I'm working on standard Smartform 'EBPP_DEBIT_CREDIT_MEMO'(biller Notification) calling in a report.In report smartform generating function module successfully(/1BCDWB/SF00000095).
problem accuring while calling the generating function module.
if anything wrong please help me.

Thank You for ur replay.
before the dynamic function module excution sy-subrc is '0'
While comes to dynamic FM giving the error as:
Incorrect parameter with CALL FUNCTION.
When calling a function module, one of the parmaeters was not
specified.
Error in ABAP application program.
This is standard smartform , u check the code once and suggest me.

May be population of your exporting parameter for smartform is wrong(l_uri). it is of type LCHR(data domain). Below is the document for LCHR data type population. Please check that.
LCHR:
Any character string with at least 256 characters. Fields of this type must be at the end for transparent tables and have a preceding length field of type INT2. For an INSERT or UPDATE in ABAP programs, this length field must be filled with the length actually required. Fields of this type cannot be used in the WHERE condition of a SELECT statement.

Startrfc: Error message after calling a FM/report

Hello Experts,
I am working on a solution to call a RFC function module from outside of SAP via startrfc. This FM opens a report displaying standard report output.
The call via startrfc works as expected. The sapgui opens. As long as the report is open the startrfc command console hangs. When I close the SAPGUI window with the report, logoff popup is displayed. But in the console I got an error message:
RFC Call/Exception: SYSTEM_FAILURE
Group Error group 104
Key RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
Message connection closed without message <CM_NO_DATA_RECEIVED>
Does anybody kow what causes this behavior? And further on: can I change the behavior that the startrfc call blocks the console? Why does it not return immediatly?
Any hints are welcome?

Yes, we are using RAS. Our setup is BOE XI 3.1 on Linux. We are using the RAS/CrystalReportViewer java API to execute/view the reports from a JBoss server also running on Linux.
We did find a CRConfig on the BOE server and it did contain a <SocketTimeout>60000</SocketTimeout> entity. We modified it to 600000 and restarted the BOE service. Unfortunately, we still the same problem ("Failed to retrieve data from the database; Error in File {B608A22A-1E54-11E0-ABFC-000E0CB8A71E}.rpt: Failed to retrieve data from the database").
We thought that when using the CrystalReportViewer java API, rendering is done "locally" (that is, on our web server). In that case, shouldn't we have a CRConfig.xml on our web server? We're seeing conflicting information about this on the forum. If we do need CRConfig.xml on our web server, then should we copy it from the one on the BOE, and where should we put it?

Displaying report error back to calling form

Hi
We are running 10g reports and forms on Red Hat.
The forms are run using a run_report_object command to generate pdf output and then displayed using web.show_document. The parameters are entered into a form and sometimes are validated and sometimes not.
On the whole it all works well. However, if a bad parameter is passed to a report, the report will not run and an error will be held in the report server for that report. Is there an easy way to programmatically detect in forms, that the report has errored and then to bring that error message back and display it in the form?

I am trying to schedule one report in BI Publisher.
After Clicking Submit Button while scheduling report,i get following error:

i know the issue,i can give quick fix, but in-order to make sure you don't get another glitch like this.
I would recommend, you to install the scheduler in another schema or another db.
Re-installing the scheduler schema tables will fix this.

Internal Error occurred while calling the ProcessDPCommands API

We have installed Business Objects XI with MySQL. We are getting following error when we click on view query on the WEBI Reports
" Internal Error occurred while calling the ProcessDPCommands API Error WIS 30270".
When we change the CMS database to ORACLE everything works fine it looks like some issues when CMS database is MYSQL
Please hep to fix this problem

I tried the way suggested by Anil in the above link as well today, but still am getting the same error while openning the pdf .
Dont know why it shows error that either the file is not a supported file type or because the file is damaged.
Please suggest way to solve this error or some other way of calling xml report from OAF page.

We get above mentioned error message at any point in WebI Rich Client.
DataSource: Teradata 12.0 (Local machine)
BO XI 3.1 Client installed on local machine
Universe (Secured connection)
WebI : desiging and creating in Standlone mode
WebI client version : 12.1.0.882
Many times above written error is thrown 2-3 times even when we click on OK button and lastly followed by new error message:-
Unable to get the first page of the current report - Web Intelligence will switch to structure view (WIJ 20003).
Flow: We create report based on locally saved universe. There are couple of scenarios for which error comes
1) After successfully saving the report, reopen and refresh causes this error (1st error and 2nd)
2) Droping a properly written variable on measure column, if done Ctrl + Z, report works sometimes (both or 2nd error message)
3) Draging out the mesaure or dimension from report (only 2nd error)
Report is simple and no other stuff except the cross tab table
Even if we start with simply dropping the dimension and measures on report, 2nd error comes at any time.
What we noticed is that if we do all desiging in structure mode and then run instead of in result mode, reports works for more time.

