[SOLVED] incorrect navigation after migration 6i - 10g

Hi,
we have a big problem after forms migration from 6i to 10g. :-(
Our forms appliction contains a lot of forms with master detail data blocks in tabular layout. In most cases we have text fields inside the data blocks.
After migration we are not able to set the focus on any record by mouse. We are also unable to change the focus from one data block to another. The only way to set the focus is clicking on a check box (if there is one).
In 6i everything works: you can select records by mouse and you can focus another data block. (we tried migration by forms migration assistant and migration by forms builder with same results)
Any hints?
Thanks in advance, florian.

    After Migrating from 10g to 11g Geeting problems with Guided navigations and section navigations not working.
    And we are getting the following error <<odbc driver returned an error (SQLExecDirectW)>> where we have used navigations.
    In 10G we have Guided navigation Reports to display the Reports links and intermediate reports for conditionally displaying the Dashboard section(Reports) but after migrating to 11g Guided navigation reports and conditional reports are not working..
    We know that in 11g section navigation replaced with conditions and Guided navigation replaced with action link.. but
    do we need to recreate those reports in actions and condition or is there any work around avoid reworking.

    Hi Both,
    Thanks for the reply ...
    For Guided navigation we are getting like below error:

  • Can't see EJB objects in Application Navigator after migration

    Hello
    I can't see any objects in Application Navigator after migration from previous version of JDeveloper (9.2.0.5), in System Navigator view I can see all sources. Has somebody any idea what the reason is?
    Tom

    In the application navigator you should see one node per EJB, when you stand on it you'll see the various source files in the structure window.

  • Problem with national fonts after migration 9i- 10g

    I'm after migration from Developer Suite 9i to 10g. I see that all Polish characters are replaced with '?'. This problem is only in 10g Designer (before migration all were OK).
    I've tried setting NATLNG to POLISH_POLAND.EE8MSWIN1250 in Forms Generator. In Windows registry is POLISH_POLAND.EE8MSWIN1250 (setting by DS10g setup).
    I've tried fonts via Options->Color/Font/Style - I see change on Display view but '?' are still after saving changes and generating form.

    Thanks knordstrand.
    Problem's resolved yet. You're right - wrong charset on bd.

  • Getting "ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence" after migrating into 10g

    Hi All,
    We are getting the mentioned error after migrating from "Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - 64bit Production" to "Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit", when running a procedure.
    Have anyone faced this problem before? I have searched a lot but the solution provided is to not to use commit inside loop. We are not using FOR UPDATE with cursors.
    Any idea why the procedure running succesfuly in 9i is giving error in 10g.
    PROCEDURE is very complicated and calling a lot of other procedures and functions.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jeneesh

    Hi Boneist ,
    Actually the code structure is like this. Loping through 140,000 records.
       declare
          cursor c1 .....;
      begin
          massaging data;
          for rec in c1 loop
             do_processing .........
             if count is multiple of 5000 commit;
          end loop;
          other processses;
    end;
    Error is coming after the commit. But the same code is working fine in 9i.

  • Ofgtel65.pll , CGDV$REF_CODES.SOFT_VAL problem after migrating to 10g

    Hi,
    We have migrated from Oracle 9i to 10g and
    In 'OAS904' , i have used CGDV$REF_CODES.SOFT_VAL to populate a field with a meaning via a dynamic list in one of the FORM and if I query the form by giving a value and press F12,all fields are populating , its working fine but the same thing is not working after migrating the FORMS application to 'OAS10.1.2'. If I query the form by giving a value and press F12,its showing error like "FRM:40201 Field must be entered" for that particular field because that field is not populated and also a required field in the form.
    Actually , this form is generated by designer.If i open the form using forms builder, i can see the auto generated code like 'POST-QUERY', in that CGDV$REF_CODES.SOFT_VAL is used to retrieve the meaning.
    Note : ofgtel65.pll points to QMS_REF_CODES instead of CG_REF_CODES.
    Am using headstart6.5.4.0 .
    The generated form having post_query with the following code
    CGDV$REF_CODES.SOFT_VAL(P_VALUE=>curr_value, P_MEANING=>l_meaning, P_DOMAIN=>l_domain, P_VAL_CODE=>TRUE);
    But in the ofgtel65.pll ,
    the soft_val method will have a query that refers to QMS_REF_CODES .But my meanings are present in CG_REF_CODES.
    Any help would be of great help. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Tharini.

    Is this a Designer generated Form ? You may want to ask the question on that Forum too.

  • DBMS_JOB after migrating to 10g

    No jobs are running after migrating from 9i to 10g. Everything looks ok.
    Creating new job for test- same story - no executions. I can execute them manually
    Suggestions?

    We run plenty of DBMS_JOB processes on 10g without any issue.
    How, exactly, did you migrate from 9i to 10g?
    If you migrated in place, the instructions will generally have you set JOB_QUEUE_PROCESSES to 0 during the migration. Did you forget to set it back after the migration finished?

