Size of the Curves dialog in Ps CC

Can you increase the size of the curves dialog bix beyond the maximum it scales to when you drag the corner out? I'd like to be able to adjust it more finely.

Hi,
I don't think you can.
It looks like it resizes to about the same size as previous versions of photoshop.
One thing you can do though is change to a detailed grid in the curves dialog under Curves Display Options

  • Is it possible to increase the size of the CURVES window?

    Hello,
    I am using LR 5 and love the CURVES tool.
    But I find it a bit small... is there a way to increase its size or even, to send it to a full other monitor?
    Ideas?
    Thanks!

    NO   Even dragging the panel wider does not change the size of the curves box, it just puts more gray space on each side.  I agree it would be nice if the box got bigger when changing the panel size.

  • How to set the size of an open dialog

    HI Everyone:
    I cannot set the size of the open dialog.
    I create a menu and menu item called "open"
    The menu item "open" will call OpenFile().
    However, I cannot set the size of the open dialog
    Everytime when the open dialog pops up
    the size isn't 500 x 500.
    Does anyone know what's wrong with this program ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Rodger
    ================================================================
    public void OpenFile(){
    JFileChooser fc = new JFileChooser();
    fc.setSize(new Dimension(500,500));
    fc.setFileSelectionMode(JFileChooser.FILES_AND_DIRECTORIES);
    fc.showOpenDialog(this);

    Try this and then tell us if it worked:
    JFileChooser fc = new JFileChooser();
    fc.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(500,500));
    fc.setFileSelectionMode(JFileChooser.FILES_AND_DIRECTORIES);
    JDialog d = new JDialog(new JFrame());
    d.setSize(500, 500);
    d.getContentPane().setLayout(new FlowLayout());
    d.getContentPane().add(fc);
    d.setVisible(true);

  • It's time to fix the Curves adjustment layer

    Many Photoshop users consider the Curves panel to be Photoshop's most important feature. For many Curves users, the Layer panel introduced in CS4 does not offer the speed, the instinctive use, nor the superior results of the older Curves Layer panel. The Curves dialog includes all the features that long-time users rely on. Some of these features have not been included in the Adjustment Layer version. They should all be available in the Layers panel, too.

    Adobe has already done a few things to fix the early complaints about the Curves panel. You can assign a keyboard shortcut to the Targeted Adjustment Tool so that you don't have to click the icon with the mouse. In the Keyboard Shortcut editor, choose Tools from the Shortcuts For menu, then scroll down until you find Targeted Adjustment Tool. There is no shortcut right now, because basically all of them are already in use. You get to pick the shortcut to give up in another part of the program. This shortcut can make it faster to add points by clicking the image (for fans of the old Command-click technique).
    Once your points are added, you can still move them with the arrow keys as you always could. Also (a lot of people don't know this), you can select the next/previous points along your curve by pressing the + or - keys. So if you just need to fine-tune each point, when any point is selected just press + or - to step over to the point you want to adjust and then start hitting the arrow keys.
    If you put these techniques together, it comes very close to the old Command-click and arrow-key techniqes in the old Curves dialog. In the Curves panel you can perform the adjustments described below, using the keyboard to both navigate and adjust the curve points while keeping your eye on the Info panel and the curve shape.

    The alternative approach is to command-click or shift-command-click on the light point, leave the cursor at that location, and then manipulate the curve point (or points) with the arrow keys. This lets you evaluate changes with the Info panel values which are more reliable than the display appearance. After following the same steps for a dark point, flat sections of the curve can repaired by adding additional points and dragging to straighten the curve throughout the range of the important image areas. The focus should be the Info panel numbers and the shape of the curve.
    Now as far as the size of the graph goes...

    So that there is a qualitative change in how they behave isn't a deal breaker for me unless things like resolution (of the curve change not pixels!) suffers, which in turn is connected to how well one can see and manipulate the curve points. That is where the diminished size of the plot comes into play.
    A lot of people have complained about the smaller size of the Curves panel, but it's only a disadvantage if the Curves panel is left at its default size. If you max out the size of the Curves panel, it turns out that the plot areas in the old Curves dialog and the new Curves panel are both 256 x 256px...exactly the same!

