SOAP receiver Default timeout value

Hi Everybody,
I have a Proxy to SOAP scenario.
Can somebody tell me the default timeout for SOAP receiver adapter.
Note : Is it the same as SOAP sender which is 5 mins?
Thanks,
Zabiulla

Yes , it is same like sender soap adapter i.e. 5 mints. You can increase this in module tab of receiver soap CC. check sap note no 856597 for more detail.
Thanks!

  • What is the default timeout value for the SPQuery object?

What is the default timeout value for the SharePoint SPQuery object? I've tried searching online but can't find anything with the actual timeout value.
Someone suggested it might use the timeout property in the database? Anyone know if that's how it works?

    Hi,
Do you want to avoid timeout when you query list items?
If so, we can use the following C# code to set timeout.
    HttpContext.Current.Server.ScriptTimeout = 600; // 10 minutes
    More information is here:
    http://200oksolutions.blogspot.com/2013/03/sharepoint-2010-set-timeout-only-to.html
The SPQuery object doesn’t provide any property to set timeout. We can also set timeout in web.config, or SQL Connections or IIS.

  • [Bug] Default timeout value of Wait for Occurrence

This one kind of cheesed me off this morning.
When I create a constant/control from a terminal on a primitive I have come to expect the value to be the default value.  Those tricky folks found a way to get me again.
Drop a Wait on Occurrence onto the BD
Right-Click on 'Create Control' or 'Create Constant' from the suggestively named 'ms timeout (-1)' terminal
The value/default is not -1, but rather 0.
Slightly different behavior between -1 and 0.

Similarly I have an issue with how the Delete From Array function.  If I wire a 1D array of string to the input, and nothing else my output has the 1D array (with that index deleted), and then the Deleted Portion as a scalar string.
If I create a constant from the Length terminal, the value is 0 and the functionality of the primative changes so that now Deleted Portion output is an Array of String.
Personally, I greatly appreciate this usability enhancement. It would annoy me if I had to put an index array after every delete from array when I delete only a single element.
I like the feature, I don't like the implementation.  Why can't a value of -1 be the default and that corresponds to a single scalar item being removed?  Instead of 0 be the default corresponding to delete nothing.

  • SOAP Receiver sync call timeout

Hi guys, I need to increase the sync call timeout value for SOAP adpter as my receiver system has vaery slow response time. Which parameter to set? Currently is the message valid for 3 minutes.
    Thanks, Andrzej

    Hello
XI.Timeout can be used with the SOAP sender, and XMBWS.Timeout for the SOAP receiver.
There are further details in note - 856597
Q: Can I increase the default timeout value for the sender
    adapter?
A: Yes. The default timeout value for synchronous calls is 5
minutes. You can increase this value by setting parameter
XI.Timeout in the module parameter table of the SOAP adapter.
Q: Can I configure the timeout value of my receiver adapter?

  • How to decrease timeout value when there is no response from BOE server?

We are using BOE XI R2 .NET SDK to logon BOE XI R2 Server as below as well as using Infoview/CMC logon BOE:
    set boSessionManager = Server.CreateObject("CrystalEnterprise.SessionMgr")
set boEnterpriseSession = boSessionManager.Logon(boUserID, boPassword, boCMS, boAuthType)
There is no response for long time from BOE server after I excuting log on BOE using .NET SDK or Infoview/CMC App for more than one minute.
So I want to timeout the logon atction after a certain time such as one minute if there is no response from BOE server.
    My question comes:
    1. What is the default timeout value for this operation?
Where can I find it and how to modify it?
    2. I found ther are some registry keys on .NET APP Server:
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Report Application Server\InprocServer\EnterpriseRequestTimeout
        HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\Report Application Server\Client SDK\CorbaAdapter\WaitReplyTimeout
Are they for the action timeout I mentioned above? If not, what do they work for?
It seems that WaitReplyTimeout is for report data retrieval timeout according to Kbase article 1199286 and which registry setting to change for long running reports, is it correct?
    Thanks for any response.
    Thanks,
    Sunny

I don't think there is a setting available for this.  The timeouts you are looking at are essentially how long to wait for a report to process.
My concern about trying to find a setting like this is that if you do get the client (aka SDK) to timeout after one minute, the CMS may still recieve this request shortly after and logon, creating a session that no longer has a handle to it and will then have to wait for it to timeout because of inactivity which would tie up a license.

