Open original image instead of cached image

While the title in itself is rather self explanatory, I'll elaborate somewhat. The current state of opening sent images means opening the cached version - the file name is wrong in that case, and often times the cached image is in wrong format or size, perhaps even compressed too much; Which might not be the preferable action for a large number of people. Could we possibly get a toggle in Options, or even default left-clicking images to opening the actual image, rather than the image cache?

Hi Gramps,
Sorry for this late response. I tried the method you pointed to, but it did not work properly, but I got to doing what I wanted to by changing the .css for the classes and also making a new class in the SpryValidationTextField.css etc.and then applying it in the source code among the span tags.
I have a new question, but will post it separately.

  • I don't get a fluent blending( the transparant 'checkboard layer' merge with  the images instead) of the images i like to blend

    I like to fluently blend in more images , When i use the gradient tool and hold down the shift key to draw a line , i see no fluent transition of the two images, instead part of image fades into a tranpanrant ' check board' layer instead.
    What goes wrong here?

    I am refering to the tutorial above..

    Yes, I understand it's not always easy to grasp to what goes on on the other side.
    I already tried the above though nothing seemed to work
    I had to use the paint brush as well but  in reverse setting to get the desired result. If I dont use paint brush the checkboard appears  thus it wont merg/ blend the images.
    I don't understand how the guy in the video did this  but with photoshop cc 2014 it seems to work different, apparantly.

  • Dynamic image showing default image instead of requested image

    I'm using CR4E v2.0 to incorporate reports into my application which is built into an ear file and deployed with Jboss 4.2.2 at the moment. I have an image in my report that I am trying to set dynamically from a URL in a database,  but when the report is run only the default image shows up. The URL in the database for the logo is http://localhost:8087/module_Reporting/Logo.gif and I verified that exact string is being returned to the report, but the image is not changing from the default placeholder.
    The formula for the graphic location is:
    HdrPictureLogoClient : Graphic Location
    // Return values: Any string value.
    If Not IsNull({REPORT_PARAMETER_FACT.LOGO_URL_PATH})
    Then {REPORT_PARAMETER_FACT.LOGO_URL_PATH}
    Else "";
    I'm using a com.crystaldecisions.report.web.viewer.CrystalReportViewer in my jsp page to display the report and this is the part of the page that handles the viewer
    CrystalReportViewer crystalReportPageViewer = new CrystalReportViewer();
    // If the report is not saved in the session you just keep getting prompted for parameters
    Object reportSource = session.getAttribute("ReportSource");
    if (reportSource == null)
         reportSource = clientDoc.getReportSource();
         session.setAttribute("ReportSource", reportSource);
    //     set the reportsource property of the viewer
    crystalReportPageViewer.setReportSource(reportSource);
    // setting the optoins in the Crystal Report toolbar
    crystalReportPageViewer.setDisplayGroupTree(false);
    crystalReportPageViewer.setHasToggleGroupTreeButton(false);
    crystalReportPageViewer.setHasSearchButton(false);
    crystalReportPageViewer.setHasRefreshButton(false);
    crystalReportPageViewer.processHttpRequest(request, response, application, null);
    The viewer is contained in an iFrame and is disposed of in the containing jsp.
    Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you very much for your reply, but I am not trying to add an image into the report at run time, I am trying to change the source of the image. There is an image in the report as a place holder (called HdrPictureLogoClient) and the code that handles the source of the image is in the .rpt file also as this formula:
    HdrPictureLogoClient : Graphic Location
    // Return values: Any string value.
    If Not IsNull({REPORT_PARAMETER_FACT.LOGO_URL_PATH})
    Then {REPORT_PARAMETER_FACT.LOGO_URL_PATH}
    Else "";
    {/code}
    I have discovered that it works just fine with a file path name like C:\logo.png in the database but it does not work with my web URL.
    I just find it extra interesting because when the report was originally created in a Crystal Reports Project in myEclipse and deployed as an expanded war directly to jboss running in myEclipse it worked fine, but now that it is being incorporated into an EJB project which is built into an ear file that is deployed in a jboss service running outside of myEclipse it no longer works.

