[solved] Dual view and xfce compositor

I have some troubles when I'm connecting a monitor to my laptop. In normal times everything works fine. However when the monitor is connected I get this result:
http://ompldr.org/vOTU5OQ
On the left hand side screen Ario is the active window, however the inactive windows (like conky and urxvt), which are set to transparent with xfce compositor, are remaining visible in the foreground (you can not click on them but nevertheless very disturbing). On the right hand side screen the window decoration is transparent and remains drawn on the foreground.
Had anyone observed this before? I do not use any xorg.conf. Maybe by creating the xorg.conf can solve this issue?
I also briefly tried compiz. Here everything works fine but compiz takes a lot of ressources. But it shows that the issue is related to the xfce compositor I use...

Is X already started for you? Then you connect the monitor and type the appropriate xrandr command? Or are both monitors already plugged in when you type "startx"?
I have compositing enabled for xfwm4 and

  • [SOLVED] Dual monitors and raid - linux newb

    Hi
    I'm raginaot and I'll probably be asking a lot of dumb questions here in the near future
    I just decided to say goodbye to windows for a while. Been wasting too much time gaming and it was either - switch to linux or - sell my computer and move to the desert. I'm gonna try the former first and see how it goes.
    I managed to install arch and get gnome up and running with the help of the most awesome linux install guide I have ever seen and I installed the xf86-video-ati driver package but I'm having trouble getting it to recognise my 2 monitors.
    I'll list my hardware specs before I go any further:
    CPU: i7 920
    RAM: 12GB (3x4) Mushkin Silverline 1333MHz
    Motherboard: Gigabyte EX58-UD3R (rev 1.6)
    GPU: ATI HD5870 1GB
    Souncard: Auzentech X-fi forte
    Monitors: Samsung 2693HM and Samsung 226BW
    now the monitors seem to be stuck in mirrored mode, both showing the same image at 1280*1024 resolution
    when I try to set them both to on and their native resolutions (1920*1200 and 1680*1050) in the display settings I get a message that says:
    "the selected configuration for displays could not be applied
    required virtual size does not fit available size: requested=(3600, 1200), minimum=(320, 200), maximum=(1920, 1920"
    But when I unplug the 22" display, I can set the 26" to native res just fine and vice versa.
    Now to the second issue...
    I have 2 1TB drives in raid0, but in fdisk -l they appear as 2 seperate 1TB drives instead of 1 big 2TB like they're supposed to (see output below).
    I guess I have to mount them in some special way, but I have no idea how. The raid worked right away in linux mint.

    Glad you were able to figure out the RAID part - I can't really help you with that.  As far as the dual monitor setup, I would suspect that you will need to do some stuff with the xorg config to get it working.  I would say that xorg.log would be the first thing to look at - to see what is limiting the modes available to X.  Maybe post the xorg.log and your x configuration
    My post in this thread might give a bit of background on how X comes up with what resolutions it lets you choose.

  • Week view and task list solutions? Solved: a way to sync notes to Mac.

    I've been using a Palm Tungsten T5 for years and routinely rely on the Palm's Calendar week view feature and task list. The week view is indispensable to see where I can fit in appointments. Are there any ways to achieve the same functionalities on the iPhone, whether using built-in iPhone apps or third party apps? The task list would have to include item priorities, due dates, alarms, and ideally repeating events.
    I have found a way to sync notes from the iPhone to my Mac using MarkSpace's The Missing Sync for iPhone; notes are synced to the MarkSpace "notebook" application, where you can edit the notes (and copy and paste) and sync them back to the iPhone. This doesn't sync notes with any Apple applications, though.
    If I could solve the week view and task list omissions, I could see my way to replace my Palm with an iPhone. (And when ePocrates releases a full suite for the iPhone, I'll be all set.) But in the absence of these, I'll have to keep using a Palm.

    I'm in the same boat, unfortunately.
    As a life long Palm-User the PIM-functionalities of iCal can only be described as "rudimentary". It is nowhere near DateBk6 for example. And I would be just fine if it would come close to say 50% of it's functionality. Right now it's at about 25%.
    - no repeating tasks?
    - no tasks+calendar in one view?
    - no week view?
    - no icons for event/task categories?
    Come on Apple, such a great device with the amazing screen resolution, horizontal view etc. and you are not taking opportunity of it and get beat by 10 year old PDA's?

