Testing / Editing SLD connection in WebDynPro Content Manager

In my WebDynPro Content Manager (http://<hostname>:<port>/webdynpro) I went to test the JCO Connection to the SLD defined under: "System Defined Content" | "JCo Destinations"
When I test it I get:
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102)
RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to message server host failed Connect_PM
TYPE=B
MSHOST=bwxsnd01
GROUP=JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp
R3NAME=SB1
MSSERV=sapmsSB1
PCS=1 LOCATION    CPIC (TCP/IP) on local host with Unicode ERROR       Group JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp not found
When I try to "edit" the connection I don't see the group "JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp" in the pulldown.
But, if I add the group "JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp" to the ABAP system using smlg, then it works!!!
However, in the SLD (http://<hostname>:<port>/sld) when I look at the system it has group "SB1_JCO" defined there.
My question then is: Is there another place that is overriding my SLD that has "JCO_SLD_Logon_Grp" defined there?
Mike

Hi Michael
try the options mentioned in below thread
"com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (102) RFC_ERROR_COMMUNICATION: Connect to m"

  • Wrong information when select " Check SLD connetion" in Webdynpro Content

    Hi All,
When I go to Webdynpro Content Administrator, select the button " Check SLD connection" and a new window come up with the details of where the SLD is running.
I noticed the details are incorrect, i.e. port 54200 instead of 50700. I have check in the SLD service Visual administrator and it has correct information of hostname and port number ...
Can you please help to point out where/how did it pick up this information?

    Hi Vincent,
I dont think your sld is configured and running.
    1. since you said the port number is wrong you have to correct the settings in the first place.
    2. secondly you need to check the link which will be in the format http://host address:portnumber/sld and configure the sld there and then check if its up and running.
these steps would be mentioned clealy in the guide may be in the post installation activities please check that and keep us updated.

  • Error while trying to edit in Bea Portal Administration Content Management

    Hi,
we are exploring the weblogic portal administration 9.2 and we encounter an exception when editing a content in the Content Management feature. We use the weblogic default workflow, we create a user attached to a group, add that group to a role, then delegate the edit and view capability of a content node in the Content Management to that role, we login using the respective user, check out the content, try to edit the property but then the exception occurs.
It says "A Repository Exception was thrown: User does not have view privileges on the node"
the detail exceptio on the property page was:
"javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Could not find a node at the key: nodeReqAttr
    at com.bea.jsptools.content.node.ViewPropertyTag.doStartTag(ViewPropertiesTag.java374)
    at jsp_servlet._contenet._node._nodeselected._properties._listpropertiescheckout._jsp_tag46 ...."
Could u help us what step we went wrong, because we previously try this in the WLP 8.1.4 portal administration the exact same step but never encounter this error before.
And is there anyway I can atteched screenshots to help better explain this problem?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
You have to set your activex control properly. then only edit locally in KM will work.
    Also check the below wiki

    Hope that helps

  • Setting Up the SLD Connection for WebDynpro Flight List

I have to set the "cim client generation settings" in the visual admin. But what host? J2EE Engine, R/3 backend, something else? An example would be helpfull.

    HI to everyone,
    I have the same problem...
...the <b>configuration of SLD is really a pain</b>...
My WAS 6.40 J2ee only java is named pedroxp an runs on 50000.
    I have done these steps:
1)In <b>Visual Admin</b> I have set all the property of the famous <b>SLD Data Supply</b> with these values
    <b>HTTP Settings</b>
    host: pedroxp
    port: 50000
    user: Administrator
The same values are in the <b>CIM Client generation Setting</b>
    and in the <b>RFC Settings</b> I have
    Gateway Host: localhost
    Gateway Port: sapgw00
    When I test the Button <b>CIMClient Test</b> I have <b>success</b> !
    2) I connect to my ... <b>SLD</b>
    <b>http://pedroxp:5000/sld</b>
    Here I have defined a <b>Technical System Type</b> --> <b>Web as java</b>
I have added a JCO Destination --> OK
I don't know what to do in order to add a <b>Message Server</b>
I have also added info in Data Supplier Bridge Administration...
    3) I go to WebDynpro console
    http://pedroxp:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcwdtools/Explorer
but when I try to create a new JCO Destination,
I go trugth all the 6 steps ... some doubt about the Message Server or Saprouter selection in step 4.2.
When I click finish I have an Error ...
An Error quit difficult to read because is just one row long a kilometer...
<b>Who is so kind to bring the light in this mess ?</b>
I have read a lot of documentation,
but I can't figure it out alone...
    Thanks in advance

