CPM part of both exams are same, but why there is a difference in BPS part?
I am planning to take Strategic Enterprise Management - CPM & BPS with mySAP ERP 2004 certification exam, I am wondering what you know about these 2 exams? What topics should I focus on?

Hello Kaan,
the SEM 3.5 exam is simply based on an older version. You should take the mySAP ERP 2004 exam (or 2005 once this comes out). The BPS functionality has changed only marginally so it's not really a different, but it's nicer to have a recent certification of course

Clarification on concepts of mySAP ERP

Hi All,
This is Hussain - would be starting testing of the HCM module shortly. I am pretty new to SAP and the forums as well, i have been referring to the book SAP in 24hrs by George W.Anderson and Danielle Larocca to learn more about SAP.
The Hour 11's discussion on SAP ECC and R/3 seems a bit confusing though, i was clear on the fact of the evolution of SAP R3 -> R/3 Enterprise and -> ECC, and also about the fact that ECC utlizes ESA etc. But the section mySAP ERP states the business processes as mySAP ERP Financials, Operations, Human Capital Management and Corporate Services while the core SAP business modules include FI, TR, CO, SD, MM, PA, PA-PD etc.. I am unable to interpret the relationship between these business processes and modules, any help (links/documents/references) would be appreciated.
Can anyone name a couple of books to understand/learn/practice SAP HCM??

Dear Venkat,
note 391846 is also valid for ERP600.
This modification is not part of the SAP Standard Release 600. It's also in 600 a modification.
If you want this function you have to implement the note again in your actual release.

This is the history and over view of SAP why companies are going for SAP because inter module and intra module integration is there , Eg Salaries are paid in HR they will be posted to FI & CO via integration and there is no duplication of entries.

No partial marking exists in the new pattern now.
You wll have to mark ALL the correct options in order to gain that one full mark for a question.
And yes, pass marks is 55%. You are right.

For Functionality Differences pls refer to the below site -

After opening the site, please select the Source Release Version which is 4.6 b Then Select the Target Release Version which is "mySAP ERP 2005" or ECC 6.0
Select the Solution Area like Financials, Human Capital Management, Sales....
Select module like MM, PP, SD, QM.....
Click on Search
Then it displays the Release Version and the Delta Functionality. which can be downloaded to a word document if required.
and also check the release notes of ECC 6.0 in service.sap.com.

E-Commerce for mySAP ERP: Problem with java source code

Hello everybody,
we try to implement web shops on the basis of ECO for ERP 5.0. The shop is running fine and we want to start with some extensions in java classes and web UI with NWDI 2004s.
We created a new track and our own application as described in "Development And Extension Guide". We need to extend some of the original java classes for the b2b scenario and of course the user interface.
We got the information from SAP, that the original java classes are not intended
to be modified by customers and therefore it is not intended to create a project with NWDI that contains that source code. But we should be able to create own DCs and copy the source code into it and then modify them on own risk.
We tried to do that, but always got errors.
Due to customer requirements we have to make some modifications otherwise we can not use this solution.
If there is anybody who has already some experience with this topic we
would be very glad to get some hints.

I am sorry, but I am no technical consultant, but I am have to change
the already installed application for our customers.
Nethertheless I try to give you some information I have. I had a look at SAP note 883948 you mentioned. The software components which are listed under XECO are the software components which contain the E-Commerce Application. You also find them in the "Development and Extension Guide".
There are some guides under http://service.sap.com/instguides -> mySAP Business Suite Solutions -> mySAP ERP -> mySAP ERP 2005 -> Installation. In the document "SAP E-Commerce for mySAP ERP: Business Scenario Configuration Guide" there is a table of the needed components on a high level.
From the view of the application you need the E-Commerce application itself, the TREX for searching in the product catalog, the IPC if you want to have price calculation in the shop or configuration of products with optional components.

Installation mySAP ERP 2005 on Linux SuSe 10

Hello,
I tried to install mySAP ERP 2005 on Linux Suse 10 with 8 GB RAM and enough harddisk space (6 x 250 GB) as a central system. But the Installations stops always in the "Import Abap" step with jobs:
running 3 , wating 22 , completed 13, failed 0 , total 38
No errors are written to the logfiles and there is no progress in the installation, so I have to stop it manually.
Can anyone help me?

Interactive Forms - Printing in mySAP ERP

Dear All.
    As far i Know, in the version ECC 5.0 some SmartsForns have been suffers a migrations to Interactive Forms. As far has i know in the release ECC 6.0 all the Smartforms and the old Sapscript will be convert to Interactive Forms. Is this Correct?
     Where can i find information about this Topic (Use off Interactive Forms/Smartforms in ECC 6.0).
     Is the Interactive Form the new methodo to Print? I think it will be, but a need a confirmation.

Hi Pedro,
the few PDF-based forms shipped in mySAP ERP 2004 (ECC 5.0) are samples only for customers to familiarize themselves with the technology. As it states in SAP Note 735050, these are not for use in production.
In mySAP ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0), SAP ships about 900 PDF-based forms for printing. For existing forms, the Smart or SAPscript form is still shipped with ERP 2005, and it continues to be the default setting for this release. (If you wish to use the Interactive Forms technology, you need to specify this in the application customizing.) Some new forms are shipped based only on the Adobe technology.
The current plan is to ship only PDF-based forms with the next release of mySAP ERP.
While it is SAP's strategy to eventually only ship form templates in PDF, you will continue to be able to choose the forms technology you want to use as Smart Forms and SAPscript will continue to be supported. In mySAP ERP 2005, the performance of PDF-based forms shipped by SAP in some cases is not equal to the legacy solutions. Especially for very high-volume printing requirements, Smart Forms or SAPscript may still be a better choice, but it is not possible to make a general recommendation on this as it all depends on the complexity of the individual form and the number of print-outs.
It is important to note that to take advantage of all performance features in ERP 2005, you will need a double-stack installation (Java and ABAP on the same box).

Error in Accessign mySAP ERP from SAP WAS J2ee Engine

Hi all,
I have installed some applications on SAP WAS Java System SP17. When i am trying to access the mySAP ERP system from that Application, it is giving the following error
>(103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: System received an expired SSO ticket
My ERP and WAS are on different Windows Domains. I have SSO and done the trust configurations and imported the Certificate on to mySAP ERP. I also increased the Lifetime of the SAP Logon ticket, but that also didnt work. In one of the documents i found that both the systems need to be in the same OS time.
1. How can i bring my ERP server and WAS on to same OS time?
(net time/set does not work since these machines are in different domains)
Or is there some other solution to this problem,Please help me

as long as the timezones are maintained correctly, the time DISPLAYED may be different, again it is GMT, which is required to be in sync. Looking at IST, do you mean Indian, Israelien or Irelend stadnard time ? (see <a href="http://www.timegenie.com/timezones.php">a list of timezones</a> for details). In any case, 4 hours seams odd to me, should be either
India: 4:30 hour
Ireland: 1 hour
Israel: 1 hour
can you please make sure, your systems are synced to GMT somehow, for instance using timeservices ?
From your name, I would guess you might sit in India, in which case at least one of your system is misconfigured (timewise) if they are 4 hours away.
Countries today 4 hours away from CET would either be

You can use all function groups, remote functions, BAPI and XML messages about 10,000 to 20,000 as Web Services providers. There are wizards, which create Web Services in very short time.
NW WSA has about 300-500 WS in MySAP and R/3. All documentation is at help.sap.com websites.
You can prepare and structure your company for ESA pilot project and later to deploy ESA to all your company business areas and business processes by using SAP Solution Composer.
In this way you can significantly improve your company result - may be 30% ?
