Site FTP information lost on closing DW CS4

I am having a persistent problem.
EVERY time the DW CS4 is stopped for any reason (including a normal closing of the application) my site FTP information is lost and has to be re-inserted manually. (This is similar to the problem with DW8 which was solved with the DW8.1 update).
I've tried deleting prefs and deleting personal config file with no improvement. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled - also without improvement.
I can't find any reference to this anywhere else - I am awaiting a response from Adobe Tech Support at the moment.

Yep, tried that. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
Only two items come up at all. Both say they are modified and won't be repaired but they are on Apple's 'ignore' list and in any case date from back in July when I was not having a problem.

  • Where is my Site FTP Info

Hello, I have recently upgraded from Dreamweaver 8 to
Dreamweaver CS3 and now when I use the program i can see all my
site files etc. but all the site FTP information is gone.....when I
click on the Site Manager it is completely blank as if no sites
    ever existed.
I probably have all my login information around here
somewhere but with over 20 sites I really do not want to be typing
    this in again.
Where is my site info? Can I get it back? Grrrrrr, I hate
upgrading my apps for exactly this reason :(

What operating system? these two installs are on the same
    box?
Is dw 8 still installed? And the sites are visible in dw 8?
Then open dw 8, go to dw menu->Site->Manage Sites
Select a site from the list and click EXPORT.
    Save the .ste file.
Rinse/Lather/Repeat for the 19 other site defs.
Save them all to one folder.
    Open CS3 dw.
    Dw menu->Site->Manage Sites
    Click import
Use the browse button to select one of these .ste files.
Dw CS3 will import all .ste files in that folder in one step
    akaik.

  • Dreamweaver 8 never remembers Site Management information

My version of Dreamweaver 8 never remembers any remote site
username or password information. I have reinstalled from the
licensed box several times. Our company has several websites, and,
without fail, each time I open any of our sites in Dreamweaver 8,
it has completely lost all of the site remote information - this is
true for all of our sites. This is becoming extremely irritating.
Any suggestions........other than reinstalling, yet again?? Also, I
have tried exporting site definitions, but perhaps I am not using
it properly, as when reimporting them, Dreamweaver wants to build
    an all-new site.

I replaced my hard drive and I backed up my files on an external hard drive but when I reloaded my iweb to my imac none of my files were on it so I can't make changes to my Published web site have I lost my files what can I do

By default iWeb keeps its data in (user)/Library/Application Support/iWeb in a file named Domain. Without this file you cannot proceed (other than by recreating the site from scratch using the published version as a reference) so you need to locate it on the original disk.

  • How to disable 'Remove Hidden Information' popup when closing PDF in Acrobat X on Mac?

How do I disable the function that causes the 'Remove Hidden Information' popup when closing PDFs in Acrobat X? I'm using OS X 10.9.4 on a Mac?
I've searched online and was directed to Preferences>>Security (enhanced) to uncheck 'Unable Enhanced Security', but it wasn't checked.
This box (see screen shot) opens each time I close a PDF. I'm forced to select an option before closing.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Go to the menu Acrobat>Preferences
In the Preferences window's "Categories" pane, select "Document"
In the "Hidden Information" section deselect both check boxes
    Click the OK button
    You should be good now.

  • Solaris Studio 12.3 demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting

    Hello,
I have run into a problem with the Solaris Studio 12.3 compiler when building one source file that makes use of the open source Eigen library.  The compilation fails with the error:
demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting
    CC: fbe failed for CSeasonalComponent.cc
The full command that fails is:
    CC -c -o .objs/CSeasonalComponent.o -m64 -g3 -fsimple=1 -O4 -xbuiltin=%all -xlibmil -xlibmopt -xarch=sse3 -xchip=nehalem -nofstore -xalias_level=compatible -features=extensions -errtags +w -erroff=anonnotype,anonstruct,badargtype2w,hidef,notemsource,wbadasg -library=Crun -library=no%Cstd -KPIC  -mt -I/usr/local/stdcxx/include -I/usr/include -I/usr/local/include -DSOLARIS -D_POSIX_PTHREAD_SEMANTICS -D_RWSTD_NO_STRING_MUTEX -D_RWSTD_MINIMUM_STRING_CAPACITY=22 -D_RWSTD_NO_LIST_NODE_BUFFER -DBOOST_MATH_NO_LONG_DOUBLE_MATH_FUNCTIONS -DEIGEN_MPL2_ONLY -DEIGEN_DONT_USE_RESTRICT_KEYWORD -DNDEBUG -I/export/home/dave/source/local/include -I/usr/local/include/boost-1_54 CSeasonalComponent.cc
The problem goes away if the -g3 flag is removed.  Replacing -g3 with -g0 does not help - the same fatal error occurs.  (Removing the -g0/-g3 options has the effect of not passing a -dbgfile option to the fbe program, and this appears to be what avoids the problem.)
The information in this question is from a Solaris x86 machine, although the same "demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting" also occurs on SPARC with the same source file and similar (although obviously not identical) compiler options.
The result of running the CC command that fails with the -dryrun option added is this:
    ### CC: Note: NLSPATH = /opt/solarisstudio12.3/prod/bin/../lib/locale/%L/LC_MESSAGES/%N.cat:/opt/solarisstudio12.3/prod/bin/../../lib/locale/%L/LC_MESSAGES/%N.cat

