Slideshow in Brush Template

Ok i'll try to explain whet im trying to do, Im using the Brush template from Motion, beautiful by the way. I know the clips can be extended by simply going to media source and looping it. my question when i first eplacment picture comes up how can i hold on the frame and add my own slideshow in it and then proceed to the next replacement hold as well another slideshow and so on, basically want to extend the clip but really want to hold in parts while i add a slideshow then proceed. I could make my slideshows in iphoto and drag into as a movie file, would like to do it all in Motion but don't really know where to start with this issue or even if it's possible. Thanks Charles

I have a macbook pro and iphoto08 and was having the same issue on my book - - what I finally did was change the layout to full page (1 photo to a page and style #1 full page). You then ctrl click on the photo and choose the option "Change Fit Photo to Frame Size. This should work and if it does not go to edit and make sure that some parts of the photo were not "cropped". Readjust it and redo. Good Luck

How can I insert a widget slideshow into a template-based page in Dreamweaver

HI, I Have a question that has been nagging me for the last three hours.
I have been trying to insert a slideshow into a template based document using the insert widget function in Dreamweaver CS 5.5. The problem is that I contine to get the error that
    "This widget requires code that must be inserted into the head of the current document. Insertion cannot happen because the head of this document is read only."
I have tried to edit the template file in order to make the head tag into an editable region. I have tried to resolve the problem by eliminating the
 function call and instead using the 
function, but all that does is grey out all the code on the page following the this function call. The other side effect of using this method is that the child documents do not even have a header anymore.
I do not know if this is just a lack of understanding how this works, or if there is a bug in Dreamweaver.
Any help in this subject wold be appreciated.

Unfortunately, I have tried it, but continue to recieve the same error message. I have double checked the syntax and positioning of the editable regions, and they match yours completely. In the child page everything is editable. Do you have any other suggestions for this perplexing problem? Thanks

How to insert a Jquery slideshow to a template based html page?

I would like to insert a simple jquery slideshow into an existing div in an html page which is linked to a template page. Do I add the js files and code to the template html or the child html where I want the slideshow? Do I need to divorce the page from the template? It seems that the js has to be put into the head from what I've read so far and this is not editable in a template child...
lunairecollective.com/news.html is the page I wish to alter, currently there are very simple links with swap text of container. I would like to have a cyclic slideshow in the div to replace the current swap images and links.
The website is in html4 transitional, and I'm using Dreamweaver cc

Yes, there are editable areas in the child page as you saw from the website address. And I can see there are some editable elements in the head, though not all of it. Could you show me where I should insert the javascript code for a jQuery slideshow please? The relevant code follows:

Photoshpo CS6 Missing Brush Templates in Eraser Tool

This happened to my eraser tool ... somehow all of my round brushes have turned to hard brushes
Has anyone encountered this before?

They are pixelated because you are in "Pencil" mode.
Notice how it says Pencil in your image? Select brushes.
It probably happened because you pressed the "B" button on accident.

How to make Changes to Brush Menu Button Template!

I know this should be easy, but I'm not having luck so I thought I'd ask the forum:
I am using the BRUSH template for a chapter index. The default chapter button drop zones for the video look as if they have a hazy effect over them. I'm trying in vain to make changes to this so the video appears crisp and clear but I can't find out how to modify these drop zones.
Can anyone help? Thanks!

It's not the drop zones themselves, it's the "patches" that are used to fill the drop zones. The patches are Apple-supplied image files, difficult to locate. I don't know if they're editable but you want to make a copy of the entire template file before you go in and start messing with it.

Lightroom slideshow templates

How can I have a slideshow with various templates in the one show?

You mean have the slideshow start out with one slideshow template design and
then say 10 minutes in it changes to a different slideshow template?
No this can't be done. You might be able to combine two seperate pdf
slideshows generated in Lightroom using Adobe Acrobat. But, this can't be
done in Lightroom.

Inserting Flash in a DW template

I'm relatively new to Dreamweaver (version 8) and I'm having
a problem inserting a flash (.swf) slideshow of pictures into a
template that then updates several webpages. The problem is, when I
insert the flash into the template page and the webpages get
updated, the flash animation does not play on the webpages and just
has a white box. If I detach the template from the webpage, then
the flash displays correctly. But the problem with that is then
there is no point to using a template because I would have to
manually update each webpage instead of just the template when I
want to make a change to all the webpages. The problem must be with
the template, because when I try to attach the template to a very
simple webpage containing only a couple words and no other
graphics, the flash will not display correctly. Any ideas on what
is wrong or how I can insert a flash slideshow into a template so
that it updates the webpages correctly?

