[SOLVED] mplabx fails to run...

Hi guys,
First post, noob to Arch and looking for some guidance.
I've installed mplabx from the AUR, but it doesn't run....
I followed the wiki step by step, downloading the tar-ball, issuing makepkg and finally pacman -U.
Although the first time my pc crashed partway through makepkg, I re-ran makepkg with the '-f' flag as advised in terminal, the process completed and then I used pacman to install.
After the install, terminal reported that before running mplab I must agree to the LICENSE, I had no idea how to do that so I searched these forums, the only post I could find that
seemed remotely applicable suggested opening the license agreement in a text editor and scrollling through it to the end, which I did    ( not sure if there was a bit of leg pulling going on there:-p )
Anyway mplab simply refuses to run.....
log files show this:-

Any thoughts or guidance will be much appreciated.

OK, a simple reboot has sorted the problem.....
Does java run as a daemon? How would I find out if this is the case?
Marking this as 'solved'....

  • [SOLVED] Steam fails to run under Wine

    Hello,
Recent Ubuntu -> Arch user here, so go easy on me!
I run Steam under Wine. Once it logs in, the main and update news windows appear, and so do '$FRIEND is currently playing $GAME' boxes. That's all fine, until Steam completely dies/disappears a second or two later. It looks like it just can't find a load of necessary libraries; I know the files don't exist, but should they? If not, why is Wine looking for them?
As far as I know, all Wine dependencies (incl. optional) are installed. The Gecko extension too. I searched far and wide and installed whatever lib32 (including lib32-catalyst-utils) packages I could find in relation to Wine problems. The 64-bit Catalyst drivers are installed and working.
I did follow the wiki and I did search on Google, these forums and the bug tracker, but nothing has worked.
    $ uname -a
    Linux pr0scarch 2.6.36-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 10 20:32:37 CET 2010 x86_64 AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1055T Processor AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
    $ wine --version
    wine-1.3.10
    $ cd ".wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam"
    $ WINEDEBUG=warn+all wine ./Steam
Due to a measly scrollback of "only" 5000, I didn't get all of the log, but I think this is 99% of it and that it might contain relevant info: http://www.resiiign.com/~coconut/steam.log
    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

Thanks cebru, that was the problem.
Now I just need to tweak things so that games work well. CS 1.6 is flawless so far.
    Thank you again!

  • [solved]script fails when changing profile through powerdevil.

i use ondemand governor and i want to change up_threshold value.
Whenever i change profile through powerdevil up_threshold gets its default vaule of 80.
what i did was to create a script named threshold containing the lines:
    #!/bin/bash
    sudo sh -c 'echo 50 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/up_threshold'
i have also set through /etc/sudoers that this script is passwordless for my user.
if i run the script, it successfully changes the value. It also runs successfully if i put it in startup.
My problem is that it fails to run when i choose it to run when a profile loads through powerdevil. I am refering to the feature shown below :
at first i thought that this function has a problem. so i chose to run kate, and when i changed profile, kate started immediately. So i guess that there is a problem with my script.
    Any ideas?

I hope someone reads this thread also its already marked as solved...
Anyway, i would like to use CPU frequency scaling, but in the powermanagement settings,
i cant shoose anything for frequency scaling.
What do i have to do to be able to set "ondemand" or "always lowest frequency"?
Wich daemons and/or modules do i have to activate to change the frequency policy?
Would be very nice if someone could help me.

  • [solved]Xorg cound't run on Nvidia

EDIT:thank everyone helping me, and I have solved my problems.
NOTE:my laptop is actualty equiped with dual graphics and using wiki  https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA_Optimus it work prefect!
my new laptop is ASUS A550JK which is reported has one graphics card(Nvidia GTX 850m)
first of all , I'm confused how many graphics cards in it really because lspci's output is this:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor DRAM Controller (rev 06)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor PCI Express x16 Controller (rev 06)

04:00.1 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 12)
it seems that it has two graphics cards:

    01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM107M [GeForce GTX 850M] (rev a2)
    whats the fact?
I try to collect imformations (in China network) about this laptop  ,all webpage and even ASUS information never say this laptop has dual graphics cards, and I have tried bumblebee itreturned xdisplay error..
EDIT:maybe i am wrong, I have found two webpages that describe this laptop(ASUS A550JK4710)actually is hybrid graphics.
secondly . Im trying to install xorg after just install package nvidia and configed using nvidia-xconfig. when running startx it reports:

Thank you very much and I have deleted these words already. Im sorry to annoy someone...
I try to collect imformations (in China network) about this laptop  ,all webpage and even ASUS information never say this laptop has dual graphics cards, and I have tried bumblebee itreturned xdisplay error..
EDIT:maybe i am wrong, I have found two webpages that describe this laptop(ASUS A550JK4710)actually is hybrid graphics.
and xorg error seems due to the deriver?

