Solution Manager BPR

Does the SolMan-BPR-ARIS-Integration (http://www.ids-scheer.com/en/ARIS/ARIS_Platform/ARIS_Business_Architect_for_SAP/3743.html ) use an interface open to the public? If yes, were can I finde some more information about it.
Thanks a lot in advance!
Regards,
Ronald

Hi,
yes, this runs all through JCo. But sapjco3.jar is not yet supported by IDS Scheer only the 2 versions. You get [the JCo Download|https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000719346&] at the SAP Marketplace, if you own a SAP Login . Here is a  [DOS-Java JCo (2.1.8) screenshot|http://www.fahrrad-kleuskens.de/ARIS-SAP-JCO-DOS.JPG] which shows a connection to a SAP Server. This is the  [sourcecode|http://www.fahrrad-kleuskens.de/ARIS-SAP-JCO-DOS-Java.JPG]  for the above example.
If you do not have an ARIS Business Architect for SAP and no SAP System too at the local server, you can connect through the ARIS Business Server 7.1 in every ARIS Database and from there in every SAP System you want.
I added a [ARIS BS 7.1 - VPN Handout|http://www.aris-user.de/aris/viewtopic.php?p=4722#4722] at IDS Scheer:
You can see here a [JCo Connection to SolMan screenshot|http://www.fahrrad-kleuskens.de/ARIS-SAP-JCO1.JPG]  . And in the second  [JCo Connection to ERP ECC6 screenshot|http://www.fahrrad-kleuskens.de/ARIS-SAP-JCO2.JPG] you see the function name, which you can for example use in SAP ERP ECC6 to be connected to ARIS. If you implement this function Z_SOLAR_READ_INSTALLED_COMPS in SAP ERP ECC6 correctly, you can connect ARIS even with ECC6 .
I did a little test. I implemented a test function in SAP ERP ECC6 with the function name Z_SOLAR_READ_INSTALLED_COMPS,
which I added to the function group Z_SP_FUNCTION.
After that I called the SAP ERP ECC6 System from Aris through JCo with the standard menu in ARIS ... and I got a result. Now the [ARIS JCo Function in ERP ECC6 |http://www.fahrrad-kleuskens.de/ARIS-SAP-JCO3.JPG] is found
So I rest with the best regards

  • Solution Manager BPR issues

    Goodday,
Since there is no specific Solution Manager forums yet i will post my question here:
We are working with Solution Manager 3.2 to support an implementation of MySAPERP 2004. Within the SM there is the functionality to use the Business Process Repository to create your business process and automatically get the IMG objects (configuration tab)and transactions when selecting a process.
Currently our BPR content is ICO 150 so the newest one currently available. But when we start the BPR we see processes for SRM,CRM,R/3 4.6c,R/3 4.7 and more. We see very little specifically for ECC 5.0
I was told that the current 150 content does not contain all processes for ECC 5.0 yet. I would like to get a confirmation of this and would like to know if the 160 content (release march i believe) will have all the content.
Secondly i am wondering if there is a way to limit what people see in the BPR. Our config team is very confused on which process to select since every process exists multiple times.
Thirdly i would like to know when there is no ECC 5.0 process available should you then just use the available 4.7 or 4.6 process.
Thank you very much for your help

    Hello,
as this is an 'old' topic (from January), I am kindly asking you to tell me how did you solve the problem?
I am interested in BPR content as part of Solution Manager. We also see processes for SRM,CRM,R/3 4.6c,R/3 4.7 and more. We see very little specifically for ECC 5.0
I also would like to know if ICO 150 or 160 packages have the content or is there another way you solved the problem.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Nikolina

  • Solution Manager BPR and ESR

I believe that SM documents business processes in the Business Process Repository while there is also the Enterprise Services Repository. Is there a link between the two? For using CE to orchestrate new business processes, I suspect it needs the business processes documented too. Does the BP's need to be documented in two places or is there a single repository shared? Leads to any info or documentation will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Solution manager BPR for ECC EHP4

    Hi All,
Is there a business process repository that includes EHP4 functionality?
In my company we want to build a template for QM processes, with EHP4 there is some new functionality offered and we would like to pull this information from the BPR into our template project to then evaluate with the business if this would be useful or not.
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
You can check all the up-to-date content of the BPR structure delivered by ST-ICO in the following URL:

  • Import of Solution Manager reference data to ARIS

    Hi all,
I would like to import SAP Solution Manager data to ARIS.
Is it possible to perform that simply importing a SolMan file including reference data to ARIS or do we need to create an interface between SolMan and ARIS?
We would like to do this in the most simple way as possible since it is for demo purposes only.
So if you have any idea please let me know.
    Thanks,
    //Anders

