SkipJak and Ecommerce

I am having issues with getting the eCommerce Webtools to properly send informaiton thorgh the gateway without an error.. Is there a way to see how the mapping is done within Webtools to be sure the fields are being sent to the credit card gateway as they want to see it?
I am being asked by them if a certain field is mapped to a particular field name they want to see.
The gateway is Skipjack if that helps anyone...
Thanks

I believe Skipjack requires a phone number and email address to be passed to the gateway. You can enable this in the Payment Method setup for each card type. Go to Restrictions tab and click checkboxes for Email and Phone.

  • Advanced Question about Sub Domain and eCommerce

Question for you experts out there.  I have a company, with 5 divisions, that is wanting a website. The parent company, as well as the 5 divisions would like to have their own separate product listings in an ecommerce site.  Can I set up business catalyst to have parentcompany.com as well as division1.parentcompany.com, division2.parentcompany.com etc, and have them share one ecommerce by having their separate products listed as categories? Also, can I style each category differently to match the particular divisions?  Thanks in advance, I know this one is a little confusing but I appreciate all your help out there.

    Hello,
You can have sub-domains within BC that can have their own start page. Then for the e-commerce you would just need to give each catalog a different template that you can use CSS to style differently. The Overall Layout will have to be the same, but the look can be changed up to accommodate each division.
    Hope this helps,

  • Saving as HTML and ecommerce site

Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to save as an html file like i can save as a pdf file using IWEB.
Also, is there a better program or templates where I can download some ecommerce style frames? cause i noticed that iweb is primarily used for blogs. i can use it to make what i want, but just wondering if there was an easier way that helps me with the type of site i am building.
I am new to apple and webpages.
    Thanks

Hi, I was wondering if there was a way to save as an
html file like i can save as a pdf file using IWEB.
If you want access to all the HTML files that iWeb publishes for you, the easiest thing to do would be to use "Publish to Folder" and select a folder on your desktop for iWeb to dump the HTML files into.
Also, is there a better program or templates where I
can download some ecommerce style frames? cause i
noticed that iweb is primarily used for blogs. i can
use it to make what i want, but just wondering if
there was an easier way that helps me with the type
    of site i am building.
sboben over at 11mystics.com has had lots of experience tinkering with the templates in iWeb. I would take a gander at her site and see if anything there points you in the right direction for alternate templates.
If any of this information is useful to you, please do me a favor and mark my reply as "solved" or "helpful" using the little buttons that you see in the title bar of this reply. I would appreciate it immensely. Thank you.

  • Muse and eCommerce without Coding

We have created small sites using DW but not being coders prefer to use Muse where possible.
We have been asked to create a new ecommerce site for a client. The products are all downloadable files; there are no physical products to fulfill. They have a site that already sells some of their products but they want to move away from the current proprietary ecommerce solution and web design combination.
The BC eCommerce option looks attractive but I want to be sure we can deliver before saying yes to the client. These are my concerns:
How easy is it to create the forms necessary to expedite payments etc without coding, is an understanding of PHP required?
We will inherit the existing payment gateway. What are the technical issues involved in payment processing?
We have a Creative Cloud/CS6 subscription and last time I enquired the BC that this uses seemed to be on a different track to the standalone BC, is this still the case?
Sorry for being a bit long-winded but I couldn’t compress my questions any further.
PS. Is there an option for a subscription based model for downloading products to run in conjunction to a payment per download one?

    Hi Graham,
Checkout forms are a built in part of BC, no PHP coding required.
The payment gateways currently supported are: http://www.businesscatalyst.com/features/payment-gateways
To build a webcommerce site you have to setup a new bc account, as current creative cloud subscriptions offer free webBasics sites that can not be upgraded. Here's some info on the partner program as well: http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/business-catalyst/faq.html#partner-program
Products inside the commerce module can be marked as downloadable files right out of the box.
Regarding the posibility of adding a subscription based model, you could setup subscribing customers as wholesalers and set a wholesaler price as well for all products( of value "0")
    Kind Regards,
    Alex

  • Creating a ecommerce website with Muse and BC

    Hello,
I would like to create my site in Muse, then add a catalog in with business catalyst but i don't know if i will be able to continue editing the site in Muse once i upgrade it to webcommerce plan in business catalyst.
I also would like to know how it works when i integrate the catalog in Muse. Do i add a HTML code in a page in Muse then the visitor will be able to navigate in the catalog in the same Muse page? What are the steps to follow to implement a catalog in a Muse website?
I already watched some tutorials but never found specific answers.
    Thanks for your help.
    Élara.