Running the CC command with the -keeptmp option added leaves these files in /tmp:

Finally, creating an fbe command similar to the one from the dry run output using the last two files in /tmp with the -V option added as follows:
    /opt/solarisstudio12.3/prod/bin/fbe -V -Qy -xarch=amd64 -xchip=nehalem -warn=%none -o .objs/CSeasonalComponent.o /tmp/ube.1386778859.8273.08.s -dbgfile /tmp/ube.1386778859.8273.09.dbg
    results in this:
    as: Sun Compiler Common 12.3 SunOS_i386 2011/11/16
demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting
I would be happy to provide the /tmp/ube.1386778859.8273.08.s and /tmp/ube.1386778859.8273.09.dbg files to assist with reproduction of this problem if anyone is interested.

The problem with creating a simple test case that doesn't rely on Boost or Eigen is that the error message is so vague that there's no hint about where to start.  The pre-processed source of the file that causes the problem is 4.7MB so trying to chop that down without any clue as to what's relevant is going to be very hard.
You could do everyone a favour if future internal error messages contained at least some information about what caused the problem.  I know they're not supposed to happen at all, but clearly they occasionally do.  For example, instead of:
demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting
    something like:
demangle fatal internal error: information lost in character quoting: corrupt symbol is __1cFEigenPPlainObjectBase4n0AGMatrix4CdIBiBiAIBiB___KresizeLike4n0AOGeneralProduct4n0AFBlock4Ckn0AGMatrix4CdIBIB_"""_oops
Then that would give somebody trying to report the problem or change their code to avoid it a starting point for where to look.
Anyway, I've worked around the problem by changing -g3 in the CXXFLAGS in the Makefile to `test $< = CSeasonalComponent.cc || echo -g3` which avoids the error.  And hopefully like you say it's a known problem that's already fixed in the next version of Solaris Studio.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 - "Site - Client information" reports contain no data

    Hi,
I'm running CM 2012 R2 and have a lot of clients installed. In management console, the clients are active, but Site - Client Information reports contain no data. The other reports, for example, Hardware - Processor etc., show data.
    What is wrong?

Do you have a Fallback status point enabled and defined? if not then most of these report will not work.
However Count of Client for each site should work.

  • I upgraded from 3.6.13 to 10.0 and lost my web site login information for most (all?) of my bookmarked websites.

Firefox remmembered my logins with 3.6.13. After upgrade, no logins are3 filled in when I go to the site.
I tried looking at my profile. The only profile I can find is the one created by 10.0 and it obviously doesn't contain my old login info. Is there a backup of the old profile anywhere? I have searched but can't find. Is there a way to restore the missing profile?
    Thank you, G. Hunter.

Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions.<br />
You can uninstall and remove Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.
    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Java#Multiple_Java_Console_extensions
You can disable the Java Quick Starter extension if you have it.
    * Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions
    * Control Panel -> Java -> Advanced tab -> Miscellaneous -> Java Quick Starter (disable)
Do you still see those names in the Password Manager?
*Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Saved Passwords" > "Show Passwords"
Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
    <br />
There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page to log you in automatically.<br />
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server.<br />
If that "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you anymore and you need to sign in once again.

  • Database - information lost after saving and closing.

I have a very simple database. Two text fields and a date field. There are 146 records.
Each text field occasionally contains a lot of characters (isn't 255 the max.?)
If a create another record, put in a date and some text in each text field, then save, close, and reopen the file, the new text is missing from the first text field but the date and other text is intact.
I had this problem two weeks ago. As a work-around, I created another matching database from scratch, exported the records from the corrupt file, and then imported to the new file. The new file functioned well until today.
    Any ideas?

No, it's 1004 characters per field.

No idea about this behaviour which I never saw.

  • Manage Sites/FTP: Can't see site files in local view.

