Single setup file for BPM Suite 11g or later

Hi
Please tell me where to find a single setup file for Latest Oracle BPM Suite.
I could not install all required software with multiple setup files.

Hi
1. Sorry. There is Nothing single setup file for Oracle BPM Suite like you are expecting for any typical software application.
2. Option 1: Yes. If you are familiar with VM Ware and virtual machine, then you are ok to some extent. Oracle do have like a single vm image that takes care of all you want. Provided you have VM installed. Means we do have an image that contains all pre-requisites and full oracle bpm software like Oracle XE, RCU, WLS, SOA/BPM on top of WLS, BPM/SOA Domain. But this is for advanced and not for beginners unless you know VM Ware and virtual images.
3. If you are a java/j2ee developer/architect, then here are the steps for installation:
a) Good machine with atleast 8 GB RAM.
b) Install WLS Latest Version. Install SOA/BPM matching version on top of this WLS.
c) Install Oracle XE Database or have access to already installed regular Oracle 11g Database.
d) Download RCU same version as above of soa version and unzip and install in the above Database. I am not giving all steps. Just an overview.
e) Now run config wizard, create a bpm/soa domain and refer above rcu details (soa_infra, mds etc). You will have a soa/bpm domain.
f) Download and install JDeveloper IDE same matching version. Here you will create any soa / bpm / bpel applications. Once all done. Deploy on the above created domain.
So unfortunately, there is nothing like a single .exe or setup file to install oracle bpm/soa. The closest is a vm image which is kind of advanced. But for a normal typical software developer, you had to follow above step 3 (a to f).
Unfortunately if you do not have Virtual Machine, you should and must install all the software(s) and configuration(s). There is no other alternative. Its very simple either way.
Thanks

  • Failing to assemble Downloaded Pre-built Virtual Machine for  SOA Suite and BPM Suite 11g

    Hello,
I checked the download checksum of the files downloaded for Pre-built Virtual Machine for  SOA Suite and BPM Suite 11g ( Pre-built Virtual Machine for SOA Suite and BPM Suite 11g ) and they all match checksums.
however, when I try to assemble them with 7zip, I get a corrupt error message.  I have tried downloading with Chrome and Internet Explorer.  I have also tried assembling the 7zip files different ways.
Is there anything else I should try?
Running on Windows 7, 64 bit machine.  (with lots of disk space).
Is there any other way to get the files?
    thank you.

    thanks for the response
I guess I will have to do that as well.
However, it defeats the speed with which can ramp up with the toolset;  thus slowing my time I can allocate to learning it...

  • Creating setup file for java project

    hi
My project has java files, properties files, batch files as well as two jar files, mail.jar & activation.jar(for importing packages).
I have to include these jar files while setting environment variables.
Now i want to make setup file for myproject to provide quick launch from desktop ,can anyone pls help me how to include these all files into a single jar file. and how to make setup file
    Pls Help
    Thanks a lot !!!

JAR files can contain any type of file that you want so you could use the following command:
    jar cf jar-file input-file(s)
(the c tells jar to create the jar file; the f says the next item is the name of the jar file; the jar-file should be replaced with the name of the jar file; and the input-file(s) should be replaced with the name of the files you want jarred).
In general, batch files don't do much good bundled inside a jar file. If you really want a way to bundle all of your files and have them installed, then you might want to look into JExpress or one of its competitors. Full disclosure, I work for DeNova (the mfg of JExpress).
The advantage of an installer over a jar file is that you can distribute your files plus create a native executable to launch your java app, set up an uninstaller, etc.

