Size of archive documents in database

Hi all!
As per tables SOFFPHF and TOA*, I was able to know the storge by document type.
Now, I need to know if there is any way to extracte the size of the documents stored in database by type of SAP object (invoice, order, delivery, etc...) That is, the size of the archived documents in database by type of SAP Object.
Thank you!
Kind regards,
Daniel Solano
SAP Basis Systems

Thanks for that.
We are looking to enqueue XML documents for some time (weeks or months). I have used other message queuing systems where the memory footprint was roughly equal to the total size of all messages in queues on that machine. Such a scheme would not make it viable to keep messages in queues for any length of time.
Can you tell me whether Advanced Queues has any of these issues?
To give you some explanation as to why we are doing this, we plan to push XML documents into a queue to be later dequeued by a data warehouse application. When the system goes live, the data warehouse will not yet be built, but will be delivered for the next phase. XML encoded documents will be waiting for some time in a queue, prior to processing by the warehouse. I know I could dequeue the messages from AQ and put them in tables, but I want to avoid this cost, if AQ can have a large number of messages in a queue and that this will not have a memory footprint or performance impact on the system.

John

  • F.05 fx.val. and archived documents

    Hello,
    It is possible that with the fx. valuation with F.05 tr. (end month closing), also works with archived documents, (XARCH field)?
    I mean, I have Archiving in the company and there are differences betwen BSEG and BKPF archived documents and the FBL3N with BSIS , because these differences are in a G/L account (172630 "Inventory bought back").
    In FBL3N (select open items and Data Source = Database + Archive)--> I see items dated earlier than 01.01.2005 which are not considered by SAP for revaluation with F.05 tr.
    F.05 must consider this archived documents (XARCH field = "x")

    1. When I run STEP2 (revaluation) in F.05 the system give me GLT0 balance (account 172630)--> 459.476,66
    2. When I run STEP2 (revaluation) in F.05 the system give me the total items archived until 2005 = 459.476,66
    This is because I was asking for the archiving documents in the F.05 execution.

  • Urgent: Huge diff in total redo log size and archive log size

    Dear DBAs
    I have a concern regarding size of redo log and archive log generated.
    Is the equation below is correct?
    total size of redo generated by all sessions = total size of archive log files generated
    I am experiencing a situation where when I look at the total size of redo generated by all the sessions and the size of archive logs generated, there is huge difference.
    My total all session redo log size is 780MB where my archive log directory size has consumed 23GB.
    Before i start measuring i cleared up archive directory and started to monitor from a specific time.
    Environment: Oracle 9i Release 2
    How I tracked the sizing information is below
    logon as SYS user and run the following statements
    DROP TABLE REDOSTAT CASCADE CONSTRAINTS;
    CREATE TABLE REDOSTAT
    AUDSID NUMBER,
    SID NUMBER,
    SERIAL# NUMBER,
    SESSION_ID CHAR(27 BYTE),
    STATUS VARCHAR2(8 BYTE),
    DB_USERNAME VARCHAR2(30 BYTE),
    SCHEMANAME VARCHAR2(30 BYTE),
    OSUSER VARCHAR2(30 BYTE),
    PROCESS VARCHAR2(12 BYTE),
    MACHINE VARCHAR2(64 BYTE),
    TERMINAL VARCHAR2(16 BYTE),
    PROGRAM VARCHAR2(64 BYTE),
    DBCONN_TYPE VARCHAR2(10 BYTE),
    LOGON_TIME DATE,
    LOGOUT_TIME DATE,
    REDO_SIZE NUMBER
    TABLESPACE SYSTEM
    NOLOGGING
    NOCOMPRESS
    NOCACHE
    NOPARALLEL
    MONITORING;
    GRANT SELECT ON REDOSTAT TO PUBLIC;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TR_SESS_LOGOFF
    BEFORE LOGOFF
    ON DATABASE
    DECLARE
    PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION;
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO SYS.REDOSTAT
    (AUDSID, SID, SERIAL#, SESSION_ID, STATUS, DB_USERNAME, SCHEMANAME, OSUSER, PROCESS, MACHINE, TERMINAL, PROGRAM, DBCONN_TYPE, LOGON_TIME, LOGOUT_TIME, REDO_SIZE)
    SELECT A.AUDSID, A.SID, A.SERIAL#, SYS_CONTEXT ('USERENV', 'SESSIONID'), A.STATUS, USERNAME DB_USERNAME, SCHEMANAME, OSUSER, PROCESS, MACHINE, TERMINAL, PROGRAM, TYPE DBCONN_TYPE,
    LOGON_TIME, SYSDATE LOGOUT_TIME, B.VALUE REDO_SIZE
    FROM V$SESSION A, V$MYSTAT B, V$STATNAME C
    WHERE
    A.SID = B.SID
    AND
    B.STATISTIC# = C.STATISTIC#
    AND
    C.NAME = 'redo size'
    AND
    A.AUDSID = sys_context ('USERENV', 'SESSIONID');
    COMMIT;
    END TR_SESS_LOGOFF;
    Now, total sum of REDO_SIZE (B.VALUE) this is far less than archive log size. This at time when no other user is logged in except myself.
    Is there anything wrong with query for collecting redo information or there are some hidden process which doesnt provide redo information on session basis.
    I have seen the similar implementation as above at many sites.
    Kindly provide a mechanism where I can trace which user is generated how much redo (or archive log) on a session basis. I want to track which all user/process are causing high redo to generate.
    If I didnt find a solution I would raise a SR with Oracle.
    Thanks
    [V]

