SIT Mappings randomly break

I'm having a very frustrating problem with the Simulation interface toolkit (version 5.0.1). I'm working with a rather large complicated simulink model (compiled into a dll and run on a PXI target) so I am creating my host vi piece by piece.
I completed the first piece and successfully mapped all controls an indicators using the SIT connection manager. All controls and indicators appeared to work as expected.
I then added all the controls and indicators for the second piece to my host vi and suddenly most of te indicators for the first piece are displaying only zeroes. Even more confusing is that before I actually mapped the indicators from the second piece to anything, they were displaying the values that the inidcators that are now displaying zeroes should have displayed.
I have since redone the mappings and all but one of the second set of controls/indicators are working as expected but the first set is still FUBAR.
I should note however that one of the indicators that currently displays as all zeroes should be displaying the contents 50 byte message destined to be output on a serial line. This message I am able to read on the other end and it appears as I would expect so the dll itself seems to be functioning properly. Its just the exchange of data between host and driver that seems broken.
Has anyone run into anything like this before?

thanks for replying so soon. The thing is that I am working with SIT but not with the I/O of the hardaware, what means i can't access to the place you tell me in SIT menu....
I've mapped 2 controls and 2 indicators and in simulink i placed scopes to see if it's receiving the values, but it appears nothing, i guess it's cause it is not reading the signals i send from labview. The 2 outputs of my -mdl I use them in the main loop of my .vi. I don't know if I've explained more or less my situation.
The interface i think is fine, since if i place a constant value in my labview block diagram connected to the indicators, when i execute the .vi, the mdl does it as well, and i see that by changing the value of the 2 constants in the frontal panel (since they are controls), in the simulink it shows that change (only if i change quicly in the frontal pannel the values, otherwise it shows the initial value i set at the beginning...it's really weird).
so my situation is frustrating, i don't know what it's wrong... I'm working in real time, since the operations my model in simulink does is changing the parameters of one equation every 20min and it returns the duty cicle of the controller i'm implementing... for this reason i need to work in real time.
another question is, i haven't create dthe .dll, instead i'm woiorking with matlab and labview opned at the same time and before starting i build the model of simulink and it looks it gives me no error... should I crete the dll and work with it?

Firefox twitter site has random "x��" text, works fine in other browsers. I cleared cached and history to no effect, what can I do?

I recently re installed Windows 7 OS into a new hard drive while copying over my "appdata" folder to the new drive to maintain my old computer settings.
Ever since I started using the new OS, I believe I started to have trouble with the twitter website which only loads garbled, random text, like the following:

More recently I started getting this with google search which is even more annoying due the frequency I use that (like trying to troubleshoot this problem). However, I managed to fix that by following the help suggestions here for the google site:

However, nothing manages to fix the twitter website which works fine with other browsers, such as Chrome.

Try to reset all network.http.* prefs on the about:config page via the right-click context menu to the default value.

Deleting a 'Best Reply' in a Community Site Discussion Board breaks post

Hi all,
I've recently been working with the community sites discussion board functionality and have run into an issue. If I mark a reply in a discussion board as a 'best reply' and then delete the original reply the discussion board webpart still shows with
the 'best reply' tick in place. More concerning is that once this has occurred if I refresh the page at all a "TypeError: 'undefined' is null or not an object" error will start generating when trying to post to the discussion.
The following steps outline how to generate this error:
Create a new Community Site
Click 'new discussion' on the homepage of the new site
Enter a subject and a body and save
Click into your new discussion and write a reply
Mark this reply as a 'best reply'
Delete the reply
Notice that the tick and the 'Best Reply' header are still displayed
Refresh the page
Attempt to reply to you discussion - the error will be generated
Any help would be much appreciated.

How can I change remote site definition without breaking all of the links?

I've created a website and put it here http://home.comcast.net/~alpsf/index.html to test it during construction. Now when I change the remote site definition on the local site in DW, all of the links are broken. I now suspect the problem is that I made it site root-relative, and DW inserted /~alpsf/ in all of the links. Is there a way to fix this?

You can do a find and replace to change the links globally. Make sure you do a complete backup of the site prior to doing this incase you don't do it correctly. Let me stress that again, backup your entire site incase you need to restore. If you have created a "new site" and this will not be part of the /~alpsf site, then you will need to define a new site and copy all the files into that folder (I am guessing this is the case). I would copy the files outside of Dreamweaver. You could do this without touching the files in the ~alpsf directory. There are a lot of variable here as I don't know exactly what you are doing.
On the file menu select window/results-select search. (this is done if the search window is not open).
Find in: Entire Current Local Site
Search: Source Code
Find: "/~alpsf/
Replace:"/
That should do it, but this is a very tricky thing. I wouldn't have a problem doing this as long as I have everything backed up.

Edited:You might have to go into your css, spry files and any others that has links to do the same (this time only select Find in: Current document once the document is open). Once that is done, delete the whole remote site and upload the changes once you check that everything is completed.

Menu Issues: Randomly Breaking Links

For the past 5 months I have been working on a massive website that consists of over 70+ pages. I am using a mega menu from Muse Grid because my clients wanted a 100% width-like drop down menu. I have since upgraded Muse 2-3 times and am having nothing but problems with the menu. For instance, if you go to the site navalicompany.businesscatalyst.com and try to click on industries in the main navigation it is not linked. I have linked this page time and again only to have Muse forget the link again. I can't tell you how many times I have to redeploy the menu. You can imagine 70+ pages times the amount of times I have had to manually make corrections and it comes out in the hundreds if not thousands of corrections. This laborious task is in large part to the fact that my client wants the header to stick to the top, thus I have to have the header and menu item on each page (not the master pages). Can you help me at all and let me know why the menu keeps forgetting it's link. I am way overdue to launch this site and am growing weary of this issue. Please help!!! Thank you!

