  • Canon Printer mx860 not working since upgrade to Yosemite, it is connected to my Mac via usb.  Any suggestions?  Thanks. LL

My 2009 Canon MX860 Pixma printer not working since an upgrade to Yosemite on my MAC version 10.10. It is connected by USB.  Have had no previous issues with printing, scanning or faxing.  When trying to print my Calendar I only get light vertical dotted lines, none horizontal, no words and vague header colors. Checked printer image on the  on my MAC which shows the same problem.  All of the color and black cartridges are new.
The recent upgrade to the Canon application says it is completed but it is not, image on application upgrade is a circle with an X.
Any suggestions?  Could this simply be a compatibility problem?  I'd sure like to keep my Canon printer.
    Thanks,  LL

Can you open System Information (Applications > Utilities) and select Printers in the left sidebar. If the MX is the only printer connected to the Mac then its information will be shown in the right pane. If you have more than one printer, then a list will be shown in the top right pane. Select the MX to see its information in the bottom right pane. Can you copy this information and paste back here for me to check.

  • My morphie pack does not work since upgrading

My juice pack (Morphie) Does not work since i have upgraded the ios to 7.1.1
I have two iphones a 4s that has not been updated yet and also the 5s which has been updated. The 4s is working perfectly well with the juice pack but the 5s is absoultely crap to say the least. I complained to Morphie and to their credit the sent me a new pack and it has the same problem. This MEANS since the update there has been a change with apple and they have made our 100€ chargers redundant as I only get 20 - 25% extra battery when I should be getting a full charge
This is not acceptable for phones that are expensive and the accessories that we buy to go with them are also an additional expense and very expensieve to. That doesnt matter too much when they work, but then they dont it is NOT good.
Someone come back to us and give us a solution please.

Thanks guys for the responses but I am not convinced this is a MOPHIE problem. Their customer service department have been great and look after their clients. I have two iphone 4s´s which have not been upgraded for fear of being left with the rubbish battery I have with my relatively new iphone 5s. Mophie have replaced the amost new juice pack that I had with a completely new one that has the same problem...... funny how this has happened since the ios 7.1.1. update
I have been using MOPHIE juice packs for a number of years and have never experienced anything like this before. It seems rather strange that after upgrading I have this problem that APPLE negates to rectify.
Of course I wouldn´t have to use a 3rd party accessory if the battery was made to last and if APPLE had an alternative, I would of course buy apple but they don´t. I am a huge fan of Apple but cannot run a business with phones that cannot be upgraded for the fear of loosing battery life which would mean loosing clients which would mean loosing my lively hood.
Full phone restore was done too.
    Still not HAPPY
Sorry, as already stated your using a 3rd party accessory take it up with mophie.
I have no issue with my mophie after updating to 7.1.1 - so your theory is flawed.
My battery life can last up to a day and a 1/2 - I only bought the mophie as a backup battery and because it is bulky and can protect my phone in case I drop it.

  • Signature field NOT working since upgrade to Adobe Pro X

    Hi Forum,
Form stop working since upgraded to Pro X (ver 10) in Adobe.  Getting this message:
    IntegriSign
This plug-in is intended for validating signatuers signed using earlier versions of Acrobat.  To sign using this version of Acrobat use "IntegriSign to Acrobat 9.0 and later" handler
I have changed settings in Adobe Pro X to the above but still get the same message.
Do anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks,

  • Smart Actions not working properly after software update

My Razr updated 2 days ago and since then my Smart Actions are not working properly.
I have my Work action set to turn the volume down when I'm at a certain GPS.  It shows that "Work" is active, but doesn't turn the volume down.
Also, there are times (since I've owned the phone) that it will not connect to the network after coming off a Wifi Connection without rebooting the phone.  I took it into a Verizon store and they did a hard reset, and that fixed it for a time, but it started doing it again.
    Any help appreciated.

Hi mcclainkb, Let's make sure your phone works as you expect it to! Have you tried removing the Smart Action and setting it back up again?  Are your other GPS services working as normal?  After the hard reset performed in the store did you install all of the same application that you had before?
    Thank you,

  • Pcie_aspm control not working since upgrade to 2.6.39.1

    Hi
Since upgrading to 2.6.39.1 it seems no longer possible to control power saving of pcie devices by echoing (default|performance|powersave) to /sys/module/pcie_aspm/parameters/policy.
I am doing this as root, obviously.  The file is still there and can be read, root also has read and write permission, yet it seems I can no longer switch power levels by echoing like I used to.
Has this been somehow disabled, or have the acceptable values been changed to something other than (default|performance|powersave)?
    Thanks

