[SOLVED] Easiest way to share a folder on the cloud?

I have an Amazon S3 account, but it's kind of a pain to use. Not much better (maybe worse) than the ftp programs we've been using since the 90s. This can't be the "cloud computing" everyone is so excited about.
What's the modern way to have a few (frequently modified) files available anywhere there's an Internet connection? I want to access the files on Arch, Debian, and Windows.
Specifically, these are stories and Python programs I update several days a week.

If you want to keep s3, then you could try s3fs and rsync to it.
By the way, Dropbox is backed by Amazon S3.

Please advise the easiest way to share internet connection. I have a default network setup. Just a desktop with dhspcd for client connections and no network manager. I've inserted another nic and want to share internet connection with another computer.

Do you mean I should manually assign a static IP to my local interface using Persistent configuration on boot using systemd? It's so ruddy complicated! I am deliberately posting in the Newbie Corner to find a simple solution.
What address, subnet, netmask, etc. should I choose if my primary interface has: inet 192.168.0.11 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255, if it matters at all?
Or perhaps I could use netctl to set up the interface as suggested here: [link=https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NAT%27ing_firewall_-_Share_your_broadband_connection#IP_configuration]IP configuration[/link], but I am not sure what provides the existing connection. It's a default setup. I think it's dhcpcd. Would it be OK to have one interface configured through dhcpcd and another through netctl?

iMac G5 - you are at the end of the line, though you may be able to upgrade your RAM, or hard drive.
iMac CoreSolo, CoreDuo - you can upgrade to 1 GB of RAM or 2 GB of RAM and get up to 10.6.8.
iMac Core2Duo - you can upgrade to 2 GB of RAM or more and get up to 10.7.2.
Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to determine which Mac model you have.
Here's what you have to watch out for on 10.6 to 10.6.8.
Here's what you need to watch out for on 10.7 to 10.7.2.
Some stores may not have 10.6 installer CD available, or may not have 10.7 Flash drive available. For those you have to make the purchase from elsewhere,
and bring it in to the store with you. http://www.apple.com/retail has phone numbers for all their stores, and extension 5 often will get you a real person at the store, though if yuo don't get it, you might try a different extension.

When you save them just make sure you save them to your Mac and not iCloud. For those that already exist, you can move them from iCloud by dragging and dropping them to somewhere else on your Mac. To see all the files in iCloud choose file > open in either pages or numbers.

When I go into system preferences, then iCloud, then manage, it does not let me view what is there only says: ex: The documents stored inside Pages take up 623.3KB and gives me the option to: Delete Documents and Data. It does not let me see what files are there. I think it is time for me to go back to my apple store and get more acquainted with iCloud and storage and how to manage it. I had some issues with my mac about a month ago after downloading an updated version. The issue was related to syncing, iCloud, iTunes, calendar and storage. Easiest Way to Share Files Between Users? -- Public, Shared, Drop Box.. .

We have five family members (and so five user accounts) using our Mac. What is the easiest way to copy files between / share files with / ... files from one user to the other?
Shared ... Public ... Drop Box ...
I do this so infrequently that I forget -- or have never figure it out properly.

The Shared folder is fine, but anything a user puts there will be read-only to all other users. If other users want to be able to edit such a file they can make a copy of it and edit the copy. If you want all users to be able to edit one of your files without them having to make a copy of it first, you must change the file permissions to allow that.
There are a few ways to have new files automatically set so that others can write to them. Storing such files on an external hard drive on which file/folder ownership is set to be ignored is one way. You can also use ACLs - see this page for an example.

Move it from the Music folder of your home folder on the iMac to the same location on the MacBook Air; this can be done through target disk mode, or an external drive, or file sharing over a network. iTunes Store authorization won't automatically transfer, and any rented movies moved in this way won't play on the MacBook Air.

I was hoping to use mobile access server to access mail remotely via Iphone. Now I've learnt that mobile access server requires two servers. This really *****.
So...what will be the easiest way to make a user's internal mail account available to them on their iphone from remote locations? Can the iphone connect remotely to our server via our IP address and then sync IMAP email?

What is entailed in making our mail server accessible from outside the local network for IMAP access? Is it just a matter of opening the firewall / security to permit Mail services to the outside world? Is this a security issue.
Regarding internal - I meant mail hosted on our internal server. This would be mail from the outside world to our internal mail server.

Best way to move Users folder off the boot drive

I read a couple of old threads regarding this topic, but I have some lingering questions...
I'm awaiting my Mac Pro. I ordered it with one drive. I plan on adding two drives in a RAID 0 array for data (which will be backed up regularly, of course) as soon as I get the Mac.
This is my first Mac, so I've got some questions (long time PC user as well as AIX & Linux user):
1. Is it better to move the entire /Users folder or just selected /Users/<user_name> folders? I'm thinking it's safer to just move selected /Users/<user_name> folders (e.g. my "everyday" accoun'ts home directory, other family members' home folders, and the /Users/Shared folder). That way, in the event that I have a problem with my data drive (a RAID 0 array), I can login as an admin whose home folder is still in the boot drive and I won't have any problems logging in as that user when doing maintenance.
2. Is it safe to move (and delete from the boot drive) the /Users/<user_name>/Library folder? Note that I plan on moving the home folders on a brand new Mac, but will things get messed up if I delete /Users/<user_name> folders from the boot drive once I've moved them to the RAID array?
3. Are there any ill-behaved programs that expect Users to be in the boot drive, so I have to create a /Users/<user_name> soft link that points to the actual folder in the RAID array?
4. I believe I found the steps suggested in Pogue's Mac OS X Missing Manual book (although it's in the context of moving the folder to an external drive). Basically, it entails running:
a. sudo ditto -rsrc "/Users/<user_name>" "/Volumes/<thenewhome>"
b. Then, in Accounts pane of System Preferences under Advanced Options, enter the new Home folder.
c. Reboot and delete the original /Users/<user_name>
Does this sound right? Seems really simple (much easier than in the Windows world).

1. Mike Bombich's method entails moving the entire /Users folder to another drive so everyone's home is moved?
2. David Pogue's method (as described in the Missing Manual) only entails moving individual, selected home folders to another drive (and no soft links needed)?
3. It sounds like Pogue's method is preferable anyway (for the paranoid at least), so if the 2nd drive dies or needs maintenance, I can still login as a user whose home folder is in the boot drive?
4. So, if I use Pogue's method, all that is needed are the steps listed in my original post above, and nothing else?
