Solman_setup conflguration logs

Hello,
I have a question regarding Solman_setup.
We have performed Solman_setup on our Solution Manager system without any problem but forget to tale a screen shoots of all the steps for documentation purpose. How or where can we find this logs?
Best Regards
Niclas

Hello Niclas Glenneholm
The steps performed in SOLMAN_SETUP generate logs after you perform them. You can check in the same screen that you executed the task. For example, in step 7 of Basic Configuration, a huge log is created with the output of all performed tasks.
I believe that you can check the logs in transaction SLG1 too. This is the application log and I believe that the logs are stored in this transaction too.

  • SOLMAN_SETUP LOG

    Hi,
I'm trying to locate on the servers file system if a log or summary file is generated when SOLMAN_SETUP is ran?
Almost like a summary.htm after you run a import or export of a system,
Or like a summary.xml file created on the file system after running the ctc-wizard in PI, it details each step in the wizard that was choosen, what users were created, roles, attaching users to roles, etc.
Does a file like this exist for the solman_setup? Like a behind the scenes actions it performed?

    Hi Joshua,
When you execute solman_setup you will see log with in the same screen bottom pane(window) for each step. hope this helps.

Are you using a separate BW?? if so, check this note: Note 1599056 - SOLMAN_SETUP: change roles of SMD_BI_RFC on separate BW.
    Otherwise check security guide (https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000482312011E.PDF):
    Have a look at Page 182, 183
    Role Assignment to User SMD_BI_RFC
    Assigned Role        Remarks
SAP_BI_E2E          ABAP authorization role, full authorization for Java stack
Regarding the roles of SOLMAN_ADMIN user check the same guide, section 11.8.2 Configuration and Administration User SOLMAN_ADMIN

    Diego.

  • SOLMAN_SETUP - managed system configuration

I am attempting to use the SOLMAN_SETUP transaction to establish the managed system connections to my ABAP ECC systems.  I enter the required user/password info and execute it.  I get one error message in the log that says "Cannot get fully qualified name of the server as400q3".  The as400Q3 server is the host where the managed system resides.  I do not know where to fix this issue.
    Best regards,
    Russ

    Hi ,
You have to mention it in Txn. SMSY- Server->as400q3->Fully qualified host name.
Also, Please make sure the host file entries are maintained correclty on your solman server.
    Hope this helps.
Kindly revert if you face any issues.
    Thanks,
    Jagan

  • Solution Manager 7.1 SP4: Session Timeout during SOLMAN_SETUP

    Hello Experts,
We recently installed Solution Manager 7.1 SP4 on Linux/Oracle. We also completed the System Preparation and Basic Configuration part of the SOLMAN_SETUP wizard as well (which includes applying the Central Correction Note and other steps).
During the Managed System Setup Part, as soon as we click on the Configure System for a managed system - a new window opens up and immediately we get the below timeout messages:
This session will terminate due to inactivity in 0:00 minutes
To continue working in this session, choose 'Continue Session'
The above is immediately followed by the actual session timeout message:
This session terminated due to inactivity.
    Click Close Popup
or to start new session, press F5.
Now even if we press F5/Refresh, the same cycle repeats.
I already checked the ICM timeout parameters as mentioned in the Guide and further findings with regards to ITS update as in thread WEBGUI Timeout immediately after logging in
Applying the latest kernel patch also did not help. The strange issue is that the session timeout occurs only the LMDB related services, wherease normal services like WEBGUI etc work fine.
Please suggest if anyone came across this issue, especially after update to SP04.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srikishan

    Hi,
Thanks, I will check the note steps and close this thread accordingly.
Perhaps I need to hone my notes searching skills !

