You should still be able to sync you iPod. Your iPod just can be updated past iOS 4.2.1.
Assuming you have a PC, start her to get your computer to see the iPod.

No, you should be able to use/install LR5. Make sure you are using the correct number. If the problem continues explain the details of what you do and what happens.

Trial download of Flash CS3 was not completed: does this mean I can't download it again?

A few weeks back I started to download the trial version of Flash CS3 (I am still using Flash 8, but have a CS3 file created elsewhere that I want to re-save as Flash 8). Unfortunately the internet link was broken when only about 80% had downloaded. Adobe has assumed I have the download - does this mean that I cannot try downloading it again? (When I attempt to do so there is a brief flurry of activity, then nothing happens.)

if you have a problem dl'g, you didn't follow all 7 steps. the most common error involves failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com). so, your browser must also accept cookies to enable these downloads.

Yes, if you choose the Erase and Sync option (or restore your iPod) you will be allowed to sync your iPod with the new computer.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this has not worked. I didn't have quicktime to begin with so I don't know if that makes a difference? After following the instructions, I get the "registry keys missing" problem appear again (which I've subsequently fixed again) and then when I connected the ipod I got the following message - 'Device driver software was not successfully installed'.
I've tried windows update but this doesn't do anything as '...the service is not running'.
Any suggestions?

Even double tapping the home screen button and closing my opened apps. And I tried looking for the photo app in the app store but I did not see it. So I am wondering what can I do? No, I have not tried any backup tools. I havent restored my ipod back to factory settings yet and then sync everything back on it. I am kind of scared too because I dont want to lose anything. I have just been hoping some new apple software update will come out because I know several people have had problems when updating to the newest version available.

the only other thing i can think of is the put the ipod into recovery mode
but as itunes cant find it, it may not work
hold the power button for 3sec's keep holding the power button now also hold in the home buttton the screen goes black
now let go of the power button keep the home held in the screen goes blue and shows the itunes with the cd and the up arrow with the usb cable, connect to itunes to start recovery mode.
or take it to an apple store fore them to help with recovery mode but this can take up to 3hrs

Does this mean i can download it w/out having to worry about any conflicts?,.. that its coming from a safe source, etc? Does it have any downsides? I dont really understand~ When i open my Flash Player pane, click on Advanced tab, the heading "Updates" reads~ "Not updating may leave this computer vulnerable to security threats." The reason for my concern is that Adobe no longer offers FP updates for my OS [10.5.8],not even archived. So my original question probably should have read~ When visiting a web site does Flash automatically load onto safari. If so, can using Click to Flash;... and NOT clicking to flash, prevent Flash from loading, and possibly carrying a "security threat" [virus?], into Safari or my Mac? What version of iPhoto are you using? Post a screenshot of the menu where you see dictation. That's the first time I've heard of that.

You can upgrade the iMac for no extra charge - sign into the App Store there, download and install 10.8.
I recommend that you make a backup (Time Machine is probably the easiest method) before you install, and make sure that you are not using any applications that are incomptible with 10.8 (eg Office 2004) - other than that, it should go smoothly.