    Hi.
Are you trying connect with your local Integrated WebLogic or you have a WebCenter Portal Installation?.
It's refusing your connection because probably WebCenter Content Security Filter is not configured.
Go to [domain_home]/ucm/config/config.cfg and change SocketHostAddressSecurityFilter and add localhost or *.*.*.* for allow all hosts to connect. After change this value restart your UCM.
If you have Enterprise Manager you can do this operation visualy.
After change it, restart your UCM server.
    Regards.

    Help……

    Hi, James.
If you add the main "Learning Administrator" role (UMX|OTA_LRNG_ADMIN), it will include all child roles for the Administrator, including the Learning Content Administrator, Learning Catalog Administrator, Learning Enrollment Administrator, Learning Finance Administrator, Learning Resource Administrator, and Learning Setup Administrator. If you don't have all of these roles, there are functions you will not have access to under the Learning Administrator responsibilities.
The "Learning Instructor - Update" role only allows users that have the Learning Instructor Self-Service responsibility to update enrollment statuses for Learners that have attended classes that they are set as a resource for and won't impact the Administrator functionality.

  • Editable Pages For Content Manager

    Hi
On my website I would like my friend/the client to be able to login (there will be only one user) and after he logs in - some of the pages should 'change' to allow user input/edits.
I have designed the pages - both editable (with forms) and non editable (just content). - ((The website uses PHP and a MySQL database.))
What is the recommended way/'best' way to send the logged in user to the editting pages - and the general guest to the non-edit pages?  - Do I use separate pages - or should I use conditionals on a single page to display content/forms based on the person viewing the site?
In otherwords - I want to create a very basic CMS for my client after he has logged in.
    Thanks!
    Chris

    1. Make a directory in the website. I name mine "admin." This directory will be password protected, or protect access using sessions.
    2. I don't know how you organized your database, but normally the content for all the pages will be in a single table (in some cases a set of joined tables). To edit the content of a page, you need to populate a form in your admin system with the desired page content. So first you have a menu page which lists the pages (i.e. contact, home page, etc.). The items listed should link to the form that edits the page content and opens it up with the appropriate page content.
For instance, you can use the GET variable to send the appropriate page ID, like this:
    edit_page.php?page_id=7
The edit page will contain a form with fields such as TITLE, MAIN_PHOTO, MAIN_CONTENT, LEFT_COLUMN_CONTENT.
The content fields will use the textarea form field type and usually you want to connect them to a WYSIWYG editor like TinyMCE or CKeditor. My preference is CKeditor. Using such an editor gives the content manager the ability to format text, create lists, add images, etc.
There is an eBook called Build Your Own Database Driven Website Using PHP & MySQL, published by Sitepoint. It isn't the best book about PHP/MySQL, but it does focus on the elements of a basic CMS.

  • LiveCycle ES Connector for IBM Content Manager connection problem

I've recently installed Adobe LiveCycle ES 8.2.1 and we're trying to get the Connector for IBM CM working. First off here's what software levels we're using:
    LiveCycle ES 8.2.1
    WebSphere Network Deployment 6.1.0.21
    IBM HTTP Server 6.1.0.21
    IBM DB2 UDB 9.1(FP 6a)
    IBM Content Manager 8.4
IBM Information Integrator for Content 8.4
    Java JRE 1.5(SR 8a)
Our application(s) connect to our databases remotely. The DBs reside on our z/OS(which is at level 8.1)
When I try and enter in the database/datastore info in the Connector fields under services I get this error in LiveCycle
    Failed to save settings.
Error: Not able to validate the connection with the IBM CM. Either credentials or database is wrong. For more information see the exception stack trace.
and I see the following in the SystemOut.log

