[SOLVED] i3bar workspace buttons

Hi,
I'm setting up i3 for a test run after using spectrwm for the past year. Maybe someone could help me with i3bar's workspace buttons. I just can't figure out how to get that nice 1px solid border around them like in a lot of screenies I've seen. For some reason there's a 2px border only on the left and top of the button and I've yet to find a way to change that. Any clues?

You are right, the left and top border of the button are bigger than the right one.
I think the window lays over underside of the button, so you can't see it.
Maybe Rasi tweaked the code itself, but, as ANOKNUSA says, could be a bug too.

Photoshop cc 2014 my workspace button is missing

I'm running the updated Photoshop CC 2014 on a new 27" retina display iMac. I just noticed the button for the workspaces is missing. I can see the workspaces if I go to the menu bar and click on Window > Workspaces but the button is completely missing from the the control panel. I deleted the Workspaces preferences. I would be grateful for any help.

I forgot to mention that I'm using Yosemite. By the way, I solved the problem. I went to the Preferences panel and in the Interface tab, I un-clicked Enable Narrow Options Bar. For some reason after I did that, the Workspace button came back on. I've never had that problem before. Maybe it's a bug with Yosemite and Photoshop. I hope I can help someone else frustration.

Just downloaded DW CC. Bought expensive book that tells me to use "Expanded Workspace" but the only options I see in window or workspace button are "Design" Extract" and one other. No where can I find "Expand" or "Compact" which the books says are the two

I won't be spending any more money on expensive books now that I know you can't actually get one that applies to the latest version.
Don't get me wrong. I like books. Classroom in a Book series is an excellent resource to have. You will learn a lot from it. Just don't get side-stepped by Creative Cloud's update schedule. No publishing house can keep pace with it. If you stay informed about new releases from Adobe's "What's New" Blogs, you will get your money's worth out of your books. Online Help (F1) is another good resource to use since it is updated fairly often.

Customize the workspace buttons?

Is there a way to customize the workspace buttons? There are only a few buttons there currently, and a lot of wasted space. The workspace bar used to have a variations button but that has been removed in this version. There are other commands I would like to add to it as well. Is there a way to customize this? I tried control, left, and right clicking on a blank area of the workspace bar but nothing happened.

[Solved] i3 workspace output woes

Semi-recently switched to i3, loving everything about it so far other than one fairly large issue that is stopping me using it like a true WM.
Basically, I'm trying to set 4 workspaces on each monitor (of which I have 2), and it just straight up doesn't work. Both outputs have at least 8 (I only have 1-8 switch keys bound) workspaces that are independent, and if I launch applications before switching, they get ignored and other workspaces get created.

I took a break from i3 for a day as this was really bugging me, had a sleep, woke up this morning and I've sorted it. It's a very hacked solution, but it does the job. Instead of having
bindsym $mod4+<num> workspace <num>
I now have
bindsym $mod4+<num> exec "i3-msg focus output <monitor>; i3-msg workspace <num>"
Which I know will probably cause problems later, but it does the job for now. Marking as solved.

[Solved] Wacom pen buttons not working

Hi, this is probably simple to fix, but I don't understand everything well enough to get it set up. I have a Fujitsu T5010 with internal Wacom tablet. The Wacom drivers are installed. I can use the pen to move the pointer, and click. However, the buttons on the side of the pen do not work. Also, the eraser end of the pen seems to register as an ordinary single click, rather than a separate input.

Solved: No "Open" button for opening PDF in browser

Howdy,
One of our users - she has the same config as everyone else (imaged PC) - does not get an "Open" button when clicking a link to a PDF in Internet Explorer. She is only presented with the "Save" or "Cancel" dialog box. I've tried changing the "Display PDF in Browser" check box, various registry settings, etc - nothing works.

Solution: I unchecked "Do not save encrypted pages to disk" in IE at Tools - Internet Options - Advanced Tab - Under Security

I did this and now Safari won't open the form at all.
I put the files back and it opens in Adobe.
When I save the files to desktop they open in Preview. But I am trying to read pdf's(? forms) while in Safari.
Adobe does not work smoothly in Safari and scrolling to read is a nightmare.
OS X 10.8.5
This problem came up within the last few months.
Before everything opened in Preview perfectly.

SOLVED!--Media Buttons not working and TVAP will NOT uninstall

I have a A660D-STNX2 running WIN 7 sp 1.
The media buttons have stopped working and all threads concerning this have one reinstalling TVAP. Trying that has not changed functionality. I believe it is because I cannot uninstall TVAP. Uninstall gives a an immediate error of RegDBGetItem failed (1) . Which I think means the registry does not contain the item to be removed.
Any ideas will be appreciated.
UPDATE!!
Was able to restore backup of registry, then could uninstall TVAP. Installed updated TVAP (from web site) and buttons were assigned wrong, went back to orginal TVAP from Toshiba Application Installer ({start}-{my toshiba}-{tai})

[SOLVED] Use mouse-button to emulate a keypress

I have a mouse (Logitech M510), and I would like it to do the following:
Whenever I press mouse button 8, I would like it to be recognized as if I were pressing the "home"-button (keycode 110).
How do I do that? I'm guessing xmodmap, but I can't figure out how to do it from reading the man-page.

pacman -Rd gtmod
pacman -S qt
#Qtmod not needed anymore
pacman -R guidance-power-manager /or pacman -Rcsn ....
pacman -Syu kdemod /or pacman -Syu kdemod-complete
also backup/ remove ~/.kde4 to start with clean config, especially if you have your own plasmoids.
#powerdevil is included in kde now, so other inferior powermanagers might conflict with it.

However I've downgraded all of them back but the crash remains. I also removed qtmod and installed qt from the arch repositories but still no effect on the bug. Also tried to rename the .kde4/ folder to make KDE generating a new plain folder but doesn't help with the problem. Even complete removal of KDEmod and new installation didn't make a change.
I hope someone can help cause I'm runnig out of ideas what to try next.

That repo has saved my life a number of times. Especially with BLUETOOTH GRRRR.
As for getting all your old settings back, I didn't investigate this enough because i only have opensuse for curiosity as I think they do some really great stuff.
Basically I hadn't yet isolated what was causing the problems before I gave up because every time I tried to merge my old settings in to the new user account, I recreated the problem. No logical (subjective term obviously) separation of what to merge and what not to merge worked. So I gave up and just did everything manually. Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful.

[Solved] Quick launch buttons not working

So I bought the GT60 2OC 3k IPS edition around 3 months ago and it's been working more or less perfectly. However today I haven't been able to use any of the quick launch buttons, they don't even light up when clicked on. I tried reinstalling SCM multiple times but nothing changed. Is there any easy fix solution to this problem?