  • How to solve the flash Builder 4.6 scroll view and textinput  display problem?

    I have a dynamic form application which worked well on flash builder 4.5, having display problems in flash builder 4.6 now. What I did is adding
    TextInput objects  to a scroll view and set the texts for them dynamically. Everything is fine after the screen loaded. But if I scroll down, sometimes the texts will be placed in wrong positions. I attached the screen copy of the wrong display. Does anybody know how to solve this problem? Thanks.

    Check out the two threads below (if you have not already). I have not tried it but aeonus describes an approach that made me think of something that might work ... It is a workaround but, what if you have a text field (txtA) with the skin that does not allow soft keyboard selection, but does scroll correctly, and on the onClick event of that text field, you dynamically cover it with another text field (txtB) that does allow soft keyboard selection, (but does not scroll properly) and trigger the keyboard. After you get the entry from the user, set the value of txtA and destroy txtB ... leaving you (theoretically) with properly scrolling text fields. If you have a lot of those in your app, you might want to write a component that implements that behavior.
    "Create a dynamic textfield, and on click, invoke create a StageText instance at the same location as the textfield (by setting the StageText.viewPort property)
    Finally, set StageText.softKeyboardType to "numeric" and call StageText.assignFocus();"

    Hi Jagrut,
    If you are talking of support token then,
    TOKENs are nothing but the issues faced in the actual live system(Production).
    So the end user who is facing will raise it, it will be assigned to the production support team and they will solve it.

  • Materialized View and I_SNAP$ Indexes

    Hello Everybody,
    At the time of doing REFRESH of the Materialized View, we are getting error like -
    SQL> EXECUTE DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH('MV_TEST.MY_VIEW,'CF');
    BEGIN DBMS_MVIEW.REFRESH('MV_TEST.MY_VIEW,'CF'); END;

    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SNAPSHOT", line 2720
    ORA-06512: at line 1
    I tried to drop and recreate the index I_SNAP$_FIN_RESULT_EXPENSE1 but it didn’t helped.
    Later I dropped the index I_SNAP$_FIN_RESULT_EXPENSE1 and refreshed the materialized view and it was successful (obvious). But when I tried to recreate the index, I got the following error –
    SYS_OP_MAP_NONNULL("FIN_MULT"), SYS_OP_MAP_NONNULL("FIN_CD"))
    ERROR at line 8:

    My questions are:
    1.     Why are the indexes (I_SNAP$_*) automatically created for?
    2.     What is the purpose of these (I_SNAP$_*) indexes?
    3.     What harm can be there if we drop these (I_SNAP$_*) indexes?
    4.     Why it is complaining about the Duplicate records / Uniqueness?
    5.     How to know where exactly the problem is in this case?
    6.     What is the solution for this problem? How to recreate these indexes successfully?
    Thanks!

    Hello Rafi,
    I don't have any MLOG$_<table> in the database, After connecting as SYS -
    SQL> select tname from tab where tname like '%MLOG%';
    TNAME
    MLOG_REFCOL$
    MLOG$
    C_MLOG#
    SQL> select count(*) from mlog$;
    COUNT(*)
    0
    I am not using Replication here -
    SQL> select tname from tab where tname like '%RUPD%';
    no rows selected
    Why you think that granting SELECT access to MLOG$_* tables will solve this issue?
    Thanks,

    in your contacts settings, turn OFF all contact accounts (SIM, BBM ETC) then afterwards you should be able to just see your local contacts.

