Snapshot deletes all exisiting HKLM values.

Zen 3.2 sp3
Netware 6.5 sp2 and
Netware 5.1 sp8
Workstation WinXP Sp2
Whenever I do an application snaphot these days, I have to very carefully
check the registry distribution of the app object that it creates.
All exisiting HKLM values are highlighted in the distribution with red
crosses.
If the app installation were allowed to be applied to a workstation, it
basically kills the system.dat.
We have had two networks, physically separated, but running athe same patch
level exhibit this problem.
Any ideas?

You may want to keep your eye out for ZFD8 Betas rolling around soon.
It requires no tie-ins to other products - even E-Dir. It should be a
fantastic product.
Even with ZFD7, it is quite easy to install in Windows Only shops.
Folks who know and have used ZEN will quickly realize that most competing
products are not really competivie due to lack of breadth.
I had one 10,000+ user client make the MS switch with the on-boarding of a
new CIO, but they kept ZEN and only ZEN because despite an exhaustive search
they could not find competing software to do what ZEN could do. In the end,
they were very very pleased with how well it rolled into their Windows
environment and the ZEN admins were very pleased with all of the new
features that ZFD7 brought them.

  • How do I delete a prior month(s) or entire year(s) in iCal on my iMac (using version 4.0.4 (1395.7)?  Want to delete all months in 2009

    I checked what was previous asked in deleting months from iCal; however, that question pertained to removing events from a month and not necessarily deleting the entire month.  I have three years of calendars (January - December x three) in my iCal and want to delete all months for 2009 and 2010; however, I can't seem to find a way to delete.  I checked preferences/advanced under iCal but no mention of deleting previous months/years.

    Greetings Judith,
    Before making any attempts at deleting calendar data, backup what you have just in case:
    Click on each calendar on the left hand side of iCal one at a time highlighting it's name and then going to File Export > Export and saving the resulting calendar file to a logical location for safekeeping.
    iCal has an automated function located in iCal > Preferences > Advanced > Delete events "X" days after they have passed.  By typing in a value for days you can tell iCal to delete all events before that time frame.
    Example:
    Today is 4-16-2012.
    If I wanted to delete all events prior to 1 year ago (4-16-2011) I would type in "365" for the number of days.
    Once you type in the number of days you want kept in iCal, close the preferences and then quit iCal.
    Re-open iCal and check to see if the events are gone.  If not you may want to leave it open for several minutes and then quit again.
    Once the events are removed go back to  iCal > Preferences > Advanced > Delete events "X" days after they have passed and make sure the check mark is removed to prevent future deletion.
    Hope that helps.

  • How to delete all Messages in B1-Event-Monitor

    Hello,
    is there a way to delete all Messages from the B1-Event-Monitor.
    Now we have:
    ... But when I try the "Delete All" Function nothing happend, and the Browser hang.
    I found this post.B1if db unexplained growth.. and followed all steps.
    1)Monitoring->B1 Event Monitor->Switch the log off. Now press delete all button. To clear all the logs.
    It is recommended that the B1 Event Monitor is turned on only when debugging& analyzing specific issues. During normal usage, you should switch the B1 Event Monitor off:
    2)Maintenance->Cfg Msglog->Click on Manual Delete and provide the appropriate input and press Delete.
    3)B1if is handling the message log deletion automatically on the daily bases (B1if -> Maintenance -> Cfg MsgLog -> Daily deletion button). By default it#s set to 23.00. It means the server needs to be up at this time. This value can be set according the customer#s requirement and here you can find more option regarding the message log settings as well. (Kindly check whether Backup buffer(days) is set to 0, if yes check by changing it to 1)
    4)Schedule an immediate Transaction-Log Garbage Collect (B1if #> Control Center #> Maintenance #> Schedule TLog GC #> Submit)
    5)Open Integration Framework->Control Center->Maintenance->tlog delete->Select the Execution status as "Completed"->submit. Wait for the process to complete.
    6)Now restart the Integration service.
    Messages are still in the B1-Event-Monitor.
    I think our mistake was the LOG-Level ON during all the time.. the daily deletion I switched to 03:00 with 1 day Buffer
    Thank you for an Idea.