  • Podpress image instead of my image for podcast in iTunes

    I have my podcast on iTunes but the image that is coming up is the generic Podpress image not my logo.  I think I have all the settings correct
    My podcast feed - http://www.theleantimes.com/feed/podcast/
    My itunes feed id 511754550
    iTunes link http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-lean-times-podcast-feed/id511754550?ign-m pt=uo%3D4
    I had the correct image loaded before I put the podcast on iTunes.
    Please help! This is driving me crazy.

    Your 'itunes:image' tag looks like this:
    <itunes:image href="http://www.theleantimes.com/blog/wp-content/plugins/podpress/images/powered_by_p odpress_large.jpg" />
    which you can see is the Podpress image (the link doesn't work because the forum has inserted a space which I can't remove, but it is to the Podpress image). I imagine that they place that there themselves and won't allow you to change it, unless there is somewhere you can input it and you haven't done so correctly.

  • Save Image instead of opening link

    I have created email signature with several links from images used in signature. It works well on all PCs, iPad and works on iPhone if I will use attachments in email. But if it is simple email with this signature than on iPhone clicking on image results in Save Image prompt instead of opening link. The temporary solution I am using is to use dummy attachment. Can I have it working without attachment ?

    Hi ,
    It looks like your report column is set to display as Text. Go to "Home>Application Builder>Application #>Page #>Interactive Report Attributes" and change it to Standard report Column and you should be all set.
    Thanks,
    Manish

    when I open an album, thumbnail appear as dotted outlines instead of the image itself. Are my settings set improperly? How do I fix this?

    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

  • When I close Firefox and re-open it, all previously cached images are NOT loaded from cache. Why?

    I have a website. Google recommended page-speed and I had previously installed fire-bug. I open Firefox and inspect my website - the home page loads in approx 2 seconds. I may follow a variety of links and all images ( expiry life of 3 months ), css and js files ( expiry life 1 hour ) are cached so that each screen loaded takes less time. If I close firefox get on with other work and then re-open it, its like the images were never cached - what's the point of caching if its ignored?

    Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox or use cleanup software that clears session data (sessionstore.js)

  • Menu Buttons Change Image instead of Highlighting?

    Does anyone know how to/or if it's possible to make a DVD menu in Photoshop for Encore where, when the menu button is highlighted it actually changes image instead of making it a solid highlighted colour?
    For example...
    In a DVD i'm making, I have Cartoon images that are the menu buttons. I would like to make it so that when you select it on your dvd player it makes the eyes open up wider and mouths of the characters open up. I have made the duplicate layers and changed one to have the open eyes and mouth and placed it directly ontop of the other and put both layers in the one group with the (+) to allow Encore to recognize it. But all I get is the top layer of the two turning to a top colour. I know that using prefixes like (=1) makes it highlighted and that is why it's highlighting but I don't know what else to suggest. I've looked at the prefixes on the Encore help on this site and tried to work it out but no luck
    I know this is due to my lack of knowledge and really need some help to fix it, or know if it's even possible (I assume tht using such great products as Adobe it will be)
    Thanx

    Welcome to the forum.
    This is easily done by doing dupe Menus for each Button. The Button on the original Menu will be set to Auto-Activate, and be linked to the dupe Menu with the different graphic. I would probably turn OFF Sub-picture Highlights.
    The trick is to do a layout, and also name your Menus (especially the dupes), to reflect exactly what they do. I use Illustrator for my layout, but pencil and paper work well too.
    Note: if run on a computer, the user will need to Dbl-click the Button, as Auto-Activate only works seamlessly from a DVD set-top player.
    There are several other posts on this forum (a few very recent), where I go into much more detail. Also, Jeff Bellune's excellent book, The Focal Easy Guide to Adobe EncoreDVD 2.0, by Focal Press, has excellent, easy to follow steps for doing this. Though written for EncoreDVD 2.0, 100% of the book will apply to CS3 & CS4.
    Good luck,

  • How to cache images retrieved from MDM on Java WebAS

    Hello Colleagues,
    We have a scenario where we are trying to retrieve image records from the MDM using Java APis. Instead of hitting the DB everytime, is there a way to implement caching? For instance, is it possible to cache the images on the java WebAS and return the path of the images instead of returning the byte stream everytime?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Nisha

    Hi Nisha,
    You can use the Class ObjectCache from the Java API.