  • SOLMAN_SETUP transaction

I've just installed Solution Manager 7.0 EhP 1 on a Windows server with MS SQL Server 2005.
The install went fairly smoothly (only a coulple of memory issues), although my practise server does not have a Fully Qualified Domain Namae (FQDM) or a connection to SAP to be able to download correction notes, patches, etc.
My questions is related to traying to set it up, with transaction SOLMAN_SETUP. When I first tried I received the SYSTEM_SHMCONSTR_LOGON_FAILED short dumps. I found note 1318269 that helped me start a web dynpro application that started the shared memory.
But now when I run the transaction SOLMAN_SETUP, I get to a log on screen but it doesn't recognize the user. After 3 tries I get the I get the Error "Client, name, or password is not correct; log on again" message.
I've already logged onto the system (SAP GUI) with this user to run the transaction, so it seems a little funny to me.
Any suggestions on where to look or how to fix this problem?
    Ken

Hi Ken, a little late answer, but anyway...
When running the TA= SOLMAN_SETUP You're calling a webdynpro. And as You and others in this thread are aiming at, You need to have FQDN for Your host to be able to run webdynpro's.
You can have a further look into this link at SAP Help: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_tm70/helpdata/en/67/be9442572e1231e10000000a1550b0/content.htm
and also "note 654982 - URL requirements due to Internet standards".
However, You can try a little trick on Your host file by adding a dummy domain like "<solmanserver>.acme.local" and point it to Your Ip-adress. And also adding the FQDN in SAPLOCALHOST, SAPLOCALHOSTFULL and icm/host_name_full in RZ10. Also remember to add it to your own hostfile on the client you're logged on with SAPGUI. It might just solve Your problem. Have a go!

  • SOLMAN_SETUP issue

    Dear experts,
i have updated my solution manager into EHP1 SP21 (abap + java) via spam/saint + jspm.
Now, i'm trying to make the initial configuration via transaction code SOLMAN_SETUP:
    1/ i have created SOLMAN_ADMIN user + initial password + repeat initial password + ZSAP_SOLMAN_ADMIN authorization
    2/ Abap configuration setup successfull
3/ J2ee configuration : when login with SOLMAN_ADMIN + initial password, it does not work.
Q1/ How could i resolve it?
4/ i tried to connect with j2ee_admin and it works : the initial client for abap instance is 001 but the user SOLMAN_ADMIN do not exists on this client.
Q2/ Is there any SAP official document to manage this configuration?
thank you very much for your help.
    Any suggestion is welcomed.
    Best regards,
    Pascal.

    Hello Gyan,
currently, i need to log with the user SOLMAN_ADMIN but the initial password i have set do not work.
    Pascal.
Edit: i have check on the user administration and the user SOLMAN_ADMIN do not exists but it does on the ABAP system.
Do i have to create this user on the user administration (was java)? what authorizations do i have to affect? I though the initial configuration has created SOLMAN_ADMIN.

  • Solman_setup problem

    Hi,
I am doing the inital configuration in solution manager 7.0 EHP1 from the t-code solman_setup.
I completed the initial configuration already.
Now i started the t-code solman_setup from the user solman_admin.
It asks (everytime) to activate the Web Dynpro services and i give Yes.
Then i select the basic configuration and click "change" and then click continue.
I am at the 3rd step (Installation check), i completed the step Execute all.
Now when i click "continue", it throws the following error.

    Hi Nibu,
I have checked the parameter and it is configured correctly.
    and
    Hi Paul,
This is wat i got in ST22
    Runtime Errors         OBJECTS_OBJREF_NOT_ASSIGNED
    Exception              CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL
    Date and Time          04.06.2010 07:49:51

Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
    What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "CL_WDR_CONTEXT_NODE_MAP=======CP" had to be
          terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
         administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was not
          caught in
procedure "IF_WD_CONTEXT_NODE~IS_ALIVE" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by
          RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
         access a component (variable: "ME->MAPPEE").
An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
before it can be used to access components. Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
    CLEAR statement.

