So close to fixing this problem with iMovie clip frame rate!
Hi! Please help!
I'm recording short videos in iMovie using the built-in camera on my Macbook Pro. I did this yesterday and again this morning without incident. Everything worked great. Then, this afternoon, I made another video - EXACTLY the same way I'd done the other ones - and yet, this time, the clip mysteriously recorded at 18fps instead of 30fps. As a result (I think) the audio is out of synch. I have detached the audio as some have suggested in other forums, but this has not fixed the problem.
QUESTION: How can I convert the clip from 18fps to 30fps?? Is this even possible?? I'd really like to avoid re-recording, if at all possible.
I am a novice. Please explain any solutions to me as though I am a child. Thank-you!

Are you speaking about this particular change of frame rates or any?
Having transfered Super 8 film that was shot at 18 fps, I have little choice but to change the rate. So far everything seems to be working out fine. For 24 fps iMovie does a pull-down of 1 1 2; for 30, 2 2 1. I'm a little confused as to whether I should use 24 or 30 fps. I'll be asking about this in a new thread.
The easiest way to change a projects framerate is to edit the project xml file.
Right click on your iMovie project file and choose "Show package contents..." (or something similar)
Edit the "Project" file (no extension) using the free Textwrangler editor or a plist capable editor.
Find the node "frameRate" and update to 30.
Really? That's a cool trick! But it sounds like it could easily mess things up. Have you tried this and with what scenarios?
or easier just create a new project

Personally, I would never use a debit card online, for security reasons. If your card gets hacked its your money that is stolen. At least with a credit card it is the card providers money that is stolen.
Anyway, I would delete the app and re-install. If you paid for the app in the first place you will be able to re-install free of charge. Also, the app should allow the in-app purchase to happen again as it should recognise that you have already purchased it previously.
Finally, it might be that the 3G doesnt have as much ram as more recent models of iphone and you may have applications running in the background that are preventing the app to function with the in-app purchase unless you shut down any apps eating all you memory that are running in the background. Shut-down these apps (and the simpson tap out app) by exiting to your home screen and double-tapping the home button to show what apps are running in the background. press and hold any of the open apps until it starts shaking. close all the apps down. exit then re-launch the app.

How can I fix this problem with exporting Pages files?
Hello,
I'm having problems with exporting Pages files to Word or PDF (I haven't tried the other formats). Whenever I try to export the Page file, I get one message like this: "The document "XXXXXXX" could not be exported as "YYYYYYY". This problem started after the last Pages update, before that it was working fine. I restarted the computer, updated the OS, but the problem hasn't been solved.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

For example, a display cable that was accidentally pinched during assembly would pass quality control testing with flying colors and would not fail until the lid had been opened and closed several times.
Likewise a display might not fail until powered on and off a few hundred times. -
How do I fix this problem with Faces on my iPhoto?
Recently, I bought a new MacBook Pro (with Retina Display, Early 2015, 500 GB.) When I restored my information from a Time Machine backup, everything appeared to be perfect. However, when I actually started looking through iPhoto, my photos began incorrectly rotating themselves before my eyes.
I tried just about everything to fix this. I went through all the processes of "repair permissions," "rebuild thumbnails," "repair database," and "rebuild database," and none of those fixed the problem. Worse, more continue to incorrectly rotate themselves before my eyes as I view them. Usually, the ones that rotate themselves are portraits, but occasionally landscape photos do the same. Also, when I select "reveal in finder" for a photo that has rotated itself incorrectly, the "original file" is always correct, while the "modified file" is incorrect. I don't know why this "modified file" comes about because I am certainly not modifying it.
Taking a suggestion from a user here in the Apple Support Community, I used iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild a new library from my original one. This appeared to work really well. Although many photos were rotated incorrectly, this appeared to be organic, and I wasn't noticing photos being incorrectly rotated as I looked through them. So, I set out to complete the long task of rotating all of my photos correctly in my new iPhoto library.
However, I've encountered another problem (in the new library only.) iPhoto isn't recognizing when I change, add, or delete faces. If I do any of those three things, the information bar still recognizes the original state of faces (i.e. saying "2 unnamed faces" when I just named the faces or deleted the empty boxes.) This is annoying because it makes my library inconsistent, and I would at least like the option of using the feature.
So, I now have two iPhoto libraries: my original one that keeps rotating photos incorrectly as I look through them and one that doesn't acknowledge changes made to faces.
I would really appreciate any help in trying to fix either of my libraries. I hope to make one perfect soon and delete the other one to make more space, but I want to be completely satisfied with one before I delete the other.