This is exactly what you were talking about wasn't it? If so, then I just need to go within my master page templates and manually elevate everything that makes up my header and raise it above the content of the individual pages right? Doing this can I still pin my header so that it will stick to the top of the browser when scrolling downward?

Has anyone had issues with their Gyroscope or Accelerometers randomly breaking?

I had my phone in my purse for a few hours at work and when i took it out again they were no longer working. I didn't do anything (use, touch, drop, etc.) to the phone in that time period and now my phone gets extremely hot when I'm using it or when I'm charging it and the gyroscope/accelerometer no longer work. If i try to use the compass app it just goes on the fritz and the iPhone's parallax effect makes everything shake and swirl around like crazy.
I have a small scratch/chip in the corner of my phone and the Verizon store representative said he wasn't sure if it would be considered damaged or not. The iPhone is outside of the 1 year warranty. I'm not sure what to do but i can barely use the phone now

I understand your predicament radica1! Applications some times fail when system files get corrupted. I have resolved similar issues with my iPhone by doing a hard reset, as this procedure brings the phone back to original factory settings and clears any potential system error. The sort order of products under our categories on our web site is random with Firefox, but the categories with products are in the correct order with IE, Chrome, etc. This incorrect order with Firefox occurs on various computers, i.e. Windows 7, XP, etc. and is not consistent. To make matters worse, sometimes it is random with Firefox and then returns to being correctly sorted but IE, Chrome, etc. are always in the correct order.

Adding a Second Project Site with same restore data

This is the first time I've had to accomplish this
I have a dev server where I restore a backup from 2 weeks ago to http://devserver/pwa
My team has asked for a restore from 2 weeks + 1 day to http://devserver:99/pwa - I've tried deleting site collections, tried several other ways of doing the restore; however, during the mount-spdatabase I get only 1 site to come back (pwa) but
it doesnt show in the site list
The enumallwebs shows the following (notice the in sitemap)
stsadm -o enumallwebs -databasename content_database
databse site count 1

I believe/know the issue deals with the same site ID being on the first pwa site; however when I try to do a Mount-SPContentDatabase content-database -WebApplication "http://dev:99" -AssignNewDatabaseID I still get the same issues - new database
ID but still same site ID for the "dev/pwa" site database
Is there anyway to clone (yes I've seen the other articles) or have two sites with the same data?
I've also thought about trying to export the stsadm enumallwebs data and copying that to a new PWA site but have been unsuccessful in the export (or even finding a way to do it)
Can I get any ideas on how to either
1) Change the site ID from a database backup/restore
2) Restore a PWA site to the same server/database server
3) other ideas?
My team members would like to do a comparison of the two dates between a project to check for differences (I just found out about
FluentPro Audit Lite Pro)

I'm still experiencing issues

Database (I also did the site collection backup)
1) Trying to do an Import-SPWeb but this was unsuccessful
created a web application 99 -> provisioned a pwa with the old databases -> data appear in project center but when you click on the sites it gives an error message

the below while it held promise it didnt work for going against a separate port... using the data from an unattached content database export (link above)

4) I'm still unsure how to approach what Krishnp stated...
unless #2 was his approach
Any other help would be greatly appreciated - I'm trying everything it's time consuming since the backup files take over an hour to restore to a site - while it is faster to do the original when its just one content database/4 pwa databases...

Two Issues: Cannot connect to wireless networks; Cannot load certain sites

Hey everybody,
I have a MacBook Pro 15".
In just the past week, I've stumbled upon two sudden problems with my network/internet connectivity.
First, I can no longer connect to wireless networks, be it an infrastructure point or computer-to-computer ad-hoc networks. I'm not really sure why. I installed the latest AirPort Update (4.2.3, according to System Profiler). I also recently installed both iStumbler and KisMac v.21. When I started having issues, I thought that maybe one of these two programs might be the culprit, so I uninstalled both of them but I still have the same problem.
Second, I've had issues with not being able to connect to certain websites. I use both Safari and BonEcho as my browsers. The specific sites seem random:
www.weffriddles.com
www.macrumors.com
images.google.com
sports.yahoo.com
finance.yahoo.com
to list a few.

If you are trying to connect to a third-party router using WPA or WEP, there is a good chance that your Airport card was broken by Apple's 2007-02 Airport Update. There is no fix, and for many of us, our Macbooks and Macbook Pros are useless for wireless connections until Apple fixes the issue. At this point, Apple seems to be denying that there even is an issue, so we may all be in for a long wait indeed.

I need to know the domain names of the update servers so I can exclude them from outgoing content filtering appliances at my site

We use a Bluecoat device that must be authenticated on a time schedule, before a user can browse off site. This breaks the updater on Firefox if the end user has not yet authenticated.
I can add the Firefox update servers or domains to an exclusion list so the Bluecoat will not interfere. I need to know those names.
I did some network sniffing and noticed aus2-mozilla-org.geo.mozilla.com but I assume there are more.

Maybe it would be easier to setup a local update server.

Random numbers in applets

I have an applet, and when I put this code at the beginning of the run method, it freezes up and wont do anything. (no exceptions, just sits there)

why?

It may depend on the version of the JDK you are using.
I believe the nextInt() is only inversion 1.3 and higher.
I am using 1.1.7a and I would have to use the method next() instead of nextInt(), you might want to check this out.