Hi there, Do a bit of a forum search as there are a few topics on the Muse and eCommerce already.
You can kind of do something but Muse is more of a beginer tool to build basic websites for graphic designers. Its not really a web building tool.
There is a lot to eCommerce and you need to really understand BC, its modules, UI design, HTML, CSS and Javascript to implement eCommerce on BC correctly and get stuck in with coding.

  • Muse; Business Catalyst; Ecommerce. Need input!

    HEY EVERYBODY!
    Alrighty then. Here's the situation.
Working in Muse, doing quite a few sites with it. Great stuff. Also a Business Catalyst Partner (Branding level soon! Woot!)
Let me get this out of the way first: I'm not a code expert. Hence the reason we were attracted to the Muse / BC solution in the first place. However, while I don't "do code" on a regular basis, I can make my way around with reasonable success using Firefox and Firebug to inspect elements and do "reverse engineering" where necessary. That said, again, Muse and BC as a business / marketing and ecommerce solution is very appealing with the concept of building the site and navigation in Muse and then inserting the modules via the "HTML" object is very sweet and a big timesaver and headache reducer.
Now that you have the basic "backstory", here is the issue at hand:
A couple of upcoming clients are going to be requesting ecommerce implemented on their sites. We are planning to design the site with Muse and then use the ecommerce function in the BC system in the Muse websites.
While I get the whole process of setting up a Muse page as a "template" for the BC system by inserting the "{tag_pagecontent}" HTML object and then letting BC populate the template or "skin" with it's pre-defined layouts for ecommerce and a number of other functions, we'd really like to know how to exercise a greater level of control in the layout of the page presenting such things as the landing page of the catalogs, the product pages, shopping cart, checkout, where the bread crumb navigation is placed, the shopping cart status location, etc.
We tried this by taking the tag elements on the module template pages within BC and inserting them into Muse, but are getting no connection between the pages and the catalogs we're trying to put into the pages. For example, we'd like to have the "4 across" products in the catalog on the right 2/3 of the page with another menu down the left side or space for promotional links within the site. At the same time, we'd like to be able to put the breadcrumbs above the menu on the left and the shopping cart summary at the top right of the page above all the art created in Muse.
Is any of this making sense to anyone else out there?
Ok, so now this is started, please, positive input only. I'm not looking for someone to come in here and tell me I need to start from Ground Zero and learn code so I can create everything in DW, etc. I mean, isn't that why Muse and BC exist in the first place?
Looking forward to connecting with some minds greater than mine!
    James

The only relatively insightful guides I have found to date on this matter are in no particular order:-

Seems that there is more info about integrating BC with dreamweaver than muse at present but I will charge on nontheless.

  • Gallery Solutions with eCommerce/Paypal

I'm creating a gallery of jewelry that has thumbnails on the left and a larger image on the right.
    Here's a link - http://www.elyssabassdesigns.com/fashion_collection_spr11/fashion_necklaces.html
The problem is now the client wants to add a Paypal button below each of the large images so she can start selling to consumers. So far she has been just selling to stores and didn't want eCommerce. Up until now I've been just using disjointed rollovers with the text being part of the larger image. In the past I've used the show/hide div layer solution, and that would work great because you could show and hide the image/HTML/Links or anything else. But the problem with that is this page needs 60 items...the show/hide might be a slow load. I'm beginning to think I should just give up on this gallery set up and just go for a page of thumbnails that links to seperate pages that can handle all the various details and eCommerce. Or maybe do the gallery with Flash. I'm just not sure wich way would be best
Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

If your version of DW includes a behavior called "Set text of Layer" or maybe "Set text of Element"
You could use that to show your large image plus a Paypal buy button.
    (preferably with a custom image)

