  • Scenarios working although SLD connection failing

    I have a   R/3 (IDOC) -> XI -> R/3(Abap server proxy), running in production mode,
    the scenario is running fine, but if i do a SLDCHECK in the System, it gives following result:
    1. Properties of RFC destination SAPSLDAPI: OK
    2. Testing the RFC connection to the SLD java client...
    RFC ping was successful
    3. Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
    Retrieving data from the SLD server...
    Function call returned exception code     4
    => Check whether the SLD is running!
    4. Summary: Connection to SLD does not work
    => Check SLD function and configurations
    the issue is the point 3 and 4, becasue the function module LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS is giving error, the error we found on debuging is the user used in SLDAPICUST, which is continuosly getting locked due to some reasons...
    *BUT the real concern is....how are the scenarios as described in the first 2 lines, running,
    Is the SLD connection failing, not hampering my scenarios ?*
    pls help

  • SLD connection need to made for the ECC apps system or ECC DB system

    hi Friends,
    We have installed the ECC 6.0 . But the ECCAPP is installed in one system and ECC Database is installed in different system.
    So , From portal we are planning to run some webdynpro iViews. Which are required to connect the ECC system for getting the data. Please let me know should i prepare the SLD connection for the ECCDB system or ECCAPP system.
    Regards
    Regards

    Hi,
    You can very well create SLD system for ECCAPP and internally it will connect to the database. direct database connectivity is not required in the SLD.

  • PI SLD Connectivity issue

    Hi,
    I am having issue with my PIQ system with it's SLD Connection. My SLD is up and running on my PIQ system. I belive I have a local sld configured for my PIQ system. I have tried some troubleshooting steps and coun't get the results. Initially, I have went to transaction SLDCHECK and received the error message "Connection to SLD does not work
    Check SLD function and configurations".
    Then I went to Transaction SLDAPICUST and tested SAP_CONFIG user for maintain SLD access Data and
    I received the error message  :"Testing HTTP connection to the SLD server: An exception has occurred Exception in SLD client: AbapSLDRequestHandler.ping(): CIM_ERR_FAILED: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access
    Connection to SLD does not work".
    So, I logged on to UME of my PIQ system and created the user SAP_CONFIG and tried to assign
    the role LcrInstanceWriterLD that was in one of the troubleshooting guide lines and that role didn't exist. So, I assigned j2ee role for user SAP_CONFIG and that I still get the same error message. I made sure that user SAP_CONFIG exists in both ABAP and JAVA system
    of my PIQ. All my SLD configuration are correct.  What should i do?  Below are the messages I get when doing running transaction SLDCHECK and SLDAPICUST
    Tcode: SLDCHECK --->"Connection to SLD does not work
    Check SLD function and configurations".
    Tcode: SLDAPICUST -->Testing HTTP connection to the SLD server: An exception has occurred Exception in SLD client: AbapSLDRequestHandler.ping(): CIM_ERR_FAILED: User credentials are invalid or user is denied access
    Connection to SLD does not work".

    Hello Mr. Gaghu,
    Thank you for your reply and information. I am running PI 7.0 server. I had done what you had asked me to do and got some good results. I have a few questions?
    I have  added the user PIAPPLUSER in SLDAPICUST as you recommended. I noticed that user was not in ABAP (SU01) and JAVA, so I created the user PIAPPLUSER in both ABAP and Java system. I was not too sure what access to give that user in ABAP and JAVA. I have granted the user in ABAP with SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW access. I have granted that user in JAVA with the following super users roles (SAP_XI_CONFIGURATOR_EXT_J2EE, SAP_SLD_ADMINISTRATOR,      SAP_SLD_SUPPORT, SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_CENTRAL_READONL).
    Question 1: What roles am I supposed to assign the user PIAPPLUSER in ABAP and JAVA?
    I made sure that in transaction SLDAPICUST ; I have selected the user PIAPPLUSER as primary and changed the password to what i have set in ABAP and JAVA.
    Question 2 : In transaction SLDAPICUST,  By selecting the PIAPPLUSER user as primary and changing the password to what I have in JAVA and ABAP a correct procedure?
    Question 3: In transaction SLDAPICUST,  I still see the user SLD_CL_PIQ with alias name SAP_CONFIG, should that be there or deleted?
    Final Results/logs after your suggestions:
    TCODE:             Message:
    SLDCHECK -->  Summary: Connection to SLD works technically, but the SLD content may need maintenance
    => Check and maintain the SLD data content
    SLDAPICUST---> Testing HTTP connection to the SLD server..
    SLD ping was successful. Connection to SLD works correctly
    Question 4: Are there any other changes that I should make?
    Thank You and I look forward to your response.

