SMS Package deals?

Are there any SMS package deals available on Skype, or is the only option to pay per message?

There are no SMS packages or subscriptions at this time.  The only option currently available is to pay for each SMS message sent from your Skype account with Skype Credit.  Maybe someone at Skype is listening to this forum, and investigates the possibility of including SMS messages in existing subscriptions - or creating additional subscriptions for SMS messaging.

  • Microsoft Office Error on Jabber deployment via SMS Package

Our customer is trying to rollout Cisco Jabber using Microsfot SMS Package. The first test of the package installation to a small test group each of the employees received the error in attached picture after launching and logging into Jabber.  It was assumed this was caused by Outlook being opened while the package was installing but we’ve tested the package on other workstations without Outlook being open and experience the same issue.

    Further to this
We ran the Cisco Jabber MSI manually on one of our XP machines with all Office products shut down and the error still occurs.  If you shut down and log into Jabber a second time the error goes away.
The customer would like the install to work without this error if possible

    Hi TechGirl,
The answer to your question is sometimes. What we offer for sale on BestBuy.com is most often reflective of what is for sale in a Best Buy® store, but is not required to be the same. I would contact a Best Buy® store to find out if they are still offering this package.
    Thanks for posting!

  • PACKAGE DEALS

In June 2011 I accepted a deal on broadband and calls, I was informed I would have option 1 and weekend calls for £9.50 per month, I would stress that that was the price quoted and NOT a £5 discount.  My December bill has arrived electronically and I have been charged £10.90 for my package, 15.90 less £5 discount, so much for believing a voice on the telephone.
I have also attempted to re-instate my paper bills as there is no financial benefit to paperless billing, and guess what! although we could activate paperless billing electronically, the option to 'opt out' is not available.

I renewed my contract in November, I think it must be in the terms and conditions somewhere about price rises when in contract but I can't find it.
It has been said on the forum that you can cancel within 10 days after being notified of price increases,
EDIT found this on a previous post.
It's in BT's Residential Standard Terms, paragraph 52:
"If we let you know about a change to the price or the terms and conditions of a service which is to your material disadvantage, you will not have to pay a charge if you decide to end that service early, unless the Tariff Guide says otherwise. However, once we have told you about such a change, using one of the methods detailed in paragraph 50, you must let us know within 10 days that you want to end that service by giving us the written notice set out in paragraph 21. Only the services that are directly affected by the changes we make can be ended without paying an early termination charge for that service and this agreement will continue to apply to any other services that are not affected by those changes." http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/dynamicmodules/pagecontentfooter/pageContentF...
Not a lot of use to you though now.

  • Are there any Apple package deals or grants available to universities?

I'm part of Indiana University's student government and we are trying to implement a tablet initiative for our school. Are there any special deals or grants available to universities regarding iPads? Any comments or help is much appreciated. Thanks!

But Apple has been known to offer all sorts of specifically negotiated deals with Universities - especially large schools with a large Apple footprint already on campus (in the form of student sales, or University corporate sales).  Some schools for example, have negotiated a special 3-year AppleCare program for computers sold through their campus Apple education store, offering a total of 4 years of coverage on Apple computers bought (so an incoming student would be covered for their whole degree program).  There have also been specials offered in some schools that might include some BTO options at the regular base-model shelf prices, again, if purchased by a student through the school's specific Apple education store.
If some school wanted to do a large implementation of iPads, they might be able to negotiate some deal to be offered in their school-specific education store that could include some significant offerings albeit not actual price discounts.  But the OP cannot negotiate on behalf of his school as he is not an officer of the University corporation - but he can always approach University officials with an idea he'd like them to pitch to the school's Apple reps.

  • Small business team package deal

    Hello
I work in a small business company with 6 designers. Currently we have 3 designers on a CC membership (just started on a complete special offer). I was wondering if there is a special "team deal" for 6 people. We mostly use Illustrator and Photoshop, and maybe one or two additional programs for 1 user only. Is it also possible to activate/deactivate some programs (as needed) and what would be the cost if are already paying for 6 memberships? I've tried to look on the website, but there was not detailed info beside 5 members get $10.00 on a special introductory offer.
    Thank you

  • Warning about package deals and what they include for how long!

I am completely livid with my recent interactions with customer service.  Besides the lack of knowledge and lack of care being obvious, they also seem to forget to disclose important details about the packages you are signing up for.  A few months back I called into customer service to seek a better, less expensive package.  Besides the fact that changing my package created a fiasco of no service for three days and 8 plus hours calling into customer service with each rep telling a different tale, I realized today that my premium channels (HBO and Starz) were missing.  Upon calling the rep told me that those channels were a 3 month promotion! What the F!!! Why didn't the customer service rep tell me this the day I signed up?  The premium channels being included was the reason why I took the 1 year package! I even asked again and again that day and repeated the package details back with a confirmation back from the rep that yes I get those channels!  THANKS A LOT FOR LEAVING OUT THE DETAIL THAT THEY ONLY LASTED 3 MONTHS!!! Worst customer service ever!!!!!

  • Netbeans 6.1 SMS NON-Brute force ability listen to multiple ports

First of all, my appologies for being a nubie coming from Mobile6. The company I slave at is migrating from MS Mobile to j2me!!! I am porting a code segment that listens to all incoming/outgoing SMS text messages and logs the messages into another java contact applet for our sales department. Our company policy(I cannot change) allows the sales department to use any/multiple SMS packages and install onto the device.
Based on my understanding of the (MessageConnection)Connector.open("sms://" foo); I must include a port address to listen in on. Is there a NON-brute forced methodogy to poll "active" ports the device is using to send/recieve SMS text message?

    db,
I was reading a blog by Bill Day [http://weblogs.java.net/blog/billday/archive/2004/02/midp_push_using.html]
regarding MIDP Push; A paragraph jumped at me, it was "...
Whichever network(s) you're application will be using, you need to find out what protocols they allow inbound to handsets. At the least, most GSM carriers will allow SMS (since they use SMS for short text messaging). Assuming your network does support SMS, from the server part of your application you would need to generate an SMS message directed to the port you bound your MIDlet to in its static or dynamic push registry settings. Assuming the network passes the SMS as expected, your MIDlet should be awakened when the SMS arrives in the handset..."
Either I'm not understanding your reponse, the info in this blog is incorrect or I must include a port address as part of the open method of the Connector. Still confused.