  • What's the size of the printable area?

    Hi,
    im trying to do some printing using the Printable interface.
    But inside the print method I can't find the correct dimensions for the printable area, set by the page object.
    Could someone provide me with a print method, which prints a rectangle which outlines the printable area?
    Thanx in advance

  • Curves Dialog Pigment/Ink% option

    Is there anyway to control the Pigment/Ink% radio button from a javascript?
    The scriptlistener doesn't seem to record this setting unless i'm missing something. Even if I can't directly control it is there a way to create some type of default/preset, etc that I can load such that the curves dialog will open in this mode?
    Dave

    Woops... I just found that the Curves Adjustment layer flyout has a Curves Display Options that allows the setting - and it is sticky.  Sorry for the waste bandwidth.

  • How can i reverse the function of the curves in the modify curves dialog

    in much older version of PS, there was a little set of arrows to reverse the function of the curves in the modify curves dialog. i miss this greatly, since I've been using them opposite from the standard direction for over 20 years.

  • I would like to know how to increase the window size and message font size on the the Three Button Dialog.vi

    I like using the Three Button Dialog .vi. However, I am doing a job were I need to use a larger font size. I tried to adjust the core vi but could not make it do what I wanted. Any help would be great.

    1: VI Properties Window Size- Check maintain proportions of window for different monitor resolutions.  (Your users will thank you)
    Jeff,
    Why do you think that is a good idea?  When I opened your VI on my screen, the buttons were cut off at the bottom, and there was a slight cutoff on the right side.  Without scrollbars or the ability to resize the panel, (which I generally wouldn't want on a dialog box anyway) there is no way to be able to see the whole dialog.
    Did your VI show all of the buttons and show all of the text box?  On mine it looked like this.
    What was your screen resolution and your monitor aspect ratio?  Mine is 1680 x 1050 for a 16:10 ratio.  I think you will have problems with checking this box.  I would recommend unchecking it.  Suppose you programmed on a 16:10 screen, but someone else has a 16:9, or even a 4:3.  That is going to screw up the appearance of the dialog unless you take the time to resize the buttons and text inside the dialog.  (And I feel checking the resize option inside the Window Appearance settings just never works right either.)
    If I was the user, I'd appreciate a dialog box that wasn't cut off.

  • Photosmart C410: How do I associate a custom paper size with the photo tray?

    Our Photosmart 3310 recently broke down and I purchased a C410 to replace it.  I sell a small item online that I ship in 3 5/8 x 6 1/2 envelopes.  With the 3310, I had figured out a way to print the envelopes from the photo tray.  While Word 2007 allows me to select the photo tray, the printer would not print from there until I created a custom paper size in the printer preferences dialog box.
    One of the reasons I got the C410 was for the photo tray.  It's a real pain to have to swap out the regular paper and stick in one evelope every time I want to print another envelope.  Well, unfortunately, that's what I've been doing.  I select the photo tray in Word, but the printer goes right ahead and prints from the main tray.  I had forgotten what I did to make it work on the 3310, so I experimented with that printer's drivers until I figured it out.
    My problem is that the software interface for the C410 is different than that for the 3310.  I can't figure out how to associate a custom paper size with the photo tray.  To test my theory this evening, I told Word that my envelope size was 5 x 7.  The printer didn't hesitate to take an envelope from the photo tray.  Of course the return address went into a dark void because the envelope is not 5 x 7.
    The difference between the two interfaces is that the 3310 has both printing shortcuts as well as "Print Task Quick Sets."  The C410 only has printing shortcuts.
    If anyone can help me, I'll be very grateful!  I've probably spent hours trying to get this figured out, and I have no idea what to do.