  • If I have to format an external hard drive to make it Mac compatible, will it delete all the content in the external hard drive?

    If I have to format an external hard drive to make it Mac compatible, will it delete all the content in the external hard drive?

    As others have said, the answer to your question is a big YES.  Formatting a drive will delete everything!
    To keep your data, yet reformat the drive for optimal Mac compatibility, you will need to:
    1) copy your files to a different hard drive (I would recommend two different locations if you value your data)
    2) repartition/format the external drive
    3) then copy the files back to the external.
    You haven't given details but if you need the external to ONLY be compatible with the Mac (and no longer care if if can be read by Windows), then you will want to partition the drive using the GUID partition scheme, and format as the (HFS+) "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" filesystem.  You can do so using the built-in "Disk Utility" application on your Mac (in the Applications/Utilities directory).  Here are instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph5845
    If you need the drive to be compatible with both Mac and Windows computers then please post that so someone can recommend a solution for your specific needs.

  • Delete all masterdata in BW at once

    At this moment I'm with a customer, where we have to redesign almost all masterdata. But first we have to delete the master data.
    The easiest way of doing this, is by deleting all masterdata of all info-objects (Attributes, Hierachies and Text)at once, instead of deleting info-object after info-object.
    I know that there is no formal way of doing this. Does anybody know a workaround?
    With regards,
    Alex

    HI Alex,
    While it is true that the reason why you cannot delete master data is because of referential integrity checks between MD and data in the infoproviders it should be noted that these are surrogate keys and not the actual key values (ie. customer id, employee #, etc).  Assuming that you are not looking to change these but rather the attributes hanging off of these you can do the following:
    - adjust the /BI0/Q and /BI0/P tables using SE14 (activate and adjust database - drop contents).  This will delete the contents of the time dep and time indep master data tables.
    - do the same for the text tables assuming that you have this
    - you may have to also do this for the navigational attributes tables, again assuming that these have been turned on at the infoobject level.
    - Do NOT touch the /BI0/S table since this provides the link to your infoproviders.
    - reload your master data.
    Cheers,

  • How to search for a pattern string in entire registry and delete all the keys and subkeys that contain the pattern (C# or VB)?

    I want to search for a pattern string in the entire registry and need to delete all the keys and sub-keys that contain the pattern. How can I implement this in VB Script or C#? Appreciate if you can give some sample examples. Now every time, I am manually
    searching for the pattern in registry and deleting one by one.
    Thanks Prasad

    There is no built in way to do this. You'll end up having to enumerate all keys and values in the entire registry and comparing each one for a pattern using Regex or similar.  This is going to be really slow but there isn't much else you can do about
    it (other than parallelize the enumeration).  Also note that you won't have permissions to all keys for read and/or write access so you'll need to skip over those using exception handling.

  • Deleting all linked documents per sales order/item

    We have documents linked to our sales orders/items (which can be seen via CV03N).  I would like to run a batch program to selectively delete all of these linked documents.  There is a function module CV140_LINKS_DELETE that looks will do the trick if you supply DOKAR, DOKNR, DOKVR, DOKTL, DOKOB and OBJKY.  In our case DOKAR is 'ZQN', DOKVR is '00', DOKTL is '0000' DOKOB is 'VBAP' and OBJKY is a combination of sales order/line.  How would DOKNR be filled in if I want to delete all documents?
    Thank you.

    In my case, I'm trying to delete the following:
    DOKAR = 'ZQN'
    DOKNR = (can have 34 different values ranging from Q01-Q34)
    DOKVR = 00
    DOKTL = 0000
    DOKOB = VBAP
    OBJKY = sales order/line - I have this in an internal table I loop thru
    My issue is with the DOKNR value.  Is there a way to delete all document links for a sales order/line when you don't have a DOKNR value?

  • Delete all by last 10 records...

    I have a table where I only want to keep the last 10 records of the of the product.
    say for instance, I have a products table and it has apples, oranges... and another table that lists each sales transaction for each product.  As you can see.. you would get 1000's of records in the sales table.
    I want to delete all records in the sales table, except for the last 10 records for apples?
    any help?