  • "Oracle BPM  Suite 11g" and "Oracle SOA Suite 11g" components

    Dear Friends,
I am very confusing about the "Oracle BPM suite 11g" and "Oracle SOA Suite 11g" and would like your help on explanation as the following :
I have learn that In order to use "Oracle BPM Suite 11g" require to have "Oracle SOA Suite 11g" components to install first. Does it means that :
    1) When we buy "Oracle BPM Suite 11g" , we automatically get the "Oracle SOA Suite 11g" components as well ?
    2) IS it correct that these " these Oracle SOA Suite 11g components" are included :
    (a) Oracle BAM
    (b) Oracle Business Rules
    (c) Oracle BPEL Manager
    (d) Oracle Service Bus
    (e) Oracle Complex Event Processing
    3) Do we have a right to use all of these components listed in (2) ?
    4) Then the answers in (3) is "YES", then Is it correct when the customer buy the "Oracle BPM Suite 11g" , they no need to buy "Oracle SOA 11g" any more when they would like to implements that applications based on SOA in the future (without using BPM) ?
    5) What IF , the customer would like to start with "Oracle SOA Suite 11g" product and decide to buy only Oracle SOA Suite 11g first ; then later on in the future they would like to implement BPM projects in the future. Can you upgrade "Oracle SOA Suite 11g" to include "Oracle BPM Sutie 11g" and pay only the price different ?
I hope you can help providing the answers to these questions. THank you very much in advance.
    Best Regards
    Pearapon S.

This is a question best answered by your Oracle reseller or Oracle account manager to give you all the details but I hope this brief answer helps:
    - The Unified Business Process Management Suite (BPM Suite 11g) includes: BPM Studio, BPM Composer, BPMN Service Engine and Workflow Extensions, BPM Process Spaces, and BPM Process Analytics.
    - BPM Suite 11g requires the licensing of SOA Suite 11g for Oracle Middleware which requires a license for WebLogic Suite.
    - You can license SOA Suite 11g now and license BPM Suite 11g later.
Since the products are layered, I don't see this cutting into SOA sales at all. My personal view is that BPM on top of SOA is brilliant since it provides easy integration between human and automated tasks, builds on many of the SOA concepts that are key for a successful BPM implementation (functional, not the Oracle product), and uses the same IDE. The synergies extend past easy use of services; the same business rules and human workflow components are used between both products.

  • Advanced human task routing on Oracle Bpm Suite 11g.

    Hi
Do Oracle Bpm Suite 11g human tasks have concept of advanced routing of tasks ? For example if we have three groups of people, each of these groups have skills defined. And when task is created then the skills required fulfill the task (could be defined in task metadata) is compared against the three groups. The task is then assigned to the work queue of the most fitting group ?
So what I mean by this, is that you can specify rules which define which work queue (and multiple user can be assigned to the work queue) receives which tasks ?
Thank you for answering and I will gladly give more details regarding this issue...
    Best Regards Tuomas Katva

I must disagree a little... Human task's have been separated from process logic and I think it reasonable. I don't think that routing logic belongs to the business process, ofcourse this just semantics but I think it would make separation of concerns more apparent. If the human task - service/manager could determine the routing logic (to whom the task is assigned) based on the parameters it receives, it would then make clear separation of logic: business process would handle the overall control flow and the human task manager would handle the human task flow.
What I'm asking is there some pattern or API or something that would allow for example skill based routing of task. I know that Bea Aqualogic had "parametrized roles" which allowed the task to be routed on runtime to a "dynamic role", and IBM has "Business categories" and "Workbaskets" which allows advanced routing of a task based on runtime properties. Let me give you an example:
Let's say we have two skill categories:
    Language
Claim type (for example in insurance)
Applicant posts the claim and the insurance case is assessed by insurance handler. When the process flow comes to a human task it passes the claim's language and type of the claim to the human task manager. The human task manager would then determine who should handle this task. Let's say that Mike speaks spanish and has skills in car insurance claims. The human task manager would be responsible for determening that this task belongs to Mike (in case that the claim was in spanish and it was car insurance claim).
Is there any patterns or examples how this should be handled. I know this quite like case management but I think modern BPM's should be able to handle case management.
    Thank you

    Hi Sudipto
    Thanks for the response.
These were good links. The webinars seem to be good.
I'm actually looking for a book that covers the entire suite
In learn more section, I find two books
Oracle Business Process Management Suite 11g Handbook and Getting Started With Oracle BPM Suite 11g R1: A Hands-On Tutorial
Which among these two is better? If there's anyone who has gone thru these books, please suggest me a good book.