    Anders,
I have done similar demos in the past. based on my experience I am giving a quick step by step procedure for doing this.
Create Project in SAP Solution Manager and define system landscape by choosing the
SAP components based on the selected scenarios.
(ii) Analyze and Select the content from the Solution Manager BPR based on the
    finalized Scenarios/Processes.
(iii) Establish a Project Database on the ARIS Server and merge the As-Is Scenario/Process
from the existing ARIS DB into this.
(iv) Synchronize Solution Manager Project with ARIS and establish the link between
    ARIS Project DB and SolMan.
    (v) Perform analysis of the As-Is Process in conjunction with selected scenarios from Solution
Manager reference content and define the structure and scope.
(vi) Align the As-Is Process with the Reference Framework from Solution Manager and
    add/delete steps as required.
(vii) The Business process architecture is adapted to the SAP Reference Content aligned to the
structural layers of Solution Manager (Scenario, Process and Process Step).
(viii) Synchronize the Business flows created in ARIS  with Solution Manager and update
    structure on both ends.
Hope this helps you. Let me know if you need anyother information.

  • About solution manager and RBE

    hi,
I am supposed to integrate RBE (Reverse Business engineering) with SAP ECC 5.0. and i don't know abt RBE as well as solution manager so please give me step by step guidline that what procedure i have to follow for this.
and aslo tell me is it neccasary to integrate SM befor integrating RBE. and if yes then also give me step by step guidline for integrating SM.
    thanks in advances,
    regards,
    Hardik.

    Hi Hardik,
there are some companies that offer a services to analyze
an R/3 or ECC system with the RBE tool and bring the result in Solution Manager as a project. If the RBE analysis is based on Solution Manager BPR content (ST-ICO), the project will have all content (documents, IMG activities) that have been maintained by SAP in BPR.
Since RBE is currently not delivered any more (see note 910687) such services may be the only way to do this.
I know the following services for Solution Manager and RBE:
    <a href="http://www.solutionmanager.ch/">http://www.solutionmanager.ch/</a> and
    <a href="http://www.ibis-thome.com/">http://www.ibis-thome.com/</a>

  • Customized BPR load to Solution Manager

    Hi
We are trying to upload self built industry solution BPR into the solution manager system. One generic which we built, next one is we filtered as per client requirement.
After loading we want to use these 2 BPR alongwith SAP BPR. Do we see any impact due to using these 3 BPR for same project?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
1.Refer to SAP notes from the following link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/3e/9f9a7b95c811d384bb0060975b04f3/content.htm
    2.Dowload the language from SMP
3.Execute Report RSCPINST and add new language
4.Update the parameter zcsa/installaed_languages with new language with rz10
    5.Finally continue with SMLT.

  • How to downloadin Business Process Repository in Solution Manager?

    Hello,
Does anybody know how to download whole Business Process Repository from solution manager?
I know how to download BPR, that are related to project, to excel file, but I want to download all the scenarios, processes are inbuilt to the Solution Manager business blueprint.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks,
    Mahantesh

    Hello Mahantesh,
I suppose that your idea behind this question is that you would like to browse the contents of the BPR. For this specific pupose, SAP will deliver a new web dynpro application with SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SP 12 and the respective stack coming out mid June 2007 which allows you to browse all BPR contents in your SAP Solution Manager system. So you no longer have to create a seperate project and select the contents via F4 value help in SOLAR01 in order to access the contents.
For further updates, please check the news mid June:
    <a href="http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager">http://service.sap.com/solutionmanager</a>
Media Library -> Technical Papers. It will probably be called: "4.0 Support Package Stack <latest stack> [probably stack 12]"
However, please note that an individual download of the entire or partial BPR structures into MS Excel will not be possible.
    Best regards,

  • Documentation of non ABAP transactions in SAP Solution Manager

    Hello
In our implementation project, we will implement solutions using Java Web Dynpro, Web Dynpro and BSP Applications. We want to document these solutions using the transaction tab in SOLAR01/02.
Does anyone know whether there is a best practice or standard method for identifying the different elements? I see that for example the Java Web Dynpro shall be documented using the fields:
    Text
    Application name
    Parameter list
I have tried to search on help.sap.com and on sdn.sap.com for guidelines or a documentation standard, but without any success. I checked the BPR, but I see that the Web Dynpros that are documented there follow different standards.
I really appreciate any input on this topic.
    Best regards from Knut

    Hi,

You should created this user in working client.

    > One set document which I saw talks about the configuration using RZ21 and other document discuss about Configuration using System Monitoring Work Center, which one do we need to follow, are both methods are 2 different options doing the same thing, can you please clarify?
    >
You can use RZ21 or System monitoring through work center. From Solution manager 7.1, you need to use work center only. So, I would suggest you to use work center only.