  • Solman_setup and central&local solution manager SLD

    Hello,
I'm configuring our solution mananger system with transaction solman_setup. The local SLD of the solution manager will also be the central SLD of all our systems. After finishg the basic configuration in solman_setup, and go to "managed system configuration", I  can only see the only solution manager system, as ABAP and as JAVA, but no more systems (right, as I haven't defined more systems).
I cannot create more ABAP  system with the link "maintain technical systems", the ABAP option when I select create isn't there.
If I create another type of system as a test, for example, third party, the transaction SMSY can see this new system, but the SLD in http://<my_solution_manager_system>:50000/sld doesn't show this new system at all.
Where must I create the systems? and how can I connect the SLD and the SMSY transaction? Should I "add SLD" at the Administration in http://<my_solution_manager_system>:50000/sld and put the suolution manager itsefl system?
Thanks in advance for your help and best regards,
    Ana

    Hi,
To ensure a system is registering into the SLD and synchronising with SMSY, go to transaction RZ70 and define the Host and Service.
Also, set up a user for accessing the SLD in transaction SLDAPICUST. The user has to exist in the Java stack to log into the SLD.
Also ensure your RFCs are correctly set up for LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI as per this link:
    https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/docs/DOC-37953?treeid=DOC-7936
Then use transaction SLDCHECK to ensure your connection is working.
Finally enable SLD synchronisation into SMSY by transaction SMSY > Goto > Setup System Landscape Maintenance. Define the same host and port of your SLD and schedule the data transfer.
This should pick up the system once the landscape_fetch background job executes into SMSY.
You can use this approach for all your managed systems and is the most logical way to connect systems to the SLD.

    -Rohan

  • No Activation log for piece list AI_CUSTOMZING

    hi all
i am trying to activate ChaRM for my project . when running the checks from the " Change Management log " . i am getting the below warnings . when i check the piece list activation from solman_setup , its showing green . so confused.
Please help here to resolve these warning
    Thanks
    Sol man
Note : i had already checked most of the blogs and nothing helps to resolve the issue

    Hi,
For the old requests that you don't want and that are not valid, goto the monitor for those and mark them red. After that you won't face any problems while activating the new requests.
The reason this is happening is that during activation BW thinks that these old requests are valid as they are green and tries to activate them as they are in squence. When it dosen't find them then it gives the error. If you mark them red, they are ignored and the next request is taken into consideration.
    Cheers,

  • Job management setup using Solman_setup

I want to implement job management via Solution manager but if I go to SPRO or Job Management via SOLMAN_SETUP no help or program guidance is displayed. Both my Solman systems are patched to 7.1 stack 10 wit the latest notes applied.
If action to check prerequisites is performed - it either does nothing or aborts after 10sec.
Similar when trying to configure in SPRO - when selecting activate services no list is provided etc
    Solman_setup -> Job Management:
    Any suggestions welcome!

    Hi Jan,
I checked in my system, the same the initial step1  is not given any output log, seems its a bug. not sure what exactly this step doing
But after the execution of the step, the job *JSM_PRE_CHECK* completed successfully, so you can check, if the job completed, you proceed for next step.
moreover these are the pre requestie for job scheduling management, so you can refer the below for documentation and need to finish for JSM
Do refer here also Job Scheduling Management - SAP Solution Manager - SAP Library
    Thanks

  • SAP message Log

Does SAP maintain log of all the messages displayed on screen using MESSAGE statement?
We are investigating a problem and want to see the messages displayed by SAP during the time when problem occured.

We have custom development for picking and confirmation. Last week we found that in some deliveries there is difference in delivered quantity and packed quantity.
Custom development is calling sap-standard FMs. Problem occurs randomly, roughly 10 deliveries in a week has this problem.
We are still trying to investigate the reason that is causing the problem.
Custom program does display the message to user if FM raise any message. We asked user of they are getting any message while picking, and if they are ignoring it.
They just confirmed that they are getting message 'Packing Not Possible Since there is no Quantity to be Packed' and they did ignored this.

  • Botão de 'exibir logs' não aparece - NF 3.10

    Pessoal, boa tarde!
    Luis.