  • Opening jpgs as raw... image size

    My office color corrects thousands of images per day for newsprint. These come in mostly as jpgs and some tifs and eps files. Most of these need a lot of color correction work, and I've found that opening jpgs with the RAW dialogue box and tweaking them there can be a huge time-saver (one menu with a bunch of sliders, versus opening curves, shadow highlight, hue/sat, color balance, etc.)
    However! There are two things preventing us from utilizing the ability to open jpgs and using the raw dialogue box:
    1. Image size. We are dealing with images from several customers who need us to maintain their original image size and dpi, whatever that may be. Other customers want us to maintain the width/height and rasample the image down to 200dpi. (example: take this 3x5" @ 956dpi and make it 3x5" @ 200dpi) If I open one of their images in raw, I don't know what the original width/height were because the file has been resized to whatever I used on the last image. I've noticed it defaults to 240. The original jpg dpi changes with each image we get. Is there any way to make the raw dialogue box not change the image size? Which leads me to...
    2. Once I've opened a jpg using the raw dialogue box it will always open up again in raw (always changing the image size.) If I want to just open my jpg as a regular image in photoshop, I have to go to camera raw preferences and disable the ability to use raw on jpgs. Is there a faster way to ignore the raw settings on a jpg once it has been altered as raw?
    So this is why we don't use raw, even though it'd be a huge advantage for us to be able to make these color corrections. If anyone has any ideas how to get around these, or even an easier workflow, I'd appreciate it!

    For #1, if you look at the image in Bridge you can note the dimensions and resolution...you would then need to put that same resolution in the ACR resolution field.
    For #2, no...as you note the ACR Preference controls whether or not Camera Raw will be used to open the image. You can use the Shift key when double clicking in Bridge to open the image directly into Photoshop and bypass the ACR dlog, but Camera Raw will still be used if it's set to be used in the Preferences...
    You'll need to keep your image resizing just in Photoshop because Camera Raw is not designed to do that sort of resize/resampling...it's designed first and foremost as a raw processor and later added the ability to open and process camera JPEGs and TIFFs. Putting those kind of controls into Camera Raw wouldn't make sense since the end result of an image opened into Camera Raw is supposed to be an image processed and opened into Photoshop. So, what you are wishing for is really outside of the scope of the development design...sorry.

  • Origin location in a corrected image (using calibration data)

    Hi there,
    I am using the vision toolkit to correct deformation in images.
    I am not using the dot grid template to let the software generate the calibration
    map, but instead use a set of points (which I can precisely define
    in the deformed image) and provide their respective "real world"
    coordinates. I can then apply this correction to other images.
    Up to now everything is fine.
    Now I want to overlay two sets of images, which are deformed
    differently (for instance, they represent the same object, but have
    been imaged in slightly different conditions). I
    can correct one set using the approach above, and the other separately, using
    its own separate correction, but I am stuck there.
    Each calibration/correction is characterized by a scaling factor and an
    origin coordinate. I need both to be able to overlay the two sets of images.
    I have chosen non-linear calibrations that preserves area and I figured a
    way to recover the scaling factor by computing the areas of all the square
    pattern in my set of calibration points (as computed in the original image), taking
    the average and then the square root of this average area: this gives the
    spacing between equidistant points in the corrected image.
    However, I can't figure out how to get the location of the origin in the
    corrected image. One of my calibration points is associated with position
    (0, 0) in the real world. However, this is neither its position (in pixel unit)
    in the original image or the corrected image. I need the latter. How can I
    obtain it simply (I can think of sophisticated ways to obtain it, but I suspect
    there might be trivial one).
    Thanks in advance for your answer.
    Sincerely,
    X.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Dear X,
    I'm not sure if this is the information that you are looking for, but take a look in the Vision Concepts Manual, page 3-10
    start»programs»National Instruments»Vision»Documentation»NI Vision»Concepts_Manual.pdf
    "If you specify a list of points instead of a grid for the calibration process,
    the software defines a default coordinate system, as follows:
    1. The origin is placed at the point in the list with the lowest x-coordinate
    value and then the lowest y-coordinate value.
    2. The angle is set to zero.
    3. The axis direction is set to indirect."
    If not, I don't know of a good way to recover the transformation between an original image and a correct image for a specific pixel. It would be one thing if it were a simple linear calibration, but we don't have access to the algorithm used to apply the nonlinear correction, which changes based on the locations of the distortion in the image.
    What are you looking for in overlaying the images? Are you doing a comparison?
    I don't know the constraints of your project, but one thing you could try is doing a pattern or geometric match for a unique feature in both of the corrected images that you want to overlay (one you know the location of, and that will serve to align the images properly), and then define the coordinate system based on that match.
    Hope that helps!
    ~Nate