    You can query v$sess_io, column block_changes to find out which session generating how much redo.
    The following query gives you the session redo statistics:
    select a.sid,b.name,sum(a.value) from v$sesstat a,v$statname b
    where a.statistic# = b.statistic#
    and b.name like '%redo%'
    and a.value > 0
    group by a.sid,b.name
    If you want, you can only look for redo size for all the current sessions.

  • Archiving documents in SAP Records Management

    Hello experts,
    Does anybody know how to archive documents in SAP Records Management? By default, they are stored somewhere in SAP database. However, based on the SAP documentation, they can be stored also to archive by using ArchiveLink. Where is this configuration done and how? Or do we need some coding here?
    I'm interested in two different solutions:
    1) Document will be stored on an archive server right from the start. By doing this, I no longer need to move the document content myself.
    2) Moving existing Records Management documents to archive. I know there is a program SRM_KPRO_CONTENT_RELOCATION for this purpose, but it doesn't seem to be working without some archiving/RM configuration before somewhere else.
    We are using Records Management as part of Digital Personnel Files and the documents to be archived are completed Adobe forms.
    Best Regards,
    JV

    Hi JV,
    You need to define the repository in OAC0 transaction. As per my analysis now your document are stored in sap database.
    If you are using separate serever then confuigure as follows in OAC0:
    Document area : SAP Records Management
    Storgae type : RFC Archive
    define IP address and port. Then goto CSADMIN and activate the certificate for the same.
    or if using SAP Database then make the changes in above areas.
    Then these archived documents will get saved in content server instead of sap database.
    Hope this will help.
    Regards,
    Ravindra

  • How to view an archived document?

    Hi ,
    I have a database record in bseg table showing the document no.  and line items. but when i try to display the doument it says, it might be archived .so, cant display. is there any way to look at the document or say if its been  archived document or a deleted document.

    If data was archived with archive object FI_DOCUMNT you can read data running report from SE38 FAGL_ACCOUNT_ITEMS_GL.
    Remember to set data source to archive.

    my database is running in archive log mode.
    someone is running oracle merge statement. still it is running.
    He will issue commit after the operation.
    in that period redolog file increasing now.
    my question is why size of archive log file increasing with redolog file.
    i know that after commit archive log file should generate.(may be it is wrong).
    please suggest........

    i know that after commit archive log file should generate.(may be it is wrong). No this is not correct that after commit archive log will generate....You know merge statement causes the insert (if data not present already) or update if database is present.. Obviously these operation will generate lots of redo if the amount of data been processed is high.
    If you feel that this operation is causing excessive of redo then root cause analysis should be done...
    For that use Logminer (excellent tool to provide segment level breakdown of redo size). V$logmnr_contens has columns redo block and redo byte address associated with the current redo
    change
    There are some gudlines in order to reduce redos( which may vary in any environment)
    1) check if there are unwanted indexes being used in tables which are refereed in merge. If yes then remove those could bring down the redo
    2) Use global temporary tables to reduce redo (if there is a need to keep data only temporarily in a session)
    3) Use nologging if possible (but see its implications)
    Hope this helps

  • How to get to the archived documents in KM?

    I am trying to implement a feature that will retrieve (and then delete) archived documents in KM.
    Any idea where the documents are stored?
    Thanks
    Sid

    Hi Sid,
    for sure there will be such a way... but this is really something you shouldn't do. The whole database storing is totally undocumented and should be totally transparent for the developer. Just don't care about the fact that it exists!
    (And that says someone who loves to wade through undocumented code and who wants to get behind the secrects no one wants to tell...)
    Really, the way you have started is the way it should work. As said in another thread here, try to reduce the not working example to a minimum of code etc and if the problem still exists, open an OSS message.
    If you get a super-small example being built, expand this line by line, if needed char by char , until you see what causes the problem. By this way you would also see if it's a problem of your coding of whatever or a problem of the wizard etc. (again the chance to open an OSS message).
    Hope it helps

  • Size of archived logs

    Hi,
    1- how can we define size of archived logs in 10g R2 ?
    2- how can we define size of archived logs in 8.1.7?
    Thank you.

