Smartforms.generating fm

Hi experts,
I am getting error when fm SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME is executing.....i am getting error as
"Error during generation of form ZQM_HANDSLIP".....it is working properly in devlopment,but in production i am getting this error.

Hi naveen,
Here some times when we are migrating the pgm and form from DEV server to QA and then Production. in case Transport req is not migrated properly means. we will get these type of problems.
so my suggession is again u store the pgm and form with ACTIVE version in another new TR and migrated to production. u will get form genaration.

    my smartforms generate multiple emails based on the widely used code as shown below.
The emails are successfully being sent to different locations, but the problem is the first PDF file is opening, but the others followed by it are not opening. It's giving an error ' File damaged and cannot be opened!'

Reduce smartform generated PDF size

Hi,
How to reduce the smartform generated PDF size. I have tried removing few tables,windows, logo(size 10KB) etc.. but the size didnt vary much. I am using new Font 'CorpoS' in my smartstyle and using PT language (has special characters).
Current size of my PDF is 286KB and i want it to be 20-50KB.
Please give me valuable suggestions on how to reduce the size.

if u getting right print preview means it should print.
Remove the

Statements and execute u will find the difference.
if u r maintaining sy-subrc <> 0.
there is problem in smart form function module calling.. or smart form maintainance plz check that. or u may not activate the smart form correctly.

Smartform generates large file attachment

Hello Everybody,
I am having the following issue... I have created a Smartform (one page) and when I email it as a PDF attachment the size of the e-mail is over 400K, which in our case generates and issue because of the number of e-mails that we are sending.
Is there any way to decrease the size of the PDF file that is being generated from Smartforms?

Thanks for the quick reply. I am sending using a custom "Z" program that calls Smartform function module. I have tried to remove a bitmap and shaded areas from the form - did not make any difference. Can you ZIP attachment programatically in ABAP?

Smartforms generating in same spool.

Hi ,
I'm generating the smarforms from my driver program with a loop. i.e. calling the function module more than one times. Right now this is my requirement. Now my question is whenever the output is coming it's coming in same spool. If i delete the spool then it's ok.
In the driver program how can i solve the problem. I need to generate different spool whenever i will run the smartforms.\

To Create New Spool Requests for Smartform in the same Program , Use OUTPUT_OPTIONS in Smartform FM Export Parameter.
Set the Value of TDNEWID as 'X' and Pass this Parameter into FM.
Like the Below Code.

Smartform generating more than one page while printing

Good evening everyone.
I have created a smartform and now I am trying to print it. I have executed RSTXPDFT4 program in SE38 and entered the spool number and saved my smartform. But now my smartform is having more number of pages even though in print preview there is only one page. The same page is repeating again and again. Whats might be the problem? Please help.

As I said before when executing RSTXPDFT4 and trying to save the smartform to my system then it is showing many pages and that too the first page is not at all the output of my smartform and the rest are my smartform output which is repeating. I don't know from where it has come. I think there is some problem in my smartform itself.
But if I go into SP01 then it is showing only one page that too the first page which is not my smartform output.

How to change the name of function module ,generated by SMARTFORMS

As you all know, SMARTFORMS generates one function module.
The default name is somewhat like    /1BCDWB/SF00000099
instead of, i want to give some specific user defined name.

Call Function not Generating Function Module for Smartform

Hi Gurus,
We have a work copy print program use to print deliveries (smartforms). This program works fine in Production but right now we are doing some testing and I found out that when we run this program in QUALITY environtment, it shortdumps with error saying "Function Module Not Found"
Basically when it gets to the Function Module "SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME", it could not generate any function module for the form it Sy-Subrc = 2 Exception meaning NO_FUNCTION_MODULE.
The problem is this only happens in our QUALITY environment.I compare the function module in the 2 systems, there was not diff as this is a Standard SAP module. I passed diff smartforms we have in QUALITY through the FM and it will not generating any FM for any of them. So this is not an error from the smartforms, bcos all the same smartforms generates FM in Prod.
So what I did next is to Debug the FM "SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME" in the 2 systems to see where the diff is coming from. I noticed 2 views that the FM is using, they are STXFADM and D010SINF . So on the Production system, STXFADM-LASTDATE and D010SINF-UDAT fields are the same value, so it generates the FM. On the QUALITY systems, the values are different hence it skips the code to generate the FM.

