Skype for Business banned after 30 mins

Hello,
I created a Skype for Business account and 30 minutes later it was banned for violation of term. Please help me reinstate my account. Skype team refuse to tell which clause I violated. I honestly believe I have wronged nobody. How do i violate anything in such a short amount of time?
Thanks.

Do you mean your Skype Manager account was suspended?
Regardless, you must contact Skype Customer Service directly to enquire.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
As you know must contact Customer Service, skip past Step 2 of the instruction when FAQ articles and other information is presented, some of which may be helpful and provide insight, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request.

  • Skype for Business manager window popping up randomly after typing/clicking/working

    Hello there,
I work for a national charity and we have recently upgraded our computers and employees to Skype for Business. My co-worker is having an issue where no matter what she's working on, after every few clicks or letters typed, the Skype for Business window pops up. I've looked in the Settings under each tab but I haven't found a solution. It's preventing us getting good work done for those afflicted with the disease we're fighting against, so I was hoping a good samaritan could help me on this community board in fixing the issue.
I hope that you can help,
    Jena

does anyone know if there is a way to actually speak to SKYPE? i would like to discuss different business options (I have spent 20 mins searching the website and internet for a contact us and resorted to this, much like google! ridiculous that you cannot speak to a human being !!!)

  • After Skype for Business: Meeting Options set in Outlook are not used in the Meetings

    Hi everyone,
after the Update from Lync 2013 to the Skype for Business 2015 Client, I noticed that the Meeting Options you can set within Outlook (for example who needs to wait in the waiting room, is not used in the actual meeting.
Although the settings are persistent within Outlook, for every Meeting I currently must make sure that I am starting it before everyone else and set the same settings again within the meeting with the SfB Client.
Can someone confirm this behaviour? If yes, is this already known and a fix under way? Especially when you invite externals, sometimes I appreciate it if I need to approve them to pull them into the actual meeting instead of everyone just joining in midst
conversation or while you are preparing something.

    Hi,
Would you please elaborate the "actual meeting" (Meet Now?)?
If you mean actual meeting to be Meet Now, it is the normal situation. The SFB meeting options set on Outlook will not affect the setting by Meet Now. You need to set the meeting option through SFB client when creating a "Meet Now" meeting.

  • Any way to remove the prompt after Skype for Business patch?

So we rolled out the latest patches to our test machines and everyone got the new Skype for Business upgrade.  When each person logged in they were greeted with a window that said something like:
"Your administrator is set for you to use the Lync User Interface."
We then had to click the Restart Now button which caused Lync to close and open up again and it looked like Lync instead of like Skype.
Is there any way to not have that pop up open and to just have everyone get the old Lync interface as if nothing happened?  GPO, Registry, etc?
We want to minimize any confusion people are sure to have the first time they use it.
    Thanks!

You can enable the SkypeUI (Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableSkypeUI $true) with the backend still being Lync Server 2013 to get the new client look and feeling.
The Skype for Business 2015 RTM Server bits should be out in May, but the current new functionality can be taken from:

Can I just enable it for individual users for testing?  I tried doing a get-csclientpolicy and replacing -identity global with -identity <user ID> but it said it didn't exist since it seems it's looking for policies.  Not sure if there's
some other way to do that.
Do I need to setup a new policy and just add certain people to it or is there any other way to do that for specific users?
    Thanks!

  • Skype for Business client not responding after audio/video/screen sharing

    Hi Everyone,
I have a strange situation in my organisation. We have more than 200 clients and we are using Lync 2013. When Skype for Business (SFB) came out I tested it and found one problem - every time when I trying to make a audio or video call or what ever kind of
file sharing or screen sharing then SFB client will hang and have error "SFB not responding". I can click restart the client and close button. So it´s not possible to call or share anything with that. Specially bad is that is eferyone else is calling
to me it cause the same problem - client will die. So it´s very easy to kill my client :) At the beginning I thought that it´s my computer problem but then it turned out that allmost all clients have the same problem. Computers are different kind of Lenovo
    laptops.
What can cause the problem? I have installed and reinstalled the client. I have updated all the drivers. I have removed Personal Skype to make sure that it won´t cause the problem but problem is still there. Server itself is updated with latest CU and Skype
for Business UI is enabled as default UI.
    Br,
    Taavi

    Hi,
Please try to uninstall the default Sound Card, VGA Device/Video Card, Graphic Card, and use the default system driver to test the issue. Because sometimes update driver to the latest version doesn't work but only use the default system.
Please also make sure OS system update to the latest version.

  • Lync Recordings disappeared after upgrade to Skype for Business

I had recorded some training sessions while my company was still using Lync.  I recently upgraded to Skype of Business and can no longer find my recordings.  Searching for *.mp4 files yields nothing.  Where did my recorded training sessions go?  Should they not still be accessible via Skype? Thanks in advance for any assistance out there!

    Hi,
As far as I can tell for now, no.
Currently there is only a preview version of Skype for Business, you can download it from this link below:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-skype-for-business
Anyway, Lync will surely be upgraded to Skype for Business gradually in future updates or versions, please keep focusing on our products.

  • Skype for Business Live Tile - How to clear count

I understand that when the live tile for Skype for Business shows a number, it means I had that many missed contacts.  But the question is "since when"? Since the last time I opened the app? If that's the intent, it doesn't seem to be working for me. My live tile always shows "6". If I open the app then exit it, the "6" disappears, but at some point in the future the "6" returns without any new missed contacts. So how do I "clear" the missed contact count so that it is actually meaningful? A related question is, how do I know what are the six missed contacts? If I scroll right to the "Recent" list, how do I know which of those contacts are counted as being among the six that were missed? If there is supposed to me some sort of "missed" indicator, I sure can't tell what it is. Any advice welcome! Thanks!