How do I fix this problem with my iTunes?
I've been having problems with my iTunes for over a week now - since I tried to update to iOS 5 - and I've tried everything. I've had to uninstall iTunes multiple times and each time I have reinstalled it, there has been some form of error, the list seems endless. Today, I managed to get an older version to succeessfully install but when I tried to update to the newest version, this is what appeared on my screen after the 'install.'
"The procedure entry point AVCFAssetCreateWithByteSystemAndOptions could not be located in the dynamic link library AVFoundationCF.dll"
Any idea what this means, and/or how to resolve it?Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now? -
How do i fix this problem with my vid cards
ok i had my fx5200 installed and i would get a weird thing happening when i played games
to put it in words its like the screen was beating like a heart
every 2 seconds the screen would do something weird its hard to explain but im sure you understand
well now i got my fx5900xt and i just ran 3dmark03 on my whole computer ran every test and i got a score of a little over 4800 (thats on everything) and i noticed on the tests it did that heart beating thing again
how can i fix this?
i also ran it just on my vid card with the anisotropy turned down to 1 and set the resolution to 800x600 and i got a little over 5700 but it still had that heart beting thing again thru the testshow would i go about finding this ??

How do you fix this problem with the View Menu?
Hi. This is my first time on this forum so please forgive me if not worded correctly.
I have recently installed CS5 on Windows 7. I work with large folders of images. When I open the folder the images are spread out with a big gap between each row of images. It is much easier when they are close together especially when I am selecting a large number of images to transfer or copy. If I change the menu view to details and then immediately back to list they display as I want. As soon as I open any folder again they go back to being all spread out.
I thought it may be a Windows problem but I have set it up correctly in Windows Explorer and saved it as that option for all files. They display perfectly on that and also other programs I use where I need to view large amount of images.
Can anyone suggest what the problem may be and how I can fix it? Please see the following screen grabs which will show what I mean.
The top version is how I like the files to look. The bottom version is what I always get in CS5. If you can solve the problem I would be very happy.

In Windows 7 click the start button, choose computer then open your C drive.
From there you will see something similar to this,
Click on the sort options and choose list. Now we need to make it the default so when you look in photoshop it remains as a list.
to do that from this same window choose tools then folder options. A new window will pop up called folder options on the second tab called View is an all folders button, this will apply this view to all folders. if you have Photo shop open close it re-open it and how you will always get the view you want. -
Can Applescript fix this problem with no Reply-To field in mail rules.
Hi I'm trying to sent up an automatic response email in mail rules, the problem is when I filter the email I want to respond to, I don't get the option to send a response to the "Reply-To" field, I can only reply to the "From" field which is no good to me. The mails I receive are booking inquiries generated by an online form so the "From" field is always the same email address not the guest address which is in the "Reply-To" field.
Can any applescript genius out there help me out, it would save me so much time !!

If you set theQuote to "", then it won't quote the original. The quote is plain text, so not a great solution.
There is an option in Applescript to reply to a message, but it does the same as the rule. I tried to edit that message, but it didn't let me. So, I went with the above method.

Apple, please fix audio problems with iMovie
Ok, I have many iMovie projects, about 10. In one project when I add music from iTunes I can control the tracks fade, volume, everything I'm able to control. This is also possible when I make a new project and add music from iTunes.
So, this is possible in one project and all new projects.
But when I try to add music from iTunes to an existing project (all other 9 projects) the audio controls do not work. I can't mute the iTunes mp3 I can't fade it, NOTHING. Having bought my $6000 mac primarily for iMovie you can imagine how frustrating this is.
I've tried the following
Re-installing software
Deleting preferences
Clipping audio in garage band
Using different music, including different file types, eg .WAV
It's obviously a bug apple, please fix it asap.Hi

I'm trying to run Firefox on a Mac with Parallels and Windows XP. I can use Firefox, that's fine, what I can't do is sync my bookmarks. They are all synced on both macs, and my old PC, a really slow Dell L110, thus trying to use Parellels. Is there any way to contact someone who can look at why my log in to Xmarks won't work on Parallels? Or if there is a support page somewhere where one can actually get some answers, please let me know. My ipod classic has started making a mewling sound and all it does is scroll through the songs. It does not play on my Bose sound dock or through earbuds. It will play when connected to the computer...but that makes it hard to take it on a walk with me I thought it might be a synching problem so tried that--still doesn't work. How do I fix this problem with out restoring it to the factory setting? I do not want to lose all my music content as some of it I cannot replace easily. Please help with suggestions and advice. Have a problem with Lightroom 5.4. Since the program crashed yesterday it won't launch, it comes up with the message "Lightroom encountered an error when reading its preview cache and needs to quit". " Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem next time it launches". Except that it doesn't, I keep getting the same message and the program closes. Does anyone know what I can do to repair it? Can't back up, can't do anything.

I am using a Canon 640 printer and my MPNavigator will not remain open. It pops open then quickly closes. I've used it for several years but it just started doing this. What can I do to fix this problem?
I had a similar problem with a Canon MP800R under Mac OS X 10.9.2 Mavericks.
In my case, the MP Navigator app in the dock was linking to the wrong file.
It linked to Applications > MP Navigator 2.1.app > Contents > Resources > MP Navigator.app, but it should link to the "main" app, probably under Applications > MP Navigator 2.1.app.
After pulling the correct MP Navigator app file to the dock, I can start MP Navigator again by clicking on it in the dock. However, when clicking on it, a second MP Navigator icon will show up in the dock and stay there until the app is closed. By the way, the MP800R scanner also works (although officially not supported by Canon). -
Every time i try to do anything with itunes it freezes after a few seconds and i have to force it to close. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Im aweful with computers and have tried everything i know of.
