[SOLVED] Creating a font package for Ooolatex in libreoffice

Dear all,
I would like to pack up a font package for rendering latex equation in Libreoffice.
The relevant fonts are:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooolate … urce=files-
containing both ttf and otf fonts.
The aim is to use makepkg -s, pacman -U xxx route instead of copying by hand so that pacman can manage the fonts.
I have to admit that I have no experience in PKGBUILD. And would like some help for the correct PKGBUILD file and ttf-ooolatex.install file.
Here is what I have right now:
PKGBUILD
pkgname=ttf-ooolatex
pkgver=1.0
pkgrel=1
depends=('fontconfig' 'xorg-font-utils')
pkgdesc="custom fonts"
arch=('any')
source=(./$pkgname) -> I am not sure how to write the source line
install=$pkgname.install
build()
  mkdir -p $pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/ooolatex
  cp $srcdir/$pkgname/*.ttf $pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/ooolatex
  cp $srcdir/$pkgname/*.otf $pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/ooolatex
ttf-ooolatex.install
post_install() {
  echo -n "Updating font cache... "
  fc-cache -fs >/dev/null
-> not sure what to do with the mkfontscale and mkfontdirectory
  echo "done"
post_upgrade() {
  post_install
As you can see, I am trying to copy all fonts to /usr/share/fonts/ooolatex folder and do a
#  fc-cache -vf
in that folder.
Any help on writing the two files are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for helping.
For more details about ooolatex in arch linux
see
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ooolatex
I will be adding the relevant instruction once I figure out how to install the fonts using pacman.

I put together a PKGBUILD and .install for you. I'm not positive if it's totally correct and about the depends, but it seems to work. If someone else could look at it first, that would be great.
# Maintainer: pokpig <[email protected]>
pkgname=OOoLatexFonts
pkgver=4.0.0_beta
pkgrel=1
pkgdesc="A set of macros to provide latex support in OpenOffice."
arch=('any')
url="http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooolatex"
license=('GPL')
depends=('fontconfig' 'xorg-fonts-encodings' 'xorg-font-utils')
install=OOoLatexFonts.install
source=("http://sourceforge.net/projects/ooolatex/files/OOoLatex/OOoLatex-4.0.0-beta/OOoLatexFonts.zip")
build () {
cd "$srcdir"
install -d "$pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/TTF"
install -d "$pkgdir/usr/share/doc/$pkgname"
install -m644 *.ttf *.otf "$pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/TTF"
install -m644 README "$pkgdir/usr/share/doc/$pkgname"
md5sums=('dcfd6ab5750d89393a0002687b751c48')
and the .install:
# arg 1: the new package version
post_install() {
echo "Updating font cache... "
fc-cache -fs >/dev/null 2>&1
mkfontscale /usr/share/fonts/TTF
mkfontdir /usr/share/fonts/TTF
# arg 1: the new package version
# arg 2: the old package version
post_upgrade() {
post_install $1
# arg 1: the old package version
post_remove() {
fc-cache -fs >/dev/null 2>&1
mkfontscale /usr/share/fonts/TTF
mkfontdir /usr/share/fonts/TTF
hope that helps

    I am new to OVM SDK ..Please help me to understand how to create kernel devel package for OVM3.2.1 ?
    I tried below command "rpmbuild --rebuild kernel-uek...src.rpm" on my OEL5.9 machine. It throw few errors w.r.t KaBI checks fails.
    Is there hard rule to run above command only on OVM 3.2.1 SDK template ? I am going to try that now, but it will be good to know limitation/assumption on OVM 3.2.1.
    Is there any simplest method to get kernel devels/headers for OVM3.2.1 ?

    Thanks JB. It works like a charm. I earlier doubt the same, but real pain was to get gcc,rpm utils without ULN access. I used oel5_latest repo to get gcc and other supported utils. Everything works as expected.

  • Creating a Business Package for multiple Target Audiences

    Hi,
    I want to create a business package that will be certified later.  The required target audiences are Line Managers and Specialists.  From what I understand, a business package must be assigned to <i>one</i> of the following: Every User, Managers, or Specialists.  I take this to mean that we must create two separate Business packages if we want to support both Line Managers AND Specialists. Is this correct?
    Thanks,

    Hi Kenneth,
    the formal requirements in fact are "the business package must be located <u>in one</u> of the folders specified below. The user type assigned to the business package (Every User, Line Manager, or Specialist) during registration determines your choice."
    Anyhow, the certification is a process which primarily cares about correct namespaces, namespace usage etc.  So if from your point of view the business package only makes sense to be distributed as <i>one</i> package, just decide which of the terms in question will make most sense. Then put your complete content under this area.
    Hope it helps