    Nick,
I am getting the exact same error. I have tried installing Adobe Livecycle 8 on two separate machines and they both give the same problem. In viewing at the logs, it seems that the IBM CM jar files are not being recognized by the Adobe installation. For me, I get the following logs as well in addition to what you see.
    Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.ibm.mm.sdk.common.DKDDO

The DKDDO class is in the jar files that are inside II4C installation folder. I think that the file "adobe-component-ext.properties" that they ask us to create to reference the IBM CM jars is not being picked up by the Adobe Connectors for IBM CM. Do you see the " java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError" in your logs? Any resolutions you had regarding this.
I even tried to copy the ibm jars to various paths and copied the props files ad various different locations. I am under the impression that the documentation may not have been updated for this change.

  • I can no longer edit my custom content management system using Firefox

    Hello,
I work for the University of North Carolina. We have a very old custom content management system that is built in Oracle (UCM). When logged in, it has little edit buttons that allow you to click on items and launch edit windows. I don't know what's behind that -- it's not Java. I'm thinking javascript? All I know is that since the Firefox upgrade to 13.0.1, the edit buttons no longer display, and the sites are not editable.
So far, the only way we've been able to allow people to edit their sites is by forcing them to use IE9 in compatibility mode. All other browsers fail for various reasons. Firefox is our workhorse browser, but we're desperate to have Firefox back.
I understand we also have some problems with our Remedy application -- not sure what's happening, but it's also no longer functional in Firefox. I'm wondering if there is a patch in the works that will address these issues?
BTW, it sounds a lot like this issue here: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/930042

Drat... So, we tried taking out the javascript entirely. No real change, except lightbox actions would not function. Then, we tried referencing a different javascript version. No difference, except that lightboxes and Carousels still would not function.
To see if the $ error was universal across all of our sites, I logged into four or five other UCM sites. None of them threw the $ error, only the Art site. What's interesting is that for all sites, you can see editable areas if you look for them (e.g. mouse randomly around the areas where there used to be buttons to click on), but the icons continue to not show up.
The warnings coming from the console seem fairly benign, and it's only the Art site that throws a definite error. The only thing that seems consistent across all sites is the warning: "server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555".
Any other thoughts? I'm not sure a guest logon would help, but I can certainly pursue that line of action if you'd like to dig a little deeper.
    Thanks in advance,
    - Veda

  • Can my client add a link when editing text with the content management of Business Catalyst?

I created a site using Muse. My client chose to host with BC and take advantage of the content management option. She has edited text to include her email and wants to create a hyperlink from that text to her actual email. Is this possible and if so, do I need to change the user Permissions to allow her to do this?

Yes, she is editing content in the admin panel, but when she edits the text, she just gets the option to change text and update. There is not a button for hyperlink and then email. It seems like linking, something so simple, should be allowed. What do I need to do to allow this to happen for her?

  • Is it possible to create a Muse site that my client can edit using a content management system?

Muse is a great tool for a print based designers to be able to create websites.
However most clients want to be able to manage their content and hosting.

A good example would be this site for a holiday let business:-  http://www.gurnard-pines.co.uk
The client called me and said they wanted a website design, they had a domain name and web hosting etc.
I created a design in Illustrator and asked a freelance web developer to code the site and incorporate a content management system, as the client wanted the ability to change the dates / prices / availability / attractions etc.
When I get asked to create a website, the client nearly always wants the ability to edit the content themselves to avoid the cost of implementing regular changes.
Hope this helps, feel free to call me on  07799 697646.

Hi Robert and welcome to Apple Discussions,
There are adapters available that convert micro cards into fullsize ones.
You will also need a USB card reader if you do not have one.

    Hi Pranav
If the SLD is working fine then you need to check the below thing :-
    1. Check the SLD Data Supplier in the Visual Administrator and update the correct information and test it.
    2. Update Host and service file for server in the server system for jco destinations visibility.
Refer to [System Landscape Directory Process and JCo Configuration|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0c1d495-048e-2b10-babd-924a136f56b5?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true]
