PACKAGE DEALS

In June 2011 I accepted a deal on broadband and calls, I was informed I would have option 1 and weekend calls for £9.50 per month, I would stress that that was the price quoted and NOT a £5 discount.  My December bill has arrived electronically and I have been charged £10.90 for my package, 15.90 less £5 discount, so much for believing a voice on the telephone.
I have also attempted to re-instate my paper bills as there is no financial benefit to paperless billing, and guess what! although we could activate paperless billing electronically, the option to 'opt out' is not available.

I renewed my contract in November, I think it must be in the terms and conditions somewhere about price rises when in contract but I can't find it.
It has been said on the forum that you can cancel within 10 days after being notified of price increases,

It's in BT's Residential Standard Terms, paragraph 52:
"If we let you know about a change to the price or the terms and conditions of a service which is to your material disadvantage, you will not have to pay a charge if you decide to end that service early, unless the Tariff Guide says otherwise. However, once we have told you about such a change, using one of the methods detailed in paragraph 50, you must let us know within 10 days that you want to end that service by giving us the written notice set out in paragraph 21.     The answer to your question is sometimes. What we offer for sale on BestBuy.com is most often reflective of what is for sale in a Best Buy® store, but is not required to be the same. I would contact a Best Buy® store to find out if they are still offering this package.

    There are no SMS packages or subscriptions at this time.  The only option currently available is to pay for each SMS message sent from your Skype account with Skype Credit.  Maybe someone at Skype is listening to this forum, and investigates the possibility of including SMS messages in existing subscriptions - or creating additional subscriptions for SMS messaging.

    I'm part of Indiana University's student government and we are trying to implement a tablet initiative for our school. Are there any special deals or grants available to universities regarding iPads? Any comments or help is much appreciated. Thanks!

    But Apple has been known to offer all sorts of specifically negotiated deals with Universities - especially large schools with a large Apple footprint already on campus (in the form of student sales, or University corporate sales).  Some schools for example, have negotiated a special 3-year AppleCare program for computers sold through their campus Apple education store, offering a total of 4 years of coverage on Apple computers bought (so an incoming student would be covered for their whole degree program).  There have also been specials offered in some schools that might include some BTO options at the regular base-model shelf prices, again, if purchased by a student through the school's specific Apple education store.
    If some school wanted to do a large implementation of iPads, they might be able to negotiate some deal to be offered in their school-specific education store that could include some significant offerings albeit not actual price discounts.  But the OP cannot negotiate on behalf of his school as he is not an officer of the University corporation - but he can always approach University officials with an idea he'd like them to pitch to the school's Apple reps.

    I work in a small business company with 6 designers. Currently we have 3 designers on a CC membership (just started on a complete special offer). I was wondering if there is a special "team deal" for 6 people. We mostly use Illustrator and Photoshop, and maybe one or two additional programs for 1 user only. Is it also possible to activate/deactivate some programs (as needed) and what would be the cost if are already paying for 6 memberships? I've tried to look on the website, but there was not detailed info beside 5 members get $10.00 on a special introductory offer.

  • Warning about package deals and what they include for how long!

    I am completely livid with my recent interactions with customer service.  Besides the lack of knowledge and lack of care being obvious, they also seem to forget to disclose important details about the packages you are signing up for.  A few months back I called into customer service to seek a better, less expensive package.  Besides the fact that changing my package created a fiasco of no service for three days and 8 plus hours calling into customer service with each rep telling a different tale, I realized today that my premium channels (HBO and Starz) were missing.  Upon calling the rep told me that those channels were a 3 month promotion! What the F!!! Why didn't the customer service rep tell me this the day I signed up?  The premium channels being included was the reason why I took the 1 year package! I even asked again and again that day and repeated the package details back with a confirmation back from the rep that yes I get those channels!  THANKS A LOT FOR LEAVING OUT THE DETAIL THAT THEY ONLY LASTED 3 MONTHS!!! Worst customer service ever!!!!!

  • Sony TV/Home Theater/BluRay Package, Home Theater out of stock!?

    I stopped into best buy yesterday to purchase a 46" and a 52" XBR9, both with the home theater system (HT-SS360) and blueray player (BDP-S360) for the same price as the TV... Now both the store and online are out of stock on the Home Theater System so I cannot place the order for the package deal. Does anyone know when those Home Theater Systems will be in stock or how I can set this deal up?

    I was wondering the same thing. Do they give rain checks ? I was unable  to located anything in the sale circular stating "while supplies last"  ?
    FYI this package was also listed online  last week as being on sale to bad I didn't have the $$$ then..       both the z5100 and BR9's are out of stock on Long Island NY too.

