Since new Itune update I am unable to back up and Sync the data

Hi there,
I am trying to sync and back up data of my iphone 4. Since I haved the updated the iTunes with the new version 11.1.4.62. I get either stuch as "step 2 - Back Up" or "step 3 - Preparing Sync". Thereafter there is no action. I am really frustrated and have done it all referring to similar error in the past. But no luck.
I believe Apple is fading away like NOKIA. I never encounter such issues earlier. I was happy with iOS 6, iOS 7 not just frustrates it also give good reason to do away with iPhone culture.
Hope to receive some form of support else. Would scrap my phone n switch to LG or HTC. Had ehough of iOS glitch and errors.

I need help,,upgraded to ipad2, laptop had to be restored b4 I backed up iPad or saved iTunes library. How do I back up and sync my ipad2 without losing content on my iPad.

I need help,,upgraded to ipad2, my HP laptop had major issues and had to be restored b4 I could back up and save any content on the hard disc. So i havent backed up my iPad2 or saved my iTunes library.

I have re-installed iTunes,it currently has no content in it
all my music, photos etc had been saved to a an external Hardrive (phew)so I'm not concerned about losing them during a sync, but how do I sync my Ipad without losing the applications... The last back up saved was in June when I still had an ipad1
I tried to back it up last night but kept getting the prompts something to the effect of "iPad can only be synced to 1 iTunes library, syncing will erase all content and replace with content on this iTunes library".
Help please,, I've already lost endless hours fixing my PC issues,so I'm not game to attempt this issue without guarantee I won't lose everything,need a simple solution that anyone can follow as my brain has information overload!!! Lol

This is what is in the discussion. It really doesn't get any easier than this.
1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

HT1349 new itunes update won't allow me to drag and drop a playlist

I've downloaded the new iTunes update but I can't seem to do a drag and drop with playlists from my PC/mac onto my external Apple devices (2x iPads, iPod and my iPhone)
Is this lost functionality or a new "feature"
I don't want iCloud and Home Sharing doesn't work for me...
Any ideas....?
I can include songs onto a device but only one at a time wheras I need to drag the whole playlist...

No, I haven't had any solution to this problem. None of the myriad of possible solutions work. Doesn't someone from Apple monitor these boards? I've given up in getting it fixed and am seriously ****** at the lack of response on Apple's part without me paying for an answer. This is a ridiculous way to support software, where I have to troll around a discussion board hoping someone stumbled upon a solution and will actually reply to this thread.

Hi, today I upgraded my iphone 4 to an iphone 5. I backed up and synced my data on itunes and icloud. My new iphone however reverted to my 2011 phone settings. how do i get yesterday's settings back and get my contacts and photos from icloud onto new phon

Just to give you a bit more detail. I upgraded my iphone 4 to an iphone 5 today. Last night I backed up and synced all my messages, photos and contacts on itunes and icloud. When I connected the new iphone 5 to itunes today, it somehow reverted back to my old phone settings from 2011 :S So now, I have apps, particularly games, that are incomplete. My contacts have numbers that are out of date and I have none of the photos that were taken in the past year. My 2012 messages are gone and old messages from 2011 are there. Now, all my phone data had been regularly stored and synced with itunes and icloud. So why did it revert back to 2011 phone settings and how can I get it to change to the settings that existed last night? Also all my information on icloud, how do I get that onto my new iphone? If I go on www.icloud.com and sign in, all my photos, contacts, mail and messages are there, but I have no idea how to transfer that to my new iphone 5. Any help on all of these issues would be appreciated, thanks.

In Regards to this, You possibly wont be able to get the contacts from the iPhone 4 unless there is a back up file on your computer.
The original phone would be disabled due to alot of attempts of the wrong passcode. If all your contacts are on the cloud at the moment, you would be able to just set the iPhone 4S up with iCloud on it then Turn On "Contacts".
This would be bring all the contacts down from your iCloud onto your 4S.
But you will only be able to merge your contacts with the cloud when your original iPhone either has been enabled or the passcode was entered.
If you have previously already had iCloud on that device and have contacts Turned on, you will be able to just enter the same Apple ID you used for iCLoud on your original phone and use it on your new one.
Your able to check what content your iCloud holds via www.icloud.com
If you are unable to get past the disabled screen, then unfortunately the device will have to be put into recovery mode and then restored via iTunes NOTE: This will delete all data.

I am reading the subject and I think I know what you are talking about. I would imagine that many users are not going to know exactly what you're talking about.
If you are connected to iTunes and you see all of the storage is being aken up by "other", something got corrupted when you downloaded the update. Restore your iPad in order to fix it.
I sure hope that you backed up before you updated. Here is the information that you will need.

A few days ago with the new Itunes update, i forgot to restart my computer and now itunes will not open. I don't feel comforable uninstalling becuase i dont have all my music saved on an external hard drive. Any advice? Help please!

I have a Toshiba Laptop and I dont know the exact model or anything, might be a windows 7...i have no clue. Every other answer is saying to uninstall then reinstall but i really dont feel safe doing that without all my songs externally saved (just incase) and now i cant even get into itunes! I pause the song, and it resumes it on its own again. I'm not joking. So, I end up quiting out of itunes; but, it starts right back up again on its own. After quiting out of the app a few times, it eventually stops reopening; however, about an hour later (or less) it opens again. HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP? I'm just about to delete itunes, because I've had enough of this crap. I hope someone can help. I've restarted the laptop, and it seemed like that fixed it, then itunes started up doing the same thing again an hour later. ituneshelper is unchecked; bluetooth is off; i only have speakers and a mouse plugged in (also charger).

THIS WORKS! I kept trying to reinstall several times and also had the EXACT same error message. I then I went to my control panel and went to the Unistall Programs -> Selected Apple Software Update -> Right clicked -> Select Repair. I let it do it's thing, then reinstalled iTunes and it worked just fine.

Computer slow and not responding since installation of new iTunes update

Good Morning,
I downloaded the new iTunes update two days ago. As soon as I did it my computer was freezing up and none of my programs would respond. I uninstalled it as my computer was working fine. I did the update again and the same thing happened. So this time I uninstalled iTunes only, not Quick Time and my computer is fine. Is there anyway I can get a link to download the previous version? I can not do a system restore because my compute does not have one for some reason. I have tried that.
Also my computer's CPU usage runs normally at anywhere from 4% to 12%, both times after I did the update, it was running at 100% all the time. I could not shut it off or close any programs.
Does anybody have any ideas?

Many thanks Matt - when I spoke to my son last night he did say the anti-virus programme might be the cause, so he told me how to re-install the old Thunderbird version which worked, and to tick the option which says 'allow me to choose whether to install new versions'. Apple removed blood glucose until further notice. The reason behind this is that it gave a distorted picture in countries where the medical world used other measuring units. I suspect it will be available again in a future update.

After contacting Apple, I received a reply from their engineers:
Copy QTMovieWin.dll from: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
to: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
And that did the trick.