Welcome to the forums.  Please note that the "NEED HELP PLEASE" especially in all caps is not needed in your title - and it might well be annoying to many forum users which might make them less happy to try to help.
Second, the lspci ouput indicates you have hybrid graphics.  I don't have much experience with these systems, but they are well documented in the wiki.  As far as I know you can't use *just* the NVIDIA (but I might be wrong) - I'm pretty sure if you want to use just one of the video cards you can use just the intel.  Hopefully someone with experience with hybrid graphics will confirm or correct this.
    For now, see here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NVIDIA_Optimus
EDIT: after reading that wiki page I'm more doubtful of my own statements so I've crossed them out.  But it seems there are various steps needed to configure the use of the nvidia drivers.

I have had several Acrobat Professional apps, including Acrobat Professional 7 (serial number 1118-1784-3666-3609-3800-6837) but when I upgraded Windows XP to Windowsa 7 (64) It didn't run. I also had PhotoShop CS and Adobe directed me to your web site where I could download a PhotoShop CS that would run on Windows 7 and Acrobat 8. PhotoShop runs fine. When I try to load Acrobat 8 I get a message that another Adobe app needs to be open also. I open PhotoShop cs and then open Acrobat 8, but it stills shuts down. How do I solve this problem.

  • flexunit 4.1 B3 Ant task fails to run Air-based tests

    Folks,
I am using FlexUnit4.1 Beta 3 and am seeing the <flexunit> Ant task fail when running tests that use the Air libraries. The project in question used to test just fine with version 4.0 earlier this year, but I just dusted it off after a branch change and tried re-running with 4.1and started seeing the failure. Here is the relevant console output:

: Error launching the test runner.
The error message is not very specific... The last output seen before the failure is "Found AIR version: 1.5". This makes me wonder if the problem is related to how I have Air installed on my Windows XP machine. Come to think of it, I am not sure exactly how the host machine should be configured to run FlexUnit tests that require Air.  Do I really need Air to be installed?  I have Air 2.0.3.13070 installed, but the <flexunit> task thinks it found version 1.5 - hmmm...  I also have the debug Flash 10 player, and SWF appplications are configued to run using this player. Flex tests run fine, just not Air tests.  What am I missing?
I see that 4.1 RC1 is now out, so I will grab that and give it a try.
If anyone who tests air more often has any advice - I am all ears!
    Thanks,
    Trevor

    Thanks for your responses, Brian!
Yes, I think I see the immediate problem.  The problem is that there is no Air runtime in our customized Flex SDK (based on 3.2), even though it appears to have the Air compile libraries. I had been attempting to use this custom SDK to run FlexUnit with, and I think that needs to change.
    Why was I doing this?
Well, I had tripped over some problems with 4.1 earlier on when I attempted to run it without having FLEX_HOME set in the environment. So, now I have been setting FLEX_HOME programmatically in my code before calling the <flexunit> task. And I had figured that it would be a good idea to set FLEX_HOME to the same SDK that the tests had been built with, i.e. our customized one.  Now I am thinking that this is not necessary, since our end users will never have access to this SDK. I now think that I should be able to install a new stock Adobe Flex SDK on my CI server, install the Air runtime into it, and then use that location when I set FLEX_HOME.  Is that how others are doing it?  If anyone could validate this approach, I would be grateful.
One question that arises in my mind now: How does the Air runtime get into the Flex SDK? I have installed the Air runtime using the installer from Adobe some time ago, so I am not quite sure what all that did.  I assume the  Air installer finds all the Flex SDKs on your machine and inserts the runtime in each location appropriately? Again, pardon my ignorance...
I have just tried out the above idea, i.e. setting FLEX_HOME to a different SDK that has Air runtime, and the <flexunit> task worked when I ran it!  An Air window opened, the tests ran, and reports were generated. So, it would appear my problem is solved! Cool beans!
Brian, you made some comments about another possible issue with the "custom app descriptor".  I am not sure if that applies to me or not.  How would I know whether or not we need that support?  Again, I know it would help if I was the developer who had actually written the Flex tests, but I am not...
Anyway, I hope this thread helps other folks who are having similar issues.  I am going to reinstall a fresh Adobe SDK and the Air installer on a clean machine next, and see if the tests will run there.
Before ending this thread, I do want to point out that the ant task might have need of improvement in the case in which the user attempts to run the air "player" but the Air runtime is not setup in the SDK. On Windows, the ant process simply hung at this point, apparently thinking that the launch of the player had been successful, but in reality, the message about the air runtime being not found had occurred. It might be nice if it exited gracefully with a warning message instead of hanging. Just a suggestion...
Brian, as always, thanks again for your help with this issue. You guys are doing a great job with this project. Please keep it up!
    Thanks,
    Trevor