  • Best practice for client migration from SMS 2003 to SCCM 2012 R2?

Can anyone advise what the most recommended method is for migrating SMS 2003 clients (Windows 7) to SCCM 2012 R2?
    Options are:
    1. SMS package to deploy ccmclean.exe to uninstall SMS 2003 client. Deploy SCCM 2012 R2 client via SCCM console push.
    2. Simply push SCCM client from console installing over existing SMS 2003 client.
I am finding some folks saying this is ok to do but others saying no it is not supported by Microsoft. Even if it appears to work I do not want to do it if it is not supported by Microsoft. Can anyone provide a definitive answer?
    3. Use a logon script or Group Policy preference to detect the SMS client and delete it using CCMclean and then install the SCCM client.
    Appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

    Hi,
    >>I am finding some folks saying this is ok to do but others saying no it is not supported by Microsoft. Even if it appears to work I do not want to do it if it is not supported by Microsoft. Can anyone provide a definitive answer?
I haven't seen any official document records the option 2 method. There is only upgrading from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 directly.
I think you could use a logon script or Group Policy preference to detect the SMS client and delete it using CCMclean.exe. Then use SCCM 2012 to discover these computers and push clients to them.

  • Packages and packages

    Hi
I was rereading Martin's principles of package architecture and was wondering how the concept of package in this context relates to the concept of a Java package
after thinking a bit, I got the feeling these two concepts have nothing to do with each other
I feel that Java packages deal with namespace and access control, while OO packages (the components of your program's binaries) would be, in the Java world, jar files containing classes from different packages (and not especially all classes from these (Java) packages), and constructed as much as possible in order to follow these supposedly good OO principles
Am I right ? partially ? totally ? totally not ? I need some insight on this

Kind of. But what would stop me to define the
namespace on a per-component base? I used structures
    like com.mycompany.myapp.database (data tier),
    com.mycompany.myapp.web (presentation tier) and the
likes. You could put classes (or packages) belonging
to a certain subsystem into a package dedicated to it.I did it for a long time too, traditionaly with webapps :
    be.mycompany.myapp
    dataaccess
    business
    web
and that worked fine... but that's not my concern
actually, what concerns me is the business package itself... I'm writing a very simple peer2peer file sharing tool for both fun & education, and the packaging becomes trickier, since the app is naturally distributed :
    * file sharing client package
    * user manager client package
    * server package (handles login requests & user management requests)
thing is, I reuse many classes among these three "kinds of endpoint", which makes me think about properly dividing my app into small reusable, well-organised components... when java packages come into play, things are getting less clear as of how I should do...
how do you people do when it comes to structuring (packages AND deliverables of) your business layer ?

  • General advice on using SCCM (SMS) to deploy SAPGUI

I was curious for anyone's opinion on the use of Microsoft's SCCM tool for deploying SAPGUI.  At our organization, I am hoping to take advantage of this capability so that the SAP technical team is not "too" involved in the day-to-day deployment activities.
    Some specific questions:
    1. The only way to do this is to create an SAP installation server so that you can then create the single installation package (and then hand it over to SCCM)?
    2. Assuming I am correct on #1, to patch the GUI, youu2019d have to patch the installation server and create a new installation package and let SCCM advertise it out (i.e. not make use of any of the SAP techniques (e.g. the new automatic workstation updated).
    3. How have you managed the distribution/update of files (saplogon to the u2018newu2019 location, services, etc) on the PCs --- via the package scripting capability of the SAP installer (OSS 1035560)?  I had the idea to request this capability of the SCCM team as well!
    Thanks for any input!

We have multiple agencies which have thier own method of deploying out to their end users.  Mostly through SMS (or whatever it is called now a days) but that is up to the agencies requirements.
Here I will elaborate on your questions and divulge a little of our situation.
1 - Correct.  Create a Installation server and build the package.  From that package it can be put into a SMS package and deployed. (we use this method)
2 - Yes and also.  Yes, you can update the Installation server and re-create your package with the updated patch included.  I believe you would also need to remove the SAP GUI to re-install the new with the updated information.  My advice would be to  utilize SMS to push just the patch from SAP to your end users which will update the existing machines with the already installed SAP GUI. (We use this method)
3 - We utilize the variable SAPLOGON_INI_FILE which you can point the machine to an area of your choice to where your saplogon.ini file is located.
    Our use:
We use both the installation server as well as Wise Studio for our package.  Installation server creates the SAP GUI deployment.  Wise Studio comes in and allows us to set variables and allows us to have a predetermined INI laid on the machine. (We have low speed connections as well as disability users and General users etc.  Depending on switches used during the push install or manually, it will drop a copy of the INI as requested which is built into the Wise "wrapper" we created)  It also allows us to place SSO information and files, registry info, additional INI's which are specific to our landscape.  The Wise installation then calls the SAP GUI installer created from the Installation server.  At the end of the GUI install, it places the predetermined INI file over the one created at the point of install.  (Keep in mind this is just a brief overview)
I am sure there are other possibilities but these are just from our experiences here.  I would have to let others speak to how they perform such operations.
