Skype connect not connecting

Hi there
I have 2 separate skype connect connections, 1 into a PBX in Brisbane, the other in Wellington. They have been working happily for quite a while. As of sometime today no one can connect to them, the connection says "connecting" but it never makes a connection to the PBX and the call never completes.
At the PBX the lines are registered and show no issues. We use these for inbound only so I don't know if outbound works but I will check.
Is anyone aware of any issues with Skype Connect and the best way to report it

Thanks very much, we are using it for inbound to allow remote callers on Skype in, so I am not sure there is an alternative. It worked well for quite a while then dropped off in the last few months.
I don't really know the right way to get hold of them. Nothing much has worked. But an unreliable service is no good - cleaner to have nothing in terms of support and expectations

I have a 4th generation Kindle 8.9 and my wife has one of the new 7-inchers. We both set up Skype accounts a few nights ago and sent requests to friends and to each other, but have yet to hear from them or from us. Our WiFi is working fine and we have internet access...we can even find our friends on Skype. And we, ourselves, are listed on the Skype directory. So why haven't we received each other's requests? Don't they appear in the main message area? What's wrong?

  • Skype will not connect to my wifi 4G network

Skype when loaded just sits there with a circle running around.  Going into tools and selecting wifi connection. the message comes up....Can't connect to your wifi try another network. My wifi is a 4Gnetwork device from Verizon.... Is this the end of Skype for me!  Gmail chat works fine and will be my default video communications.

Make sure you are using the correct CLEAR Spot network name and password. They can be found on the label of the CLEAR Spot and under the battery. When entering letters, please use lowercase.
If you cannot connect your computer to your CLEAR Spot 4G’s Wi-Fi network you’ll need to -
    Ensure that:
You are connecting to the correct CLEAR Spot network (SSID) as listed within your computer’s connection manager, Look for the network named “CLEAR Spot xxx” (where xxx are the last 3 digits of your device’s MAC ID as listed on the label on the back of the CLEAR Spot under the battery).
You are using the correct password for your CLEAR Spot Wi-Fi network. (The password is also listed on the label on the back of the CLEAR Spot and under the battery).
Your computer supports the same type of Wi-Fi security that your CLEAR Spot’s WiFI network is using.
No one else is connected to your CLEAR Spot using a USB cable while “Disable Wi-Fi when connected via USB” is turned on.
If all these conditions are correctly modified...I am sure your skype will be connect to wifi.

  • Seeing wifi connection, not connecting

My powerbook g4 has been having problems connecting to our linksys wireless network. the other laptop on the wireless is connecting fine. My computer has full wifi connection (bands all activated) and under network status has green for go and claims to be connected but will not load anything/connect. I've read thru several helps and threads to no avail. I've tried resetting airport the network port configurations to the first choice, resetting the dhcp under tcp/ip manually and by renewing the lisence. I am still getting an IP beginning with 192 and no connection.
also will not connect using the LAN line from the router itself.
    any ideas?

mbaugh, Welcome to the discussion area!
This sounds like a DNS issue. See KB 106798, Mac OS: Troubleshooting "A connection failure has occurred", "The specified server could not be found" or Similar Messages.

  • Printer connection not connected It says printer offline ?

Hi Having a problem with my printer  It says your printer is not connected  You are offline  I have tried  Printer and where it says Work Offline I have deselected this  When that didnt work I have downloaded a fresh Driver to make sure it was up to date  Still no joy  Any ideas?

Im not a specialist but I've delt with a fair number of printers... I'll give you a checklist of things to do. Hopefully one of them works.
    restart your printer
if no success, turn off, un-plug for 10 seconds, re-plug, turn on. When turning on, hold the power button, don't just press it
turn off and restart your WiFi
    Restart your computer
Locate closer to your router & printer
Uninstall your printer software - don't delete it, go to the HP printer website or whatever, and download the uninstall software. Then redownload it
    Best of luck!

  • Skype call not connecting between 2 Windows 8.1 ma...

I have two Windows 8.1 computers, both bought brand new in August. We can not get them to connect to each other at ALL. Both accounts were converted from Skype name to MS Accounts. We have been having to switch to competing products to talk 90%+ of the time.
I don't see any way to diagose the problems within Skype.
When I attempt to call, I don't hear any ringing noise most of the time and it just shows "connecting..." Then I get a "call, no answer" in my chat screen. The other end may or may not have any ringing.
If the other end calls me. It rings, I answer, it shows their profile picture but no audio or video passes and then after 20 seconds or so it says "We're trying to get the call back..." and then fails.
Both ends are behind NAT firewalls. One end is a home and the other a university. Competing products work.
I feel like I have been transported back to the mid-90s with netmeeting.
What can I do to fix it/troubleshoot it?

Still having issues. No help provided. Anyone out there?
Hope to try today by using a different network and this weekend by being on the same network. Are there any troubleshooting statistics that Skype used to have available in monitoring or elsewhere to see dropped packets and the like to see what and where the problem lies?

  • "Skype can not connect" on Win 7 Desktop version?

Same problem here. I have skype on my Win7pc and Win8.1 on my laptop...but my win7 won't connect...but on my Win8.1 on my laptop its working fine. I'm unistalling and reinstalling skype on Win7 but even the installation is taking longer than usual. Internet connection is fine and I'm even on my pc right now logging in to the skype website and there are no issues. Only with skype desktop. I'm not linked to my Windows account and I don't want to change my password because I login using facebook which means I have to change Facebook password too. Anybody have any solutions yet?

