SOAP Exception from XI to R/3 via RFC
Hello,
We have a scenario where we are mapping SOAP Exception to RFC Exception.
Message status is application error in SXI_MONITOR and in payload,it shows correctly mapped RFC Exception (SOAP_EXCEPTION) with name and message.
But this message doesn't reach R/3.
Configuration is done as a registered server program in XI using a TCP/IP connection in R/3.
Can anybody please let us know what could be wrong over here?
Thanks.
Regards,
Shweta
Hi Swarup,
There is no error in RFC communication channel.
The conditions are
sy-subrc 1 for Communication failure
2 for system failure
3 for SOAP_EXCEPTION (passed in name field from XI)
but when I execute the report and this RFC is called,sy-subrc is always 0.
What could be the reason for this?
Thanks for the help.
Regards,
Shweta

Hi,
We're trying to use the soap adapter to send messaged from XI 2.0 into an external web service.
We receive an error message ADAPTER.UNKNOWN_SOAP_EXCEPTION, with the text "soap exception from an adapter".
Has anybody encountered this before? Any idea what we might be missing?
The test service itself works fine, and incoming soap messages also come through. Outgoing soap messages do not seem to reach the webservice itself at all.
The configuration file:

When you put the URL p://localhost/test/test.asmx
in the internetbrowser, do you see the webservice navigator or any other page coming up? If you get an error, you should change the URL

Updating Vacancy infotype VIA RFC
Hi All,
I am trying to move employees from one position to another via RFC that I have written. The problem is that if the position has a VACANCY "open" then I get a pop up screen.
If I manually make the position filled in infotype vacancy using the SAP GUI and then transfer the employee then it works fine.
Is there a way to make the position filled in vacancy infotype via an RFC?
Regards,
~MarkWhy not use a similar logic and use Modify or Update instead of a select. Assuming you are talkin about ZTables here. Do not update standard tables directly.

SOAP-XI-CRM via RFC:Exception: functiontemplate from repository was null
Hi
I am doing a simple SOAP-XI-CRM scenario where a webservice from the customer is fed into CRM using RFC in XI in a sysnc mode.
I am using a receiver RFC adapter which i've used in other scenarios as well and it always worked fine...but now for this scenario it gives the following error:

Ssrs report web service to save report as pdf throws error Soap exception unhandeled by user code
I am creating a C# web application to save an SSRS report as a pdf file on my local machine.
I added the ReportService web reference as RS2005 and ReportExecution2005 web reference as RE2005.
http://myServer/ReportServer_DEVPROJECT/ReportExecution2005.asmx?WSDL
http://myServer/ReportServer_DEVPROJECT/ReportService2005.asmx?WSDL
I created the following function SaveReport that is called on button click. My report can be accessed on the report server with the following url:
http://myServer/Reports_DEVPROJECT/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fData+Mgmt%2fSample+Letter
On the Report Manager home page the report link appears as "SAMPLE LETTER".
It is deployed in the DataMgmt folder on the Report Manager.
It uses a data source called "DS Letter" with option "Credentials stored securely in the report server"
My application gets compiled, but I get the following run time error:
Error: Soap exception unhandeled by user code. The item '/DataMgmt/Sample Letter' cannot be found. ---> Microsoft.ReportingService
s.Diagnostics.Utilities.ItemNotFoundException: The item '/DataMgmt/Sample Letter' cannot be found.
Please check my code and let me know what I can do to run this successfully. Once this is done, I would like to get help with passing a parameter (memberID) to the generate report for that member, through this application.
Thank You in advance for your help.

SaveReport();Hello Devster,
Thank you to post your question on TechNet forum.
After reviewing the whole post, I have a question to you. You can access the report via the link, http://myServer/Reports_DEVPROJECT/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fData+Mgmt%2fSample+Letter.
From the URL, I can see that the report is located at: /Data Mgmt/Sample Letter, instead of /DataMgmt/Sample Letter. In addition, I found that the target report is "/DataMgmt/Sample HAP Letter" instead of "/DataMgmt/Sample Letter" as the error described. I
am not sure whether you post out the correct code segment.
Please check the above things on your side, and hope it is helpful to you.

Call SOAP Adapter from CE BPM failed
Hi everyone,
i have just a problem calling a webservic on the PI 7.11 server from CE 7.2 BPM via SOAP adapter.
1. I've created a very simple scenario on the PI 7.11 Server using SOAP Adapter sender. I've gotten the WSDL URL from the Sender Agreement. It is like the following:
http://piserver:50000/dir/wsdl?p=sa/2e1cf474911939c89c0f5530b24c36f0
2. In the Service Registery of the CE server, I published this service manuelly. The SR created automactically endpoints (http, https) for me. I tested both. They worked very well. While publishing the service, I've also assigned it to the correct system, which has the type IS.
3. I've imported the wsdl into my BPM and assigned it to a automatic activity. I've also created a new service group for this service interface.
4. After deploying the BPM onto the CE server, I've created a new provider system with type IS. In the WS connectivity type, I entered the wsdl url from above again and the admin user on PI server for the Metadata User.
5. I've created a user in the "User Account Management" with connectivity type WS and entered the same user on the step 4 for the Metadata User, assigned this user to the provider system created on step 4.
6. In the "Application Communication", I assigned the provider system from step 4 to the serivce group created on the step 3.
7. Start the BPM and find out a very strange error message:
Error during SCA Processing
[EXCEPTION]
java.rmi.RemoteException: Could not process message for operation SI_SearchSalesOrder_outbound in web service plugin module.; nested exception is:
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.espbase.client.bindings.exceptions.TransportBindingException: Invalid Response code (401). Server <http://piserver:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?senderParty=&senderService=SAP_CE&receiverParty=&receiverService=&interface=SI_SearchSalesOrder_outbound&interfaceNamespace=http%3A%2F%2Fconet.de%2FSalesOrder> returned message <Unauthorized>. Http proxy info: none
I suppose that the metadata user is used to read the wsdl information form PI. For runtime processing maybe should also I provide a user. But I have no idea where I can configure the runtime user in the NWA.
Could some one give me some help on this position?
Thanks a lot in advance.
with best regards
XiangHi Michal,
thanks a lot for your answer. That's also my question. I've provided user to get the meta info for the WS on the CE server. But during the runtime, the BPM on the CE should also have a user to call the soap adapter. Normally we can add the sap-user, sap-pass behind the ws endpoint. But it doesn't work on the CE. Maybe I should use the principle propagation.
thanks a lot for your reply.
with best regards.