  • [SOLVED] TeXLive: Installing font package and updating font map fails

    I am trying to install the newtx package, which is available here at CTAN [1].
    Since I don't want to mess with my TeXLive installation, I am trying to do that as a local user only.
    So I placed the package into ~/texmf/tex/latex/. , ran texhash on texmf/ to update my local ls-R, and so far everything works nicely; for example, the .sty files in that package can be seen:
    $ texhash texmf
    texhash: Updating /home/$USER/texmf/ls-R...
    texhash: Done.
    $ kpsewhich newtxmath.sty
    /home/$USER/texmf/tex/latex/newtx/newtxmath.sty
    Now, following the packages README [2], I need to update the my TeX font maps. Seems like 'updmap' is the right tool to do that for my user only:
    $ updmap --enable Map=ntx.map
    copy /etc/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg => /home/$USER/.texlive/texmf-config/web2c/updmap.cfg
    Config file: "/home/$USER/.texlive/texmf-config/web2c/updmap.cfg"
    dvips output dir: "/home/$USER/.texlive/texmf-var/fonts/map/dvips/updmap"
    pdftex output dir: "/home/$USER/.texlive/texmf-var/fonts/map/pdftex/updmap"
    dvipdfm output dir: "/home/$USER/.texlive/texmf-var/fonts/map/dvipdfm/updmap"
    pxdvi output dir: "/home/$USER/.texlive/texmf-var/fonts/map/pxdvi/updmap"
    /usr/bin/updmap is creating new map files
    using the following configuration:
    LW35 font names : URWkb
    prefer outlines : true
    texhash enabled : true
    download standard fonts (dvips) : true
    download standard fonts (pdftex) : true
    create a mapfile for pxdvi : false
    Scanning for LW35 support files [ 3 files]
    Scanning for MixedMap entries [ 36 files]
    Scanning for KanjiMap entries [ 0 files]
    Scanning for Map entries [129 files]
    ERROR: The following map file(s) couldn't be found:
    ntx.map
    Did you run mktexlsr?
    You can delete non-existent map entries using the option
    --syncwithtrees.
    That's my problem: it can't find ntx.map, although I ran mktexlsr (which is texhash). So what to do?
    1: http://www.ctan.org/pkg/newtx
    2: http://ftp.uni-erlangen.de/mirrors/CTAN … wtx/README
    SOLUTION: The trick consists in placing all files into the necessary folders: *.map goes to fonts/map/newtx/, *.vf to fonts/vf/newtx/, and *.tfm to fonts/tfm/newtx/. Also, *.pfb needs to be placed in fonts/pfb/newtx/. *.enc files go to fonts/enc/newt/, and everything else remains in tex/latex/newtx/.

    ConnorBehan wrote:Oh it's part of the mlocate package. It will search your entire filesystem for a filename but there are other programs that do the same. I just meant, can you find ntx.map yourself? If so, you could put it in a new directory or let tex know with the TEXINPUTS environment variable.
    I really don't think that this makes a lot of sense as regards TeXlive; I have checked (with kpsewhich --var-value) if indeed all variables TEXMFHOME, TEXMFVAR, and TEXMFCONFIG are pointing to reasonable places, and indeed they do.
    I have found this guide:
    http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ … n/ch4.html
    Although it is Debian, I figure one can easily adapt it. So I tried that, and placed ntx.map in TEXMFHOME/fonts/map/$SYNTAX/newtx/ntx.map . I wasn't sure about $SYNTAX, so I just tried it with dvips. This time, $ updmap --enable Map=ntx.map did actually work, and there were not errors:
    $ updmap --enable Map=ntx.map
    copy /etc/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg => /home/janis/.texlive/texmf-config/web2c/updmap.cfg
    Config file: "/home/$USER/.texlive/texmf-config/web2c/updmap.cfg"

    dvipdfm output dir: "/home/$USER/.texlive/texmf-var/fonts/map/dvipdfm/updmap"

    Hi David,
    I also seek help for the dashboards, no doubt its matter of practise but like we are facing the problems where we have to map our query structure with Excel sheet.
    like I'm facing a problem where my Query accepts two parameters in SAP B1.
    In Xcelsius I mapped almost everything and these two parameters are accumulated by 2 combo's but when I make a XML data connection and use trigger cell option , it just takes one combo into consideration.
    Expected result is : If I change the value in any of the combo then it shud reflect results accrodingly
    Actual result : if I change the value of 2nd combo it doesn't reflect the changes until I select the value from first combo again.
    Any inputs will be really very much appreciated.