  • [SOLVED] Arch failed to mount /boot

    Hey there,
after my btrfs filesystem somehow got corrupted, so it would only mount my "/"-filesystem as read-only, I backed it up with rsync, recreated the partition and then transfered the data back. After that, I was unable to boot anymore with this error:
    [1.593560] systemd-fsck[306]: fsck.fat 3.0.27 (2014-11-12)
    [1.594292] systemd-fsck[306] /dev/sda1: 98 files, 43105/98304 clusters
    Mounting boot...
    [FAILED]Failed to mount /boot.
See "systemctl status boot.mount" for details
SystemD the prompted me with it's emergency mode, but this didn't react to any keyboard presses, so I couldn't check the exact error with sth. like journalctl -xb. I then booted a, today downloaded, Arch Live-CD and tried to access the logs via journalctl -b -D /var/log/journal/ didn't work out: It only had the logs from before the boot problem.
With a bit of googling I figured a way of fixing this could be chrooting in and reinstalling initramfs, typing chroot errored out with:
chroot: failed to run command /usr/bin/zsh: No such file or directory
I tried commenting out /boot in fstab, but at booting something [FAILED] with Load Kernel Modules and I instantly got prompted with a blank, black screen with a "_" blinking in the top left corner, like a normal console, expect any prompt of any kind was missing and it didn't react to my keystrokes, similiar to SystemD's emergency mode
So essentially two smaller problems with few google results are hindering me from solving my big problem.
Thanks for any help in advance,
    Quanttek

Probably easier to use `arch-chroot` though:

Thanks. Using arch-chroot worked out. It is/was certainly no environment issue, I even tested it with both i386 and x86_64.
I used it to reinstall mkinitcpio and to update my system, so now on boot I dont get a failure on mounting /boot anymore, but I still have problems with Load Kernel Modules.
My screen now looks something like this: http://m.imgur.com/ATWHJoq
Again it's not reacting to any keystrokes. I'll get some sleep now and will look tomorrow into getting some information from the journal logs.

  • LSMW Fails when run in B/G but works fine in Front end..why?

    Hi All,
i am trying to run a batch process by LSMW, my files are accurate, no problem with them, everything works fine but it fails when run in BG..works absolutely fine in front end. whats the diff with running in B/G?
same thing happens when i am trying to execute an RFC thru SAP JCO, it works when debugger is on (i guess switching on debugger is similar to running in B/G) but it doesnt work when debugger is off. but when i execute that RFC directly in se37 from SAP gui it works fine..fails when connected to JCO..
i am not having this issue with r/3 4.6c or mySAP ECC.6.0  i have this issue only in r/3 4.7.
has anyone faced the similar situtaion? pls help.
    thanks.
p.s if this may help. the RFC and LSMW error both are pertaining to change in address of US employees.( infotype 0006)

  • Oracle EM Grid Control Error: Failed to run command in process

I am trying to change "Backup Settings". After entering the Host Credentials, when I click the OK button, I receive the following error message.
    Validation Error
Examine and correct the following errors, then retry the operation:
Error - Connection to host as user <user> failed.ERROR: Failed to run command in process
    Any Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
If you are using linux/windows the hostname credentials should be the user who has installed the oracle 10g database software, if Windosw the user you are using need to be member of the ora_dba group and have Local Security privilege 'Log on as a batch job'.
What you need to do is go to start----> Programs----> admin tools----> Local security policy --->local policies ---> user rights assignments
In the list to your right, look for 'Log on as a batch job', double click and add the same OS local user you using to access OEM web to the group.
I hope this will solve your problem.

  • Application migrated from 11.1.2.3 to 12.1.2.0 fails to run in IntegratedWebLogic

    Hi,
Can anyone help resolving the following problem.
We've been developing an ADF application with JDeveloper 11.1.2.3 and it works fine when run both with its IntegratedWebLogic or when deployed to a standalone Glassfish server.
We want to switch to JDeveloper 12.1.2.0. and use new UI components.
We are able to successfully open the application in JDeveloper 12c -  the migration logs say it was successfully converted, all projects, pages, task flows, classes open and can be edited just fine. However the application fails to run with IntegratedWebLogic.
Application is using modules included via ADF shared libraries:
    CommonUI.jar and  CommonModel.jar -> included in ApplicationModule1 and ApplicationModule2.
Both ApplicationModule1 and ApplicationModule2 work fine when tested with IntegratedWebLogic.
They are in turn included in the MasterApplication as ApplicationModule1.jar and ApplicationModule2.jar.
However the MasterApplication (SLABAccountMaster) fails to run. It gets deployed, but there is an exception when accessing the first page: The UIViewRoot is null. Fatal exception during PhaseId: RESTORE_VIEW 1.
I've posted a fragment of the logs below. I can include all of it - but it's huge.