Naming exception from the pcd... occurred in PI 7.1
In PI 7.1 Iu2019ve got a process which gets invoked as SOAP service and synchronously calls a second SOAP service. The service returns the correct result and works, when called from the Web Services Navigator. When I call the Service on PI the Web Services Navigator only shows a NullPointerException (although the service gets invoked). The Message Monitoring of the Runtime Workbench doesnu2019t show any Message at all.
I looked at the Trace-Log and found the Message:
Naming exception from the pcd when trying to access the principal ROLE.PCD_ROLE_PERSISTENCE.VvlvkEGjiW9zPFaxR/4pd2/bX5Q=
Has anybody got an idea what could cause this behavior or how one can solve this problem? As far as I could find out PCD_ROLE_PERSISTENCE is part of the portal which is not meant to be Part of PI.
Regards,
TarikHello Osman,
We are also facing same ROLE.PCD_ROLE_PERSISTENCE.VvlvkEGjiW9zPFaxR/4pd2/bX5Q= error.
Also when I send a message via SAOPUI I get error:
com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.ConfigException: Some of the IS access information is not available. SLDAccess property may be set to true, but SLD is not available.
How did you exactly solve your issue?

Java WSDP 1.4 is not parsing SOAP Exceptions
We used Java WSDP 1.4 toolkit to generate stubs for webservices. We used Tomcat 5.1 as the web container. When methods of the webservice are invoked which do not return SOAP exception responses, WSDP is able to properly parse the response and display the resutls correctly. But when the responses contains SOAP exceptions, WSDP always returns
"java.rmi.RemoteException: Runtime exception; nested exception is: trailing block elements must have an id attribute".
But other toolkits like Axis 1.1,.Net,ColdFusionMX,Glue are returning proper exceptions messages. The following is the exception message received from the other toolkits for the same method invocation.
"Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. '1000:Invalid data source name 'invalid_String'"
Apart from Java WSDP all the other toolkits that we mentioned are able to parse the exception message properly and display the same.
Any ideas why the toolkit is behaving like this. All the versions of Java WSDP that have come till date have a similar problem. We would be happy to hear any responses for the problem the we are facing in Java WSDP 1.4. At present we have decided not to use the toolkit for any web service development.Am specifying the URL of the WSDL file for which we are unable to get proper SOAP Exceptions, whenever they are generated. Whenever we give valid values while invoking the methods, the response is properly parsed, but when a SOAP Exception is supposed to be generated, it generally returns the Runtime exception that we mentioned. Can you please look into it and identify the reason about why it is failing. In case you are able to run it through properly, please attach the code that would make it work properly.

SOAP Exception in JWSDP1.2
Hi,
We are using jtomcat4.1 and j2sdk1.4.2_01 with jwsdp1.2 to access a webservice using JSP. When SOAP Exception has to be thrown from the WebService, We are getting, "java.rmi.RemoteException: Runtime exception; nested exception is: trailing block elements must have an id attribute ". Is it a bug with the JWSDP toolkit or anyother workaround is there to get the correct SOAPException? This is not a bug. According to the JAXRPC spec. you should receive
either a SOAPFaultException or a RemoteException. There is no
tool/setting to get a SOAPFaultException instead. -

Plaase Help.Hi Veli,
Please check the security token timeout value and it is set to 1440 as expected by default. You can check via running the command:
stsadm -o getproperty -pn token-timeout
Then check the OOB recycle times of the probkematic web application pool, and add daily recycle times for the problematic web application pool. You can do as the article:

Gettin data from SAP R/3 4.7 unicode sys to SAP ERP non-unicode sys via RFC
We are trying to get data from SAP R/3 4.7 unicode sys to SAP ERP non-unicode sys via RFC. We are reading field from the database via FM and this field got converted by SAP standard Method (CL_ABAP_CONTAINER_UTILITIES=>fill_CONTAINER_C) from structure. When reading this field from ERP sys and converted back to structure using SAP standard Method the value is un-accurate, and different(blank) giving values.
How, if the data originally was a char or numeric it works fine, but not for decimal.
best regards,
Abu-QahtI have a range fields with different type of ranges, am saving these to the database by converting them to a string via the same method. I got the same problem so I tried to convert the string to xstring using function SCMS_STRING_TO_XSTRING, before send it to the other system, but the function raised an exception: CX_SY_CONVERSION_CODEPAGE

can any of one help to resolve this.
Thanks in advanceGanie
You are getting the exception at very first point of Pipeline Service i.e Receiver Determination, do compare the namespace, Sender Interface Name & Sender Service name with the payload you are sending from web-application, they must be exactly same.
The best way to get the test payload is suggested in above reply. -
