Soa suite 10.1.3.1 bpel startup error

Hello,
I installed the soa suite 10.1.3.1 on Linux with Java 1.5.0-12. First I did a Advanced install. Everything was fine except, I used to get a:
Failed to read WSDL from http://localhost:port/orabpel/default/TaskActionHandler/1.0/TaskActionHandler?wsdl: HTTP connection error code is 500 for any BPEL process (Even the hello world). Then I undeployed that version and deployed a 'Basic' install. Still I get the same error in the console. On checking the application log in the orabpel deployment folder I saw this exception on both occasion:

The install says succesful...Any ideas? Thank.

thanks for the tip. applied the patch. but didn't help. it is just a no class def found error. How hard can it be to make it find the class it wants (as long as i get to know what class it wants!)

  • RAC node outage causes SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 BPEL  failure

Using weblogic 9.2 and the SOA Suite 10.1.3.4. We use a 10g Oracle RAC ( 2 nodes ); the WL cluster has a multi data source of 2 pools, each pool pointing to a single node in the rac, each pool deployed to the cluster, and the multi data source in load-balancing mode.
So the other night, one of the db nodes had a hardware failure ( ironically, with a remote monitoring / management card ). Annoying, but it should not have caused the BPEL servers to be in "FAILED NOT RESTARTABLE" status the next morning.

Both managed instances of the BPEL cluster failed, even though the 1st node of the Oracle RAC was still available.
Our 10.3 cluster, also using multi data sources to the same RAC for the OSB components, simply went on about its business using the remaining rac node pool.
Seems to be a single point of failure...

We haven't changed the JDBC connection string yet, but we did run a test in the same environment while Oracle support considers the situation.
For the test, we simply shutdown one node of the RAC and watched to see what happens. Within the space of a minute, the JDBC "Failed Reserve Request Count" was increasing by thousands on every refresh of the screen. We restarted the RAC node after 5 minutes, by which time the "Failed Reserve Request Count" was over 190,000
The 2 BPEL managed servers remained in Running status and each created a 660 MB log file within that 5 minutes. In the original outage, the nodes were down for about 15 minutes. Most of the logging is being generated from within the oracle.tip.esb classes, not by the weblogic classes. It looks like that once the pool pointing to the downed RAC node becomes disabled, the Oracle BPEL code is still trying to use it even though the multi-source JNDI is the published lookup:

    java.security.AccessControlException - access denied (com.collaxa.security.ServerPermission server read)
Though my esb console, orawsm, rule author, hw_service all are working fine. For your info I am using default file based security. realm is jazn.com
THe problem I fetched since I registered soa_oc4j with OID. and then assign orabpel instance level security provider to OID. later I switched to again my default existing file based security without checking OID is working or not. I restarted oc4j container, soa_oc4j and restarted database.DOne everything but all failed.
Tried all possibility gone in vain. My requirement is so urgent that I am dying for it.
plz if somebody can come up with a solution It will be highly appreciated.

    Hi AJ,
I have not followed the same. I have done to register OID from em console. and then simply changed the security provider as newly registered OID with bpel and hw_services.Is there any way to revert it back.*however I have found that the is_config.xml.BPM is missing from the <SOA_HOME>/bpel/system/services/config directory.*

    Any ideea ?

    Man Christian!
1000 Thanks for your tip. I run into same issue on W2K3 with 10.1.3.4 MLR#4 (so far last MR allowed for AIA apps).
I had the orabepl.ear file of the size as was mentioned earlier: 2.530.260 in the bpel\system and other one on the j2ee\ocj4_soa\applications folder.
    Copying did not help.
I had to perform following steps from the <MLR#4>/custom/scripts/post.bat file which takes the file from the bpel\system,
ADDS some another .jars in it and ONLY THEN move it to the j2ee\...\applications folder:
    copy %ORACLE_HOME%\bpel\system\j2ee\orabpel.ear %ORACLE_HOME%\bpel\system\services\lib\orabpel.ear
    copy %ORACLE_HOME%\bpel\system\j2ee\ejb\oc4j_ejb_services.jar %ORACLE_HOME%\bpel\system\services\lib\ejb_services.jar
    copy %ORACLE_HOME%\bpel\system\j2ee\ejb\ejb_ob_engine_oc4j.jar %ORACLE_HOME%\bpel\system\services\lib\ejb_ob_engine.jar
    cd %ORACLE_HOME%\bpel\system\services\lib
    %ORACLE_HOME%\jdk\bin\jar -uvf orabpel.ear ejb_services.jar ejb_ob_engine.jar
After doing manually these steps the orabpel.ear in j2ee\...\applications has got the size: 2.798.840 which was bigger as right after patch application.
Then I deleted the orabpel folder from the j2ee\...\aplication-deployments
started the j2ee containe (it was named: oc4_soa ) and the BPEL Console started live well as before in 10.1.3.3
As I did verify from other files The rest of steps from the post.bat file seems did well, only this part was not executed.
    With Best Regards,
    Alexey

