Single-Sign with Essbase and WebLogic
Hi,I am trying to achieve a single sign-on between my WebLogic application and Essbase. I am looking at the new security platform API but I don't quite understand how that achieves single sign-on.The API requires me to authenticate the user with a username/password first before I can get the token, but the user is already authenticated by WebLogic and there is no way to get the password (SSL with form authentication).Does the security platform not cover this scenario? Thanks,- Robert
For System 9, I think SiteMinder comes close to what the OP wants, but it does not apply to fat client tools.
See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_cas_help/ch02s03.html for the encouraging bits and http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/html_cas_help/ch02s03s01.html for the discouraging bits.
But it comes close.
System 11 expands the number of SSO hosts, but alas, also seems to not support fat clients: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/epm_security/cas_help.htm
So, access to Workspace is easy, but the classic add-in and SV are still not there.

Issue in bringing up CRS on ATG 10.1.1 with MySQL and Weblogic 10.3
Hello,
I am trying to bring up Commerce Reference Store as part of my evaluation using MySQL (bundled with ATG) and WebLogic 10.3.
I followed the ATG Documentation on CRS with WebLogic and MySQL and I could not proceed because of the below error log. I keep getting error in OnlineCreateServerInstanceTask of CIM. I believe it should be some configuration problem, but could not think of any.
As part of the installation, I use C:\jdk1.6.0_25. I verified my weblogic server is up through the admin console. I started MySQL before running the eval batch. Apart from starting MySQL server, I did not make any datasource/database configuration changes for ATG. I have not run any other scripts to configure MySQL too.
Please guide me to resolve the problem.

Thanks.This error is resolved after following the logs in C:\ATG\ATG10.1.1\CIM\log\cim.log. The root cause is I used http as protocol instead of t3 while specifying weblogic admin url.

Security Approach and Plan for single logon for Essbase and Reports.
Please any one can suggest me, how can I do the Security Approach and Plan for single logon for Essbase and Reports by using Maxl or Administrator.If any one have code,please forward to my email Id: [email protected]
Once you are logged in to the "Hyperion Portal" as you call it, your user credentials are automatically passed among all the components. Therefore, a lot of the logic you created to pass credentials between BQY files in a desktop environment are no longer needed.

Is there a problem with JMS and Weblogic?
Hi,
I am using JMS and Weblogic (Not Message Driven bean).
My problem is that after some time my listeners disappears.
I am sending them a message and instead of 6 listeners
I get only 4 messages.
So, My question is: Is there any problem working with JMS
and Weblogic???
Thanks,
Tal.
Too little information and a very vague question. Need more info.

Getting empty log files with log4j and WebLogic 10.0
Hi!
I get empty log files with log4j 1.2.13 and WebLogic 10.0. If I don't run the application in the application server, then the logging works fine.
The properties file is located in a jar in the LIB folder of the deployed project. If I change the name of the log file name in the properties file, it just creates a new empty file.
What could be wrong?
Thanks!I assume that when you change the name of the expected log file in the properties file, the new empty file is that name, correct?
That means you're at least getting that properties file loaded by log4j, which is a good sign.
As the file ends up empty, it appears that no logger statements are being executed at a debug level high enough for the current debug level. Can you throw in a logger.error() call at a point you're certain is executed? -
Problems with AM and WebLogic 8.1 sp3
Hello,
The following are my environment. (both on Solaris 10)
- Sun AM
- WebLogic 8.1 sp3
I want to try an easy integration between AM and WebLogic. After I installed policy agent for WebLogic and properly configured. It seem to work at some basic level.
When I try to access protected resource on WebLogic. The agent can intercept and redirect to AM's login page where I enter username and password. After I enter correct username and password, it will be redirected back to my protected resource. However, this time I got error 403 forbidden.
I think this is because WebLogic doesn't know that I just already sign-in. There must be something needed to do to map AM's userid to WebLogic id.
But I don't know how.
Could someone give me some suggestion or point me to some documents? Thanks in advance.I meant creating a policy in the SAM web interface, where you can add the required rule (specifying resource) and the subjects to whom the policy is applicable.
Of course, if you are using J2EE_POLICY, the URL policy is of no consequence. The best practice is to use amFilter.mode = ALL, where the J2EE policies are enforced and verified by the application / app server, and the URL's are protected by SAM as well. In that case, the user has to be authorized by both SAM as well as J2EE to access the application.
This, of course, is subject to the "best of my knowledge" clause! -
Single Frame with Back and Next Jbutton support for Swing
Hi All,
I need a help regarding to th JFrame.
I have to design a tool with Back and next button with a single frame. With Next button action i should move to a new Frame content and with Back button i should back to the previous one.
How should i proceed?
Thanks a lot in advance.1) That's a Swing question. There a {forum:id=950} forum.
2) This is a very common need. There is no built-in widget in the JDK, and a lot of custom approaches, including in libraries. Google for "Java Swing wizard"
3) If you roll your own, the simplest way, as far as the GUI layer goes, is to stuff your panels in a CardLayout, and have your buttons switch the current "card". Very simple: http://download.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/layout/card.html
4) The trick may be in keeping the "business logic" in sync (if for example panel 2 depends on processing info from panel 1). If you're new to java and Swing, make sure you understand objects and references -

