COPA and Sales BOM

We create a sale order for a pack. The pack is created with sub-components A, B, C. When the sale order and the follow up documents (billing...) are created the sale BOM explodes and the attached sub components (A,B,C )are seen in the sale order. However only the quantity is displayed for each of the lower level components (A,B,C). The value is zero. The condition is attached only to the higher level component i.e.-pack. Thus the line item for the pack component has the qty and value.
There are no conditions attached to any lower level components (A,B,C).
We want to carry the document to CO-PA with quantity and value. The quantity needs to be the quantity of the sub components (A,B,C)
The value that needs to be carried to CO-PA is the value  for the pack component - apportioned to the sub components (A,B,C) in the ratio of the sub component quantity.
Any suggestions how this can be set up in SAP.
Thanks....

Hi,
Assign COGS condition type with COPA Value field in transaction KE4I.

  • Pick & Pack and Sales BOM components

We have noticed that pick and pack will put sales BOM component items on the list even if all the component items are not available to complete the parent Sales Item. If we are not watchful, we can inadvertently ship a partial kit - i.e. ship only a left shoe if the right shoe to complete the pair happens not to be in stock.
Does anyone know of a way to ensure that pick and pack only allows/recommends complete Sales BOM's? Same issue exists for Deliveries.

  • Cross Selling and Sales BOMs as results

    Hello,
We are expanding our use of Cross Selling.  One of the requests is that cross selling return a list that includes items that are setup as Sales BOMs.
    For example:
    Cross selling is setup for:
    Sales Org/DC/Division/Material
    1000/01/01/ABC
    Alternate Materials
    AAA
    BBB
CCC - CCC has a BOM with usage 5 and when entered on an order normally, it expands to items CCA and CCB.
Create an order and enter material ABC
Cross Selling shows with the three options above.
Add a qty of 1 for material CCC and copy it to the order
Item CCC is copied to the order, with the correct item category but does not then have the subitems of CCA and CCB.
Is there a way to make the item added via cross selling explode the sales bom, or will this not work?  I know that BOM items cannot initiate cross selling, but wasn't aware it didn't work if it was a result of cross selling.  Thank you.

    Thank you for the response.
The item category is configured correctly, as the BOM does explode on the order correctly when entered manually, it only fails to add the sub-components when added as a result of the cross selling.  The note you specified is not applicable to our system, we are currently on 4.7 and not upgrading to ECC6 until this summer.

  • CU50 difference in Engineering BOM cost and Sales BOM cost

    regards
    janardhan

    Hello Janardhan,
This is standard SAP behaviour. As per details given by you, it seems that material's consfiguration profile have settings of "Order BOM" and "multi-level" in CU43 transaction. So for such settings, system behaves differently for Engineering BOM and sales order cost estimates as given below.
    1. Click on u201CEngineeringu201D Button and then click on u201CCalculationu201D  Button : System simulates the cost estimates through transaction CU51. And in CU51 BOM explosion for cost estimate is multilevel. So system will show all the components in the BOM of header material. So you will find all the components listed in Cost estimate simulation.
    2. Directly click on u201CCalculationu201D  button : System simulates the cost estimates as it use to simulate in VA01 transaction. Becasue of this, there is NO BOM explosion till last level. System will only simulate the Cost estimate by exploding the BOM till 1st level. So system will show only 1st level BOM components. So you will find only 1st level BOM components listed.
So dont try to check anything in it, as its standard SAP behaviour.

    Nachiket.