  • Writing a setup file for Java project

    Hello friends,
I am Kiran , very new to this Forum and also for java programming, my SE programmed a java project.
now I got to do two things --
1.I have to create a jar file with those class files and also an exe file which can execute that jar file.
    2. I have to write a "setup file" for automatic instalation of my Java project.
so I request my friends to help in these two issues by providing some suggestions to do them.
    Thank you in advance.
    Kiran Karnati.

1.I have to create a jar file with those class filesI suggest you use ant to build the jar file. Thee are many tutorials available if you use google.
and also an exe file which can execute that jar file.Java will execute the jar file e.g.
    java -jar myjar.jar
Of from windows just double click on the jar file.
    2. I have to write a "setup file" for automatic instalation of my Java project. You can do this with ant for remote deployment or use a batch file or use another jar which when run unpacks the application.
BTW Is Kiran a girl's name or a boy's name or both?

  • Creation of one single config file for 100 packages

    Hello Everyone,
I need to create a single config file for multiple packages. Is it possible to do it?
Could you please let me know how can it be achieved?
    Regards,
    Chinni

    Its possible
Depending on whether all packages contain same configuration items and names you can use any of below approaches
    1. If all package configuration items and names are same, you can point all packages to same config file and it will use values from file for all of them
2.If packages have different set of conigurations, then one method is to use parent package (wrapper package) to call and execute all of them. Then define all configurations as variable values in parent and add a config file in it. Pass only required configurations
to each of child packages by using parent package configuration method.
    http://www.sqlis.com/sqlis/post/Using-Parent-Package-Variables-in-Package-Configurations.aspx
The parent package has to call child packages using execute package task
Then change any of values in your config file for parent package and change gets reflected to child package property values.

    Hi Ravi, Leaf
I am facing similar issue when trying to logon to bpm workspace (http://localhost:7001/bpm/workspace) after installing BPM & SOA Suite 11.1.1.4 Developers (single JVM install of AdminServer only).
    Steps I followed are-
    1.     Database is XE, I have set an environment variable to TRUE as suggested on download instructions page
    2.     Install SOA suite 11.1.1.4 by choosing the options for BPM for developers
    3.     When logging to WLS and em console with “weblogic” user, it works fine.
    4.     On the em console, I have checked and verified the “BPMWorkspaceAdmin” role exists and weblogic user is a added to the role
    5.     However using “weblogic” user, I can not login to bpm workspace (http:// localhost:7001/bpm/workspace). The server log shows-

    Thank you for your reply!
The tutorial emphasizes that I need jdk 1.6 update 11 in order to setup.
The newer release of wl server comes with jsk 1.6 update 14.
    When I tried to run:
    setup -jreLoc C:\Oracle\Middleware\home_11gR1\jdk160_14
    no setup screen appeared.
Next, I setup stand alone jdk 1.6 update 11 and add it to path,
but setup -jreLoc C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_11 failed too, since no setup screen appeared
So I uninstalled version 10.3.2, installed 10.3.1 to follow exactly the tutorial specs.
Does one has to pay oracle consulting, in order to have an installation of soa suite up and running for development?

  • Hardware requirement for BPM Suite

    Hi All,
What are they Hardware requirements for Oracle BPM Suite.
    Regards
    Nasir

    Hi Nasir,
    As per other experts...
There is not much difference between hardware configurations for SOA and BPM.
As BPM 11g works on top of SOA 11g. So just we need a bpm extension.
So as a high ens congiguration u need to have minimum 4GB RAM to work with Jdeveloper with SOA and BPM extenions.
It is advisble to have seperate boxes for all SOA, BPM, DB, OSB servers for better performance.
    Hope this might help u...
also follow the link for 11.1.1.5 installation process that might anwer your question..
    Regards,
    Pavan