  • XI Post Installation - SLD Connection

    Hi, I'm following the XI 3.0 post-installation guide. In the step "Maintaining SLD Connection Parameters" I call transaction SLDAPICUST and try to insert a row as described in the guide.
    The problem occurs in the password column which is not editable.
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Juan Manuel

    Juan, I had the same problem. I was using the Java GUI 6.40R2 and the Password popup does not work. I switched to use the Windows GUI and the password popup came up, I entered the password and all is OK. I went back to the Java GUI and clicked on Password field and the popup is working now - go figure??

  • Testing / Editing SLD connection in WebDynPro Content Manager

    In my WebDynPro Content Manager (http://<hostname>:<port>/webdynpro) I went to test the JCO Connection to the SLD defined under: "System Defined Content" | "JCo Destinations"
    When I test it I get:
    com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102)
    RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM
    TYPE=B
    MSHOST=bwxsnd01
    GROUP=JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp
    R3NAME=SB1
    MSSERV=sapmsSB1
    PCS=1 LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR       Group JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp not found
    When I try to "edit" the connection I don't see the group "JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp" in the pulldown.
    But, if I add the group "JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp" to the ABAP system using smlg, then it works!!!
    However, in the SLD (http://<hostname>:<port>/sld) when I look at the system it has group "SB1_JCO" defined there.
    My question then is: Is there another place that is overriding my SLD that has "JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp" defined there?

    Hi Michael
    try the options mentioned in below thread

  • Trouble with setting SLD connection of Preview J2EE + ABAP NW04s

    Hi,
    I am trying to connect both J2E and NSP to SLD. J2E has connected correctly.
    In visual admin, I created new entries in Jco RFC provider, (SLDAPI_J2E) the gateway/host = abap system.
    In Sm59 I created new connection to with the program name = SLDAPI_J2E and the connection  looks good.
    But RZ70 will dump regardless of any entry I try. "Could not open rfc connection"
    Any idea?
    Thanks

    Good morning,
    We have exactly the same problem.
    Have you find solution ?
    Regards, Emmanuel

  • SLD connection failing from PORTAL

    Hello All,
    Our env is EP 6.0 ,ORACLE 9i as DB ,OS as Linux.
    In portal under WebDynpro, the SLD test connection is failing and due to which none of the JCO connections are working  .
    The user used for the communication is SLDDSUSER , which has the roles of LcrAdministrator .
    When I tried to reset the password in VA (SLD Data Supplier) , even then it is getting failed .
    After viewing into the logs of latest default trace files , it is showing relating to unathourised issue .
    Here are  the logs of it

    Checked few things and they are working fine.
    I have checked the connectivity of SLD externally (<server-name>:<j2ee-port>/sld) ,and it is working fine.
    Checked the user SLDDSUSER , and it is not locked and it has the roles of LcrAdministrator .
    Can any one suggest me to fix this issue ..
    Best Regards
    Rakesh

    Hi,
    Check your CIM client settings in the visual admin, check whether the connection test work fine or not.
    After resetting the password for SLDDSUSER you can try logging using the url http://fqdn:5xx00/useradmin. Then maintain the password and check the connection now.

    Vamshi.

  • SLD Connection IB: Can't find business systems: InternalEOAService

    Dear experts,
    I have connected my SLD properly to the IS. SLD_CHECK is successful. But I can not access the business systems from the integration builder. I get this message:
    ========================================================
    Access to object list of type "BusinessSystem" using the InternalEOAService BusinessSystemAccessor failed
    ========================================================
    What's wrong. Performed J2EE restart and SXI_CHACHE refresh.
    Can also not import configuration objects due to the fact that it thinks that certain business systems do not appear in the SLD. But they do....
    Please suggest?!?
    Kind regards.

    Forget about the SLDCHECK.  that is completely irrelevant here and only deals with the abap communciation.
    Your issue relates to the JAVA communication with the SLD.
    You need to successfully register the JAVA stack with the SLD.  In the Data Supplier, does this work for every page?  You are interested in the CIM Data tab...
    You may have to make alot of manual associations, but until you can register the other components, there's no point.
    Can you specify your version and whether or not the Template Installer was successful and whether you have checked the post installation tasks?

    Hi Ronny.
    Where is your UME running? On the java engine, on an ABAP system or at a LDAP?
    What i want to say is that your user has to gain the rights to connect to the SLD. Easiest way is to give you admin rights - to do that you have to know where your userstore is running....
    I am not sure if this is correct http://localhost:50000/sld
    Normally it should look like http://my.sap.com/56600/sld where my.sap.com is a fqdn and 56600 is the port of the java engine. 66 ist the system number of the as java.
    ZBAPI? I do not really know but i think you have to use a jco to connect...
    regards,
    Martin