I followed step by step the example given on the Weblogic "edocs" pages, but I am at a loss as to what to put on the Identity Asserter Detail screen under "Default User Name Mapper Attribute Type" and "Default User Name Mapper Attribute Delimiter".
I'm using the example code you can find at the following URL - http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/security.html#1061856
I'm creating my client key pair as specified with a keyname of client_key and password of client_key_password.
I'm also creating a user in the Admin Console called auth_user with a password of auth_user_password.
HELP!!!!!The error message means you haven't configured the identity mapping between your client cert and a WLS user.
Here is the WLST script I used in my dev2dev sample(https://codesamples.projects.dev2dev.bea.com/servlets/Scarab?id=S18)
rlm = cmo.getSecurityConfiguration().getDefaultRealm()
ia = rlm.lookupAuthenticationProvider("DefaultIdentityAsserter")
activeTypesValue = array(["X.509"],java.lang.String)
ia.setActiveTypes(activeTypesValue)
ia.setDefaultUserNameMapperAttributeType('CN');
ia.setUseDefaultUserNameMapper(Boolean('true'));
So I add the X.509 to the ActiveTypes of IdentityAsserter, then I choose the "CN" as the DefaultUserNameMapperAttributeType, finally enable UseDefaultUserNameMapper. -

This my EJB3 bean code:
@Stateless(name="GruposUnidadesService",
mappedName="GruposUnidadesService")

class GruposUnidadesServiceBean implements GruposUnidadesService,

In the mappedName I have tried different ways like: "ejb/GruposUnidadesService"
but I always get the same exception.
This is my weblogic-ejb-jar.xml

In the web module, I have Spring with MyFaces, in my applicationContext.xml
I have:

</bean>
</beans>
Here, I have tried adding the resourceRef property set
to true and to false and always I get the exception.
Finally, in my web.xml I have:
<ejb-ref>
<ejb-ref-name>GruposUnidadesService</ejb-ref-name>
<ejb-ref-type>Session</ejb-ref-type>

Help with Informix and Weblogic

error from the Informix database like this: listener-thread: err =

-951 refers to an incorrect password or username. I have verified that
by logging into Informix using the same username and passwd and logged
in with ease.
If anybody has any suggestions this would help me out a lot.

Two Site Single Organization with 2010 and 2013
Would like to clarify the below queries / reference architecture.
Single Forest - Single Organization is it feasible to create another Lync Site under a different child domain?
Original site runs on an older version and new child domain site runs on 2013 with data centres across the WAN. What all will be the challenges / dependency in this scenario and what data replication will be required?Hi,
It is the supported scenario for Lync Server environment.
1. Firstly, you need to add the Lync Server 2013 Pool in the existed Lync topology.
2. Then publish the topology.
3. Prepare ADDS. You need to prepare schema and forest in the root domain, and prepare domain in which the child domain you deploy Lync Server 2013. I suggest you to do it by Lync Server Management Shell.
4. Install or Update Lync Server System

Issue with applet and Weblogic 8.1 SP3
Hello,
I have an applet that is making EJB calls to a Weblogic 8.1 SP2 app server via an IIS web server. The weblogic.ejbc tool was used to generate the stubs and skeletons and deployed into the applet.jar. The applet comes up fine in this scenario. But when this applet is connected to a Weblogic 8.1 SP3 app server it failes to come up. Apparently, there is some dependency between the ejbc generated stubs and skeletons with the service pack that is being used. One way of solving this problem is to generate separate stubs and skeletons for each service pack but I would like to avoid doing this and would like it to be transparent to the applet. Is there any configuration that I can make which can help solve this problem ?
-VijayYou could check up for the relaease. I don't think there was such a change in SP3. But generating the stubs and skeletons again will definitely solve. You might even test it backwards (generate on SP3 and test on SP2).

Problems with IIS and Weblogic 6.0 Redirecting thru IIS
Hi
I have just installed Welblogic 6.0 and I am having problems with the configuration

I created the iisproxy.ini file and then copied that into wlserver6.0/bin directory
and copied the iisproxy.dll file into the inetpub/wwroot directory for iis to

Now when I type in my url, I get the default index.jsp page that bea supplied
but when I try to go to the Admin tool, existing portals created or new portals
added, I get the following error

Can any one help, here is my iisproxy.ini file

BolaSeems 6.0 has more than a few proxy problems. We are running IPlanet and have
had no success in running the 6.0 proxy.
FYI. We have started using the 5.1 proxy in 6.0 successfully; you might give
it a try. Not sure we want to put this in production in this condition however.