  • XMBWS.Timeout in soap receiver channel not working

    Hello
I have a requirement where my soap receiver channel should time out in 20 sec from the time it had shot a webservice request.
I tried setting the module parameter XMBWS.Timeout to 20000 but it didnt work. I assume this parameter should be set for the standard module i.e. sap.com/com.sap.aii.af.soapadapter/XISOAPAdapterBean.
Currently my receiver channel is timing out after every 3 min and that might be because the parameter xiadapter.inbound.timeout.default in SAP NWA is set to 180000.
Any other parameter to be set so that channel takes time out duration from module parameter.
Note: we are working on PI 7.1 EHP1

  • Soap receiver - owerwrite default http header fields

    Hi,
I'm using the soap receiver adapter in nosoap mode.
How can I owerwrite the default settings for the header fields in the http request?
The soap adapter will automatically set content-type = application/xml.
I would like for example set "text/xml".
    Thanks,
    Bela

    Dear Mohan,
I tryed with the keep headers option but it didn't change anything to the HTTP header fields.
In the documentation we have the following : Keep Headers
If you want to include the header of the XI message in the Web service message, set the indicator.
Does it mean that I have to create a HTTP header section in the XI message??? Do you have an example?

  • SOAP Receiver

Have an issue with new dev SOAP Receiver:
Connection times out with the below error
SOAP: call failed: java.net.SocketException: Connection timed out:could be due to invalid address
Connection is open and we can telnet the external server and also we can access the webservices,
    Thanks for your assistance

    Hi ,
We get this exception in java as public class ConnectException extends SocketException
This just signals that an error occurred while attempting to connect a socket to a remote address and port. The connection is refused remotely (e.g., no process is listening on the remote address/port). Or a firewall perhaps, blocking your request  ..
Maybe its a 504 Gateway Timeout
Connection timeouts occur when following steps happen:
    1. The IP address for the requested server is successfully found
    2. Connection establishment packets are dispatched to the IP address
    3. The destination address deliberately ignores or does not receive them
Similar to connection timeout is Connection Refused, but in this case the destination system is actually sending packets back saying "go away, there is no service running on the port you are trying to connect to"
Your packets are just being lost.. either the system or some intermediate system is firewalled.. if you can't connect using telnet, a browser or some other app, its a network problem.
Secondly there is a limit to number of conncetions the server can accept, Say for example after 250 it would not accept further conncetions. In java we can normally set the conncetion timeout period while we create the socket as per code shhown below
    Socket s = new Socket(); s.connect(new InetSocketAddress(my_hostName, my_port), 60000);
This code waits for 60 seconds to get connceted. A timeout of zero is interpreted as an infinite timeout. The connection will then block until established or an error occurs. But PI has a default timeout period set, so if your timeout value is more than the default period, this code won't have any effect. You can increase the default timeout period for PI and check if this is working. You can use the following link or take help of your BASIS team to alter the TIMEOUT period

  • Differentiating Soap receiver scenarios

    Hi,
I need to test a webservice scenario(PI consuming a webservice). We dont have the test environment set up for webservice providing system.
I have configured everything in PI, i have the endpoint URL but no valid hostname.
    So my question is:
    1) if i shoot a request with an arbitrary host name in the URL in Soap receiver channel; Will PI consider that the end system is down and how will it behave?
    2) Is there any difference between giving an arbitrary host name and giving a valid hostname which is actually down. how does pi behave in both of these cases?.
    3) I believe the time out value which we provide in receiver channel(XMBWS.Timeout) works only when the request has successfully reached the end system and the end system is taking time to respond. If the end system is down then this parameter doesnot make any difference, the time out considered will be the one which we set in NWA - xiadapter.inbound.timeout.default. Is my understanding correct?
    Regards
    Shailesh

    1) if i shoot a request with an arbitrary host name in the URL in Soap receiver channel; Will PI consider that the end system is down and how will it behave
everything will go fine till SOAP receiver channel.....then in RWB the channel will report an error saying receiver not found (or similar)
    2) Is there any difference between giving an arbitrary host name and giving a valid hostname which is actually down. how
does pi behave in both of these cases?.
Valid URL --> message transferred to the receiver without error
Invalid URL --> message does not leave XI/ PI and marked as an error in AE.