Make the link to the Flash element ROOT relative.
That way, the link doesn't need to be managed and will work
just fine in
your Template child pages.

Issues with spry gallery in a DW template

Hi all,
I have incorporated a spry gallery I originally found at:
http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/spry_photo_album_02.html
into my page. This works fine until I save my page as a template.The js seems to dissapear leaving the gallery area blank. The rest of the page is fine.
I understand this tutorial was written for v8 but have no idea why it wont work in a CS4 template.
I even tested the tutorial html by creating a new site and coverting the html file into a template. Gallery doesnt work.
Any help on this would be awesome as the gallery area was to be a main feature on the home page.

Sharepoint Online - Content Search, some Display Templates missing.

I'm experimenting Content Search web parts in a number of Site Collections, but appear to be getting different Display Templates available.
Can anyone explain what controls the availability of the templates please...

I just had the same issue, I think it was something with broken upgrade code from 2013.
Anyways, I solved it:
Go to Master Page Gallery --> Display Templates --> Content Web Parts
Delete all JavaScript Files in there except the Group_Content.js (!!!), they seem to have messed up metadata (Content Type Reference and Template Level)
Open up PowerShell and issue this command:
Get-SPFeature SearchTemplatesandResources | Enable-SPFeature -Url [URLtoBrokenSite] -Force
This will re-upload the JavaScript files and all controls and templates finally are there again, hopefully ;)

Slideshow image resizing when adding new images

I am creating a series of slideshows on multiple pages. I created one slide show using the "basic" slideshow and resized it to the dimensions and settings I wanted. I have many pictures all of different proportion, therefore, I selected the "fill frame proportionally" so they would all fit the dimension I set. I wanted to use this first slideshow as a template for all of the rest. I added images to this first slideshow with no problems. All of my different sized images scaled or cropped to fit within the dimension I set. The problem comes in when I do two things: 1) When I add other images of different dimensions to this same slideshow gallery, they come smaller that the intended dimensions I set previous. I check the setting and it is still on "fill frame proportionally" similar to the first batch of pictures. 2) The second issue is when copy this slideshow as a template to other pages. When I try to replace or add to the slideshow gallery, the images come in cropped or smaller rather than filling the frame. Again, the settings are still the same from my very first slideshow that worked just as i intended.
I could resize all the images to all the same dimensions using another program like photoshop, but that is another step that is very tedious and it would seem that it should be something built into Muse.
Is there a way around this?. Am I doing something wrong? Or is this just one of those glitches that happens with Muse? I appreciate any help that I can get.

Hi, I got it to work like this:
Using background colours in Photoshop so that all sizes are the same in pixels. Then manually adjusting thumbnails by double-clicking on them so that a red square appears.

Hi there Elsemiekagain,
I had to fiddle around with my slide show to get it to work. That is, it worked at first, then went funky, and I had to fiddle. So much fiddling that I can't possibly know what actually made it start to work again.
And to some degree, this is the way that I find Muse to be in general. That it requires finessing to get it to work as expected. This adds a good deal of time to every development project, though I am getting better at this with practice and experience.
Most of it is not even things that could be easily put in words as instructions, as many are nanced. But in fairness, this version of Muse is a complete code re-write this year. So we do need to cut Adobe some slack, and give the team time to iron things out.

Very Basic Slideshow question

I have a question about creating a slideshow -- in the Help File, it says to Save as a file, and then says that if I want the show to automatically replay, select Loop. Where do I select loop??? When I hit Save as a File, it asks for name of file, but does not ask anything else. I know this is probably really easy, but I am going crazy. Can someone please put me out of my misery?

Are you making your slideshow using the option under the create button or a web gallery slideshow under the share button?
I believe you only have the loop option for web galleries and it also depends which template you use when you first create your project.
The slideshow and journal templates seem to loop automatically i.e after the last photo the sequence starts again from the first until the viewer presses pause/stop.
Other templates such as standard and animated normally stop after the last slide. These web-gallery slideshows can be uploaded to Adobe or other web-sites for on line viewing.

Why does Muse slideshow shrink my header?