OK. This same problem occurs on three different machines.
Before upgrading to 2.6.39.1 I can change the value of /sys/module/pcie_aspm/parameters/policy, after upgrading I cannot - I just get "bash: echo: write error: Operation not permitted"
A look in /var/log/kernel.log finds these entries for pcie_aspm

But there is no change here between today, when I upgraded and the problem began, and a few days ago when everything was working well.
I also found this in the changelog for 2.6.39 with regard to pcie aspm.  But it's not clear, at least to me, if this might have any bearing on my issue.  I would appreciate more knowledgeable eyes taking a quick look.
    commit bbfa306a1e5d9618231aa0de3d52a8eb1219d0c3

PCI: Changing ASPM policy, via /sys, to POWERSAVE could cause NMIs
v3 -> v2: Modified the text that describes the problem
    v2 -> v1: Returned -EPERM
    v1 : http://marc.info/?l=linux-pci&m=130013194803727&w=2
For servers whose hardware cannot handle ASPM the BIOS ought to set the
    FADT bit shown below:
In Sec 5.2.9.3 (IA-PC Boot Arch. Flags) of ACPI4.0a Specification, please
    see Table 5-11:
PCIe ASPM Controls: If set, indicates to OSPM that it must not enable
OPSM ASPM control on this platform.
However there are shipping servers whose BIOS did not set this bit. (An
example is the HP ProLiant DL385 G6. A Maintenance BIOS will fix that).
For such servers even if a call is made via pci_no_aspm(), based on _OSC
support in the BIOS, it may be too late because the ASPM code may have
already allocated and filled its "link_list".
So if a user sets the ASPM "policy" to "powersave" via /sys then
pcie_aspm_set_policy() will run through the "link_list" and re-configure
ASPM policy on devices that advertise ASPM L0s/L1 capability:
    # echo powersave > /sys/module/pcie_aspm/parameters/policy
    # cat /sys/module/pcie_aspm/parameters/policy
    default performance [powersave]
That can cause NMIs since the hardware doesn't play well with ASPM:
[ 1651.906015] NMI: PCI system error (SERR) for reason b1 on CPU 0.
[ 1651.906015] Dazed and confused, but trying to continue
Ideally, the BIOS should have set that FADT bit in the first place but we
could be more robust - especially given the fact that Windows doesn't
cause NMIs in the above scenario.
There should be a sanity check to not allow a user to modify ASPM policy
    when aspm_disabled is set.

PCI: PCIe links may not get configured for ASPM under POWERSAVE mode
    v3 -> v2: Moved ASPM enabling logic to pci_set_power_state()

The assumption made in commit 41cd766b065970ff6f6c89dd1cf55fa706c84a3d
(PCI: Don't enable aspm before drivers have had a chance to veto it) that
pci_enable_device() will result in re-configuring ASPM when aspm_policy is
POWERSAVE is no longer valid. This is due to commit
97c145f7c87453cec90e91238fba5fe2c1561b32 (PCI: read current power state
at enable time) which resets dev->current_state to D0. Due to this the
call to pcie_aspm_pm_state_change() is never made. Note the equality check
    (below) that returns early:
    ./drivers/pci/pci.c: pci_raw_set_pci_power_state()
    546 /* Check if we're already there */
    547 if (dev->current_state == state)
    548 return 0;
Therefore OSPM never configures the PCIe links for ASPM to turn them "on".
Fix it by configuring ASPM from the pci_enable_device() code path. This
also allows a driver such as the e1000e networking driver a chance to
disable ASPM (L0s, L1), if need be, prior to enabling the device. A
driver may perform this action if the device is known to mis-behave
    wrt ASPM.

PCI/ACPI: Report ASPM support to BIOS if not disabled from command line
We need to distinguish the situation in which ASPM support is
disabled from the command line or through .config from the situation
in which it is disabled, because the hardware or BIOS can't handle
it. In the former case we should not report ASPM support to the BIOS
through ACPI _OSC, but in the latter case we should do that.
Introduce pcie_aspm_support_enabled() that can be used by
acpi_pci_root_add() to determine whether or not it should report ASPM
support to the BIOS through _OSC.

  • System sounds do not work since upgrade to ML 10.8/10.8.1

Hello.  Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, I have the persistent problem of my system sounds not working, after my laptop sleeps.  Fresh after a restart, they will work..then, after screen saver or sleep, they will not.
    Here's what doesn't sound:
    - Apple mail sounds (sending, receiving)
    - alert sounds
    - Sys Pref -> Sound -> any/all sound effect selection
    - screen capture click
    Here's what always works fine:
    - the pop-pop-pop sound when I increase/decrease the volume
    - iTunes
    - any sound from audio/visual embedded in browsers
    - sound from all 3rd party apps
    Internal speakers are selected
No problem throwing out sound to airplay, etc.
No problem with non-system non-Mail sounds
All sounds work fine after a restart...but after a sleep or a screen saver, they will cease working until the next restart.
MacBook Air, 10.8.1 (also was noticed under 10.8)
    1.7 GHz, 4 GB
I do see posts where people are experiencing the same, but no real solutions.  I have found & trashed the prefs file (from other posting solution) but that did not solve this persistent issue.  The sounds always DO work fresh after restart...just after sleeping, they do not.  Thank you  :-)