  • My Images and styles are missing on some pages

    Important Notes:
The BC System has a great and simple way to know to read correct file locations for things like your CSS styles, Javascript files and your images.
The BC system has a number of elements that create folder like structures such as web app detail view, blogs, forums and eCommerce, if you do not follow the below your BC site will not be able to find the CSS, Javascript and image files because it will be looking for them in the current folder.
With the two points above in mind the solution to this is really very easy. For every type of file you see in the below examples, all you need to do in your Templates is start these with a forward slash ( / ) , it is that easy!
    Stylesheet
    <link href="/css/style.css" rel="stylesheet">
    Favicon
    <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/ico/favicon.ico">
    Javascript File
    <script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8" src="/js/scripts.js"></script>
    Image File
    <img src="/css/images/logo/logo.png" alt="logo" />

Hi Teejay. If you make pages with no template then the render basic HTML structure Southey work as web pages. Of course this will not have any style shed links in that code.
What are you referring to in terms of beta testing pages with no template? If you have the correct links and HTML any .html file will render correctly on the web.
Are you referring to system generated content?

  • Creating Simple ticket sales Ecommerce cart

    Hello Everyone,
I've been searching around for a simple cheap way to sell tickets for an event on a site I am creating. I just need to have the options adult, senior, youth, child, the prices as well as how many of each they customer would like to order online. I've looked through multiple widgets and eCommerce websites but I haven't found anything I love, they all tend to cater towards people selling much more products, or they don't allow me to design the the page to match my site. Is this something that can be done easily with a widget or online service or does it need to be manually made?
    Thanks in advance!
    Spencer

    Hello
Yes, you will have to upgrade your BC site to get access to features like Events, products, and payment gateways.
You can upgrade your site from BC admin panel - Site settings > Site management > Upgrade site
Business Catalyst offers a range of plans for hosting client sites. See the below link for a detailed feature-by-feature breakdown of plan inclusions:-

  • Safari 2 and Siteminder

    Hi,
I found a relevant issue upgrading from Panther to Tiger. The issue is Safari 2 (build 412 and 412.5) .
Most of homebanking systems use Siteminder. Siteminder is very popular in home banking and ecommerce big sites.
I tried to authenticate myself in my homebanking and in more than one ecommerce website.
Same results. It doesn't work anymore. I receive back always "authentication error".
This means that Safari 2 users cannot use homebanking or ecommerce anymore.
Did anyone find a solution? Or is there any setting to be changed?
    Thx
    Flavio

My guess is that this is a problem with Safari. When I use Firefox, I don't have any trouble with quicken files. Safari downloads them to the default download location, but there is some sort of file extension problem that prevents the OS from recognizing the file as a quicken file. It's infuriating! Others have posted Apple Scripts to deal with this, but I don't see the point of going to all that trouble if Firefox works. It's too bad, though, because--as a general matter--I like Safari and would prefer it over Firefox, were it not for this issue.
Perhaps someone at Apple is paying attention.

  • New to BC and CMS

Hi I'm new to this but use Muse which I find great, but BC will allow me to access web design on a commercial scale, rather than a brochure site. I have no experience of coding or CMS like Wordpress or the like, how difficult is the learning curve of BC templates and the manipulation of templates for someone like me or is it the relm of web developers and coders

Hi there, we've found Businesss Catalyst to be a lot easier to use than most other CMS. Ultimately, the complexity it depends on the type of websites you want to build. Small brochureware websites are straightforward.
Larger websites and eCommerce sites are more complex. There are quite a few BC tutorial videos out there on YouTube and BC Gurus too. I suggest work with a BC developer for a while, learn the nuances of the CMS then give it a go yourself. This is what we did, hope this advice helps.

Would like to see BC and Muse be able to sync the metadata, not just content updates.

  • Adding a search bar when using Muse and Business Catalyst

    Hello and greetings,
I am creating a site with Adobe muse and Business Catalyst integration for blogs and ecommerce.  I know you can add a search bar using this tutorial from Muse Themes. However, will it search everything created between both Muse and Business Catalyst, or will it only search for Muse created content if inserted in Muse?
    Does anyone know?

    Hello,
When you create a search option in a Business Catalyst site, it searches everyting in the site, all th contents of the site that is. So, whatever the content of the site is, it will be indexed for searching purposes, provided you used the BC search bar.
    Cheers

  • Adding an e-Commerce template to existing BC online web site?