I put the Muse slideshow into my custom site template and for some reason it shrunk my header that contains my logo. I went in and took out any conflicting body styles, but it didn't help. Slideshow seems to work OK, but not a good look with the header smaller than header on other pages of the site.

I wondering if it is possible to pause a clip in FCP.
Im trying to use the Brush template in Motion, can't figue out how to pause it in there so i dropped it in FCP. In the template there are spots where you can add your own pictures or movie clips im trying to add slideshows in there but i need the template paused so that you see the full slideshow, example 3 minute slideshow insert to a 18 second brush template need it to pause while the slideshow still goes on then start template again till next slideshow pause and so on, thanks left post in Motion forum but i think i might have more luck in FCP.

Mine too. Not fixed following two resets, so a restore might be in my future. Will report back here when I get around to that.

Ok, your slideshow, photo album template in iphoto is THE BOMB.. so cool!
But, someone thought, hey lets put one that cuts all the photos up and almost surely cuts the important part of whatever the original photo was.. grr?
It wouldn't be so bad, if we could go back through the presentation and mix and match to make that slide work, but inevitably, it cuts out someone's head?
Please tell me there is a work around, or way to tell it not to use that slide option? I'd rather have more photo on photos or multi photo frames than anything auto cutting pictures.

Many of the themes are not designed for portrait oriented photos. That's what you're running into with the scrapbook theme. Not much you can do about it.
There's a 3rd party slideshow application, PhotoPresenter, that has over 25 animated themes. There are several that are sort of like the scrapbook that do handle the portrait as they should be handled. Some of the available themes are shown in this demo page: PhotoPresenter Animated Slideshow Themes. Look at Portfolio, Frame and Album. It integrates seamlessly with iPhoto. and iTunes You can download and run it in demo mode.
The early fading of music in a slideshow is a well documented problem. Just send your complaint/bug report to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html. The more reports the better.

Adobe, please fix these bugs/features in Muse

So, here are a couple of really annoying things/bugs that keep happening in Muse.
(I've been working with the software for about three weeks, latest Muse CC update, on a MBP Retina, OS X 10.9.5, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB + 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3)
1. When I try to hit "Preview" and browse my website, the links to other pages than the initial one don't work, and you need to go back to the "Plan" and open each one of them individually, and then hit "Preview" in all of them, in order to be able to browse the entire website without getting blank pages.. Is there any way to come around this, and be able to set Muse to render ALL of the pages before previewing the website?
2. When I try to adjust the sizes of thumbnails in a slideshow, and zoom in on guides, it's IMPOSSIBLE to make them align perfectly to ANYTHING! The thumbnails just keep moving and popping around, and they don't follow the mouse movements at all, they just make rough changes in sizes and are very hard to work with. It doesn't matter if I zoom in 800% for example, things don't move or adjust smoothly at all, like in Illustrator for example.
3. Sometimes, it's impossible to copy a slideshow- it just freezes, even if I click down and select the thumbnail box. It seems like a bug, since the copy function comes back after I quit and restart the software, or just make a new slideshow from scratch and then delete it (seems to re-set something, I don't have a clue). The "copy" button under the "Edit" menu is simply shadowed out.. Why is that? It would be really nice to be able to alt-click-drag-and-drop these things, especially when you try to build a portfolio.. But, this is impossible for me, at the moment- the plus-sign in the green circle pops up, but it just moves the thumbnail section, it doesn't copy it..
4. Is there ANY way to make all slideshow thumbnail sections moveable? Even if they have the option "Free Form Thumbnails" deselected? What if I need to move lots of galleries on the same page, that need to have different form options selected, for visual reasons? At the moment, I can't select all different thumbnail galleries on my page, and move them all at the same time, which is quite irritating..
5. When I click a thumbnail in the middle or at the end of the gallery, there's a fast flash of previous images in the gallery, before the chosen image is shown fullscreen. Is there any way to get rid of this unwanted visual glitch? I just want them all to open like the very first image in the gallery, without any ghosting of previous images.. I have the horizontal swipe effect in these galleries, if that makes any difference..
6. Is there any way to make custom adjustments to thumbnail sizes, inserting a fixed width and height? Or, save a slideshow as a template, to use the same properties in another gallery?
7. Will it ever be possible to have different sizes of thumbnails in the same slideshow? What's the best way to make a gallery in a portfolio with artworks of different aspect ratios?
8. Why is not my embedded Youtube videos included when I export the project like a html-file? There's only a broken link/code in the video area, at the moment.. Will this be a problem later, when I really need to upload it on my server?
9. Is it not possible at all to import svg-files in a slideshow? Why is it possible in external widgets, but not in the built-in slideshow widget? I can place and import svg-files into the page, but not drag or import them to the slideshow itself..
I really like Muse, but I find it very hard and irritating to work with lots of times, so please fix these issues, or tell me how to avoid them, thanks!

