Slideshow didn't come out 16:9

Hi,
I created a slide show. I was expecting a 16:9 final product and got 4:3
I opened iDVD
did New Project
selected wide screen
Added slide show
did a drag to add content from iPhoto album, pictures were 16:9 HD from a crop
burn dvd
What did I miss?

I can't see what you are doing or failed to do correctly. I'm not sitting in front of your computer to tell. And it's very possible you did everything correctly and iDvd simply isn't reading the 16:9 flag correctly on your particular slideshow or movie.
There's at least a couple of approaches to jolt iDvd into seeing the 16:9 flag.
The most reliable IMO is to use this handy app:
Go to: http://homepage.mac.com/sith33/FileSharing34.html and get Anamorphizer
What Anamorphizer does is set the widescreen flag in the file header so that it is recognized as such in iDVD.
The second approach is to add a 16:9 movie at the very start so iDvd sets the correct aspect ratio from the very beginning. It's much like priming a small 2 stroke engine / motor with a tiny bit of gasoline in order to get it to kick in /start properly.
(Frankly I favor the first approach and you may too).

I got it out!
Here is how.
None of the Apple-suggested ways worked. However, before totally giving up I started Roxio Popcorn and pressed the big eject button on it. It came out effortlessly!
So, I thought "Weird..."
I put the CD back in and reproduced my original problem. I got it out just as easily using Roxio Popcorn Eject feature.
So, I then thought "Maybe it is the disk?" There is nothing wrong with the disk as far as I can tell. It is perfectly round, has a smooth label-side surface. It is not even a label, it is a standard software install disk you buy in stores.
I inserted a different disk. The mini mounted it, I browsed it, and then ejected it by dragging it to trash. Worked fine.
I tried a few other disks.
The drive seems to work fine.
Maybe that CD is cursed, I dunno. I tried that disk in my PowerBook and it works fine there.
Who knows ?
I am still backing up my hard drive as I type this message in case I need to take it to the store.

The map page didn't come out in the book

I want to return the book because the map didn't came out, and I need a new one with the map. Iphoto gather all information and the map was on the layout. Don't know why didn't print out.

Album covers didn't come out after iTunes transfer...

Hello! Bought a Lumia 920 a week ago, and am loving it. However, after I transferred my music library from iTunes, many of the album cover art did not come through. In some cases, the area where the cover should be is just a gray box. Many of the entries are music that I just uploaded into my computer/iTunes from my personal discs, and attached the cover art from locating it online. Maybe that's part of the problem, but I know the covers of some albums that I purchased and downloaded online are not coming up either. Anyone have this same problem and know a way to fix? Thank you!

hi mate,
you can use an app in the Store called MPAtool that will allow you to add all the album art and background artist image as you need, automatically. i would suggest using it over WiFi only, so that you complete your task faster . I have used the app and it is pretty good.

When I use the flash on my camera, the pictures come out hazy

I have had my iPhone 4 for about a month. I purchased a Griffin case for it. When I took pictures with the flash on or on auto, the pictures came out hazy. I though it was the case because when I took it off, it didn't come out hazy. I purchased a different case, similar to the Otterbox and it is doing the same thing. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it my case or my phone? Thanks!

I purchased a black leather case from HDAccessory.com and it was very reasonably priced (less than $11.00 shipped to my house). I almost didn't buy it as I thought it would be too cheap....but it's a fantastic case with all the appropriate cutouts. It's a fliptop case with magnetic closures. Check it out.

CD tray comes out when computer is rebooted

I moved the tower the other day... about 2 weeks ago. Just moved it from one desk to another. Since then, whenever I reboot the computer, or when I turn it back on after the night the CD tray comes out.
Can I do something to fix it?

Sometimes the simple answers take a day or to to percolate up, usually because they are so simple.
I don't know why that is; I just know from my own history that it happens. That's why I think my forehead is a little sloped to the back, that is to say, what happens when one repeatedly smacks the forehead with the heel of the hand.
Glad it worked and even more glad that it was a simple fix.

Sending a slideshow via email in Photoshop Elements 10-how do you do it and have it come out good?

I made a slide show, and under properties, chose size to share via email, then attached it to an email. I viewed it, and boy was it crappy! All out of focus and broken up. How do you create a slideshow for email sizing and have it come out like the original pictures?

If you have Windows 7 you can use Live Mail. Simply click the attachment icon and add your files and you will get an instant slideshow for emailing.

Running a presentation via VGA out with Firefox/Safari open. When I hit 'esc' to come out of slideshow, monitor stated resolution too low. Now Safari and Firefox browsers are still open, but I can't see the browser window on either. Ideas?

If you use Lion, go to Applications/ Mission Control and, if you have more Desktops, as attached, it means you have more, and you must select the one you need for a certain app. If default settings has not changed, this is Control with left / right arrow
If in Snow Leopard and earlier, you have these settings in System Preferences only. In Lion, you also have some settings in Sys Prefs.

