Solution Manager - initial configuration

Lance,
I apologize before hand, I think I am missing something simple or I am clueless right now, Here is my situation-
I am walking through the IMG steps of setting up solution Manager. I already in have in place the SNC SAProuter connection operational to SAP.
SAPOSS connection is confirmed working.
I have gone to Tx DSWP, maintained the S- user for SAP support, and it connects and logs on, also re-entered the password and saved it to make sure it is working.
I have made sure the user I am using has the sap_suppdesk_admin role
When I go to SPRO and select initial configuration, it creates the admin and communication users, however when I put in the S-ID which I have it comes back with the following error message
“error creating communication to SAP Service and Support”
If I go to Tx SLG1, I get the error below
"read the documentation about the function module" SR (RFC Utilities)
Now I have done the same steps in client 001 and 100 which I created from 000 and user auth from 001.
I am just not able to get it to connect, the one thing I know is when I go to Tx AISUSER, I can put in a user but no contact person (s-id), I see a no. of posts in the forum about this but I do not believe that’s my issue as that step is a 2 or 3 items below where I am right now.
i have the latest patches ST 400 0011
any ideas welcome

E::000 basically means that the system is trying to show an error message "000" from a specific error message set. This problem is caused by a program error. If the authorization check fails, no relevant error message is displayed.
have you created any system by the name SM1 in SMSY?

Rajeev

Now I have created a new maintenance project, I´ve configured everything, when I check it, I get two errors:

    Message no. /TMWFLOW/TRACK_N806
No track for project DF_SOLMAN1 with log. system A36/200
    Message no. /TMWFLOW/CM_CHECK038
I noticed that this thread is pretty old already but I bumped into similar error messages and in the end it was caused by a TMS route configuration that didn't match the configuration of the logical component that was in use.
You can pretty easily verify this through SMSY. Navigate to your logical component there, select the line of the system assignment and click on Shipment Routes button. If you get an empty screen back, then your TMS transport route configuration doesn't match your logical component configuration.
For example, you've got DEV 100 - DEV 200 - PRD 100 for a CHARM demo landscape. If your TMS transport route configuration matches this but your logical component has DEV 100 assigned as Quality Assurance, then your configuration check for CHARM will fail because there is a mismatch.
When your configuration is correct, so both your TMS transport route as your Logical Component (system role assignment), then you should get a transport route configuration back (visible) after clicking Shipment Routes.

  • Solution manager charm configure

    hello everyone
i want to configure the charM scope with our R3 and BW at  two  domain .
    R3 landscape
                        DEV(101sandbox,201-develop,301-customizing ,800unit testing)
                        QAS(800- testing)
                        PRD(800-prduct)
tranport   from DEV TO QAS and delivery to PRD ,also you can export the object from  QAS to PRD for special .
    domain controller is PRD
    BW landscape BWD(client 100)--BWQ(client 880)BWP(client 880)
    domain controller is BWP
if we use the charM for manager the change requst ,how we configure  in all system for prepare the charM like the stms configure .
we notice our test system and prd system have same client number ,so it is ok for configure ?
    expect your help!
    thanks a lot!
    frank

    Hi,
1 QAS client and PRD client can be the same(need not to be different).
    2. Make sure that the system landscape you mention under system landscape tab of SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN should match with TMS configuration of Solution Manager.(This is very important).
You should create a maintenance project with system landscape DEV-201->QAS-200->PRD-200 using SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN. Repeat this step for BW also.
You need to configure TMS of Solution Manager in Client 000 as follows:
        SLM->DEV-201->(Consolidation Route)QAS-200->(Delivery Route)PRD-200
        SLM->BW-100->(Consolidation Route)BW-880->(Delivery Route)BW-880
No more document is required better than SPRO. Just follow this SPRO path to configure TMS:
    SPRO->SAP Solution Manager->Configuration->Scenario-Specific Settings->Change Management
->Change Request Management->Standard Configuration->Transport Management System(Read IMG activity of each step).
Let me know if you have aby issues.

  • Is there any service desk guide for Solution Manager 7 configuration?

    Dear Sir:
I would like to configure the service desk of solution manager 7.
but all i found documents are for solution manager 4.
the IMG setting and other steps are quite different...
wondering is there any new guide or step by step documents for specific solution manager 7?
    Regards
    Jack Lee

    hi,
There is no direct document which is that much specific
    Have you checked this document

U can follow the steps and if u dont find any node u cn search in SPRO
in solman 7 mainly all the activities are under the node SPRO->scenario-specific->service desk
    rest check this

  • Earllywatchreport - Solution Manager Diagnostics Configuration

    Hi gurus,
under "4.3 solutionmanager configuration", i got::
The number of Background Work processes for BI could not be checked from 'ABAP Host=xxx, old invalid hostname - source of systemcopy. Please advise, which setting is to update to avoid this message ?
    Thanks a lot in advance
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
    Try the following:
    1. Check the if password is correct in Visual Admin Tool -> JCO RFC Provider then the Webadmin one.
    2. Check the user definition for BI-user and BI-Admin referring to the following documentation.
    https://service.sap.com/diagnostics
    -> 'User Administration Guide'
    -> Chapter 2.3.5 and 2.3.6
After correcting 1 and 2, please run the 'Managed System Configuration' for the managed system.

