Hey, that's one thing I actually know how to do with regexes! All package descriptions have some spaces at their beginning, the package names themselves have not, so you can just use inverted grepping like so:
    $ pacman -Ss test | grep -v '^ '

    extra/fprint_demo 0.4-2 (fprint)

    arch-games/ultimatestunts 0.7.5.1-1
This still shows the repos and the versions (nothing cut wouldn't be able to handle though). It works fine with pacman as you just saw, I can't guarantee for yaourt as I don't have it installed.
Edit: Hm… I just realized that this still displays the results where 'test' only occured in the package description. Give me some time to figure this out.
Edit 2: Another grep for 'test' would solve it:
    $ pacman -Ss test | grep -v '^ ' | grep test

  • [SOLVED] packer -Ss return package names

    Hey everybody,
I am writing a a little script which automatizes some of my arch-setup..
Hence I want to provide this script to some of my friends it should me mostly automated.
Therefore the script needs capable of installing possible drivers just by getting a hint passed.
    So here is the Question:
Is it possible to let packer return the exact package names when using the -Ss option?
Exact name of the package means just the package name without any information.
    Example:
I want to install the drivers for a Epson printer and my only Information is "SX525WD. A normal search with packer looks like this:
    $ sudo packer -Ss SX525WD
    aur/epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-635-nx625-series 1.0.1-6
    Epson printer driver (ME Office 82WD, 85ND, 900WD, 960FWD / Stylus NX625, SX525WD, SX620FW,
    TX560WD / Stylus Office B42WD, BX525WD, BX625FWD, TX620FWD / WorkForce T42WD, 60, 625, 630,
    633, 635)
But I would rather like a result like this:
    $ sudo packer -Ss SX525WD
    epson-inkjet-printer-workforce-635-nx625-series
    Is there a possible solution?
    Thank you very much!

I doubt there's a way to do it with packer itself, but it looks like something that shouldn't be very hard to do with regular expressions
EDIT: I don't know what you're writing the script in, but you could use regular expressions to identify the / in the output and then track until the space and that would give you the package name

  • Data Pump & Package Names

    Hi,
When I import and then export I find that package names have changed to uppercase, are wrapped in double quotes and prefixed with the schema name. ( I'm doing schema specific exports )
    so
    pkg_name
    becomes
    SCHEMA_NAME."PKG_NAME"
I use TOAD to compare schemas and this is a bit of a pain, any ideas how I can stop this from happening
    Kind Regards

    Hi,
Yes my mistake re the schema names, but still having the problem with the package name being uppercased and encased in double quotes.
    for example running
select text from all_source where line = 1 and type = 'PACKAGE' and owner = 'WKF_OWNER' on the source database gives
    TEXT
    PACKAGE pkg_wkf_document_input
    PACKAGE pkg_wkf_document_output
    PACKAGE pkg_wkf_aq
    PACKAGE pkg_wkf_config
    PACKAGE pkg_wkf_housekeep
on the target database after doing the datapump import I get
    TEXT
    PACKAGE "PKG_WKF_DOCUMENT_OUTPUT"
    PACKAGE "PKG_WKF_DOCUMENT_INPUT"
    PACKAGE "PKG_WKF_AQ"
    PACKAGE "PKG_WKF_CONFIG"
    PACKAGE "PKG_WKF_HOUSEKEEP"
so when I compare schemas it show the packages as being different due to the name.
Looks like i will have to revert to export

class.forname - Unable to load class if two jars contains same package name exists in classpath.
JVM is stopping search for class one it finds the package name in the jar file that is ahead in classpath,
JVM is not continuing search in the remaining jar files.
For this , I put the jar file that contained class ahead of of ther jar file containing same package name, then it worked.
Is this a JVM bug ? (JDK 1.5)

I reported as bug to sun. I got auto email, looks they have not assigned any Bug ID so far.

  • How to know package name in plsql

    Hi experts,
I want to find out all packages' name within one database, is there any views or tables which contains these information? just like user_tables
    regards
    Owen

If you want to obtain all packages names at the database level you are required privileges, otherwise you will only be able to see the USER_OBJECTS and ALL_OBJECTS. All dba packages is listed at the DBA_OBJECTS:
    select object_name
    from dba_objects
    where object_type='PACKAGE';Required role: select_catalog_role
This should be granted from an administrator (ask your dba).

