[SOLVED] OpenVPN - tap device does not come up

I am trying to connect to an OpenVPN server. The server configuration is good; it works for Windows clients.
When I try to connect my Arch box, it says everything is good:

The route errors are because the tap0 device doesn't actually come up; the "link" remains down, and no address is assigned:

Forcing the link up makes the device appear in the ip output, but still no address:

I've also tried a netcfg profile for the same config; same result.
Any ideas why tap0 doesn't want to come up?

FYI, I had to change my Windows config to up an --up script to explicitly request the DHCP address:
# this script brings the tap device up and starts a dhcpcd client on it

It's a bit (lot) of a hack, but it works. I have to start dhcpcd in the background otherwise OpenVPN seems to timeout the --up script and abort everything. I couldn't find how to extend the time limit that --up is allowed to run for.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

But they will be wondering about the reference to hacking and you feeling bad about getting something for free.
Best step in my view is to make sure you don't get similarly involved in future. You must know roughly what you were doing. Then writie it off to a not to be repeated experience.

It's possible there is a problem with the shuffle, but a few more questions and suggestions to rule out other possibilities...
Are you using the original cable that came with the shuffle? Some third-party replacements look similar, but if it is made for the 2nd gen shuffle, it will not work because the connector is different.
Are you using a direct USB port on the computer, and not a USB hub? A USB hub that is self-powered (has its own power supply) should work, but try a direct USB port on computer.
If you have not since this problem occurred, shut down (power off) your computer. If there are other USB devices connected, as a test, you may want to disconnect them, except for standard keyboard and mouse (if normally used). Do this to Reset the shuffle

Turn on computer, run iTunes, and connect shuffle to a direct USB port.
If that does not help, did this shuffle work previously on this computer, and does not work now for some reason? Or is this a new shuffle that was not previously connected to this computer? (If it is less than one year since purchase date, it is under warranty.)

"The selected communication device does not exist"

Whenever I log on (or come out of sleeping), I get a prompt box from Internet Connnect that says "The selected communication device does not exist. Please verify your setting and try again". I think this started to happen when I stopped using a USB modem to access the internet. Recently I was again using a (different) USB modem, and when I stopped (I now have a wireless router), I now get TWO of the above alerts!
To be clear - I have no problem accessing and using the internet with the wirelss router I am using.
Is there a way of deleting historical communication devices I no longer use from Internet Connect that might stop this from happening?

I wonder if this might have something to do with Location and Network settings.
I'd go to System Preferences/Network and, choosing the location that you are using, select the "modem" tab. On the presumption that, because you are now using wireless router and that your computer is no longer using its built-in modem, I'd delete all settings under "modem".
Then I'd open Internet Connect and see what crops up when you click on the Modem tab. It should be blank. If it is not, I'd close Intertet Connect, then go to My User Folder/Library/Preferences, and there move the following file to the Desktop: com.apple.internetconnect.plist. Open Internet Connect again.
There are other things that can be done, especially in the Locations settings. However, I'd try the above first.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

My last Torch died with a JVM. Just got it replaced today and I want to get my Downloaded apps back. After I have restored the device from BlackBerry Desktop, none of my downloaded apps are there. I have a brand new 9860 , running Bundle 7.1. I launch App World. It tells me to upgrade. When I follow the screen upgrades, I reach an error message : Notice: Sorry your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BB App World. I have a brand new phone so first question...can I upgrade App World over Wi-FI. or do I have to get a Data Plan from my Telco first ? I have been running my old phone fine with no Data plan but enjoying BBM and Cell use. Not happy.

My Iphone 4 does not come with a SOFTWARE UPDATE option.

My partner bought my iphone 4 version 4.2 about two years ago from a well known store. He got himself one at the same time but i cannot update mine because it does not come with an option in settings, general that allows me to update it. All of my apps are useless as they need at least iSO5 to run. I cannot check my bank accounts or anything. I have rung and spoke to apple many of times and followed all the steps to try and update. As this is not my fault and the iphone had not been loaded with the correct software there should be something APPLE could do free of charge!!!! I really need help as i cannot afford a replacement or want one. I just dont know what to do anymore!!

The wish list only works on apps you have to pay for. To get it tap the icon of the app you want to save. After it opens at the upper right corner is a box with a arrow. Tap that then tap add to wish list list in the box that opens.