    Hi,
    Which Microsoft product (application) are you using ? Printer supports the following custom sizes:
    From ADF: Custom-sized media (ADF) between 127 to 216 mm wide and 241 to 305 mm long (5 to 8.5 inches wide and 9.5 to 12 inches long)
    From input tray: Custom-sized media between 76.2 to 216 mm wide and 101 to 762 mm long (3 to 8.5 inches wide and 4 to 30 inches long)
    You need to select right custom size from the application.
    Regards.

  • Current View option in  the Print dialog box

    I have a PDF file, approximately 55 pages that is comrpised of 50+ .jpg images that were combined into a single PDF file. The images are various size screenshots from Facebook.
    I need to be able to print the entire file at 75% magnification in order for every page to be readable.  Only way in Adobe’s print dialog box that I can find to do so is select one page at a time, select “Current View” and then print.
    When "All" is selected under Print Range in the Print Dialog box, the pages print at different magnifications, most below 10% and unreadable.
    Is there a way to get the entire document to print in the “Current View” setting or at a specified magnification?
    I’m using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    duh...
    Figured out I had to tweak it in the "copies and Pages"

  • Save as PDF and Save PDF as PostScript options in the Printer dialog are not supported.

    I downloaded Indesign CS3 trial and liked everything about it until I attempted to print to postscript and got that message. Nothing I have tried has helped. I have seen in various forums that others are having the same problem, but haven't found any solution offered. I am running Tiger 10.4.10 on a new Intel Imac with 3G ram. This is a procedure I use very often in my workflow, and have never had this problem with CS2 on my PC or other Macs. Is there a solution? I downloaded the .1 update and installed that and it didn't change anything.

    PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME.
    Its the first time Im using print booklet option to save my file. I have the same problem when trying to save as pdf and get the
    "The Save as PDF and Save PDF as PostScript options in the Printer dialog are not supported."
    I'm trying to save a .pdf of a booklet of a facing pages document of A4 size each facing page for a whole size A3, then hope to let the pages be correctly arranged by inDesing, then print and staple.
    Meaning pages will be like this - Page #60 left side [of the A3] - page #1 right side [of the A3] , page # 2 right side[of the A3] - page #59 left side[of the A3] etc...
    I CANT DO IT. I tried to follow Melvin Thompson , but when I choose save .ps and open it in preview all I see is independent a4 pages and just the left ones , .. How can I save my file as .pdf ready to be printed in a3 ?
    I really appreciate any help.

  • How do I change the size of the tools and the text for the menus in Photoshop?  I need a magnifying glass in order to make out what they are.

    How do I change the size of the tools and the text for the menus in Photoshop?  I need a magnifying glass in order to make out what they are.

    Okay, I've figured it out, so I'm going to answer my own question in hopes that it may help anyone else that would like to actually be able to see what they're doing when using Photoshop CC 2014 on a high resolution screen.
    1.  Open Photoshop.
    2.  Select Preferences from the Edit Menu, then select General.
    3.  Change the HUD Color Picker to Hue Strip (Medium).
    4.  Select Interface from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
    5.  Change the UI Font Size to Large in the Text area of the Preferences dialog box.
    6.  Select Experimental Features from the Preferences menu on the left side of the dialog box.
    7.  Select Scale UI 200% for high-density displays (Windows only).
    8.  Click on OK, then Exit/Quit Photoshop.
    9.  Open Photoshop and everything should be readable.

  • How to set the size of the frame in the decoration controls

    Hi,
    I am drawing some frames or boxes using the patterns in the "Decorations" control in labview.
    Is there other way to set the size of the frames or boxes rather than to drag them? also how can I change the color of the borders?
    Thanks,
    Joyce
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Select the item.  Go to the Resize Objects button on the toolbar.  Pick the last one which shows a resize within a dialog bubble.  Now a dialog pops up which lets you define the height and width.
    To color something, Shift right click to bring up the toolbox.  Pick the paint brush.  Click on the thing you want to change such as the border.  It might now be the wrong color, so right click which brings up the color picker.  Now select the color you actually want.  If you want something to be transparent, pick the T at the upper right corner of the color dialog box.