    Hi Dennis,
Based on your description, I understand that you configure redirected folder via Group Policy. If anything
I misunderstand, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
Please logon the problematic computer by using that user who was redirected My Documents folder, then run
gpupdate /force command and monitor the result.
    à
Is there a registry change I can make to redirect the path from the local C' to the UNC path?
    Please type
regedit in Run to open Registry Editor and follow the path:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\Personal
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Personal
Please check if Value data was set to correct path.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help! Skype is not connecting for me!

I'm signed into Skype and everything but I can't make/receive video calls or send/receive messages. I know it's not my internet connection or my computer, I don't know what's happening. I've had Skype open for over 10 hours and it still shows that blue revolving arrow. I'm using the most recent update (6.21) and I have an Acer Aspire 5551 laptop computer.

What exactly is the version of Skype installed on your computer? In Skype go to Help -> About Skype.
What Firewall and Antivirus applications are installed on your computer?
What version of Windows are you on (XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 )? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?

In Internet Explorer go to Help -> About Internet Explorer.
P.S. Please, don’t say that you are not using Internet Explorer. This is irrelevant. Skype depends on Internet Explorer.

  • Skype is not connecting.

    Hi,
Thanks for the response. I did a Search and could not find Citrix anywhere (although there is a SilverLite file, is this the same as Citrix?)
My internet (XP my fave), is up and running 24/7 without problems.
    What else can I try?
    Cheers,
    Deb

Skype can be logged into as long as you like. Your Internet connection, seems not to be able to keep up.
Check that none of the interfaces you are using Skype from can be turned of by the operating system (if laptop they most likely are). Also check your connection (router, ISP etc).
the blue Skype ball means that Skype cannot find an active Internet connection, so the connection is most likely your issue, not Skype.
And at last I have to ask, is this somewhat Citrix related?

  • Issues with time capsule back ups when external hard drive is connected/not connected

I have a 2TB Airport Time Capsule (ATC) (tall tower type) purchased a few weeks ago and initially wanted it to back up a Seagate FreeAgent 500Gb external drive (formatted extended journalled) as well as three Macbook Pros.  The Seagate has a single partition called Lib and is not used for Timemachine backup; it just contains my iTunes library and lots of scanned and archived documents.  I want the Lib folder to be accessible to all three Mac users in the house and I've set up all of the Macs to connect and back up to the ATT.  They can all see the 'Lib' folder when it is connected to the ATC.
After a bit of searching on the discussion boards I realise that the ATC will not back up 'Lib' when the Seagate is connected by USB directly and that ATT will back it up if it is connect to my Mac and set not to exclude Lib  BUT I am encountering some problems with this scenario when I activate time machine.
When I disconnect the Seagate by using 'disconnect' in the ATC viewer in Finder I shut down the drive before disconnecting the usb and reconnecting to the Macbook Pro just as a precaution.  When i connect and then activate back up using Time Machine selecting the ATC data folder, it is showing no previous back ups and never backed up.  When I had the Seagate connected to the ATT I was seeing back ups as far as 6th May when I bought the ATC.  I know that the Time Machine backups are not on the Seagate as I had to reformat it a few days ago and use Data Rescue 3 when I lost the ability to see any files on it after disconnecting it from the ATC.    I saw the 6th May backups in Time Machine before I disconnected the Seagate a few minutes ago so they must be on the ATC - just not showing after the Seagate was disconnected.
Can anyone talk me through what may be happening here and advise on the best way of managing this.  I'm already planning to buy another external drive as the Seagate is getting a bit old now and I realise I should have secondary back up.  I should just say that the reason for bothering with the shared external drive is so that we can all access the photos and household files over the wireless network using ATT.  I would just like it to be backed up with minimal fuss if possible.
Many thanks in anticipation of some help with this
    I

I would fix the problem by simply installing a more flexible backup software. Carbon Copy Cloner costs US40. And it is licensed so you can load it on all the computers in your house.
It can backup the external drive while connected to the TC, although if you are using wireless it will be sure slow.
Including the external drive in your backup with TM, is just messy. It will work.. and although you are not seeing the previous backups, they are there.. but TM cannot see them until it reconnects with the external drive in place.  Once it reconnects it will need to deep scan the previous backup.. you are going to find a simple backup takes far longer than you want. It is also difficult to recover from.
    See Q5 here http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html
And several other comments in Pondini's KB will be helpful to understand. Sadly the guy who wrote it died before Mavericks came on the scene.. but it has more bugs than ever. TM has become less reliable for a lot of people.. and that is not doing any swapping of disks.
TM is honestly great for simple backups of your OS and particularly for incrementals but getting a clone of the disk like your external is far better for your setup.
    See http://pondini.org/TM/Clones.html

  • T400 - Thinkvantage Access Connections not connecting after sleep/hibernate

I have a relatively new T400 for work - and there are no problems connecting wirelessly at work.  However, I have set up my home wireless network, and I have problems.
When I power up my laptop, I can create a Connection Profile for my home network - and it connects no problem.  However, if I let the laptop go to sleep, it will not reconnect upon waking up.  Using the diagnostics, I get 3 errors - (a) make sure your encryption settings are correct for this network (it connected before, so they are)
    (b) contact network adminstrator (that's me)
    (c) your profile is on the same channel as an active network (yup - mine)
The only solution appears to be to delete the profile, reboot the PC, and recreate the profile.
Windows XP Pro, Thinkvantage Access COnnections 5, Intel 5100 wireless card (and T400 as I indicated earlier).
    Any tips?
    Thx,
    jason

All of hte MS updates are applied.  I have tried the Thinkvantage System Update utility, but it does not work (System Update 3).  When I start it, I get the splash screen for the program, and after a few minutes the splash screen disappears; when I check teh taks manager, the system update tool is not listed in the Applications tab.