I can't seem to get my iMac (late 2009 model) into automatic sleep mode.  If I manually put it into sleep I don't have any issues.
I used to solve the issue by running "PleaseSleep" application but that doesn't work anymore since Lion. I now want to fix the underlying problem.
I'm not running any weird background processes and in my energy saver settings I've tagged "put the hard disk to sleep when possible:, "allow power button to put computer to sleep" and "automatically reduce brigthness". All pretty standard.
Is there anyone who can give me some pointers ?

Today I solved the same problem for my iMac running Snow Leopard. See https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3008791#15947706. The method may help you, too.
For me it was the DynDNS Updater preventing my iMac from automatically entering sleep mode.
To my knowledge the cause of this sleep problem can only be a peripheral device or a process. So I suggest to first unplug all peripherals and test whether that's the cause. If not, I suggest to terminate one process after another and to test automatic entering of sleep mode after each. Start with user processes; continue with system process if necessary.
At least that's the way I found the offending process. Fortunately, I was able to change the configuration of that process to allow again automatic entering of sleep mode.
    Good luck!

  • Failed to run task sequence - 80004005. DNS working though.

I seem to be getting a fairly common generic error but with possibly with a slight difference then some of the other problems/answers I have seen.  Generally it looks like this is a DNS issue but I am not sure in my case.
Let me 1st describe my infrastructure and what I am trying to accomplish.  System Center 2012 R2, trying to deploy server 2012.  We use PKI on the main MPs/DPs.  I have another DP that I will use for OSD content that
won’t use PKI.  I am 1st attempting to use boot media, vs PXE, to image a computer.  I have distributed the content to the DP, created a boot media USB and everything looks good there as far as I can tell.  My boot media
selects the PKI MP and we have created the client cert and I direct it to the non-http DP.  The process seems to accept the certificate and the boot media creation completes.  Next boot off the media on the computer and drop into Windows PE where
I can manually enter the IP information.  When I click next the process fails.
    Error:
    Failed to Run Task Sequence
An error occurred while retrieving policy for this computer (0x80004005).
So starting some of the troubleshooting I F8.
-Can I ping the SCCM site servers?  Yes, I can ping, both short and FQDN, the primary, MP, DP.
Looking at the SMSTSLog I see the following lines/errors.
1)Failed to open PXE registry key.  Not a PXE boot.
2)Failed to find the source drive where WinPE was booted from
But then the next line is:  Executing from Media WinPE
These 2 are at the top of the log and the process seems to continue on with the IP and variable information.  These are the lines of information later in the log with the error(s):
    -CLibSMSMessageWinHTTPTransport::Send:URL: (my MP)
-In SSL, but with no client cert
    -Error.  Received 0x80072ee7 from WinHttpSendRequest.
    -Hr,HRESULT=80072ee7
    -sending with winhttp failed, 80072ee7
    -m_pHttp Transport -> (etc….)
    -MPKeyInformation.RequestMPKeyInformationForMedia
-Failed to get information of MP: https//(my MP)
So I am wondering where I start.  I don’t see that unknown host line that seems to indicate that it is a DNS issue.  I see some stuff about the in SSL but with no cert.  Does this mean that the cert we had to create isn’t working correctly?
    We pretty much followed
    http://www.jamesbannanit.com/2012/05/how-to-build-and-capture-in-configuration-manager-2012-using-https/
I have also looked through this
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configurationmgr/archive/2009/07/27/a-step-by-step-for-using-osd-through-system-center-configuration-manager-2007.aspx
And I have pretty much everything done there except a network access account.  Looking at my settings I am set to, “Use the computer account of the Configuration Manager client”  However, my computer I am trying to image is a “WORKGROUP” and not
joining the domain.  But.. am I really getting that far in the process?  Would I be failing to get policy because of this or does this just come into play when I try to get the OS from the DP?

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.
    Thanks!

After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • Error: Component failed to run due to a Object Package scheduling failure

    Hi,
    BusinessObjects XI R2 SP 5, FP 5.1
I am trying to schedule a group of reports (crystal reports) via a package where the output destination is to an email. At the event of execution of the scheduled time for the package; the package fails with the error: Component failed to run due to a Object Package scheduling failure. (Note: When scheduled individually it is successful and it was copied to the package from its original location, so there is no mistake in parameters or ODBC connections)
When we go to the history and within the instance, we see that some of the reports have the status as success and some are failed with the same error message. Even though some of the reports are made to fail at the event of 'NO DATA'; what I do not understand is that how come some of the other reports (which contains data and which works when trying to run manually or scheduled individually) are failing.
I would understand something is wrong when the entire package fails which is not the case here as say of 50 reports, 5 are successful and the rest fails with the same error.

Sorry posted on the wrong section...