  • BPEL Control in SOA Suite 10g doesn't display BPEL Process deployed in jdev

    Hello,
I've created a directory in C:\ as Examples for my demo BPEL Projects.
After deployment is successful using Jdeveloper, BPEL Control in Oracle Application Server 10g doesn't display the BPEL process in Dashboard. This is possible only if I have my BPEL Projects placed under /jdev/mywork folder or I have to click on "Deploy New Process" and select the jar file from /bpel/output directory.
How do I make BPEL control to look for the deployed bpel jars by default in C:\Examples folder?
    Help appreciated!

bpel control won't look at those locations when you have deployed a bpel process
after deployment it will unpack the jar in some tmp location in your domain
i'm sure what you mean with those 2 locations, they both have nothing to do with a deployed version of your bpel.
jdev will generate the jar for you and after that it will be deployed to the application server. After that the jar isnt needed anymore in your jdev workspace, it's already on the server itself

    Hello,
I think you have omitted the username and password in connection string for your jdbc.
In fact when you test the connection your string is:
    [oracle@ofswas bin]$ sqlplus orabpel/[email protected]
    username/password@domain
and with it you can connect
    but your data-sources.xml is:
    <data-source class="com.evermind.sql.DriverManagerDataSource"
    name="BPELServerDataSource"
    location="jdbc/BPELServerDataSource"
    xa-location="BPELServerDataSource"
    ejb-location="jdbc/BPELServerDataSource"
    connection-driver="oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
    max-connections="50"
    min-connections="10"
    username="orabpel"
    password="orabpel"
    url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@ofswas.compasso.com.br:1521:asdb"/>
As you see in the url lack username and password to acces to your database
So try to use correct string:
    url="jdbc:oracle:thin:[username/password]@host:port:sid"/>
    I hope this help you...
    ByeBye

  • Integration with PeopleSoft Applications Using Oracle SOA Suite 11g BPEL

    Hi,
I'm integrating BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 Application on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 11g. The BPEL invokes the web service method generated from Peoplesoft Component Interface in a synchronuos manner.
I have deployed the BPEL in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper successfully but I have problem in configuring the BPEL node in Peoplesoft side using Oracle SOA Suite 11g(FMW) . I had done the integration of BPEL with Peoplesoft FSCM 9.0 on tools 8.49 using Oracle SOA Suite 10g earlier successfully by configuring BPEL node properties as follows:
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:8888/BPELConsole (System with Oracle SOA Suite 10g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
Using this BPEL node configuration, I was able to ping the BPEL console of Oracle SOA Suite 10g from peoplesoft and hence complete the integration successfully.
Now in order to acomplish Business rules and other functionality, the BPEL application has been developed in Oracle SOA Suite 11g using Jdeveloper 11g. This time I'm not able to configure the BPEL node in Peoplesoft for this integration as I'm assuming there is no separate BPEL console in Oracle SOA Suite 11g. All the BPEL deployments are administered in console (11g console used for deployment of BEPL)
http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server - Fusion Middleware).
So when I Configured the BPEL node property in Peoplesoft as :
BPEL CONSOLE : http://Host Name:7001/em (System with Oracle SOA Suite 11g server for deployment)
    BPEL DOMAIN : default
I'm not able to ping the Peoplesoft BPEL node to the Oracle SOA Suite 11g. Hence I'm not able to proceed with my integration.
When I searched the OTN discussion forum on BPEL console for Oracle SOA Suite 11g, all threads point that there is no separate BPEL console unlike Oracle SOA Suite 10g. Also most of the articles for Integration with Peoplesoft Application using SOA 11g do not state any specific configuration setting for property of Peoplesoft BPEL node in order to integrate with BPEL 11g. The examples published in OTN still point towards screen shots of integration using SOA Suite 10g.
So I'm not able to proceed in this regard.
Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Girish

    typo error

    Hi,
I found this document from the Oracle Open World 2009 (maybe you have found it too) :
"Integration with PeopleSoft applications using oracle soa suite 11g BPEL" --> [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/fmw4apps/peoplesoft/pdf/oow2009-bpel-psft.pdf]
And this could be a little more simple, but have a good step-by-step tutorial.
I think you must read this docs by now, but never come amiss.
    Hope this can help you,
By the way, if you can help me with this I'll appreciate it a lot.

