I'm using Mavericks and there are no issues with SKYPE.
I using SKYPE 6.9 and this version is working well without issue.
For some reason I didn't downloaded SKYPE 6.11 I don't know why anymore ... but I'm sure I hat my reasons not to do so.

You are mixing different issues. I will address Numbers.
Has Numbers ever been installed on this new Mac? Did you have the Mac App Store version of Numbers or did you have the DVD version of Numbers?
You should be able to redownload a previous purchase of the Mac App Store version of Numbers from the Purchases pane after signing into your account.
If you had the DVD version, then you will need to install that from the DVD media. -

Hi, I'm trying to upgrade my Mac from Mountain Lion 10.8.5 to Mavericks. First I tried to download Mavericks at the App Store but it said that I needed to make an update in my current OS. The update appeared in the update part of the Store, so I downloaded it. It restarted so I took another try to download Mavericks but again it says that I need to make an update to my actual system so I have the Air Flash Storage Firmware 1.1. The problem is that no more updates to the OS seem available in the App Store and the update I made said that it corrected the problem with that Air Flash so I don't know what else to do, please help!!!

While on Safari, or Google Chrome and I click on a story or any where on the page for that matter, and I get bumped to a new tab with a junk site telling me to check my Mac or sign-up for streaming video. MacKeeper, Mac-Messages, Tuneupmymac, DetoxifymyMac, YourmediaHQ, Streamnowmovies, dtv4pc, etc. I also now have a problem with pop-ups which I didn't have before. While shopping on-line now I keep getting pop-ups giving me alternative prices on the same or similar items that I am browsing. I have my pop-up blocker activated, but these are still coming through. Is there any way to clean-up, fix, or block these sites that keep interfering with my internet time? IT'S MAKING ME CRAZY!

How do I get my bookmarks back, I downloaded version 4.0 that said it is compatible with all versions of OSx. Which it is not!!! So now it won't start FireFox, before I do anything else how do I get my bookmarks back?
THe phone is NOT jail broken.. all i want to do is have it return back to how it was before i started the updae version process obviously it did not take and now it is locked into plave the screen will not change.. after reboots and shut down when i turn it back on the same screeen appears the cd disc with the music note over it and the arrow pointing upwards and a picture of the small end of the charge cord that fits into the actual compute.. it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.

I downloaded latest software on iphone 4 and installed new software on my imac (snow leopard 8.6)and now phone not synching with new itunes. Itunes does recognize the phone but the itunes is totally different now. It doesn't look anything like the previous vesions. I can't even find a tab for synching. very strange. any help is appriciated.

Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

Help please! I downloaded mavericks but the install failed. The message stated there was an error with the disk which required repairing. Using disk utility repair disk is not available ( greyed out) and verify disk stops and says disc requires repairing. So the online support page suggests I erase the disc and reinstall then back up from time machine ( I have a recent backup). But when I try to erase the Macintosh HD I get the message volume erase failed with the error couldn't unmount disk.
I'd be very grateful for any help anyone can give me.
I have a macbook pro 17" mid 2009- running on snow leopard 10.6.8 ... I lost the snow leopard disk so I don't know what to do from there ... I tried restarting by clicking SHIFT (safe mode) after the chime comes up, but It doesnt seem to make any difference ... please help !!

many many thanks for your hep guys !!Whenever you install a new version of OS X being installed, the disk is checked just as if you were using Disk Utility checks the disk to see if the disk is damaged. And,, from what you report, your disk is damaged and needs to be replaced. This isn't a fault with Mavericks - your disk may have been failing for years.
It's a very good thing that you've a recent backup as you're going to need it. I would suggest that you evaluate what functionality that you need in a new disk and go shopping at OWC for a new drive - HGST (or any Hitachi), Seagate SSHDs or Toshiba drives are all good. Be sure that you buy an enclosure for the 'new' drive so that you can format it using Disk Utility before installing it into your machine - you can get one of those from OWC as well.

I am now using 10.6.8. Downloaded Maverick but cannot update OS on HD because get message the disk is not formatted as Mac OS extended(journaled). Tried to use Disk Utility as per instruction but cannot complete operation.

The partition method worked after some trepidation. I got the spinning beach ball after partitioning and couldn't go further till I named the second partition. That may have done it. Right now, things seem to be working o.k. I'm updating a current iPhoto and will have to get a MS Word program that will function on the current OS and a current Quicken.
If necessary, can start up from the 10.6.8 system which I downloaded to an external HD before updating. I can always fall back on that. Also, I hope I don't get too many disconnects. Thank you for your help. -