While comes to dynamic FM giving the error as:
Incorrect parameter with CALL FUNCTION.
When calling a function module, one of the parmaeters was not
specified.
Error in ABAP application program.

May be population of your exporting parameter for smartform is wrong(l_uri). it is of type LCHR(data domain). Below is the document for LCHR data type population. Please check that.
LCHR:
Any character string with at least 256 characters. Fields of this type must be at the end for transparent tables and have a preceding length field of type INT2. For an INSERT or UPDATE in ABAP programs, this length field must be filled with the length actually required. Fields of this type cannot be used in the WHERE condition of a SELECT statement.

Try this. A simple sample Smart Form.
SAP Smartforms can be used for creating and maintaining forms for mass printing in SAP Systems. The output medium for Smartforms support printer, fax, e-mail, or the Internet (by using the generated XML output).
According to SAP, you need neither have any programming knowledge nor use a Script language to adapt standard forms. However, basic ABAP programming skills are required only in special cases (for example, to call a function module you created or for complex and extensive conditions).
1. Create a new smartforms

2. Define looping process for internal table
Pages and windows
First Page -> Header Window (Cursor at First Page then click Edit -> Node -> Create)
Here, you can specify your title and page numbering

SMARTFORMS GENERATION: (calling internal table fields)
 Open a smartform using the tcode smartforms.
 Usually form attributes shows admn data.
 In the form interface declare import/export parameters if any. Else declare the tables in tables tab button.
 In the windows and pages expand and create a table. It automatically generates header, main area and footer for the table.
 In data tab button in the table we usually declare a work area to bring the data from se38. Like: ktab into wa. ( The purpose of declaring the wa is , to get the data of the ktab in to header from the body area of the internal table).
 And in the tablepainter pushbutton in table we can have any no of line types. Depending on the requirement. ( for ex: If we want to devide a row in to 4 columns, we can devide it as 4,4,4,4cm as line type 1, And usually for the footer we dont need no of columns, So, we declare it as one column with 16cm measure with the name line type 2.). We can use these line types in the tables.
 In the header right click>>create>>tableline. It asks for line type. Select one line type which is appropriate.
 Like same create a row2 in main area using right click. If we select the line type 1, it automatically generates 4 cells. We can create text in each cell as per requirement.
 We can generate general attributes using general attributes tab button in the text. Or in the other way. We can switch on the field list on/off button from the application tool bar. It displays all the attributes in the left down corner of the screen. We can drag and drop the required fields in the general attributes tab button of the text.
 We continue the same procedure for all the texts. The texts should be displayed in the gray color. Then only it can collects the data from the abap editor fields.
 If it wont turns gray, we can check the fields in the editor by changing it to the line editor. The best thing is to drag the fields from the list, rather than declaring like &wa-matnr&
 In the footer also we create a line type and in that table line we create text.

In the method I we are calling the amartform dynamically using the function module 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'.
Here we are exporting form name and importing fm_name.
So we need to declare the variable fm_name as

We can have the type of the fm_name in the function module 'SSF_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME' (in the export tab button).
Since we are passin the name of the Function module generated by the smart form in to the fm_name variable. We run the function module with the name fm_name, but not the FM generated by the smartform(like /1BCDWB/SF00000199)¬¬¬¬¬¬.
In the method II we directly call the smartform generated function module (i.e, /1BCDWB/SF00000199).
But the method I is recommended. In the method I, The fm_name is a variable we dont put it in the quotes while calling.
In the both methods we declare the internal table using the like option, but not begin of. end of. And in select statement we select *, But not individual fields.

Error Determining Smartform - Smartform working in Development but not in Q

Hello all,
I'm currenlty working on a smartform in a development box and it is working as expected after doing the testing in that box but after transporting the change to Q, the new changes are not displayed in the smartform. I already revised the changes and both smartforms are the same in both boxes, it was activated and the code is the same but for some reason the smartform is not displaying the new and modified changes. Does anyone have received a similar error before? Can anyone help me in this issue?

There can be only 2 possibilities.
1. Check you Form interface/Tables...whether all the tables, structures are there as in development, if not transport the missing structures and tables.
2. There might be a issue with function module "DO NOT HARD CODE THE SMARTFORM GENERATED FUNCTION MODULE"