  • Issue with Formatted Search and Sales BOM

    Good afternoon,
One of our customers uses a Formatted Search on the Sales Order row to lookup the Project Code stored against the Item.
This works very well, except for when a Sales BOM is selected.  I assume the FS lookup is working correctly, but the screen is quickly refreshed to list all the component items related to the BOM.  This process appears to overwrite the contents of the Project field.
We wish to keep this functionality, but retain the FS lookup results in the Project column.  Could the order of the process be changed so that the BOM refresh occurs prior to the FS lookup.
    Thanks

    Hi,
For metadata, which metadata are you not seeing? Are they custom properties within the PDF, and have you checked if you have crawled properties matching these?
I know there's issue with last modified on PDF's (http://sharepointfieldnotes.blogspot.no/2013/05/understanding-and-getting-sharepoint.html)

  • Sales BOM And Free Goods workaround

we have 1 good with a sale BOM and we want to give the Same good away as a free good, so if the customer buys 10 he gets one free, however there is a problem with the BOM not exploding. Can anyone suggest a workaround this.

    Hi
I think this is a standard sap issue.
When we give a free good the item category becomes TANN. Now BOM material will have different item category. TAB.
Now for BOM category material, i think there is no free good item category. Probably u can try creating a new category which wil be a free goods category and which will carry all the characteristics of BOM mateerial.
Furthermore i think this will be issue only with exclusive free goods. But if u have inclusive free goods then there will be no BOM issue as there will be no other line item added for free goods.
    Kind regards

  • Account-based COPA and having Cost Center as Real Object in Sales Order

    Hi,
We have recently activated account-based COPA and in our SO, we realized the Profitability Segment being populated- that is not a problem in normal scenarios.
However, in some cases, we would like to charge to a cost center instead of COPA. We have tried the 2 ways mentioned in the forum/on the web to include Cost Center in Sales Order:
    1. Go to OVF3 t-code and configure a default cost center for the order reason
    2. Change the SD Document Category under 'Define Sales Document Types' to 'I- Order w/o charge'.
However both ways only open the Cost center field but still populates the COPA. At accounting entries, cost center will become a statistical object and COPA, the real object- which is not what we want.
Is there a way to stop the auto-populating of Profitabiltiy Segment in SO when cost center is being entered?
Thanks very much in advance for any suggestions.
    Regards,
    Huimin

Solved by myself, with help of OSS Note: 44381 - Profitability Segment Not Required in SD Postings. Have a CO substitution rule to clear away the Profitability Segment number based on certain conditions. Thanks!

  • Sales BOM and Incompletion Log

    Hi SAP experts.
We are on ECC 5.0. Wer are exploding sales BOM in sales orders. I have a requirement that if for certain reason a BOM fails to explode for a particular line item then that item should be go an incomletion log. I was able to select field VBAP-STKEY (BOM ORIGIN) in incompletion procedure at the item category level.
However the problem i have with this is even if the BOM explodes the order is set to incomplete once I add VBAP-STKEY to the incompletion procedure. I find the VBAPSTKEY also gets a value of 5 in the table however the order is stil shown as incomplete. I am not sure if this is a bug.
If it is not possible to control this via incompletion log is there a way to ensure that if a sales BOM does not explode in sales order the system should not create delivery for that line item.
Any response will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Praful

    Dear Praful
    You can try with this.
Go to OVA2, block "Sales-Item" and double click on "Procedures".  Again block on "Standard Item" and double click on "Fields".  There maintain as follows:-
    Table::Fld name::::::::Description:::::::::Screen:::Status
    VBAP:::UEPOS:::::::Higher-level item:::POST::::::04

  • Reconfigure sales BOM deletes line item and creates new line item

We are having issue with Sales BOM. Once sales BOM is reconfigure, line item is automatically deleted and creates new line item. These changes are not captured by reporting tool. Is it standard SAP behavior? if its not standard behavior, how to fix this issue?