I tried the solution provided to me, but unfortunately the issue remains the same.
I was Advised to Execute the SQL utldtree.Sql, and then Execute deptree_fill.
The output is given by a Table DEPTREE (Columns are: .'NESTED_LEVEL', 'TYPE', 'SCHEMA', 'NAME' and 'SEQ#')
The output I am getting From the Table DEPTREE is as follows -
Column TYPE value is PACKAGE; Column NAME Value is ACTUAL PACKAGE NAME
Column TYPE value is PACKAGE BODY; Column NAME Value is ACTUAL PACKAGE NAME
This repeats till the count the TABLE Name is found in the same PACKAGE
    Desired Output should be -
Column TYPE value PACKAGE; Column NAME Value ACTUAL PACKAGE NAME
Column TYPE value PACKAGE BODY; Column NAME Value ACTUAL PACKAGE BODY NAME
This should repeat till the count the TABLE Name appears in different PACKAGE BODY of the same PACKAGE

  • Pacman query - find a package containing a file [SOLVED 4 years ago]

I spent 10 min in google trying to find out which arch package has the oggdec program.  I finally found it (vorbis-tools), but I was unable to do it with pacman.  I happened across this page for another distro and luckily, the arch package was named the same as the Debian package.
How can I use pacman to find the vorbis-tool package knowing that I want to search for oggdec?  I read the pacman wiki article but didn't find what I'm looking for.

I think dagelf meant it's not called pkgtools.

They are in the AUR now https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pkgtools/ and pkgfile is a separate package.

I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed.  It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4).  Please see and follow the procedure in the following article:http://smallbusiness.chron.com/reverting-previous-version-itunes-32590.html   The previous version works beautifully.

  • How to find proc/func name from package name and line number?

    Hi,
We are using the pl/sql call stack dump (dbms_utility.format_call_stack) for some debugging purposes. But in the case of a package body execution, the dump does not return the name of the procedure/function that is being executed, but only the name of the package and the line number being executed. So, we have a requirement wherein we need to extract the type and name of a package subunit from the package name and line number.
    e.g.
From the information package 'A', line number 739
we should be able to deduce that line 739 is a part of *'function A.f'*
Does the oracle database provide any native mechanism (PL/SQL packages or otherwise) to support such functionality? If it does not, how can we achieve the desired result?
    Thanks in advance,
    Shashank

The approach we are currently planning to take up is this :
    1. Write PL/SQL code to parse the entire source (user_source) and build a database table with a structure like this :
    PACKAGE_NAME | UNIT_TYPE | UNIT_NAME | START_LINE | END_LINE
    =============================================
    A | PROCEDURE | P1 | 20 | 345
    A | FUNCTION | F1 | 347 | 629
    etc..
    2. Start PL/SQL package execution.
    3. Keep dumping call stack snapshots whenever a custom debug procedure is called.
    4. Dump the package name and line number to a log file.
    5. Using the package name and line number, query the table built in step 1 and build the final report which shows the control flow in a readable form.
What we want is to get rid of step 5 and by some means get the logic to extract the unit type and name in step 4 itself.
    Keep them coming..
    Thanks and regards,
    Shashank

  • [SOLVED] search just package name (not description) with yaourt

Is there a way to search just package names (not package descriptions) with yaourt or pacman?  I'm imagining something like this:

My question still stands as to how I can search just package names.  If it is using another program other than yaourt or pacman, that is okay.
"yaourt -Ss SEARCH_STRING" has been working as stated in the documentation for me (with yaourt-0.9.2.6).  It will return all packages that have SEARCH_STRING in either the package name or package description.
Here are the first three results when running this command:
    $ yaourt -Ss emacs
    extra/emacs 23.1-3 [installed]
         The Emacs Editor
    extra/snd 10.1-1
Snd is the emacs of sound editor
    extra/texmacs 1.0.7-3

and GNU Emacs. WYSIWYG editor TeX-fonts and CAS-interface (Giac, GTybalt,
Macaulay 2, Maxima, Octave, Pari, Qcl, R and Yacas) in one.
    $
It looks like it works as specified in the man pages:
    -s, --search <'regexp'>
This will search each package in the sync databases for names or descriptions that match regexp.
When you include multiple search terms, only packages with descriptions matching ALL of those terms will be returned.