I am facing a wierd issue while opening/refreshing/broadcasting a webi report.
The error message scrnshot:
This error is not throughout the reports, but for specific reports only, when checked the Bex query definition it works fine, but gives error for Webi reports.
Recently we had upgrade of BO 4.0 SP7 patch 9.
The reports are directly built on Bex queries, Bex queries contains simple Structures and few CKF's.
Would be thankful for any help recieved in resolving the above issue.

Scenario 1:
Error occurs when try to refresh a migrated Web Intelligence report in InfoView, after entering a date or dates for prompts.
Suggested Solution:
Modify problematic report in Webi.
Change the prompt definition to be a constant, run the report in Webi, and save it.
Change the prompt definition back to prompt with required date definition. Make sure you are using the correct date format! (The report prompt should tell you what the format is supposed to be.) Re-run the report in Webi, and save it.
Re-open the report in InfoView and refresh.
Scenario 2: Error occurs when trying to edit the properties of a Webi report containing merged dimensions.
Suggested Solution:
Remove the merged dimensions and then re-establish them.
Scenario 3: Error occurs when the InfoView report has been open and idle for a long time.
Suggested Solution:
This error can be an indication of a time-out, based on the server’s settings. Make sure you save your work often. You will need to close and re-open the report when you get this error, and you may have lost any unsaved changes.

Hi,
While refreshing the WEBI Reports would recommend you check the WEBI PROCESSING Server's last changed date from CMC--> Servers.
Check when you are refreshing the reports, do you see the time stamp changed of WEBI PROCESSING servers?
Do you keep getting this error messages for all WEBI reports? Can you re-produce this with simple e-fashion reports as well?
After that go to the node where WEBI PROCESSING servers installed and check on the event viewer details if you see any relevant error messages.

Error while publishing BI 7.0 report in SAP EP..

I want to publish BI 7.0 report in sap ep. I have done SSO configured between SAP EP and SAP BI.
When I go to content admin and crerate iview for BI i followed this step:
iview template>BEx Web Application iView (SAP Netwever 7.0 Format)> there I have given iview/ID name say ( Test_BI )--->System (in this only 1 option is coming that is only SAP_LocalSystem option is coming, what ever system objects i created in system admin nothing is coming here, so i choose this ooption only and in option BEx Web Application Query string i put this: TEMPLATE=Z_0MATERIAL_TEST where Z_0MATERIAL_TEST is the quesry string --> next and finish)
after doing this when i go to the iview and do preview i am getting error:

Than i opened that iview in the content admin and in the iview object property i changed that system property from SAP_LocalSystem to SAP_BI (SAP_BI is the system object i created fro BI and portal SSO) and again tested but even now also same error .
Please let me know why i m not able to publish that BI report in my portal.

Error in "Web Preview" mode in Reports version 7.2.1

I get the following error in "Web Preview" mode in Reports. I am trying to select a member from dimension called "Entity" which has User POV property.
I also have other dimensions in the report with User POV but they all are working fine. I get the error only when trying to look up the above "Entity" dimension.
Any ideas?

Passing values to subreport in SSRS throwing an error - Data Retrieval failed for the report, please check the log for more details.

Hi,
I have the subreport calling from the main report. The subreport is based on MDX query agianst the SSAS cube. some dimensions in cube has values 0 and 1.
when I try to pass '0' to the sub report as the parameter value, it gives an error "Data Retrieval failed for the report, please check the log for more details".
Actually I am using table for storing these parameter values. In the main report I am calling this table (dataset) and passing these values to subreport.
so I have given like [0],[1] and this works fine. when I give only either [0] or [1] then it is throwing an error.
Could you please advise on this.

Based on the current description, I understand that there is no issue if you pass two values from main report to subreport, while the issue occurs when passing one value to subreport.
To narrow down the issue, I want to confirm whether the subreport can run if there is only [0] or [1] in the subreport. If so, it indicates the query statements exist error in the subreport. If it’s not the case, this shows the issue occurs during passing
values from main report to subreport. To make further analysis, please post the details of query statements of the subreport to the forum.

Error '9' when calling service 'SO_OBJECT_SEND'

We are implementing travel module. The scenario is when the employee raises a travel request, after approving the mail should be sent back to the employee. This feature is provided by the standard.
However in the SEND_MAIL step the WORKFLOW Container variable 'Employee.Trip.User.Id' is not set owing to which the mail step gives out error.
Can anyone please guide us on the probable cause of the error ?? Where does the object TRIP gets the value 'TRIP.USER.ID' ??
Is it any setting issue ??

Run report HRALXSYNC and you will solve this.
We have faced this issue many times and the solution we have applied is
1. This issue occurs on a step that is dialog where some agent needs to either approver or reject.
2. You should check the rule (Agent determination rule in that step).
Run that rule with the workflow data (use scenario with which you are getting error).
Run the rule individually and check if you are getting right result.
this error most of the time id due to the fact that the rule is not be able to determine next processor of the workitem.
Error 9 when calling service SO_OBJECT_SEND SWF_RUN535
to assure you can hardcode the user for test in the rule and run the workflow as that is the most effective analysis that will help you determine the cause.
I have never seen this error on a background step unless there is a mail step involved.
You need to run the report HRALXSYNC to synchronize HR objects which will surely solve this issue.