    Dreamweaver 5.5
    Mac OS X.6.8
I have several sites set up in Dreamweaver. All are working correctly except one. This one site I moved files using Finder into a deeper directory and then moved them back up to the top level directory. I have been working with the site since and saving, so that's not the issue. I am mentioning it because that is the only unique thing about the site that isn't working.
When I look at the site in the Files panel, I can see the directory I set up in Manage Sites but no files inside it. If I put all to my remote site, 0 bytes are transferred.
    So far I have
    1. removed the site and created a new one.
    2. Closed the app, blown away Drmwvr prefs, and reopened. The site is still there, so that prefs file doesn't cover it.
Any ideas? I cannot FTP files to my host if Dreamweaver doesn't "see" the files I need to put.
    Thx

Moving files in Finder is fine as long as you can follow the moves in your files panel. Troubles start when you move files outside of DW and then can't keep up with them. Broken links, orphaned pages, etc.
In Sites>Manage Sites you need to Edit the site in question and browse to the new root folder location. Then browse to the images folder and SpryAssets folder if you have one. Once you have redefined the site with the proper locations, the files will appear in the panel in DW.
As long as you haven't deviated from the correct structure on the server, you should be able to put files and they will upload.
As a rule, when moving or renaming files in a defined site, do it from within the Files Panel in DW, not in Finder. DW will update links and pages when you do and things will go much more smoothly.

  • Fluid grid layout lost when closing and reopening Dreamweaver

I am working on fluid grid layout in dreamweaver cc. I created a new dreamweaver site, created a fluid grid layout page and everything looked and worked as it should. I closed out of dreamweaver and when I reopened it, I could no longer see the fluid grid layout or the fluid grid handles on any of the divs. I also no longer had the little button in the toolbar next to the live button either, to toggle the fluid layout on and off.   I did not move the css or js from where dreamweaver originally stored them.
Also checked the content and code of my files, everything looks as it should:
The fluid grid layout style sheet IS attached to the page.
The Fluid Grid Properties near the top of the style sheet ARE still there.
I have tried several test sites and as soon as I close DW and reopen it, the fluid grid layout button is gone, as is are the visual aids.  I uninstalled and reinstalled dreamweaver to no avail.
    Very frustrating!
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi,
Thank you for all the responses.  When I was doing the testing, I didn't touch any of the style sheets.  I just created a new site, created a new FGL page, saved everything, then closed out.  When I reopened, the FGL elements were not there.  So in taking Ken's suggestion, I was getting ready to upload the files to see if anyone could see what I was doing wrong.  I had named the file test.html so I did a 'save as', to save it as index.html to make it easier.  Then a strange thing happened.  The new 'index.html' page came in with the FGL elements!  When I looked at the test.html, they still were not there.  In doing additional testing, when I open the first file, whether test.html or index.html, no FGL functions are available, when I open the second one, again no matter whether test.html or index.html, they are.  Getting ready to throw my hands up...  I uploaded everything to:

Directly under there is the css file called fgltest.css, along with the boilerplate.css, respond.min.js, index, html, and test.html.
Don't know what is going on. I am new to fluid grid layouts, but not to dreamweaver, have been using it for years.  Unless someone can see something that I cannot, seems like the only way I can create a Fluid grid layout based on this new information, is to open one page and work on another...

  • Ftp question when trying to connect CS4 manually

    HI!
I'm trying to connect CS4 manually (don't have a connection key). After putting in my ftp details, the question comes up "on the FTP server, what folder contains your website?" It then says "Contribute needs to locate your site on the FTP server:     example:/users/myfolder/public-html/"
It then tells me that if I don't know, to contact my web administrator. I've done that, and they don't know, and just refer me to the adobe webpage which supposedly will answer the question. It doesn't.
This seems to be an easy one to answer, but I'm totally non-techie, and if my website administrator doesn't know the answer, then I'm stuck. Can anybody help? Thanks!!

Thanks, I worked it out in the end; when I changed webhost, the old pw
remained but I hadn't realized because it wasn't clear, and I'm not sure
    what I'm doing...

  • New site FTP problem

I have been forced to set up a new site because of
    reinstalling
    Windows XP. That's another story.
I have set up the site. Used the "Test Connection" and
    received the
    message that it was successful.
From a past problem I selected "Passive FTP".
I have access to the site through WS_FTP so I know that my
    password is
    correct.
    DW gives the error message:
"FTP error occurred - Cannot get remote folder information.
    Access
denied. the file may not exist or there could be a permission
    probe
    lm"
I have rechecked the "Test Connection" and once again it was
    successful.
    What have I missed?
    Thanks,
    Robin Chapple.