1. There are multiple ways to preview your work when using Muse.
Preview Mode - When you click the Preview button at the top right to open Preview Mode Muse will generate the HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images and assets for the page in the front Design view (or the Home page, if you're not in Design view) in the Preview tab/window. If you navigate to a different page by following a hyperlink Muse will generate the code for that page and display it. This in-app preview uses the OS browser, so the display uses Safari on the Mac or IE on Windows. Since the code for each page is generated/updated when it's navigated to, navigation to a page for the first time is slow.
Preview Page in Browser - If you select this option the code for the current page is generated and opened in your default browser. If you follow a link to another page, it will fail with a 404 file not found error, since this option only previews a single page. It's fast, but limited to one page.
Preview Site in Browser - If you select this option the code for your entire site will be generated and your home page will be opened in your default browser. You can freely navigate between pages via hyperlinks, since the preview exported the code for all the pages of your site. This option is very convenience for previewing your full site, but is much slower for a multi-page site than Preview Page in Browser.
Publish - If you select this option you can create a free temporary website on Adobe hosting. This is very handy when you want to view your site on multiple devices or have someone else review the site before you Publish or Upload the site to its production hosting location.

The web is pixel based. There are (mostly) no fractional amounts. While you can zoom in, ultimately your output will be aligned (and limited to) whole pixel boundaries.
When working with thumbnails, the ramifications of working in whole pixel based media are magnified. For example, if you're using tiled thumbnails and have an 8 wide layout the total width will have to be a multiple of 8. You can only increase all 8 by whole pixel increments.

If Muse is truly freezing, we'd need to understand more about the steps involved. What I expect you're encountering is the fact you can copy and paste an entire widget, but you cannot copy and paste the individual parts of a widget. If you select the widget cut and copy are enabled. If you click a second time to select one part of the widget, then cut and copy are disabled. Most the widgets don't support having two parts of the same type (i.e. two next buttons, two sets of thumbnails, etc.) so at least copy and paste can't currently be supported. Those are limitations we'd like to remove, but for now they are the current limitations when working with widgets.

I believe you're asking to be able to simultaneously select the thumbnail sets for multiple slideshow widgets? You're correct, that's currently not supported. The selection model is limited to selecting items that are siblings in the Layers panel. You can select two slideshow widgets, but not the parts inside one widget at the same time as the parts inside another.

Noted as a feature request. When the sliding transition was implemented the most common ask was for the current behavior, so that's what's provided. Fade provides a transition between two images without any feedback of the images that were passed over.

Given the next question is about setting each thumbnail to be a different size, I'm not sure I understand this question. You can select a thumbnail and enter height and width values in the Transform panel or Control Strip. However, all thumbnails share the same size, so all of them will be updated to the new size. Not sure that answers what you're asking?
[edit: Zak] Regarding the second half of this question, a slideshow (or any other object or collection of objects) can be saved in the Library and used again in later projects.

When "Scale to Fit" is used for the sizing of the thumbnails, they will appear with the aspect ratio of the original image sized to fit within the thumbnail container box.

Insufficient information here to be certain, but I suspect you've exported to a local folder and then opened the index.html (or other .html) file in your browser? When open a file directly in your browser "file://" protocol is used. Many/most services such as YouTube won't work on a .html page loaded using "file://" protocol. That's part of why Muse has a built-in mini-web server and the Preview, Preview Page in Browser and Preview Site in Browser features, which server up the .html files using "http://" protocol. Or you can Publish to a free temporary site on Adobe hosting.

Correct. Support for SVG was recently added for Muse 2014.2. Support for including SVG graphics in slideshows was not part of the initial release.
In the future, while it may seem excessive, it's much more effective to create a new thread for each different issue/concern/topic you wish to discuss. When a thread starts with a large number of different topics it often goes unanswered because no one forum member or Adobe staffer feels qualified to respond to all the questions. Or, if it does get responses, it ends up being impossible to follow the discussion because so many different topics are intermingled. Thanks.
