Software Center stuck on updating 2 components

Hi,
I accidently deleted my cache while software center was installing an application. Now my cache is empty and I just have a spinning circle that it is updating 2 components. Is there a way to reset the status? I don't see a way to repair the cfg mgr client
anywhere? TY

> installing an application
Try triggering the Application Deployment Evaluation Cycle to see if you can start the install again.
If it still doesn't work, use the Now Micro Right Click Tools to clear the cache on the device. In the future, remember that the files in the cache are related to data in WMI - just blowing away the files but leaving the WMI data will mess things up.

  • Software Center Stuck Installing

If a program has started running and is stuck at installing how can I stop it so that I can click on the Reinstall button? I have restarted SMS Agent Host and didn't help. I'd rather not remove the client from the collection and then re-add as
this is a workaround that may allow me to click on reinstall. I'd also prefer to not restart the computer.
What are the other options to reset this deployment back to status of Failed in Software Center?

    Hi,
What value have you set Maximum runtime to? if not configured that is 12 hours. Restarting the computer will solve it, most likely you have a setup process running as well that is causing the Software Center to wait for the installation to finish, killing
that process either with TaskKill or Task Manager should do the trick..

  • Applications Stuck at 0% Downloading in Software Center

I'm currently utilizing a SCCM 2012 R2 environment with roughly 100 Distribution Points.  The problem I'm running into is that random Applications will get stuck at 0% downloading at a location for all client PCs.  This same application will have
no problem at a different location using a different DP.  The only remediation I could find was to redistribute the application to the specific DP.  Once this is done, the application downloads and installs without a problem.
What is frustrating is the fact that this appears to be happening to random applications.  It's never for an application in which all distribution points need to redistribute, it's always one single DP.  It also appears to be happening for random
DPs, it hasn't been the same DP ever.
Any suggestions would be extremely helpful, and I could provide additional information if need be.

    Hi,
I found several similar threads in this forum. And many reasons are causing the same symptom. Such as IIS permission on specific folder, device moving from a collection to
    another.

  • Software Center shows "No items found"

    Hi,
Software Center is not updating the applications and shows "No items found". It is not showing the organization name too(instead IT Organization is displayed). Found that Configuration Manager in Control Panel shows only
"Machine policy & Retrieval cycle and User policy cycle".
Workaround: Tried to clean uninstall SCCM 2012 client and reinstalled it and initiated Machine policy & Retrieval cycle. Check after sometime but no luck.
Please guide how to work on this issue.

  • Software Center - Update stuck downloading

    Good morning
We have pushed a few updates out to a number of clients via SCCM but for some reason we have an update (KB2962407) which appears to be stuck in the Downloading stage. It's stuck at 50%.
I have manually downloaded this update and installed it to the clients but in Software Center it is still showing up 'Downloading (50%)
I know this update has now been installed.
Is there a way for me to make this disappear or see it as being installed?

    Hi,
Are you sure that the update in questions is distributed to the DP that the client use? Normally these issues are related to content not beeing available, boundary / boundary groups noty configured correctly.
Here is a blog post that explains log files and assists in the troubleshooting process.

  • Clients not showing apps in software center after update to CU4

I recently upgraded my SCCM2012 SP1 to CU4 in an effort to support our Macs some of which are running Mavericks. However, I have been noticing that many times when I do an OSD of a Windows computer one of a couple things will happen. If it is a computer
that is being re-imaged, it will only get a single app installed and no other apps will show up in Software Center. I also just today got a new computer and most of our apps are in SC but several are missing. They show up in the console as being deployed to
the machine in it's properties under Devices, but they just aren't getting to the computer. On the re-image computer many times I could just remove it entirely from SCCM then re-add it and it would work fine but with the new computer I'm at a loss as to what
to do. Has anyone else seen this behavior?

Is the device stuck in provisioning mode?  That would block it from getting client policy (among other things).
To check, see ProvisioningMode = True under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CCM\CcmExec registry key.
This usually happens if an unsupported update gets installed while in the task sequence:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2894518/en-us
You can fix a broken client with this PowerShell command:
    Invoke-WmiMethod -Namespace root\CCM -Class SMS_Client -Name SetClientProvisioningMode -ArgumentList $false
To keep them from breaking, use offline servicing to inject the updates into all of your images so they don't get installed during the task sequence.
    I hope that helps,
    Nash

  • Security updates takes long time to install through Software Center

    Hi Folks,
We have a setup with SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 as a Primary Site server where SUP also enabled. I deployed the windows security updates to the test servers collection by deployment type as Available.
I verified in test servers that all the deployed security updates are listed under Software Center client, but when I checked all the updates and tried to install. it is taking long time to install . Most of the time the updates are in “waiting to install”
status and finally ends up in failed state with error codes 0xc80003f3, 0x8007000e. Have verified all the logs windowsupdate.log, Updatesdeployment.log, WUHandler.log are points to the same error code. Found that multiple SVChost.exe process consumes more
    memory during patching process.
However we have enough physical memory(2 GB) and page memory( Min 2 GB to Max 4 GB) configured on the servers (Windows 2012 R2 SP1) .  Need some guidance in further troubleshooting...

Most of the servers managed by me today are having anywhere 2 - 4 GB RAM installed. How do one install the security patches through SCCM with this configuration?. Selecting more than 4 patches at the same time to install does gives memory errors.
I would suggest 4GB RAM for a modern Server OS e.g. WS2012R2 is simply too little memory.
There have been quite a lot of issues in recent months, relating to Software Updates, affecting WSUS and also ConfigMgr, e.g.

She has had it for about 6 months and this is the first time we have plugged it into the computer since then.  I can not exit out of itunes either.

If you still have the problem after retoring the iPOd to factory defaults/new iPod then The iPod is likely defective and replacement is required.  You can make an appoinment at the Genius Bar of an APple store or take it back to BestBuy if within warranty

  • Who initiate the security update in software center

    Friends,
How to find Who initiate the security update in software center. Some one lo-gin into server and initiate the security update in Software center ans reboot via software center in SCCM 2012 R2 . how i can find it(Who) in SCCM log file ???

That information is not logged in the log files. You're best chance would be to match the logon information (in the eventviewer) with the time that the server was restarted.

  • Force Installation of Available Updates in Software Center

I wanted to know if it is possible in SCCM 2012 to set a deployment as "Available" so users can install applications/updates when it is convenient thru the Software Center.  Next I would like to set a deadline to automatically
change the deployment to "Required" to force the installation for those that have not performed the installation?  Is this possible or will I have to make the change from Available to Required manually?

I think you have this sorted now, but as mentioned by narcoticoo, you set the update deployment as *required* but until the deadline actually hits, the updates are simply available.

I'm installing software that will require a reboot. I would like to use the Windows Update dialogue box to prompt users to reboot.

Does anyone know of a way to use the System Center Client notification or the Windows update box to force a reboot. This is familiar to my users and will not freak them out

  • Clusters available in update components software library

    Hi Experts,
How do the Solaris patch clusters available in the update components software library compare to the Critical Patch Update cluster released by Oracle? The clusters available in OC seem to reflect more than one per month. I’m not used to dealing with patch clusters in this way as before using OC; we’d manually apply patches to our servers using the latest recommended Critical Patch Update available for download on MOS which are released quarterly.
    Thanks,
    DJC

    @ytheekshana
Since the update is just being rolled out, you will need to use PCC or Bridge for Mac, this is based on other updates on other phones, there isn't an specific date as to when it'll be released OTA.
