Since I upgraded to windows 8.1 I'm no longer able to use my printer
Every since I upgraded my pc to windows 8.1, I haven't been able to use my officejet 4500 desktop printer. I tried to download the driver and software but it didn't help. I have the windows 8 system 64 bit. Can someone please advise me what I need to do.

I would first suggest uninstalling the software that is already on your computer for the printer. I have included the document 'Uninstalling the Printer Software'. Please choose the option for Windows 8, as it will be the same steps for Windows 8.1.
After the uninstall is completed. Please download and run the Printer Install Wizard. This will make sure that you do get the most current and compatible software for your computer, and printer.
Please let me know if you are able to install, and use your printer successfully, thank you.

Since I upgraded to iTunes 10.7, I can no longer sync my iPhones nor my iPad.
For all devices, iTunes says "could not back up ... because a session could not be started".
I'm on w7x64, updated.
I have already tried to re-install, reboot, stop/restart Apple mobile devices service, without success.

Since I upgraded to 10.9.5, my macbook no longer recognizes my external hard drive. How do I fix this? External hard drive is a 1TB Toshiba formatted for mac. Worked fine until latest upgrade.
Solved the problem by dumping my external HD onto another computer. Re-formatting and re-installing the data. Not what I wanted to do but it solved the problem.

When you say the drivers did not install correctly, did you install them via the Apple Software Update? -
I will be upgrading from Windows XP, service pack 3, to Windows 7 Ultimate. Will I be able to use the same serial number for CS5 I am currently using on Windows XP on Windows 7 Ultimate? THANKS
You should be able to. Just deactivate your copy of CS5 on your old computer. Open one of the applications and choose Help > Deactivate.

After I downloaded and install the latest iTunes software upgrade (to 10.5.1), I am no longer able to download free upgrades to the apps on my iPhone or iPad.
The App Store just says I "don't own the major versions", which of course is nonsense. It seems as if Apple's iTunes/App Store has deleted my download history. Any suggestions?

BruceActually It doesn't. It says he's on a MacBook. I don't know all the different types of Macs. I was having a ton of problems with iChat. I opened DMZ to my computer, knocked down all firewalls etc and left everything exposed, still with bad results. A few weeks ago my power supply went out on my D-Link. I bought a linksys. Since I'd left all firewalls off I figured it couldn't be the router. I power cycled everything n the netork, still no luck. Today I bought a universal Power supply and started up my D-Link Router. Everything worked perfectly. My wifes computer - a laptop running Tiger worked fine with the Linksys and did my machine before the Leopard upgrade. Now that I've got the D-Link online everythings working.

I installed the new version of iTunes today. It's 12.1.1. After completing the installation, including restarting my computer, I was no longer able to use Windows Internet Explorer. Has anybody else experienced this? If so, how did you fix Explorer? I was using Explorer 11 and Windows 7, installed on an HP Pavilion g series
Never heard of that being caused by installing iTunes. Try asking on a Windows forum. This isn't a problem with iTunes or any other Apple product. If you believe it is, uninstall iTunes. If the problem persists, you'll have to seek advice on a Windows forum or contact Microsoft for support.

Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load. Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, restart the notebook again.

HP X7000 Wifi Mouse will not pair since I upgraded to Windows 10
I upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday 29 July 2015 and now my HP X7000 Wifi Mouse will not pair with my laptop HP Pavilion dv7.
I have the same issue. I upgraded today and I have to use the built-in touchpad on my HP ENVY 17 instead of my HP X7000 Wifi mouse. From the looks of it, HP hasn't updated their drivers/software to support Windows 10. I am not very happy with HP - my ENVY 17 gets insanely hot in the palm rest area to the left of the touchpad, and now this wifi mouse doesn't work with Windows 10. 2 big negatives that will prevent me from buying HP in the future. The HP Envy 17 temperature issue is well-known among us customers that have to deal with it. Come on, HP - support your products!

I have a HP pavilon elite hpe 570f and i upgraded to windows 8 and the blue-ray player doesn't work any more.

View Solution.Are you saying the optical drive doesn't work at all anymore, or just that it doesn't play Blu-ray discs? Windows 8 doesn't include any software that can play BD movies. Check if the drive can read a music CD, and if it can, you probably just need to download third-party BD player software to play BD movies.

Dear all
I read that LR 6 will not work on my current Windows 7 32 bits installation. So I am thinking about upgrading to Windows 8.1 (64 bits). I guess it will also be very beneficial for PS.
My question is: am I entitled to upgrade my CC to 64 bits with my current membership ?

MichelCC doesn't care for "bit-ness" as a licensing criteria. Users who already run 64 bit systems have access to all versions, including native 64bit as well as 32bit. thus you will simply install the programs just like on your current system with no extra hocuspocus and they will default to the 64bit versions where available. That being so, the bigger concern should be to have compatible versions of your plug-ins or any device drivers e.g. for printers.

iTunes will not shut off. Since I upgraded my software, itunes opens no matter what program I am trying to use. If I close it it automatically opens moments later and interferes with what I am working on. This is so annoying
This is probably occuring because your Mac is attempting to wirelessly sync with a device. Try unchecking the checkbox that reads "Open iTunes when device is connected" (this option can be found under the general page of iTunes when you have a device connected).