    You can include single app plans in team packages, but otherwise no. This will exclusively depend on the users' local permissions on the computer - if the can install one app, they can install all of them, be it only as a trial.

    if you have 2 packages with fonts A and B, and you install A and then B and then remove A, it will restore fonts.alias as it were before installing A and B ... you loose the aliases for B!
    -> so the way i tried with SGI-fonts is OK, if you have only one fonts-package for archlinux, but i hope that there will be at least one more, so my way to solve this is not so good
    i'm interested in a general way to install additional fonts (BDF or PCF, not TTF!) to the misc-folder of fonts --- how can we painless modify fonts.alias from the install-script of the fonts-package while installation?
    any ideas?

  • Creating optimized packages for my machine?

    Well, I want to create x86-64 packages for my machine with Arch linux. I really enjoy pacman hence my decision.
    Is there anything I need to do special for changing the optimization from i686 to x86-64? Or would a standard pkgbuild do this for me?
    I read the documentation for making my own packages but I saw no way to change the optimizations that the package is built with. Does it rely on other files for the optimizations or is there a file I need to edit. I really have no clue as what I need to do exactly to make this happen.
    The general build scripts seem pretty straight forward so I see no problem except for the optimization part. Any info is greatly appreciated, thanks.

    well, that's the only problem i have ... the hardware looks much nicer!! i would really like to have a white laptop instead of a black one (thinkpad -> good hardware, flexiview-screen, but black is somewhat uncool) --- but when i find a cheap powerbook (students do not have a lot of money ), i will definitely makeworld from arch-things --- this means actually: if i come to a powerbook of at least 800MHz, i will start a ArchPowerPC project, if Judd likes this idea of me using his pacman/makepkg to build an arch for PPC's

  • Microsoft TTF Fonts package needed for commercial use in portable application

    Hello there i am designing an application in java which is based on being a portable application of pdf converter. My design needs to have the ttf Fonts independently present in the application. Is there any way or agreement to buy the Microsoft ttf fonts

  • How to create "Business Components Package" in the Jdeveloper ?

    Hi,
    I installed and set up "Patch 7523554 10G Jdeveloper With OA Extension ARU for R12 RUP6"
    I have ran out the test_fwktutorial.jsp and test_fwklabsolutions.jsp.
    All links work properly on these pages.
    I created HelloWorld page from "Oracle Application Framework Toolbox Tutorials".
    Its works properly too.
    Then I started to create "Search Page".
    I created "Business Component project" in the toolbox.jws.
    I was trying to perform step 2.1 "Create the BC4J Package for Client (UI) Objects".
    But I didn't find "Business Components Package" in the context menu.
    Could you give me advice how can I create package of this kind ?
    Thanks.

    I created "OA Workspace" and simultaneously with it created "Business Components Package" <yourname>.oracle.apps.ak.employee.
    After this it i necessary to creates one more "Business Components Package" <yourname>.oracle.apps.ak.schema.server
    I failed to create Package of this kind.
    In the "BC4J Tutorial" It seems to me I found similr actions.
    I suppose I may perform next step:
    Figure 6-3 http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A97671_01/wtgbc4j.htm#BABIAIEI
    Figure 6-4 http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/A97671_01/wtgbc4j.htm#BABJIIII
    But I failed to pass these steps.
    Could you tell me, please, how to do this?
    Thanks.

  • 100 packages for 100 seperate files in SSIS 2012---------

    Hi,
    I am new to this Microsoft Forum.
    I have worked for last 3 years in MSBI(mainly SSIS and SSAS). Recently I have joined a new company and been assigned to new project. Here we have to first build Operational Data Stores from 50 source files (which is built-100 tables). then from this we need
    to pull data in Data Warehousing and later Cube.
    My question is: My architect telling me to create 100 separate packages for each source file from source to staging (one to one source to staging mapping) and connect it through master package. then when we pull data from staging to Dev. there would
    be 30 destination tables so 30 packages!!
    I have not designed any ETL in this way.
    the files can be segregated as per daily, monthly, weekly and quarterly, so I would have created daily, monthly and so on package. In each package I would have included source to staging and staging to development phase.
    His points are, testing team  can work separately on each package, multiple developers can work on separate files at the same time. can anyone tell me how feasible the design is.....advantage/disadvantage... But Would  it be good to handle
    100 odd packages for one database where I can achieve this by creating 6 packages.
    thanks, Rims

    Hi Rims,
    Personally, I agree with your architect's opinion from the perspective of "multi-developer" as well as "unit test your SSIS packages".
    If your main concern of creating dedicated SSIS packages is time consuming, I would recommend you to have a look at BIML / Mist. You can quickly get the idea from this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKi2zIoFUAg
    Basically, BIML / Mist can help you to build a SSIS code generator to loop through your database objects and generate SSIS packages on the fly. If you take this approach, it would be faster to create 100 SSIS packages than 6 customized SSIS packages.

    George Qiao