Has anyone out there started with a Muse design, and after completeing it, then did add an ecommerce template?
There are many ways to get to the mountian... I don't see a path yet.
Conern is for menu integration with the existing client content/web site (created in Muse) and eCommerce Template.
Is this integration possible? Key question.
If so though what interface: BC, Muse, Dreamweaver, Other?
    In other words:
Q: How does one join an active client muse site to a BC eComerce Template: what is the best process GIVEN initial client design is in MUSE?
    >>>I am going around and around missing the best practice or process to accomlish taking a MUSE on line web site, and ADDING and eCommerce Template so the store is there too.
IS THERE A SIMPLE WAY TO LINK A MUSE SITE THAT IS ACTIVE, TO A BC ECOMMERCE TEMPLATE AND HAVE THE MENUS AUTOMATICALLY ADJUST?
OR  DO i have to do something different?
It appears to me that going from a Muse Content created site on BC, to having that same BC site augmented with e-commerce, needs to be done in the BC on line interface versus Dreamweaver or Muse.
Perhaps it is a matter of order.... template first but then how to use MUSE to do the front end...
????? I must be missing some simple concept here....
Getting ready to experiment and hoping for some pointers as I start the challenge of the process. After looking on line and asking questions of BC and others... i have a couple of man days into this scenario.  Hoping for insight from the BC universe! lol... thanks y'all.
    Cheers!

Sorry . i am a bit lost and under pressure to perform on this project...
just attempting to find help. I am new to asking for help in this system,
but desperate to move ahead...  BC is the product that is most important
here: Muse is great ... however...  I can do without muse... but can not
accomplish this project without the functions of BC.

  • Search options not working in SQL

    Hi,
I have the Following SQL statement that filters for a Search
Criteria and it works fine in MySQL 4
    SELECT *,MATCH (presentationID,presentationTitle,
    PresentationName,ProductlineName,
    LevelName,RoleName,presentationDescrip) AGAINST (SearchString IN
    BOOLEAN MODE)
    FROM tbpresentations
    WHERE MATCH (presentationID,presentationTitle,
    PresentationName,ProductlineName,LevelName,RoleName,presentationDescrip)
    AGAINST (SearchString IN BOOLEAN MODE)
    ORDER BY productfamilyName DESC
The SearchString Variable has the following parameters:
    Name = SearchString
    Type = Text
    Default Value = -1
    Run-time Value = $SearchStringSQL
updating to SQL 5 returns the error:
MM_ERROR: MySQL Error#: 1054 Unknown column 'SearchString' in
    'field list'
    Any ideas?
    cheers

That did not work. I deleted the MM Files and the error still
    returned.
Again, Functionality is unaffected which is completely
    unusual for a coding environment.
I have no access to the recordset bindings, so I handcoded
the references instead, and it works fine.
I took the issue to our worldwide Web Developement
Department, as they are responsible for the Organisations Corporate
and ECommerce Sites and they had a look. (I look after the Training
    Intranet)
They use Visual Studio for the sites and I gave them all the
    code.
They ran a debugger and found nothing wrong with the code,
Which is why it runs fine.
After a few hours of testing and retesting and checking all
the lines of code (They get paid the big bucks) they concluded that
the error is caused by a bug in Dreamweaver CS3 unable to parse or
recognise changes to either MySQL Syntax or PHP 5.
Dreamweaver has added the $SearchString variable as a Table
Column in the Bindings for some daft reason based on the SQL
Statement, which is causing the error. It also added another Column
called 'Real', I have no idea where that was coming from. It also
added a third Table field tothe Recordset bindings called MATCH.
My Local testing Servers (3 of) all use WAMPserver 2 and
    generate the same eror.
The live Intranet Server, which is a new Win2003 Dell Server,
uses IIS6 and also generates the same error when I "test" it
    through CS3.
So, I dusted off a copy of Dreamweaver 8 installed it, and
    guess what....no errors.
They said the immortal words that programmers never say: "
Ignore the error, it wont affect functionality".
Just thought I'd let you know.
    cheers for the help.