    You can not drop any logfile member which belongs to a current log group. to drop any member from non current group is
    alter database drop logfile member 'C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.1.0\ORADATA\ORCL\REDO02A.LOG';
    You can add one member in the following way as
    alter database add logfile member 'C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.1.0\ORADATA\ORCL\REDO02A.LOG' to group 2;
    But one thing all these are available in Oracle docs and you better find yourself to enhance your knowledge.
    Thanks

  • How do I change the overall size of a document including the contents?

    I have created a document for web at 1024 x 768. I would like to reduce the size of the document without having to resize all the content manually. Is there an easy way to do this?

    See my previous post: check 'Show Import Options' in Place box. then you'll get another dialog box, similar to this:
    Here you can specify page range, crop options, layers visibility.
    However, if your document contains too many pages to manage them manually (as it is on my screenshot), you should consider another option of placing - this nice Zanelli script:

  • How do I change the font size of a document when I PRINT?

    How to I change the font size of a document when I print it?

    To specifically and fully answer your question, no, you absolutely cannot change the “font size” as a function of print.
    First of all, there isn't a single “font size” associated with a PDF file (and we assume you are referring to a PDF file since this is an Acrobat forum).
    Secondly, PDF is a final form file format meaning that the content is static in terms of location, size, etc. on the page. To change the point size of any particular text, you really need to go back to the source document and make the changes there.

    I found a solution after much troubleshooting including uninstalling/reinstalling Office 2010 which didn't solve the issue.
    Here it is:
    When Outlook or some other Office program is minimized in the taskbar and won't open, right click the taskbar to bring up task manager.
    Right click the program in the task manager list that is giving trouble and click Maximize.  You should now see a full screen.
    This worked for me and solved the "open and stays minimized" delima.  Hope this helps you too.  Cheers :)
    Thanks a bunch this saved me a potential headache!

    I have a ton of documents and databases in AppleWorks v 6.0 that I can no longer open on my MacBook Pro.  Is there any way to recover this info?  Some documents can be opened and resaved with textedit, but not my database with all important addresses.

    I tried Peggy's List > Select All > Copy > Paste into an AW spreadsheet suggestion.
    In my case, pasting into the spreadsheet lost all text formatting (mostly text set to bold). The results of formulas were pasted, and checkboxes were pasted as "on" or "off". The DB did not contain any pop-up menus or radio buttons, but I expect they would transfer as a number showing the list position of the chosen item.
    Pasting the copied List view data into a Numbers table gave a result similar to that with AppleWorks. I selected B2 as the target cell (for top left cell of the pasted data) to avoid any effects of posting into a header row or column. Bold and regular text formatting looked the same as it had in AW's List view.
    Based on that, I'd slip the 'paste into an AppleWorks Spreadsheet step, and paste directly into a Numbers Table.

  • Saving a document in Database

    Hi all,
    I am opening file from Mysql server using JSP and Tomcat. It opens in the associated program not in the browser. when it opens say, a word file is opened from database in MS Word. When try to change anything on that file, if i press save then it saves but i realised that it is saving in my computers
    C:/Documents/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files/Content.IE5/UA40NN" folder
    Not saving in the MySQL database from where it was opened.
    This means that if anyone wants to change any document then they need to download that document, change it and then upload the updated version to the database.
    But this is a time cosuming process for the organisation.
    So can anyone please help me how can i save document in database by opening it and then making necessary changes in it.
    Thanks

    This means that if anyone wants to change any document then they need to >download that document, change it and then upload the updated version to the >database.Correct!!
    So can anyone please help me how can i save document in database by >opening it and then making necessary changes in it.You cannot, you will have to change the local copy, then upload it as you originally thought.
    An alternative would be to save the files on a networked drive which users can access directly. You could then store the file name and path in the database. Then when users opened the file, it would be the central copy.
    You could add code to delete documents etc. through your web interface.

  • Change Status of archived document after approval process

    hi how can we change the status of an archived document in KM after it has gone thru the approval process.
    the reason once we archive we cannot resubmit the document for approval.
    thanks

    Hi Venu,
    have a look under System Administration - System Configuration -- Knowledge Management -- Configuration --Content Management -- User Interface -- Commands -- UI Command Groups -- StatemanagementGroup.
    See Java class: com.sapportals.wcm.rendering.uicommand.cm.UIStatemanagementGroupCommand. Take the class and decompile this and everything needed around to understand how this class works.
    Then you can choose to extend this CommandGroup to also have a command "Resubmit for Approval" or you can implement your own UI Command only for resubmitting (you will also have to activate your command (group) by settings within the configuration).
    On the other hand, if all this is completely new to you, I'm a bit sceptical if the task isn't a bit too big as a first task on KM implementation topics...?
    Hope it helps

    Greeting,   Forgive me if this is the wrong forum/community.   I want to start slapd at boot time on my new leopard upgrade.  On tiger, it was as simple as having an LDAPSERVER=-YES- line in /etc/hostconfig.  That does not seem to work for leopard.