I am in dilemma.
Recently i have joined a new organization which is a world leader in its field . The company name is very popular around the globe. But the thing is its almost 4 months , and as an Oracle DBA , i am not getting chance to work on something interesting / challenging . The thing is , i studied the environment here and i think most of my work involves only preparing DB docs , attending meeting and raising support tickets once a while. So very minimal technical work.
To be honest, in last 4 years of my career i haven't worked in such a large organization before so during interview i didn't ask for type of work ,and i just wanted to join this organization as it will have a dramatic impact when i mention the name in my resume . I do not want to quit this organization so early because it will have a bad impression . Also , i think speaking to my bosses will not work because they cant help it in any way .
I am happy with every thing else here , but i want to leave this company for doing something challenging as an Oracle DBA , but want to stay here because every thing else is damn good and also when i switch to a new company after 2 years , people will be dying to hire me ;) , am i contradicting ?
Please help me to come out of this dilemma.

Well, joining a big company from a small company and then leaving it just in few days would actually backfire. Next hiring people would think that since you were in capable to handle the workload in a big company(because you never worked in such environment before), you were thrown out. You won't be able to justify your reason that you left because you didnt' find enough challenge there because it can be completely blown away by a simple counter that how did you know that there was no challenging work there as you never stayed there even for a year too! So IMO, you would do more harm for you than anything good be quitting now. Its a mistake not to ask about the work but you have committed it already . What you should n't do is to do add another one and that is to leave the company now.
Since you are not having much work, why don't you use it learn more about the company, its various works, other divisons and above all, to learn oracle database in your spare time. There is no place where you would be given challenges for your sake. If there is work it would come to you else you would be remaining free. You are working as a normal dba I believe not in support or something like that for you, every time, a new issue ticket is ready. If you have spare time with you, use it wisely to understand how things are working , both in your organization and with oralce db. Spend time doing trainings and learn more about the product, complete at least and then leave.

Sound no longer comes out of the headphones but will come out of the speakers on a m6-1035dx.

I am using Windows 7 64-bit on an HP Pavilion m6-1035dx. Sound still comes out of the main speakers but won't come out of the headphones. I tried the audio troubleshoot buttom and it couldn't detect the problem. I also tried two headphones and neither work. I didn't make any changes to my computer or really touch my computer from when it went from working to not working.

X301 problems after installing driver updates - won't come out of sleep mode

We have a new X301 with Vista 32 installed. Things were working fine until I ran system update the other day. I've set the power options so not shutdown hibernate, however, after a period of time the system seems to go to sleep or to a screen saver and will not come out of whatever state it is in. The only solution is to power off/on the system.
I have an X500 where there were display driver problems if there was an external monitor (dual monitor) attached. The only thing I can think of is that either there is some similar issue with the X301 since we have an external monitor attached or there is something that was messed up with the drivers that were installed. I do have (for now) restore points before these drivers were installed but I'm not ready to take that drastic step yet (or a full system restore and start over).
Anyone experience this type of issue or have any suggestions?

Sadly, I had the issue resurface today. It went into standby/sleep mode while I was in a meeting (on battery power), and later I tried to wake it, and all I got was a black screen with a mouse cursor.
The keyboard brightness and volume keys on the keyboard were responsive (I could hear the audio level clicks as I changed it), but the visual overlay didn't show (where it shows the white speaker graphic with the bar of rectangles representing volume level). Also, the screen brightness keys did nothing.
I finally used Ctrl + Cmd + Power to force a restart. Luckily, my user account didn't get completely hosed like it did a couple weeks ago.
So, it looks like Migration Assistant isn't the culprit here. This is the system I just finished rebuilding. So it's either a bug in OS X/Mavericks, or it's due to an application I have running, or a configuration change I've made.
It seems to only happen when I'm on battery power, for what that's worth. I don't recall it ever happening when I'm plugged in. I have Power Nap disabled while on battery power, btw.
I'm going to enable SSH access so I can try to SSH in the next time this happens. Perhaps that will provide useful diagnostic info.
Anyone have any tips or suggestions?

New Mini - Firewire plug is stuck and won't come out

This is a virtually new Mac Mini; A firewire plug from my 20" Cinema display is stuck in the firewire port and won't come out. (I'm trying to disassemble this mini to move to another location.)
I'm trying very hard not to pull too hard because I don't want to damage the firewire port. But I don't know what to do - it's just stuck and won't come out.

Well, I finally got it out after fiddling with it, and walking away several times. I had to make sure I didn't damage it, so I approached it very gingerly.
How did I get it out? It's amazing what actually worked. What worked was grasping ONLY the firewire chord about 1 to 2 inches away from the plug and pulling Only on the chord straight out.
Doing it this way, it popped out with very little resistance. Strangely, the Apple Cinema Display firewire plug almost seems to click when you plug it in.
So I immediately tested a generic firewire plug (non-Apple related) and it plugged in and pulled out with no problems or resistance whatsoever.
"This completes my test of the Apple Cinema Display Firewire plug." (a joke there)

[SOLVED] Sound will come out of the speakers, but not the headphones.

So, the headphones won't play any sound (they work with my phone, not on my laptop) when plugged in.
When the headphones are plugged into the jack, the speakers mute, so I know that the laptop is registering that they got plugged in, but still no sound comes out.