  • Problem in tabular form based on dynamic view and pagination

    Hi All,
    I have a manual tabular form based on a dynamic view. The view fetches the records based on search criteria given by the user in all cases. But this view fetches ALL records when user clicks on pagination, without considering the search criteria. This is the problem I am facing.
    I am doing the following:
    Since tabular form does not support pl/sql function returning query, I cannot use a table directly. I need my results based on search criteria selected by user. Hence I created a dynamic view and used a "INSTEAD OF UPDATE" trigger to update the table.
    I use a set bind variables procedure, on load before header for setting the variables.
    This view fetches the correct data based on user search always. It creates a problem only in one situation, when using pagination in the report.
    The example can be found at:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=19399:1:
    username = [email protected]
    pwd = kishore
    Here if "manager name" is entered as test, we get 5 records in "Summary of requests" report and 5 records in "Inactive Requests" report. When user clicks on Pagination in any of the reports, ALL the 7 records get fetched in "Summary of Requests" and 6 records in "Inactive Requests". How can I overcome this problem?? The report must consider the search variables even when pagination occurs.
    Is this because, the inbuilt "html_PPR_Report_Page" executes the region query once again by considering all search variables as NULL?
    Backend Code is at:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/
    workspace: sekhar.nooney
    Username :[email protected]
    pwd: kishore
    application id = 19399
    My region code is something like:
    select *
    from regadm_request_v
    where access_type = :F110_REGADM
    and status <> 'INACTIVE'
    order by request_id
    My view code is:
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW REGADM_REQUEST_V
    AS
    SELECT *
    FROM REGREGOWNER.REGADM_REQUEST
    WHERE upper(employee_name) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_EMPLOYEE_NAME),'%')||'%'

    AND upper(request_date) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_REQUEST_DATE),'%')||'%'
    AND upper(USAGE_AGREEMENT_RECVD) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(DECODE(REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_USAGE_AGREMNT_RECVD,'~!@',NULL,REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_USAGE_AGREMNT_RECVD)),'%')||'%'
    AND upper(STATUS) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(DECODE(REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_STATUS,'~!@',NULL,REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_STATUS)),'%')||'%'
    AND upper(REQUEST_APPROVED) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(DECODE(REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_REQUEST_APPROVED,'~!@',NULL,REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_REQUEST_APPROVED)),'%')||'%'
    AND upper(nvl(APPROVAL_DATE,sysdate)) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_APPROVED_DATE),'%')||'%'
    AND upper(APRVL_REQUEST_SENT) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(DECODE(REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_EMAIL_APPROVERS,'~!@',NULL,REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_EMAIL_APPROVERS)),'%')||'%'
    AND upper(NOTIFY_APPROVED) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(DECODE(REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_APPROVAL_NOTIFICATION,'~!@',NULL,REGADM_REQUEST_PKG.GET_APPROVAL_NOTIFICATION)),'%')||'%'
    I would be glad for any suggestions.
    Andy/Varad any ideas? You both helped me a lot on my problems for the same application that I had faced before in More Problems in Tabular form - Please give me suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Sumana

    Hi Andy,
    The view and the package for setting bind variables work properly in my entire application other than the pagination. A pity that I came across this only now :(
    I have used this same method for holding variables in another application before, where I needed to print to PDF. I used this approach in the other application because my queries were not within the APEX character limit specified for the "SQL Query of Report Query shared component".
    In this application, I initially had to fetch values from 2 tables and update the 2 tables. Updateable form works only with one table right? Hence I had created a view. Later the design got changed to include search and instead of changing the application design I just changed the view then. Still later, my clients merged the 2 tables. Once again I had just changed my view.
    Now, I wanted to know if any method was available for the pagination issue (using the view itself). Hence I posted this.
    But as you suggested, I think it is better to change the page design quickly (as it would be much easier).
    If I change the region query to use the table and the APEX bind parameters in the where clause as:
    SELECT *
    FROM REGADM_REQUEST
    WHERE upper(employee_name) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(:P1_EMPLOYEE_NAME),'%')||'%' .....
    I also changed the ApplyMRU to refer to the table.
    Here the pagination issue is resolved. But here the "last Update By" and "Last Update Date" columns do not get updated with "SYSDATE" and "v(APP_USER)" values, when update takes place. Even if I make the columns as readonly text field, I am not sure how I can ensure that SYSDATE and v('APP_uSER') can be passed to the columns. Any way I can ensure this? Please have a look at the issue here: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=19399:1:
    I have currently resolved the "last update" column issue by modifying my view as:
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW REGADM_REQUEST_V
    AS
    SELECT *
    FROM REGADM_REQUEST
    I modified my region query to use APEX bind parameters itself as:
    SELECT *
    FROM REGADM_REQUEST_V
    WHERE upper(employee_name) LIKE '%'||nvl(upper(:P1_EMPLOYEE_NAME),'%')||'%' .....
    And I use the "INSTEAD OF UPDATE" trigger that I had initially written for update. The code is:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER REGADM_REQUEST_UPD_TRG
    INSTEAD OF UPDATE
    ON REGADM_REQUEST_V
    REFERENCING NEW AS NEW OLD AS OLD
    FOR EACH ROW
    BEGIN
    UPDATE REGREGOWNER.REGADM_REQUEST
    SET MANAGER_EMAIL = :NEW.MANAGER_EMAIL
    , EMPLOYEE_EMAIL = :NEW.EMPLOYEE_EMAIL
    , STATUS_UPDATE_DATETIME = SYSDATE
    , USER_UPDATE_ID = (SELECT v('APP_USER') FROM DUAL)
    WHERE REQUEST_ID = :OLD.REQUEST_ID;
    END;
    Please let me know how I can resolve the "last update" column issue using the table itself. (Just for my learning)
    Thanks,
    Sumana