By default, the SOAP adapter sends the SOAP message with the content type text/xml.
When you check "Do not use SOAP envelope", the default contnet type is application/xml.
You can change the content type like this: Go to the SOAP receiver communication channel module tab. Add the module "localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean" before the standard module. Add the parameter name Transform.ContentType and value text/xml.

  • Soap Receiver Adapter - No Response Message

Hi, I've got the following scenario: Idoc - XI - Webservice. I've imported the WSDL from the .NET webservice and used the input and output messages in a syncronous interface.  I've setup a SOAP Receiver adapter with the Webservice details.  Everything is working fine when I call the webservice and the data is received 100% at the target system, but I am not getting ANY response back on XI.

2008-01-24 16:41:57 Success Acknowledgement sent successfully for type: AckNotSupported
Has it got anything to do with the "AckNotSupported" type?  Is "AckNotSupported" the default setting for the receiver SOAP adapter?  If so, where do I change this setting?
When I call the webservice with the exact same input using a standalone tool, I get the response message back 100%.  Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Rudi

    Hey
you are confusing between a response and an acknowledgement.
response and acknowledgement and not one and the same thing.
response is basically used when you send some query to the receiver system and expect a set of value(s) for your query.for e.g sending a query to a Database(JDBC) or SAP system(RFC)
and acknowledgement is just a notification that the message was receiver by the receiver correctly,it does not returns you a set of value(s).
now coming to your question,ALEAUDIT IDOC is generated when an IDOC is posted, since in your case you are not posting and IDOC,instead your are sending it ,i m not sure if ALEAUDIT will be generated or not,one thing that will come to your rescue is that every receiver SOAP adapter expects a HTTP response(irrespective of you explicitly asking it or not).
a HTTP 200 means that messages were posted successfully, and HTTP 500 means application error, get this HTTP response and send it back to the SAP system, most probably you would need to use BPM for this.
    Thanx

    HI Dani,
I was looking for this error and I found this post AXIS SOAP Receiver. This post says about other errors, but sugests many ideas to found the soluction, like:
1- non-deployed all AXIS jars; (but in this case it deployed all)
2- Exists this note for one erro in AXIS: (https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1028961).
3- this document (http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/b092777b-ee47-2a10-17b3-c5f59380957f) that have sets for header parameters. This is interesting becouse one of this parameters is obligatory but isn't filled, can occur error like "null object".
By the way, you can check if have update to AXIS (http://ws.apache.org/axis/), becouse isn't a SAP application and in other systems can have this error.
    I hope this helps,

  • No SOAP Envelope but 1 {'}Values; HTTP 200 OK

    Hi Experts,
I am configuring a scneario IDOC to SOAP , Asynchronous call  to an https url that is available through internet.
When I try to post message to this url. I am getting following error:
SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: No SOAP Envelope but 1 {'}Values; HTTP 200 OK
in SOAP Adapter Log. Due to this error the message is set to NDLV.
    I am using PI7.1
My Receiver Channel configurations are as contain
the third party url https://target with username password authentication. I have also imported client certificates.
Webservice host says its a problem with PI system and SAP says that its issue with Webservice.
Please let me know how can I resolve this issue. Am I missing something in my configuration. This is kind of a burning issue currently any help will be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
This looks strange. If the error text is telling the truth, your SSL connection was working and you could even reach some service that returned HTTP 200 OK. But this service didn't return a SOAP response. I don't know what 1 {*} Values means. It sounds broken to me. You can open a ticket.
But the reason why you didn't get a valid SOAP response (either a good one or a fault) is probably that your target URL is incorrect. Verify the URL and run the scenario with the relevant components (refer to the SOAP adapter FAQ note) on DEBUG. The default trace file should give you more information about this apparently corrupted response.
    Best regards, Yza

  • SOAP Receiver over SSL - server certificate troubles

    Hello all,
I have a scenario with SOAP receiver communication channel with comunnication over SSL. In the URL there is a IP address for a reason I will not mention ... simply there must be IP address in URL and not a host name.
When I access the SOAP server with internet browser it gives me a server certificate with HOST NAME in CN. I placed this certificate to the "trusted container" in J2EEVisAdmin - Key Storage.
Now you might already suspect the trouble: the certificate CN doesn't match with URL. This is obvios error we got many times on the internet (even in e-banking sector .. but we are able to skip it with our internet browsers' possibilities.
Could I set up something in J2EE server as same as in internet browser ???
