Size of image is jumping while image is animated

Look at

move you mouse over the text and you will see a moving
locomotive picture.
Now the problem is that if you watch closely you will see
that the locomotive changes it horizontal size by 1 pixel.
There is no scaling in the flash, scale mode is set to
noScale, it is a simple tweening animationg with only
horizontal movement. I tried png and gif formats - all the
same.
Is there a way to fix this problem?

Problems as such are common with animated bitmaps in flash.
It has been around
ever since there was a timeline and tween. So at least you
know it's not your
end. You may try to place the object in some movie clip,
change the position
on the center point, try to break it apart or set the publish
setting to BEST
quality. Sometimes it works. You might also want to see if
changing smoothing
on and off will have any effect. Sometimes it does for me.
Tho, do not be upset
if you can't manage to get it right, sometimes just nothing
works...

If you mean by Pixel count the number of pixels, this will not change. The image will have the same size thus the same number of pixels.

Dropping image on canvas causes image to jump.

When I drop an image on a canvas in AIR the image "jumps" a few pixels to several from the current mouse location.
So if the mouse is at location (12, 12) and I drop the image it may appear at (10, 14), or (15, 20), or whatever. It doesn't appear to be a consistent offset like I would expect if this were caused by using global to local mouse position thing (but I'm not ruling that out anyway).
Secondly, when I then drag to move the image on the canvas the drag proxy will again jump many pixels from the mouse cursor.
Here is my mouse down handler:

Hi,
I think the only way to do this is to use a jsp with a servlet, where the servlet would create the image and send it over as a stream, while the jsp would call on the link of the servlet and display that image using the HTML <IMG> tag.
So, if you have a servlet, lets call it PictureServlet.
This is what you would do in your servet:
// create that image and send it over from the doPost/doGet method of the servlet

    throws ServletException, IOException {
response.setContentType("image/jpg"); // set the stream to be a JPEG image

sos.close(); // close the output stream

        doPost(request, response);
    } This is how you would get that image and display it in your JSP.
<img src="../servlet/PictureServlet" name="pic">Note the path might be different, depending on the hierarchy of where jsps and servlets are stored on the server.

Is there a way to resize an image using the com.day.cq.wcm.foundation.Image class? I wanted to extend the foundation image componet and have it resize to a specific height and width. Is there a way to change the size of the image before you call image.draw(out) ?

You also don't want to insert you resizing efforts prior to calling the image.draw method. The draw method doesn't actually render the image, it draws the HTML img tag that your components print out. If you were to use the ImageHelper to get the layer and resize it that would not actually change the size of the image.
Now that img tag will contain a URL to the image, and that URL will generally look something like this (unless you have customized your image components):
/path/to/your/page/_jcr_content/par/textimage/image.img.jpg/1323947520848.jpg
This URL is going to trigger a script or servlet that will be responsible for rendering the image. In the example above because the textimage component extends the parbase component and because URL includes the img selector it will end up triggering the servlet at /libs/foundation/components/parbase/img.GET.java. If you go into CRXDE Lite you can go to this file and look at the source code of this servlet and see an example of how it uses the layer to resize the image if that author edited the image in the smart image widget.
You can also see example of servlets that resize and image ot specific preset sizes (as you want to do) you can look at /apps/geometrixx-outdoors/components/product/image/thumbnail.GET.java and /apps/geometrixx-outdoors/components/product/image/nav.GET.java.
So what you would want to do is something like this:
Create your own component at /apps/mysite/components/foo
Create a servlet at /apps/mysite/components/foo/bar.GET.java - put your logic to resize the image here based on some of the examples
Create your component JSP at /apps/mysite/components/foo/foo.jsp
Create your component's dialog and in this dialog include a smart image widget - make sure you store your image on component node, not a sub-node. If you store your image on a sub-node you need to make sure the sub-node includes the same resource type as your main node).
In your component JSP when you create your foundation Image object make sure to image.setSelector("bar") before you call image.draw()
That should result in an image URL that looks like /path/to/your/page/_jcr_content/par/textimage/image.bar.jpg/1323947520848.jpg
Those steps aren't tested - so I may have missed something or mistyped something, but it should point you in the right direction.

I often proof my work in preview then edit images in photoshop and rename from there. The dsc images are renamed to correlate the name of the class etc. i.e. dcs_001 is saved as the file name required 7A.jpeg etc.
The file names are required to correlate what is what and so on..........

Windows will scale applications display or windows will not scale application display depending on how the application is coded. Photoshop is coded in a way that its display is not scaled by windows. Photoshop knows about your displays high pixel count not its resolution so it uses its pixels however it does not scale its UI to make it usable on your display. Other application let Windows scale their display output.   For example Microsoft default for is Surface Pro 3, 216 ppi display is to scale applications display up 150% so the surface pro 3 display which has 2160x1440 pixels a 216 ppi resolution look like at display with the user is using with 1440x960 pixels. The Application works like the display is 1440x960 and Windows scale those pixels to the displays using the displays 2160x1440 pixels the effectively changing it resolution to 144ppi rather than the actual 216ppi.
The reg update and external manifest file effectively tells photoshop its working on such a size display display some number of pixel wide and some number photoshop uses that as the display size in turn Windows scale those pixels to use the displays 2160x1440 pixels efector lowing its 216ppi resolution. Photoshop CC 2014 2X UI would be like using windows 200% option applications would be shown the are working on a display 1080x720 instead of the Surface Pro 3 2160x1440. Note that 1080x720 does not meet PS requirement of 1024x768. Photoshop UI would not fit on the Surface Pro 3 display..
Since you have a 4k display if you have CC 2014 you can use its 2x UI effectively Photoshop will be running on a 1920x1080 display and have half the resolution of you 4K display 3840x2160 pixels four native pixels are use as a single pixel.   1920x1080 pixels exceed PS requirement.