    If you check lines 2, 3, 8, and 13 in the 10g plan you will see that Oracle has operated your two EXISTS subqueries separately (there is a bug with multiple filter subqueries in that version that indents each subquery after the first one extra place, so the shape of the plan is a little deceptive). The statistics show that the second subquery only ran once because existence was almost always satistfied by the first.
    In the 11g plan, lines 2, 3, and 9 show that the optimizer has transformed your TWO subqueries into a single subquery, then turned transformed the single subquery into a concatenation and this has, in effect, made it execute both subqueries for every row from the driving table - all the extra work appears from the redundant execution of the thing that was the second EXISTS subquery.
    If you extract the OUTLINE from the execution plans (add 'outline' to the call to dbms_xplan as one of the format options) you may see some hint that shows the optimizer combining the two subqueries - if so then put in the "NO_xxx" hint to block it. Alternatively you could simply try adding the hint stop ALL cost-based query transformations /*+ no_query_transformation */

  • Error ORA-24247 after migrating from 10g to 11g

    Hi all,
    After a migration from a 10.2.0.3 (32bits) database to a 11.2.0.3 (64bits) database, we are facing a problem related to the UTL_SMTP package. I vale already created a ACL, as you can see below:
    -- create acl
    BEGIN
        DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.CREATE_ACL (acl => 'user_processos.xml',
                                                                         description => 'abc',
                                                                    principal => 'PROCES',
                                                                    is_grant => TRUE,
                                                                    privilege => 'connect');
    END;
    -- assign acl
    BEGIN
        DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN.ASSIGN_ACL (acl => 'user_processos.xml'
                                                                    host => 'rac-abc',
                                                                 lower_port => 1521,
                                                                 upper_port => NULL);
              END;The problem is: After we try to execute a procedure that calls UTL_SMTP, with user PROCES the error ORA-24247 is raised. I did some research and they all point to the it is necessary to create an ACL to solve this probles, but the ACL already exists, as you can see above.

    Hi,
    I had the same issue, well multiple issues, with this at first. You should find the solution in one of these links. Make sure you have done each step in the lists and it will work.
    [url http://www.ora00600.com/scripts/databaseconfig/ORA-29278.html]ORA-29278 SMTP
    [url http://www.ora00600.com/scripts/11g/UTL_SMTP_ORA-06512.html]ORA-06512: at SYS.UTL_SMTP
    There are various parameters and configuration steps you need to make sure you have performed for it to work.
    Hopefully that helps,
    Rob

  • Text field highlighting Issue in oracle forms 11g after migrating from 10g

    We have migrated the oracle forms from 10g to 11g.
    On 10g oracle form when I click on the text item then text item value gets hilighted in blue color but after converting same form(without making any code changes) into 11g version form when I click on then text item then value is NOT hilighted.
    Could please help me why it's behaving different? Are there any configuration changes required at the application server side?
    Thanks

    christian,
    We have forms 11.1.1.2.0.
    In oracle forms “text item value is highlighted When user clicks on text item” is controlled by form level property “KEEP CURSOR POSITION”.
    This property is not working with JAVA SUN plug-in in forms version 11.1.1.2.0.
    This issue has been fixed under Patch Set 2 (11.1.1.3.0). Please see below meta link.

    Hi,
    The plan between 9i and 10g is pretty the same but the amount of data fetched has considerably increased. I guess the query was performing slow even in 9i.
    The AR_CASH_RECEIPT_HISTORY_ALL is presently having 332000 rows in 10g where as it was 17532 in 9i.
    AR_CASH_RECEIPT_HISTORY_N2 is now having 332,000 rows in 10g where as in 9i it had 1,740
    Try creating some indexes on
    AR_CASH_RECEIPTS_ALL
    hz_cust_accounts

    Hi Jaya,
    I think it's a layout problem, the table component or the outer component around the table is set to some default width value (300px?). Try setting the width explicitly to something larger, or see if you can use a stretchable layout component around the table.
    If you post the code from your page here we might be able to say more.

  • Calling Reports from forms after migrating to 10g

    Hi all,
    I have migrated forms to 10g. Now, few of those forms have a button_block where some buttons have a WHEN_BUTTON_PRESSED trigger, and in that they are calling the reports. Now I need to change it.
    I have the following logic in it.
    declare
         musername varchar2(20);
         mpassword     varchar2(20);
         mconnect      varchar2(20);
         mparameter  varchar2(50);
         mcommand      varchar2(120);
         malert      number;
    begin
              musername := Get_Application_Property(USERNAME);
              mpassword := Get_Application_Property(PASSWORD);
              mconnect  := Get_Application_Property(CONNECT_STRING);
              mparameter:= 'mreceipt_no='||:global.receipt_no||' mreceipt_category_code='||:global.category_code;
              mcommand  := 'r25run.exe module=report_name.rep userid='||musername||'/'||mpassword||'@'||mconnect||' '||rtrim(ltrim(mparameter));
              host(mcommand,NO_SCREEN);
    exception
         when others then
              message('error');
    end;No I need to change, the line
    mcommand  := 'r25run.exe module=report_name.rep userid='||musername||'/'||mpassword||'@'||mconnect||' '||rtrim(ltrim(mparameter));
    How do I use run_report_object for this??

    Hi
    here is a complete example on how to call a report from a parameter form 10g
    DECLARE
       PARAM_ID                                 PARAMLIST ;
       PARAM_NAME                           VARCHAR2(30) := 'REPORT_PARAMETER';
       ALRT                                         NUMBER;

       repid                                         REPORT_OBJECT;
       v_rep                                        VARCHAR2(100);
       v_REP_SERVER_NAME       VARCHAR2(200);
       v_ip                                          VARCHAR2(100);
    BEGIN
           PARAM_ID := GET_PARAMETER_LIST(PARAM_NAME);
           IF NOT ID_NULL(PARAM_ID) THEN