    is above logic can work or not
    also is size of view is greater than internal table memory size.

    Writing the large volume to another table(which a view is just a view of a table or group of tables) is not going to solve the problem.  You still have to select the data from the view(or table).  Like I said in your other threads, you need to read by package size, and do something with that subset, whether it is summaring, or writeing to another system via RFC.

  • Thinkpad W520 with Minidock+ Series 3 - Dual monitors and USB fail sporadically

    Hello there,
    I wonder if anyone has experienced problems ThinkPad W520 and Mini Dock Plus Series 3 (Part number: 433830U)? I run into problems with dual monitor and USB devices.
     For dual monitor setup, sometimes only a single monitor is detected, sometimes no monitors are available in the NVidia control panel. Rigorous display detection doesn't help. Disabling Optimus in BIOS doesn't seem to affect it. After I dock and undock couple of times, reboot, unplug the power cord, it seems to resolve and both monitors work fine.
    Also, I run into troubles with USB devices (keyboard/mouse). Sometimes they are not detected at all, but if I plug them into different USB ports on the mini dock, they are detected and work fine.
    For me this problem happens about 50% of the time when I dock... Any ideas, insights or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Could it be a faulty Thinkpad, docking station or may be both? I really to upgrade next time to W530, but I've been through so many problems with W520, so I don't know if it's a good idea...
    Thanks so much.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    If system update isn't finding anything, and the system works just fine on its own, it could potentially be a faulty Dock.
    It could be overloaded.  Could you try testing the dock using just one monitor, and no keyboard or mouse, to see if you run into the same issue.  It would still be a faulty dock, but it may be a potential workaround for the time being.

  • Album View and Cover Flow View are not available in iTunes 7

    Hi,
    When I connect my iPod, in the iTunes 7, the options for Album view and Cover Flow View are disabled for the song list on my iPod. I only have a list view for them. However, at the same time, the songs on the library can be viewed in any of the three (3) views.
    What might be the possible reason and is there any options to view your iPod songs in Cover Flow View in iTunes (while it is connected)?
    Please solve this query of mine.

    It just simply not a feature. You might think about requesting it here:

  • Viewset - active view and data validation problem

    Hey there,
    I've a problem while using a viewset (1 col, 2 rows) and the data-validation in the wdDoBeforeAction() method.
    My application works basically like this:
    The first view is displayed with 2 mandatory input fields. Upon the evaluation result of the entered data in these fields, a corresponding second view will be displayed. The input fields in the first view are set to read only and a button named "Change" appears. This button triggers an action which fires and outbound-plug to an empty view, so that the second view disappears and resets the "read only" properties of the input fields in the first view, so that the user can enter new data.
    The problem is, that the second view contains input fields itself, which are validated in the wdDoBeforeAction() method of this view. The navigation is cancelled if an error occurs. Well, this is fine if i want to submit (pressing the button "Approve" in the second view) this data and proceed, but if i want to go back to the first view (by hitting the "Change" button), i want to discard all information entered in the second view and i dont want this data to be validated. It's quite annoying if u just want to correct the first views data but have to enter correct values for the second view in order to get through the second views checks..
    I hope that's clear enough, otherwise i will upload a screenshot to clarify.
    Thx in advance
    Regards
    Pascal