    Hi,
If i am not wrong, i assume you are using site instead of plant.   If it is plant , then "yes", we can have a order with same material being line item 10 and 20 with different plants.  Reg delivery, if the plants are configured to a same shipping point then you will have one delievery.  if the plants are configured for a different shipping point , then delivery will be split up.
    Reward if it helps,

  • Sales BOM : Header item stock and cost

    Hello gurus,
I'm very new for sales BOM and have one questions.
We have material A and B (purchased from vendor).
They will be assembled by 3PL company as C.
Then we will sell C to the our customer.
I want to set price/cost at the header item level.
because we will sell material B free of charge.
    I've set C like below
    1. Item category group. : ERLA
       Item category : TAQ
       Setting of A and B
        Item category group. : NORM
       Item category : TAE
    2. Then make BOM in tcode CS01 with C
        Material : C
        Plant: XXXX
        BOM Usage :5
        subitem : A, B
        Item category : N(Non-stock item)
After then I tried to make a sales order
    with material C.
    I can get sub-items(A,B) successfully
however system said there is no atp stock for C.
How can I get stock of C from stock of A and B?
And How can I set the cost of C with value of A+B?
And How can I set the condition of C to calculate cost of C in header level?
    or can I set like
price is determined in header level and cost is calculated in item level?
    Or please recommend nicer solution.
    Thank you very much.
    J.K.

    Hi Azam,
It seems to me that you want to use Delivery Group for Sales BOM where If Mat A = Mat B + Mat C and Mat B Availability date is 20/07/2014 (DD/MM/YYYY) and Mat C availability is 25/07/2014 then Main line item should be confirmed with 25/07/2014.
If any one sub Item is not available, then Any of the item from the Grouping should not be dispatched.
If this is the requirement then, In Item Category (VOV7) for main Item update Create Delivery Group field with X and your requirement will be fulfilled.
Do let us know the result after testing.
    Regards,
    MJ.

  • Sales BOM inventory and COGS

    Hi all
If a sales BOM is on an AR Invoice, I want to hit COGS and inventory of its components, not of the parent item. This used to be the case with an earlier SAP 2007A release. However, when we upgraded to a new patch 35, this has changed. Now when a sales BOM is sold (AR invoice), for some reason it doesn't hit COGS of its components, but of the parent item.
    For example
    Sales BOM ABC123 consists of
    item 1
    item 2
    item 3
When ABC123 is sold, it should hit both inventory and COGS of item 1, item 2 and item 3! Not of ABC123
Is this some sort of a setting in SAP that can be changed? Thanks!
    Simon

    Hi Simon
I am on PL37 of SAP Business One 2007A and tested with a Sales BOM that has 2 children items. One is set at Warehouse level and the other at Group level. The COGS posted correctly for both children to their respective COGS accounts.
Are you using Warehouse or Item Group level account determination? Also check which warehouse/(s) the individual children are posting from on the Invoice.
    Kind regards

  • BOM Details in to a Purchase and Sales Documents

    Hi
How to get BOM Details in to a Purchase and Sales Documents (With COmponentItems Details).

    Hi Chakrapani Bandaru,
According to our knowledge, only BOM of 'Sales' type can be displayed with its components together in Sales documents. But this kind of BOM can not be selected in Purchase documents since they can not be 'Purchased Item' (Item Master Data).
Additionally, BOM of 'Template' type can also display its components in Sales/Purchase documents, but in a different way. The parent and its children are parallel in the documents.

  • Sales BOM and related to cost

    Dear All,
Our client has requirement of sales package as below:
    1. They want sell sales BOM as sales package
    2. Material A is main item, and material B, C, and D as component
    3. They sell material A and want the revenue also cost post to material A
My colleague said already set up the config sales BOM,  and the result are:
Revenue post to material A (father/main item)
Cost post to material b, c, and d.
However our client need all cost moved to main item (material A)
How's the behaviour of sales bom exactly? Especially the costing?
And what must we do to cover the requirement.
    Regards,
    Dewi

    Hi,
Go to VTFL --- > Select the document type --> Go to item level and tick the cumulate the cost.
    Cumulate cost
This field is used in the main item to control whether the cost value (usually condition type VPRS) is to be copied from the relevant sub-items. The following cases are taken into account:
Free of charge sub-items (free goods)
    Batch split items
    Bill of material components
This function is needed especially if the sub-items involved are not relevant for billing. In this case the costs of these sub-items do not appear in CO-PA or the statistics
Hope this will resolve your issue.

    Krishna O.