  • Solution Manager (SP 10) Maintanence Optimizer

    Hi,
While configuring the Maintenance Optimizer, using the Activity "Activate Integration with Change Request Management" In the 1st activity list "Activate Change Request and Set - up Client by mistake i entered the wrong client id, and now it just doesnt let me change it.
Is there anyway that I can change it?
Also when I click on Maintanence Optimzer button, in Support Package and Stack Inbox I get the following error " Local logical system is not defined ". What does it mean? Is it because of the wrong client ID that i mentioned about above?
Any help on this will be much appriciated.
    Thanks,
    Vikram

    Transcation SPRO
IMG Activity -> Sap Solution Manager -> Initial Configuration ->
Solution Manager - > General Configuration -> Maintain Logical Systems
    Define Logical System
Add a unique ID and some name, then assign this logical system to the client you are using for Optimizer in the "Assign client to System.
I would suggest that you also do all the initial IMG activity step by step.

  • System monitoring configuration in solution manager EHP1

    Hi all
I am in a bit of fix
We have upgraded our solution manager devlopment to EHP1
Now I have added one system through SMSY in solution manager to configure system monitoring
I have generated all the RFC's,I have created the logical component and solution and assigned the system to the solution
When I check my solution it is looking fine
Now when I go within solution and click on the tab system monitoring
It shows me on the left hand side -> Set up system monitoring
when I click on Set up system monitoring on the left part of SAP screen, strangely it doesnt take me to the activation of screen monitoring,it just shows me the best practices documents on the right side but nothing more than that
I have checked many guides, blogs and SAP tutors anfd have followed them but strangely I am not been able to go to the screen for activating system monitoring
Are there any activities that need to be done after upgrading to EHP1?
Are there any services to be activated for system monitoring?
    Please advice
    Rohit

I'm not 100% sure that it is necessary, but it won't hurt.
Perhaps the essential adjustment you need for system monitoring is being done in there.
    It won't hurt

  • Configure Solution Manager for MS Word 2002

    Hi experts,
I am currently facing a problem when I want to create a business blueprint from the SOLAR01.
The MS Word document for the blueprint is created fine, but when I try to execute the macro it stops with error "library not found".
The reason is that "Microsoft Excel 12.0 Object Library" is not present on my PC. That is because I am using MS Office 2002 (where only version 10.0 of this library exist).
As far as I know the 12.0 Object library is part of MS Office 2007. I therefore presume that the Solution Manager is configured to create word documents for office 2007. So is there any possibility to configure it for office 2002?
Thanks a lot for all answers.
    Best regards,

  • Configure TMS in fresh installed Solution Manager system

    Hi Expets,
I have fresh Installed Solution manager. Configure TMS and now want to configure solution manger so that I can monitor all our SAP system from Solution manager. How I configure our SAP system in solution manager?
Also would like to know after TMS  implementation if we like to use ChaRM or CTS+ so what changes required in current TMS setting? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
No Deejoy, I provided you with how to resource to do the things you requested.
    TMS is transport Management System.
If you want to manage transports with an enhanced product CTS+ I provided the configuration guide.
If you want to implement ChaRM, I pointed you to the Wiki.
If you want to inegrate CTS+ with ChaRM, I also provided you with resources.
And lastly, I directed you to RKT-SOLMAN which can help you configure any aspect of Solution Manager.
But I do not see where I said to manage TMS on Satellite systems you need to implement ChaRM.
Charm was only raised, because you raised it in your question.
You have all the resouces you require to address everything you raised.
This is what is provided in my earlier reply.

  • Manage transports (without ChaRM) in Solution Manager?

    Hi,
How do I manage transports in target systems (ECC, APO, etc.) using Solution Manager. We have the Dev systems (ECC, APO) connected using RFC to Solution Manager. Configuration (SOLAR02) will be done using Solution Manager. So the question is - how do we manage transports (without ChaRM being present) using Solution Manager?
Any suggestions/recommendations? I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
Edited by: GiveMeFood on Sep 22, 2011 10:05 PM

    Hi,
One of the main features available with the Solution Manager is ChaRM. It has been introduced to basically deal with the diverse transports management and related control framework over the SAP lanscape. Having a Solution Manager and not using ChaRM defeats the purpose of installing a Solution Manager in the first place. A better approach would be to incorporate the features provided by the system.
In my opinion - you should configure ChaRM, else it would not make sense to have the SolMan in the landscape. You would start using one of the features which you already have !

  • Solution Manager Tab Maintenance

    Hi SDN'ers,
Could anyone tell me whether it is possible to add additional tabs to the Solution Manager Configuration view, apart from the standard tabs, Documentation, Testing, etc.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
I am able to show/hide these default tabs, but I need to add some extra tabs.
    Regards.
    FB.

    Hi all,
    Thanks for the information.
When looking at the blog: /people/issacnolis.ohasi/blog/2008/01/04/upgrade-sessions-whats-sap-solution-manager-maitenance-optimizer
It mentions that one would need to go to :
SPRO -> SAP Reference IMG -> SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Advanced Configuration -> Basic Settings -> SAP Solutin Manager System
    Under this are several items:
    -> General Settings
    -> HTTP Services
    -> Connection to SAP
    etc.
Where is the documentation to work with these items? My thoughts are that these need to be done before starting to configure the Maintenance Optimizer.
After the installation, ran the post-installation steps and all seemed to go well. The list of these items were not there (as part of the post-installation steps).
    TIA
