Skipping weekends while setting the expiration duration in Human task

Hi,
I need the task to expire after 5 days.
If I give a 'Fixed Duration' of 5 days, that would mean weekends are included as well.
How can I avoid this?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply.
I have done the the first part of what you suggested, namely:
- Created a calendar called QCalendar (Monday to Friday, 8 hours)
- Created a Organizational Unit called QUnit and associated the QCalendar with it.
- Added a group called QGroup to the Org Unit
- Created a task with one stage, and assignee as QGroup. Task Expiration is set at 10 days. 'UseBusinessCalendar' attribute is set to true.
This does not work. Weekends are still considered.
I felt I was missing something, and I believe that is what you mention when you say - 'Here's where I'm not entirely certain about this... I believe you will have to map the name of the org unit into the task payload using an association.'
Can you please elaborate on that part?

Problem in setting dynamic expiration duration from Human Task

I have a BPEL process, in which the Human task expiration has to be set dynamically..
In the , I have set the expiration duration with this :-

Do not get confused with 'PT1M' .. I want the duration to be 1 minute... Had I used 'PT1M' as a String and assign to the expirationDuration var, it would have caused an error... It needs to be fromatted as a Date..That's y i took this approach ... I am sure this is working fine as I have checked the payload of the task..
It has a proper duration..

The problem is the task(at runtime) cannot evaluate the expirationDuration from the XPATH..
I checked with the WF_TASK table in the orabpel schema ...
When I use a static duration EXPIRATIONDURATION cloumn gets assigned properly (ie PT1M).. But when i take the XPATH approach, it translates to PT0S.
Can someone look into this please ?

If the Human Task shows status complete, then it's possible that there was an error in the output data association in the process. In EM do you see a fault on the output for the Human Task activity, or if PS4FP the process will go to suspended state if the data association fails.

How to set the Expiration Date for a task which is been assigned explictly.

When I assign a task to myself and not work on it for couple of weeks the task is getting released automatically into the original unassigned pool. The TaskActionHandler WSDL is causing that to happen. I don't want a task to be automatically released into the pool when I don't work on it for couple of weeks, how can I make that happen? TaskActionHandler is something which comes with the BPEL so I can't change the way how it behaves. Do I need to set the expiration date or duration explicitly when a task is created?then how do I do that?
If anybody could let me know how to make TaskActionHandler not to release a dehydrated task, I would be glad.

Hi,
Make AUTO RELEASE a restricted action for the task by adding the following line:
<restrictedAction>AUTO RELEASE</restrictedAction>
to the <restrictedActions> tag in the task configuration file.
Works effectively.
Alternatively, you can specifiy the auto release durations on a per task priority basis. There is more on that in the BPEL Dev Guide.

You will need to use an idocscript function, most likely in a global rule.

How do you set the expiration date of a secure zone?

I am trying to set up a form where a user can sign up for access to a secure zone for 1 year. How do I set the expiration date of the secure zone for them to expire one year after they sign up for it?
I have tried using a hidden field named "ZoneExpiry" (I have tried "ExpiryDate" as well) in the form and set its value attribute manually in the HTML (with the format 13-May-13), and the expiration date always ends up being 31-Dec-9999.

Then have a function as follows:

you can send keystrokes to invoke menu commands via shortcuts but as for transition time not sure. You've check the dictionary right? Scripting support is very limited in KN.

I need to set the expiration date of a User Task to a specific date, not a duration. Is it possible to do this?

I have also got a smiliar problem. Does anyone have any further information to how this can be achieved?
I have been able to use the Human Task Wizard screen (<usertask>.task) to hard code the expiration time. Using the Fixed Duration option of days, hours or minutes. I have tried to use the 'By Expression' to do this but have been unable to get it to work. I have tried to select the /task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:expirationDuration or the /task:task/task:systemAttributes/task:expirationDate element within the task workflow xsd but are unsure how to get it to read the date. I have tried to assign a time component to expirationDate and a time period P0DT0H20M to the expirationDuration element.

I am new to JSF. I am working on application where i have combo boxe on the page. I am setting some values to the combobox from database using <f:selectItems> tag and one value using <f:selectItem> tag. The value combobox value selected by user is set to the bean property which is String. I am able to display all the values in the combobox but when clicked on button (present at the end of form) i am getting following error-
ERROR HtmlRendererUtils:354 - Error finding Converter for
component with id interviewStageOneForm:acceptanceChannelList
I am setting the combobox selected value to the to the bean property which is String and the value selected in also String. Then which converter it is asking for. I am not able to find out what is the problem.
Your suggestions will be really appreciated.

First I would try next:
Try to leave out
<f:selectItem itemValue="Select" itemLabel="#{Message.combo_select}" />
line. And check if it works after that. If it didn't repeat step but you leave in message selectItem and dump out database selectItem line.
Second:
I would check acceptanceChannelList creation and what type of objects you put while doing setValue and setLabel on UISelectItem
Probably selectItem value has been assigned an object of type the engine doesn't know how to convert from String to it.

How to set the expiration time for a namedcache programmatically?

I have a named cache with near cache configuration and no expiration specified in the cache-config. The backing map which is a distributed scheme has a size limited eviction policy but no expiration. I have an algorithm to determine the expiry delay of this named cache at run time. How can I set this delay programmatically on the named cache?

Hi Sairam,
You would need to get the backing map for the cache and then set the expiry on the backing map; assuming that the backing map supports expiry.
For example:

How to set the default duration for still pictures ?

Hi there,
At the moment, when I drag a still picture from Viewer window to the Canvas window, a default 10-sec duration of the still picture will appear on the timeline.
How do I set this default to 8 seconds ?
I tried looking at User Preference and System Preference but cannot locate them. Maybe I miss them ?

Yes Ian, just noticed that there is a bug !
Mine was set to 12 secs & I always got 10 seconds.
Now I set to 12 secs & I got 8 seconds.
It looks like it is always 2 seconds less from what you set ?

'setProgress is not a function' error while setting the progress of a progress bar manually

I want to set value of a progress bar in an accordian but I am encountering 'setProgress is not a function' error. Any idea what's wrong with following code.
Observation:
If I move the progress bar out of the Accordian then the error goes away and the progress bar appears fine.

I have created a web service data control which has an operation having input as payload object. This payload object has two attributes min and max. I am calling a task flow in a dynamic region in which I want to display result of this operation for which i have to set the values for min and max. I have tried passing parameter to a task flow, but i cannot set the action to a task flow call because it already has action for a method in a dynamic region which renders the task flow at runtime. How do i set action to task flow call link? Also once i get the parameters into the page flow scope variables, i want to pass those to one of my data control operation which displays the result in that taskflow.(i dont want to create parameter form for this operation).