Images not loading while accessing portal from internet

Hi all
we are trying to publish the portal on internet. We have used apache as reverse proxy and it is in dmz .
When we access the portal from internet we are getting the login page but it is with out images (e.g branding imag etc).
we also could login in the portal but we only see the links for Help Personalize Log off , Histrory Back and Forward remaining page is blank.
Is this reverse proxy configuration issue?
Can any body help us in resolving this issue.

We are currently working on custom webdynpro application which needs to be exposed to Internet using Apache HTTP Server.
We can able to access URL, but no images are getting displayed and also the application not functioning when we click any button/links.

Image not displayed while running executable jar ?????

hello everyone...i have developed a game like mario and everything is happening well......
i have created an executable jar file of my game so that i can distribute it to my friends.............
now the problem is :
my all the images that are used in my game are in "Images folder", so when i run my executable jar file outside the reach of images folder than images does not get displayed on my game.................i mean when jar file is located beside my images folder then images get displayed but if i move my jar file to some other location then images doesn't get displayed.......
i have included images folder inside my executable jar file.....but same problem arises......
in my game, to display images i have used this code:
Image img=new ImageIcon("Images\\hero.gif").getImage();
so Images folder should be located at the same directory where my game is located....................
so can anyone tell me why this is happening ?
i want to execute jar file even if i relocate my jar file(i've put images folder inside jar).......

inside my jar , i have these three folders:
engine play res manifest.txt
engine and play are packages
to load an image i have used these code
Image img=new ImageIcon("res\\t.gif").getImage();
to draw image:
g2d.drawImage(img,x,y,this);
i had also used what u said :
img=ImageIO.read(Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(path));
Note: earlier u adviced me ImageIO.read(Thread.getContextClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("res/y.gif"));
getContextClassLoader() is not an static method so i can't acess it from static context.It gave me compilation error.so i used Thread.currentThread().getContextClassLoader().
and i haven't used BufferedImage.I have used Just Image.

Open original image instead of cached image

While the title in itself is rather self explanatory, I'll elaborate somewhat. The current state of opening sent images means opening the cached version - the file name is wrong in that case, and often times the cached image is in wrong format or size, perhaps even compressed too much; Which might not be the preferable action for a large number of people. Could we possibly get a toggle in Options, or even default left-clicking images to opening the actual image, rather than the image cache?

Sorry for this late response. I tried the method you pointed to, but it did not work properly, but I got to doing what I wanted to by changing the .css for the classes and also making a new class in the SpryValidationTextField.css etc.and then applying it in the source code among the span tags.

Selecting Multiple Images to Copy - Fragmented Image

Hello!
I made a pdf out of a powerpoint presentation on a friend's windows computer. I am now trying to extract an image that I lost while editing on my computer. The problem I have run into is that the image was fragmented into multiple pieces in the PDF (1 image is now 3 parts). I cannot seem to select all of the images and do "copy images" as you can with one part.
I can select all the pieces with the touchup object tool and edit them in illustrator and then manipulate them but this is very much the long way around.
Since I have to do this with many graphics, I am trying not to take the long route. Is there a way to select multiple images and copy them? Or is there a way to select everything with the touchup object tool and just copy it to the clipboard?
Any thoughts?

I am also running into this issue. I happens in PDFs coming from all programs that our clients use to produce the PDFs. InDesign, Publisher, Word, WordPerfect.
My question is: back in CS3 days, I could select all the images (one image that broke into any number of horizontal sections) with the TouchUp tool and select>edit objects...They would all open as one image in photoshop, I could do my edits, save and then replace what I had on the PDF with the new saved file (jpg or pdf or tiff).
We upgraded to CS5 and now I can't do that anymore. I go into my PDF, select all parts of the image and then edit, but only the first part I selected is editable. I would like to say that it's a CS5 issue, but we had one machine, back when we all had CS3, that would do the same (not edit all the parts as one). I'm thinking it's some sort of preference or combination of preferences in both Acrobat and Photoshop, but I can't figure it out.
I know one runaround is the "Snapshot Tool," but it was much better before when we could edit what we needed and that's it.

P.S.: Please don't judge me about Illustrator VS. Photoshop...they REFUSE to give us Illustrator at work, for some reason ($$$). If only they knew the amount of time and file size that Illustrator saves, they'd invest in 5 measly licenses.

How to overlay color image over a grayscale image without IMAQ?

I would like to display a color image over a grayscale image; I would like the color image look translucent. How would I do this without using IMAQ functions? I am currently displaying my grayscale image using Intensity Graph.

Transparency and overlays are really just arithmetic on the images. It
is either done by the windowing system or by you. At the moment you
can't set transparency on LV controls. You can set it on LV floating
windows on some OSes, but then you will need to have the windows lined up.
A more direct approach is to lighten or darken the color image elements
based upon whether they will display over white, black, or a shade of
gray. If the images don't have the same size pixels, this will have a
first step of resampling th
e images so they do. Then combine the pixels
using the transparency you were going to apply to the color and the
shade of gray beneath it. I'm being vague here because there are lots
of physical models for combining colors.
If I look in my paint program I see about fifteen, so this is where you
get to make a choice and decide if black behind a red pixel is black, or
dark red. It all depends on whether these are two transparent
images(acetate sheets) backlit, or is it a transparency over a
nontransmitting media like paper. Anyway, if you can be more specific
about what you want, none of this is hard, typically just scaling the
int32s, adding, and some sort of normalization.