    Hi Pascal,
    although I wont prefer to do so for reasons of readability, you could use wdDoProcessbeforeAction to control your view-flow.
    Take a look at the example, I have two Buttons with two actions, one is set on "Validate", the other is not (guess which on is the validating ).
    You can get the action triggered inside the doBefore ... method and determine whether or not the checkbox is set.
    So put your code to validate the input in the i(isValidting) branch and your problems are solved.
    Keep in Mind: I would delegate the Validation from the view to the controller, handle the validation myself with custom coding and then check in the view controller if any errors occured.
    hope that helped,
    Jan

  • FCE 4: Picture in Viewer and Canvas is too small

    I'm still learning but the picture in my Viewer and Canvas don't show very well. They show up with 2 grey bars on the left and right of the picture. Above the picture it shows 71% instead of 100%. When I put to 100% the picture will be zoomed very big. I have no idea where's the problem but there must be something very wrong. Before i had crosslines in the viewer but this problem is solved. But how do i get the picture back to fullsize in the Viewer and Canvas?

    Tom's right, if there isn't enough room for FCE to display the image full size in the window it scales it to fit. Make the windows larger, (for example put it on compositing view under window arrangement), and then choose scale to fit for each of the images.

  • Linking two DCs using interface views and return the value

    Hi,
    I have two webdynpro DCs. DC1 & DC2, each contains one view.
    Point 1:  From the DC1-->DC1View1 ,when I click a button , It should call  DC2(This is happening).
    Point2: When the DC2 is executed it should return to DC1-->DC1View1, value from DC2 need to be passed to DC1 also.
    How to acheive  point2. How anyone help on this .
    Regards,
    Muhammed Nishad J.

    Hi,
    You would have created a inbound and outbound plug between DC1-->DC1View1 and DC2 ->View.
    Now you will have to create the same for DC2 ->View and DC1-->DC1View1
    1) create an inbound plug on DC1-->DC1View1 and outbound plug on DC2->view.
    2) Now create a link as you would have in the first case.
    3) create a parameter in DC2->view for outbound plug, and also the same in inbound plug of the DC1->view
    4) Now in the method that was created for the outbound(public void onPlug<name of plug> )pass the value into the parameter created
    5) in the inbound method(public void onPlug<name of inbound> get the value of the parameter in a variable.
    I hope this solves your problem.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Customed maintenance view and assign T-Code

    Hello SAP exports,
    I have one question needs your help!
    We do not want the end users to maintenance V_T008 table directly by using SM30 in PRD.
    Therefore, I copy V_T008 view and create a custom view ZV_T008 by using SE11.
    The purpose is to create a maintenance view (ZV_T008) and assign a new T-Code in order to let user allows to maintenace ONLY in V_T001C table in PRD without using SM30.
    Is above the solution workable?
    I know how to assign a program to a new T-Code by using T-Code SE93.
    But, I do not know how to assign a maintenance view (ZV_T008) to a new T-Code.
    Please help.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Sylvia Chen

    Great thanks for the tips!
    Now I can run T-Code and SAP display the data table immediately.
    I can modify the data table directly without using SM30.
    This is great!
    Two more things need to solve.
    Can SAP only show one of the record of the data table?
    There are 10 records in the data table.
    The user ONLY needs to modify one record when the ZV_T008-ZAHLS = "K".
    The other thing needs to solve is following:
    when user inputs T-Code, SAP display the data table immediately.
    But, the description field (ZV_T008-TEXTL) is able to modify.
    How can I make this field become not able to modify?
    If you can provide the above solution, it will make me a very Merry Christmas!

    Sylvia Chen