    I was rereading Martin's principles of package architecture and was wondering how the concept of package in this context relates to the concept of a Java package
    after thinking a bit, I got the feeling these two concepts have nothing to do with each other
    I feel that Java packages deal with namespace and access control, while OO packages (the components of your program's binaries) would be, in the Java world, jar files containing classes from different packages (and not especially all classes from these (Java) packages), and constructed as much as possible in order to follow these supposedly good OO principles
    Am I right ? partially ? totally ? totally not ? I need some insight on this

    namespace on a per-component base? I used structures
    like com.mycompany.myapp.database (data tier),
    com.mycompany.myapp.web (presentation tier) and the
    likes. You could put classes (or packages) belonging
    to a certain subsystem into a package dedicated to it.I did it for a long time too, traditionaly with webapps :

    and that worked fine... but that's not my concern
    actually, what concerns me is the business package itself... I'm writing a very simple peer2peer file sharing tool for both fun & education, and the packaging becomes trickier, since the app is naturally distributed :
    * file sharing client package
    * user manager client package
    * server package (handles login requests & user management requests)
    thing is, I reuse many classes among these three "kinds of endpoint", which makes me think about properly dividing my app into small reusable, well-organised components... when java packages come into play, things are getting less clear as of how I should do...
    how do you people do when it comes to structuring (packages AND deliverables of) your business layer ?

  • How does iWeb read the Domain package?

    My MacBook is having stability problems. Along the way with its MANY crashes, it has lost its path to my iWeb domain.
    The Domain package in the Application Support folder has its contents intact, but upon opening iWeb, the sites are missing, and there is no import feature. I also get a dialog box reading "Can't open the file "~/Library/ApplicationSupport/iWeb/Domain.sites."
    Ideas?
    I am the sole teacher in our district using a blog instead of a newsletter to communicate with parents. I am also using another site to blog notes on professional readings being done for my master's degree. It is difficult to convince others to take the digital leap when the risk-takers fail!

    OP? I'm not a newbie, but neither am I a true geek...Pygmalion, I guess. Anyway, please help with the term.
    This happened before upgrading to 1.1.2, which I only just did today. I also tried dragging the domain to the trash, then allowed iweb to rebuild. It rebuilt a nothing file. I returned the old "full package deal" domain.
    Before iweb failed, MS Office apps began crashing, freezing on saves or attempts to print. Soon other apps were crashing on save. Then the iweb mystery occurred. All this since the last week in August when I got this MacBook for my classroom. Add to that the new third Mac Mini in that time period (the third is no longer turning on the display at all, but I'm out of fix-it time) and you're looking a a woman who is ready to become a luddite!
    I've kept all this under my hat at work, lest I provoke the real luddites. But that make's solutions finding (and venting) lonely. Hopefully someone here will have a brilliant solution...soon!
    Perhaps Apple should hire me as their quality assurance controller. If it passes my golden touch, their returns would be WAY down!

  • Downgrade package which provides some icon features in mate-desktop

    A couple of days ago a standard pacman update seriously messed my system. It updated the kernel and/or my nvidia drivers, but on reboot X wouldn't start properly because the nvidia driver module wouldn't load properly. After much playing about and googling, I enabled the testing repository to get access to the kernel headers that went with my new kernel. Unfortunately, this installed a shed load of 'testing' packages that I have been trying to downgrade ever since. It took me a *long* time get my 'mate' desktop working. I disabled testing, and used the 'downgrade' tool to downgrade using pacman's cache. Clearly there are packages I've missed.
    Here is a screenshot of my nautilus in MATE. As you see, several of the menu buttons have this 'icon missing' icon. Can anyone advise what package deals with these (I *think* I have downgraded gtk etc back to how they were before these problems, but to know avail...)

    When I ran
    sudo pacman -Syuu
    it generated a list of packages that includes nvidia stuff, which I've opted to leave alone. However, it did also say wxgtk which I returned to version in the repos. Here are the other packages it lists:

  • Trying to sign up for BT Package

    I signed up for a Phone, Broadband and TV package in early December. Phone line was activated as scheduled on 24 December.
    I then got a text from BT on 28 December asking me to ring 0800 731 0286 and provide my MAC so that they could progress my broadband order. On calling the number, I was then informed that they had no record of my broadband order (even though I'd just received a text about it!)
    I then spent the next hour being passed from one customer service rep to another, basically being told that I'd need to place a new order for broadband and TV and I was no longer entitled to the package deal I'd signed up for! Great way to spend my birthday, thanks BT!!
    Eventually, I was passed to a senior customer service rep called Rohit, who 'found' my original broadband and TV order. He said that the reason it wasn't showing was because the phone line had to be activated first before the broadband order could be placed. He assured me that I would receive a call from BT on 31 December to request my MAC. Unsurprisingly, I received no such call.
    I've now also received a bill for my first month's phone line rental - including charge for not using direct debit - despite the fact that when I bought the package I opted to pay the first year's line rental upfront.
    Essentially, I just want to get the package I signed up for, but the call centre seem unable to give me that, even though I have email confirmation from BT of the package I ordered.
    Can anyone from BT help me please?

  • Being Charged for Package I haven't got.

    The day after my broadband package ended I change to another provider (cheaper) yet on my bill of last week I've not only been charged for my broadband but also advanced charges.
    No-one, I repeat no-one at BT is understanding this (after repeated emails and letter)  and today I have had an email stating that as my package contract has ended they can do me a new package deal ........  I'm no longer with BT for broadband.
    What is so hard at contract ended, no contract - you are still charging me!!