    I have a table where I only want to keep the last 10 records of the of the product.
    TRUNCATE TABLE is faster than DELETE and uses fewer system and transaction log resources.
    Try
    -- code #1 v2
    IF Object_ID('tempdb..#LastSales','U') is not null DROP TABLE #LastSales;
    ;with
    SalesSeq as (
    SELECT *, Seq= row_number() over (partition by IDProd order by SalesDate desc)
      from Sales
    SELECT IDSales, IDProd, SalesDate, Qty
      into #LastSales
      from SalesSeq
      where Seq <= 10;
    TRUNCATE TABLE Sales;
    INSERT into Sales (IDSales, IDProd, SalesDate, Qty)
    SELECT IDSales, IDProd, SalesDate, Qty
    from #LastSales;
    IF Object_ID('tempdb..#LastSales','U') is not null DROP TABLE #LastSales;
    You cannot use TRUNCATE TABLE on tables that:
        Are referenced by a FOREIGN KEY constraint
        Participate in an indexed view
        Are published by using transactional replication or merge replication.
    To test:
    CREATE TABLE Products (IDProd int primary key, DescProd varchar(30));
    CREATE TABLE Sales (IDSales int primary key, IDProd int references Products, SalesDate smalldatetime, Qty smallint);
    INSERT into Products values
    (1, 'apple'), (2, 'orange');
    INSERT into Sales values
    (1, 1, '20120103', 18), (2, 1, '20120104', 22), (3, 1, '20120105', 50),
    (4, 1, '20120105', 19), (5, 2, '20120103', 5), (6, 1, '20120113', 5),
    (7, 1, '20120123', 20), (8, 1, '20120203', 7), (9, 1, '20120203', 20),
    (10, 1, '20120303', 21), (11, 1, '20120313', 2), (12, 1, '20120401', 15);

  • Need suggestions for concurrent reads while deleting all entities

    Hello,
    we need some suggestions for the following use case, as we cannot seem to find the correct transaction locking combination to meet our needs.
    We are using BDB JE 4.1.10, and the entityStore is transactional. In a nutshell, BDB JE is used as a Cache for specific data that is pulled and updated regularly from a source Oracle DB. The application that holds BDB is a realtimel app, and response time is critical.
    In order to avoid having to merge (Insert/update/delete) entities for some of the tables that are very static and small (a few hundred records that might change every day or so), we are trying to simply delete all records (with an EntityCursor loop, since there is no 'deleteAll' that we could find) and reinsert all data every 5 minutes, and then committing when the whole process is complete. This should always be very quick, but we are not immune to timeouts from the source Oracle DB, so the transaction can be long.
    Ideally, while the delete/insert is happening, we want any concurrent read operations to return the old data (before the delete). We have made a test that locks the updater thread between the 'delete all' and 'update all' methods, so that the delete cursor is closed, but the Tx is not yet commited. We have tried the following for our reader thread:
    1- If we get() a deleted entity with a LockMode.READ_UNCOMMITTED, we get a null entity back.
    2- If we get() a deleted entity with LockMode.READ_COMMITTED, we get a LockTimeoutException.
    We have also considered simply using truncate on the EntityStore, but this requires closing and reopening the DB, so this would not work for our need to always return a value, instantly.
    Any ideas, suggestions on how we could do this in a simple manner?
    Thanks,
    Max

    Hello Max,
    I understand the issue you're describing.
    I think the best performing solution by far is to load the new data into new databases while servicing reads from the old databases. When the load is complete, reads can be diverted to the new databases, and the old databases can then be removed.
    Unfortunately, this is easier to do with the base API than with the DPL, because the DPL is managing the underlying (base API level) databases for you.
    However, even using the DPL, this approach could be very straightforward if you happen to be keeping this data set (the one that needs to be reloaded) in a separate EntityStore, or you can change your application to do so. If so, you can create a new (empty) EntityStore with a different name and use this store for loading the new data. When the load is complete, divert reads to the new EntityStore object and remove all databases for the old EntityStore.
    If this is impractical, please explain, and I'll try to suggest a different solution. If you cannot use a separate EntityStore for this particular data set, then the solution may be more complex.