  • Oracle SOA Suite 11g VS BPEL PM 11g

    Hello,
What is the difference between SOA Suite 11g and BPEL Process Manager 11g?
I understand BPEL PM is a component of SOA Suite 11g.
What capabilities does SOA Suite offer more than BPEL Process Manager 11g?
When does a customer choose BPEL PM 11g over SOA Suite 11g? I assume BPEL PM 11g will be less in terms of cost.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Ram,
What is the difference between SOA Suite 11g and BPEL Process Manager 11g?BPEL Process Manager 11g is a standalone product and it is part of SOA Suite 11g as well. SOA Suite 11g is actually a group of products and it includes -
    Oracle BPEL Process Manager
    Oracle Service Bus
    Mediator
    Oracle Business Activity Monitoring
    Oracle Web Services Manager
    Oracle Business Rules
    Oracle Human Workflow
    Oracle Event Processing
    JDeveloper and ADF
    Adapters
    Oracle Entitlements Server Basic
    Oracle B2B
So you cannot compare SOA Suite with BPEL.
What capabilities does SOA Suite offer more than BPEL Process Manager 11g?Oracle BPEL Process Manager enables enterprises to model, deploy, and manage BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) processes. It includes a BPEL business process modeler, a scalable BPEL run-time engine, an extensible WSDL binding framework, and a monitoring console. So use of BPEL is limited till business process implementation only whereas SOA Suite offers complete middleware SOA solution.
When does a customer choose BPEL PM 11g over SOA Suite 11g? I assume BPEL PM 11g will be less in terms of cost.Yes, if you want to implement BPEL processes only then you can buy only BPEL Process Manager 11g but if you are looking for to implement a complete middleware SOA solution then licensing SOA Suite 11g will be the better option.

This is what we have done :
1.Created the JDBC data source & connection pool as below :
    data source name : B2BAQ , JNDI name : jdbc/B2BAQ
    Connection Pool :
URL : taken from the tns entries of the instance
    Driver Class Name : oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
Tested this connection ..it works fine from the Admin Console
2.Then go to Deployments --> AqAdapter -> Configuration tab --> Outbound Connection Pool Group -->
Create a new connection pool instance -- General tab
    connection interface factory : javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory
    JNDI Name : eis/AQ/B2BAQ
Then in Properties tab : Enter the Data Source Name : jdbc/B2BAQ
Then we try to Start the AqAdapter from the Admin Console..it goes into Prepared status.
The error message which comes is mentioned above.
Is there any way we could resolve this ..that would be very helpful

  • Upgrade of SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 weblogic server

We have Oracle SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 with weblogic 9.2 as application server. Can we safely upgrade weblogic server to 10.3.2 without disturbing SOA Suite deployments. e.g. BPEL processes.
    thanks

    Hello Derek !
    Let me clarify:
    1. FP for SOA Suite on OC4J requires advance install of SOA Suite.
    2. FP for SOA suite on WLS requires basic version of SOA Suite.
Though the SOA Install guide for WLS talks about explicitly http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10291_01/doc.1013/e11848/weblogic.htm#BHCBEIBE
I agree that this information is not explicit enough in AIA Install guide, I will see if this can be included in existing 2.4 guide and a new version be uploaded to metalink. if not I will have this corrected for 2.5 guide.
and you are correct , MLR 7 is not certified on WLS, after MLR3, only MLR 8 is certified on WLS.
    Thanks

  • Is XA transactions supported for the SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 on weblogic platfor

  • SOA Suite queuing mechanism?

    Hi,
We have an integration project where we need a queuing mechanism. Transactions come in during the day. Some of them should be transformed and routed to one of the target systems, but some of them need to be pause and first be routed during the evening/night. Which options do we have in the SOA Suite? If we use BPEL we could use the Wait Activity, but what if we have thousands of waiting transactions? Are there other options? What about the ESB?
I was thinking about using an AQ queue, but if SOA has something we can use I rather use that.
    Regards Pete

    Thanks,
The customer has bought the SOA Suite so that is the platform we have to use. I am a database guy, so all this mocking about in the middle tier makes me itch :-)
There is going to be a bunch of integrations but the first one has XML messages coming in from several systems. The messages have to be transformed to another XML format and send to one system. The receiving system has a performance problem so we have to queue all messages and then make sure that we only send XX messages per minute/hour. So event if we use the Wait activity in BPEL we still have a problem with making sure that only a certain number of messages are send to the receiving system. I can see a straight forward way of doing this with a table or AQ. Are the any help in BPEL/ESB?
I know that BPEL can handle thousands of transactions; I am just a bit worried about having thousands of transactions that has to be dehydrated to the database and woken up now and then to check if it is ok to proceed.
    Regards Pete