  • Blueprint structure in Solution Manager

    Dear all,
We are in the process of finalising a Blueprint structure in Solution Manager. As this is the first solution manager is being used in BW specific project we are a bit confused on the way we can structure the Blueprint. When i say the structure i mean, what all to be part of the Blueprint Business scenarios in SOlution manager. As solution manager asks a particular way of structuring it please help me.
    Regards

In SAP's BPR, BI is used as a process in a scenario not as it's own scenario.
For instance there is a Service Desk Scenario in the BPR, and there is a process called BI Reporting in this scenario. It is further broken down into the steps:  Select Data for Analysis, Schedule Reporting, Schedule Process Chains, Edit the BI-Report and Analyze Data.
I've seen people create scenarios called Reporting or BI with all the reports in this node, however, this scenario isn't as reuseable. Meaning you''ve lost the link between your Scenario, such as Service Desk, and the reports that support the the Service Desk.

  • BPH in Solution Manager

I am new to this area. Here I have 3 question:
    1. How I can download one of the BPH from BPR? So that it can be seen in the Project Admin-> Scope-> Template selection.
    2. I have a created a BPH in form of xls fromat, how we can upload to the system so that it can be visible in Project Admin-> Scope-> Template selection
    3. Where to see Business Process Repository in SAP Solution Manager? means transaction or step to follow?
Thanks in advnace for your help

    Hi Deejoy,
The BPH is how your project/solution is defined in SAP Solution Manager SOLAR01/SOLAR02.
To edit this, go to SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN and create a new project, in your case if you want a new template project.
Then in SOLAR01, you can begin to design your BPH and use the BPR to assist with this.
The BPH is based on Project, business scenario, business process and business steps.
You can design this manually and use the F4 function to search within the BPR against a business scenario/process.
It is not possible to import from an .xls format.
To be clear, to view the BPR, go to transaction SOLAR01 after you have defined a new project, open the project and against a scenario, choose F4 to browse the BPR.
    Regards,
    -Rohan

  • Business Process Repository in Solution Manager

My question on the BPR is two-fold:
    1) Where exactly is the file located in the marketplace to update the BPR for Solution Manager 4.0? I've looked and I've searched and have been unsucessful in finding it?
    2) From the current BPR in Solution Manager is it possible to extract the data there into a csv, txt or xls file? I've seen another thread in the forum on extraction (a link was provided) and unfortunately the link that was provided did not hold the information required to answer this particular question?

The BPR is contained in software component ST-ICO 150_700. Check the schedule: <a href="http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000595040&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700005273772003E">Support Package Schedule - SAP Solution Manager</a>

  • Synchronizing Solution Manager and Process Diagrams

    Dear all,
I have a question around the creation of process models in Aris (Enterprise Modeling from IDS Scheer) based on the information in Solution Manager.
Will all Z* transactions also be copied across when the Solution Manager content is copied across into Aris?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Lisa Howdle

    Hi Lisa,
when you assign your Z* transactions in a Solution Manager Project before you check the scenarios out to ARIS they will. If you just copy BPR content they wont.

Do you want to implement CRM 7.0 with the help (project, Business Blueprint, Configuration) of a SAP Solution Manager system?
If yes, you can browse through the [Available implementation content|https://implementationcontent.sap.com/bpr]
The content is shipped via add-on ST-PI and its support packages.
    Relevant transactions: SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN, SOLAR01, SOLAR02

  • Lotus Notes documents migration into Solution Manager

We have been using Lotus notes application for maintaining only documentation in our landscape. But now, the plan is to move all the documentation from Lotus notes to SAP Solution Manager and use it as a document management system from now....
Could anyone please answer the following queries:
    1) Does LSX environment help/enhance the migration ?. If not, are there any tools/accelerators/functions/automatic methods for mas uploading?
    2) This documentation is not project specific documentation. Where do you think this must go in Solution Manager?
In the custom area of BPR?. If yes, please do let me know the procedure for the same.
    3) Would it be possible to link the documents to functional domains/ business scenarios/ business processes in the BPR?
    4) Lotus notes provides access to all the versions (Draft/Approved/Reviewed) of a document. Would it be possible to have the same features even in Solution Manager?
    5) What all document types does Solution Manager recognize?.
I think the Lotus notes documents can be converted to 'Word' format and then put in Solution Manager. Besides this, is there any other common format which is recognized by both the tools?
    6) Standard SAP Solution manager does not provide indexed search. So, in order to retrieve a document later what indexing nomenclature/guidelines do you recommend?
Has anyone done/faced with this kind of requirement. The idea now is to use Solution manager as a document management system. The efforts/process/timelines information if already known would be of great help to start with for us....
Could you also provide the trade offs b/n Solution Manager and SAP knowledge warehouse (KW)?
    Hoping for some replies ...

we also had the same requirement to migration from LN to SolMan Documentation base but there is no such tool (yet?)
What you can do you can migrate from any ARIS like platform to SolMan:
    http://en.sap.info/ids-scheer-announces-migration-program-to-aris-platform/4058
You do have versioning in SolMan and you can upload any kind of document via SOLAR01
regarding the indexing you can either use SAP SES or connect TREX, this is documented in the customizing (SPRO)
TREX will also be the prerequisite to make use of KM in SolMan