  • Skype for Business price

    Hi
I tryed to find price info for Skype for Business but can not find any. Is the price/user/month for Skype for Business the same as Skype Premium? Is there some differences between Skype Premium and Skype for Business?

I was looking into this as well. All I could find on it is an MSI installer, which is useful for employers with an IT head, but not so much the self-employed.
From what I'm understanding after reading through FAQ's and such is that depending on your business and whether you plan on using group video calls or not, you may not even need a Premium subscription. If it's just you, or a couple of computers using Skype, it's easy enough to keep them all on the same install version. I used this chart for my decision since I don't need the MSI files of the business client. http://www.skype.com/en/premium/

  • Skype for Business, Transfer Calls appears blank

After the latest Skype For Business update a set of machines can no transfer calls. When attempting to transfer the "Invite by Name or Phone Number" screen is just a white box with an (x) close button.Once the June update KB/3054791 is removed:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3054791The machine is able to see the UI and transfer the calls correctly?Has anyone see this with the June update? We have further verified that if change your desktop setting for the resolution it wil make the transfer call window blank Default DPI is set to 125%.  Doesn't work.100% works fine.  126% also works fine.  We have been able to reproduce this on two other machines.  Can someone also test to see if the same results happen.

A little more info... I've gone back to an affected computer and verified that setting the DPI to 125% for an unaffected user causes the issue in that situation. Many of our other computers don't exibit this issue after the KB3054791 update regardless of the DPI setting. I did try updating the video drivers on one of the affected computers and that made no diffrence. I'm still not sure what the correlation is between computers that are affected and computers that are not affected. It's very perplexing.

  • Skype for Business issue

After installing Skype for Business Preview everything seemed to work perfectly. After restarting the PC again the new interface didn’t load again and the old Lync 2013 interface appeared but with the new skype icon and the new emoticons.
How can I get the new interface back?

    Hi BrandonSHall,
I have make it work permanently :) tested by restarting system :), given below steps will help you to set Skype for bushiness even it's disabled by Admin or you are on Lync server 2013.
    1) Open registry --> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Lync\EnableSkypeUI
    change value from 0000  00 00 00 00 to 0000  00 00 00 10.
    2) now go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Lync --> right click --> permission
--> click on add --> deny "everyone" --> apply -->
Now restart your system and check.  steps are funny but this will work for everyone.
    please check and revert.

  • Skype for Business freezes on Fullscreen

Hi, I have 2 office 365 computers running windows 7 i7 8GB RAM Nvidia graphics cards. Latest chipset drivers, fully uptodate graphic drivers. One PC is in Bristol the other in Bath. Im trying to setup Skype for Business between the 2 of them and it is working very well untill I maximise at leased one of them to full screen. Both buildings are connected to the internet via 100/100mb fibrelink. When you put Skype for Business into full screen mode it freezes for about 1-2 mins and then gives you 1 frame change every minute or so. Can anyone help? could skype/microsoft produce a fix and quick?

We are seeing the same issue, and suspect packet delays on internet to be the culprit. Please post if you were able tto find a solution. thanks

  • Skype vs Skype for Business Directory Search

Our company uses Office 365 and recently the Lync option was converted to Skype for Business which wasn't very hard for our company to adjust to even with the sudden change. But we have been wanting to use the Skype for Business to conduct mettings with Skype Users. After doing research to find instructions for adding a Skype User to Skype for Business I found out we need the Skype Directory selection beside My Contacts when searching a User. My problem is when I start typing in a Skype User only the My Contacts tab is displayed and no Skype Directory tab. How can I get this functionality enabled or when will this functionality be working?

  • Skype invites not received by Skype for Business users

I'm a system Administrator who manages an Office 365 Tenancy.  We are currently testing Skype for Business (formerly Lync Online).During initial testing we are finding that invite requests sent from a Skype account using Skype windows client version 7.5.0.10  is not being received by our Skype for Business windows client (15.0.4711.1002)I have raised this issue with an Engineer that works with the Lync Online Support team and he has duplicated the issue. The strange thing is that invites sent from the Skype for Business (formerly Lync Online) windows client are received successfully by Skype. Has anyone else experienced similar issues?thanks,

I have the exact opposite problem. Using Skype for Business (on Windows), I searched for my personal Skype account and sent an invite (at least SfB told me the invite was sent). But after logging on to Skype with my personal account on my Mac, I did not receive the invite. Furthermore, when using Skype to search for my work SfB account, no results were found, even when the "Allow anyone to contact me" setting on that account is selected.

  • Suppress first launch screen in Skype for Business

After upgrading from Lync to Skype for Business I notice there's a welcome screen with 7 quick tips that appears on first use. Just looking for the registry value(s) to suppress this.

    Hi,
I haven't known much about Skype for Business registry keys since there's only a preview version.
Anyway, I learned something from the previous version(Lync) to disable the Welcome screen, I tested it and didn't get the tips, please try if this works for you:
    Important
Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it,
back up the registry for restoration in
    case problems occur.
Press Win + R, type "regedit" in the blank box, press Enter.
    Browse to:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Communicator
    Create the DWORD: FirstRunPlayed
Set the value to as: 0
We can create this value on a test machine and check if this works. If yes, deploy it to all users then.