  • HELP: Images in Library/Caches/Desktop

    I REALLY have to recover an image which I believe is now in the folder Library/Caches/Desktop/ and has ".dpCache" as extension (and don't know how it got there since it was regularly on my desktop and disappeared from anywhere else in the computer). I read a post in the forum dated two years ago, where somebody said it's impossible to recover such files. But this photo is very important for my job. I was wandering if somebody out there knows of any new way, developed in these last two years, of opening up and saving these items. If you do, please be "simple", I'm not an expert!
    THANK YOU!
    Viva
    (if i'm in the wrong section of the forum
    please redirect me...thanks again!)

    it's impossible to recover an image for a cache file like that. your only hope (since you clearly don't have a backup) is data recovery software like Data Rescue II or FileSalvage.

  • Location of cached images from RSS screenblanker

    Where does the screenblanker cache images from an RSS feed?
    I have been using my own Picasa album as source for the screenblanker for more than a year now. A few days ago, images not originating from my album started to show up. At the moment I am not sure if this was a temporary glitch and these images are now taken from the local  cache, or if this is a permanent problem. As new "alien" images are added constantly, I assume the problem is still present.
    When looking at the raw RSS feed, I can't find any hint for images not from my Picasa album, so I don't think this is Google's fault. Has Apple started to "enrich" the feed with other images someone deems interesting?

    The iPhoto library is a SQLite database and must always be treated as a single entity - you can not ever do anything to the individual components of the database
    Moving it is simple - make sure that the EHD is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) - this is the required format for the iPhoto library) and is connected using a fast hard wired connection like USB, FireWire, Thunderbolt, etc - and then quit iPhoto and drag the library intact as a single entity to the external drive - hold down the option key while launching iPhoto until the select librarywindogw appears and select the new location - fully test it and once you are positive it is complete and at least one successful backup cycle has run so it is backed up in the new location and working you can trash the old library - test one ore time before emptying the trash
    And verify that your backup is backing up the EHD (by default some like TM do not backup the EHD)

  • Open or Save option to download images in JSP

    Hi,
    I am working on a image bank application that uploads, searches for images saved in a File Server.
    When the user searches for the images I retrieve the images and I need to give them an option to download the image on click (the same like the browser asking for Open or Save).
    Any help is appreciated.

    I did the same work but I used a Servlet and not a JSP. This is because JSPs format output to be an HTML text and not a binary stream. Instead servlets can used to output any type of stream you want.
    Note that some browsers ignore content type header statement, i'm not surprising if IE will open the file with microsoft excel because it detects the extension of the filename you give it in the Content-Disposition.

  • Caching images to disk

    I am writing a web-start application that will be downloading hundreds of JPEG 2000 files over the net. This application will also need to iterate effectively over these images. Clearly it is not possible to cache 300-400 images in memory, rather I store these images on disk (this is a signed app). I then have a priority based cache where I can explicitly cache a "window" of images depending upon which image a user is currently looking at and the images "near" that image.
    Here is my problem, the time it takes to save the JPEG 2000 file to disk, then to read it back in as a BufferedImage is too slow. If I were dealing with C/C++ I would write the actual BufferedImage into a large swap file with a pointer always open to it. Then I could read the image directly from swap.
    Since BufferedImage is not serializable, nor are its components, what are my options?

    There is only one image displayed at a time, however the user can move at move through the images so fast that it is almost a movie. the images are always displayed at 1024 x 1024 and 16 bpp. They must be full resolution JPEG 2000 images. When I did the initial testing with JPEG it was very fast, but the requirements call for JPEG 2000 at 16 bit pixel depth. Also because the images are "sensitive" they must also be encrypted on the hard disk in such a way that if the user looses his/her session, the images cannot be decrypted again. This also slows down the loading process. It seams that the ImageIO API to read a JPEG 2000 image at full resolution through an encryption stream (CodecInputStream) is slower than I would like. This may just be a limitation of Java. I've been lobbying my bosses to let me write the image disk cache in C as a native library, but they're against it. So I'm trying to find a workaround in Java.