Yeah, just to keep everyone breathlessly updated: there has been no fix for me.
Amusingly (mostly not..) on the plane yesterday, when I plugged in my headphones, I was greeted with about 3 weeks' worth of Sent Mail and Alert tones.   Good times.
The fix involving Audio MIDI Setup and momentarily changing the internal speakers integer dropdown list used to occasionally work for me...but lately it has not. I'm just making do with no mail sounds, like a chump.  How I wish GrowlMail worked with 10.8 because I could get my sounds that way.

  • Wifi syncing not working since upgrading to iOS 6

Has anyone had an issue with and found a solution to wifi syncing after upgrading to iOS 6?  I have not been able to get either my iPhone 4 or 3d gen iPad to sync since upgrading last week.  I have the latest version of iTunes. I've tried disabling wifi syncing and the closing/restarting iTunes.  I've tried turning my iMac's wifi off and on.  The devices show, but will not automatically wifi sync.
    Thanks in advance!

I have a variation on that problem.  I upgraded my iPhone 4s and my new iPad to iOS6.  No problems synching the new iPad to iTunes wirelessly.  My iPhone will not sync wirelessly unless I turn it off, then on again.  However, if the phone goes out of wireless range, then returns, it will no longer sync wirelessly to iTunes.  Otherwise, the wireless connection appears to be working, e.g., I can connect to the internet.

  • Gmail push not working since upgrading to 4.0

I have not been able to get my email to push since upgrading to 4.0. I have a 3GS and it worked great until the upgrade. Still have it set to push. Tried deleting itunes completely and then restore of iphone. Still no go. Please help.

I have this problem also. It's really persistent and quite annoying. My Mail is silent like a rock on my iPhone 3gs; it's not pushing email notifications at all. To get new emails, I have to open Mail repeatedly, which defies the very definition of "notification" and "push" I really dislike the 4.0 update. I wish I never upgraded to it because everything was perfectly fine prior to the upgrade...

  • Nike+ ipod not working since upgrading to ios5

I used to link my phone to the Matrix machines which are Nike+ iPod compliant. It used to be fine, I used to run, the runs were never displayed as historic data on the phone but when I synced my phone with iTunes it used to update the website. This worked wheter I used the treadmill/ cycling machine etc.
Since upgrading to iOS5, nothing has synced with the Nike website. After my run a message comes up saying "Workout Completed. You can send your workouts to the Nke+ website in Settings". Am not sure why or how to get this working again.
    Any help would be appriciated.

Sorry ignore this. I just went into Settings, went to the Nike+iPod section then at the botom there was an option to send workouts. I had pressed this before but it didn't work. It did today.
Difference today is that I'm trying from home with WiFi. Who knows, just glad its working!

  • Bluetooth and Isight not working since upgrade to Mountain Lion

    Hello,
    I have a mid-2010 MBP running OSX 10.8.2.
Ever since upgrading to Mountain Lion, My bluetooth and iSight both have stopped working.  I have tried the clear the SMC numerous times. Mostly it does not have any effect. However, a couple of times, it has restored service to the iSight and the bluetooth, but as soon as I reboot the machine they are back to being disabled. Sometimes they become available without my resetting the SMC and for seemingly no reason. I have also replaced a couple of different kext files: Apple_iSight.kext and AppleUsbVideoSupport.kext with known good ones. I also Verified and Repaired on the disk. In this case, permissions issues were detected and repaired, but without fixing my original problems.
I would like desperately to resolve this without buying a new disk and doing a fresh install of OSX Lion. I would definitely NOT go back to Moutain Lion in this scenario. But I don't know what do next. I don't see many posts on this subject and those I have seen do not offer much hope. I know I am not the only one suffering with this, but I don't think Apple is addressing the problems, because they may not be pervasive enough right now.
If anyone has found a way to resolve this permanently, please share with me. I would like to roll back to Lion, but can't do that either.
    Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks,
    Brad.
    <Edited by Host>

This is likely a conflict with some 3-rd party s/w you have on the MBP but not the other two computers. Have a look in here
 > System Preferences.. Users & Groups | Login Items
Is there something in here that's not in the same list on the other Macs? If so, try removing it and restarting your computer. If that solves the problem, try contacting the developer to see if there's an update.
If that doesn't solve the problem, go through your other 3rd party apps and look for updates on all of them. One of them is stopping your mouse from working properly.
