SM12 save layout

Hi gurus,
Is it possible save a layout for transaction SM12? Options are displayed but are disabled!
There isn't OSS note about this problem. Version is 6 ECC.
Thank you!
I will reward points all answers!!!

Hi,
As pointed out there is no save layout for the transaction SM12. The very purpose of the SM12 transaction is to check the lock entries which the users have locked the particular table for updation. Since its a dynamic data, it will vary from time to time. If you have the authorization, then you can delete the lock entries.
The option which you can go ahead is :- We can change the layout as desired and save the same in the excel file or local file (F9) so that the desired data is saved.
Hope this helps.

  • IN ALV Report 'SAVE LAYOUT' option missing

    Dear All,
                 I have created one report in ALV GRID using ABAP OBJECTS(Using class CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER and
    CL_GUI_ALV_GRID).But in output when i click on change layout option i am not getting SAVE layout option.
    I have already passed I_SAVE parameter = 'A' while calling metod SET_TABLE_FOR_FIRST_DISPLAY. But i didnt worked.
               Please do needful.
    Regards,
    Mayank

    Hi,
    You can manage display variants by using parameters, “is_variant” and “i_save” of “set_table_for_first_display”. Here are options for variant handling. <structure_name> is the variant-defining structure of type “DISVARIANT”. The field “report” in this structure should contain the value of “sy-repid.”
    Hope this helps. Reward points if helpful.
    Thanks,

  • Error while trying to save layout:Console layout (Access is denied)

    Got an error while trying to save changes made in the layout,
    The error message is
    1) 'Preference.properties' (Access is denied), In the details button 'java.io.FileNotFoundException...'
    2) and on continuing futher, another message displayed is - 'Error while trying to save layout:Console layout (Access is denied)
    There is no Oracle Error Number associated with this message. It is a Oracle Warehouse Builder Error
    I have checked that
    1) this file exist in owb home/owb/bin/admin/Preference.properties
    2) It is not read only
    3) tried to set a parameter REPOS_DB_VERSION_ALLOWED=Oracle 10g
    as specified in the Installation and Admin Guide
    Please can you help?

    Also, not that you shouldn't get to the bottom of this, but you should be aware that any of your development or mapping changes are likely still being saved to the respository.
    In other words, you could continue working and just ignore these errors. We ran into this situation (it was indeed simply file permissions on the owb directories), but we noticed right away that at least our actual OWB work was in fact still being committed to the respository every time.

    hi ,
    it depends on the user parameters.
    U have to identify the parameter id and u have to activate it in user maintainance partameters .
    su01 -> parameters.
    ex .  parameter id ->  SD_VARIANT_MAINTAIN -> X
    so u can save layout now.

  • Select layout & save layout button missing in the toolbar

    Hi guys,
    I've just developed my first ALV using ABAP objects, but the tollbat doesn't contain buttons select &save layout.
    what could be worng?
    Thanks a lot!
    olian

    Look at ALV display variant related parameters
    - is_variant Don't forget to give the report name is_variant-report = sy-repid before calling set_table_for_first_display.
    - is_save Give to is_save a value allowing to save variant to get the save icon. (X-standard, A-all, U-user variants, not space)
    (Also take a look at [ALV Gird Control (BC-SRV-ALE)|http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/Print46c/en/data/pdf/BCSRVALV/BCSRVALV.pdf])

  • HOW TO ACTIVATE SAVE LAYOUT OPTION IN VA05 T CODE

    Dear Genios,
    i am facing probel to activate the save layout option in any sap standard reports.
    I want to create & save a layout in standard report va05.
    please help me for the same.
    Regards
    Rabin Nayak

    Go to SU01/SU3 ( to ur ID) select parameters tab and then scrol down and press F4 select SD_VARIANT_MAINTAIN and in the next field select A or X then try it will allow u to save ur own variant.(the save icon come to screen variant selection screen)
    More on this:
    By default, SAP user can't save report layout in some SAP SD t-code such as: VA05 and SDO1. The 'save' menu will be grey. But, you actually can save the layout by adding a parameter in your SAP user profile. You do that with t-code: SU3. Go to 'parameters' tab and add new parameter id, which is: SD_VARIANT_MAINTAIN'. The parameter value for that is 'A'. Then save your user profile and try again to save layout in VA05 or SDO1 t-code.

  • Save layout option for FITRV_PRINT_TABLE_CONTROL_DATA

    Hello,
    I need to print table control data ,for this am using FITRV_PRINT_TABLE_CONTROL_DATA
    My requirement is now to have the option to save the layout which is generated after calling this function module.
    currently 'save layout' is not shown in the pf status and is disabled in the menu. only change layout is enabled which cannot be saved.
    1. Can we enable the save layout inside this list generated by fm.if yes how.
    2. can we have custom buttons inside the list generated using this fm.if yes how.
    3. Copying fm and convert to Z can do it I guess but I want to check if there is any option with the existing standard fm .
    4. Is it better to remove this fm and generate a new alv list  for the table control. which option is better.
    Thank you.

  • 'Save layout' button missing in the ALV report layout screen

    Hi Friends,
         In one of our ALV report the 'save layout' button is missing in the report output screen.i have used the OO concept for creating the ALV output and not the function module.I have attached the code below used for creating the ALV grid.
    CREATE OBJECT alv_grid
          EXPORTING i_parent = g_container_2.
    CALL METHOD alv_grid->set_table_for_first_display
         exporting
                   i_structure_name = 'PA0002'
                   is_layout =
           CHANGING
                     it_outtab = gt_outtab
                     it_fieldcatalog = wa_fieldcat.
    But i'm not able to trace why the 'save layout' button is missing in the output.Can anyone of you help me in sorting out this problem.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vadivel.

    Pass <u><i><b>A to I_SAVE</b></i></u> parameter. That will give the options to the user to save the layout outs.
    I_SAVE = SPACE
    Layouts cannot be saved.
    I_SAVE = 'U'
    Only user-defined layouts can be saved.
    I_SAVE = 'X'
    Only global layouts can be saved.
    I_SAVE = 'A'
    Both user-defined and global layouts can be saved.

    Ravi

  • IMR7 : Creation of a new Screen Variant does not save Layout

    Hello,
    In IMR7, if I create a new screen Variant with a modified the default Layout field, the next time I log-in to SAP, system does not recognize my Layout selection.
    Do you have a suggestion?
    Thanks
    François

    Hello,
    Thanks for your support but it did not resolved my problem.
    When I save Layout I  have three fields:
    -Layout name
    -User-specific checkbox
    -Description
    Even though User-specific is not checked, next time I relog to SAP and choose my Variant, the layout I have chosen in this variant is not keeped in memory. A layout named 4_SAP_IM is always displayed.
    Do you have the same behavior?
    Thanks
    François

    Dear Arvind,
    If you are using "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY" and not passing "I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = SY-REPID", You will not be able to save layout.
    So I request all to pass following parameters to save layout.
       CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
        EXPORTING
          I_CALLBACK_PROGRAM = SY-REPID
          IS_LAYOUT                     = WA_LAYOUT