  • Delete all the database table content

    Hello Friends,
    I have a z table with 5 fields (all the key fields) and I want to delete all the table content and load fresh content from internal table.
    I tried using syntax 'delete ztable' but sy-subrc value is coming as 4, means no table content is getting deleted.
    Please suggest me any alternative way to delete all the database table content.
    Thanks in advance,
    Shreekant

    Hi,
    try using
    delete from ztable.
    This will delete all records from your ztable. After this command u can fill your ztable from itab by the following command
    select *
    from std table
    into corresponding fields of itab.
    insert ztable from table itab.
    Hopefully this will solve your problem.

  • Lion deleted all my backups !

    Hi,
    after insalling Lion (10.7.3), it made a backup on time machine (approx 20 GB) and all went fine.
    Next backup, I noticed the message "deleting old backups" (or something like this). I though it was just some clean up after the installation... taking too much actually, a bit suspicious...
    So I was *horrified* when I discovered that Lion was actually deleting ALL previous backups, (say a couple of years history).
    I stopped in in time do save just the last month
    I am incredibly disappointed !  Why in the world that could happen ???  Now I lost all my hystory.
    The only option I have is to try some disk recovery option, but I am sure that even if I find the old file it could be impossible to restore them in the time machine backups history, which I understand is rather complex and impossible to fix "by hand" , isn't it ?
    Anyone has had such dramatic experience? Any hint on how I can solve it ?
    --Claudio
    PS. the whole story is:
    installed 10.7.2
    time machine backup OK
    migrated form mobile me to icluod (apparently ok)
    icloud not present on preferences pane (mistery)
    update to 10.7.3 --> installation stuck and MBP lost
    recovered 10.7.2 from time machine
    update to 10.7.3, this time OK (with icloud preference pane correctly in his place)
    time machie gone crazy

    That would explain the behavior, but I am afraid it does not convince me too much.
    I do not remember exactly how much disk space was left, but probably not much enough to contain a whole snapshot but surely far from "nearly full" (roughly, say 150 GB free on TM disk, and 200 of data in the MBP disk?)
    So, removing SOME of the earliest backups would have left enough space... not ALL of them
    Anyway, (assuming this is the expalnation) I would have apreciated being asked for an authorization, or at least a warning message (something like http://pondini.org/TM/C4.html, but before deleting !)
    Well thank you all for your comments, I guess I'll just have to live with it
    One last thought: any hope to recover old backups and copy them to a backup backup-disk?

  • Delete command is not deleting all rows

    Hi All,
    Database version 10.2.0.2
    Delete command is not deleting all rows and deleting some subset of rows which it should delete, ever time I delete and do the roll back, next time it will delete some random rows, count is different everytime with in the range but not complete in anyway. see the following -
    select count(*) from test where evt_id in (select evt_id from test1);
    COUNT(*)
    27105
    delete from test where evt_id in (select evt_id from test1);
    16045 rows deleted.
    select count(*) from test where evt_id in (select evt_id from test1);
    11060
    rollback;
    Againg the same procedure -
    select count(*) from test where evt_id in (select evt_id from test1);
    COUNT(*)
    27105
    delete from test where evt_id in (select evt_id from test1);
    14320 rows deleted.
    select count(*) from test where evt_id in (select evt_id from test1);
    COUNT(*)
    12785
    why its not deleting all the 27k rows in one shot? Is there any bug related to that?
    Thanks
    Abhinav

    Odd that what looked like identical statements produced different results, both the counts and the deletes. The most likely cause of that is your data is changing - as Fahd suggested perhaps a simultaneous load taking place.
    The delete issue is probably not due to a bug. Possible but unlikely.
    If any evt_id values are NULL they won't be deleted with the subquery - a NULL in test.evt_id will never match a NULL in test1.evt_id.
    Have you tried alternative subqueries - a correlated EXISTS subquery for instance?
