SMB File Share Storage Failover Cluster "path is not valid folder path"
I am having an issue that I am scratching my head over. So I have setup a 3 node Hyper-V host cluster that I am attempting to use SMB File Share storage for the shared storage medium. I have been trying to migrate a virtual machine from one of the nodes
local storage into the file share using System Center VMM 2012 R2 with UR5 however I keep getting the message "The specified path is not a valid folder path on node2.domain.com" for the storage that VMM automatically selects for placement of files
from the migration. However what is odd is to the same file share for storage I can do a new deployment of a virtual machine to the same cluster with the same shares; I can also delete a virtual machine from the share fine; the file share for the virtual machine
I library I am deploying machines from is the same server as the file shares for the cluster that I am deploying to so maybe that is why that succeeds; if I try to move the recently deployed VM from one file share to another for storage same error comes up.
The three nodes all reference the same file server, which is just one file server for the storage, and the shares were created in VMM and as such the file share permissions were setup by VMM so they should be sufficient. I have also attempted this with both
delegation of CIFS and without through AD (trust to specified computers with CIFS, Hyper-V Replica and Microsoft Virtual Console Service via Kerberos only).
I am stumped as to what to check next or how to get this working and would appreciate any guidance anyone can give towards a resolution for this problem.Jeff,
Thanks for reporting this.
There's an known issue with UR5 that VMM gives wrong error when deploying a HAVM onto a SMB share. In that situation, VMM complains "Invalid folder path".
To confirm you are hitting the same issue, would you kindly let me know:
1. Are you trying to migrate a HighlyAvailable VM onto the SMB share?
2. On UI of "Migrate Storage Wizard", if you click "Browse", do you see the target file share showing up in "Select Destination Folder" dialog?
3. By "the three nodes all reference the same file server", I assume you added the target file share onto the list of File Share Storage thru the cluster's properties UI. If so, please go to the UI and check whether the access status shows
green there.
4. By "local storage", do you mean "local disk"? Or a shared LUN from any array? I assume it's not "available storage" or "CSV" of the cluster. Please double confirm.
Note: If we are sure hitting the known issue, I will later re-direct you to a hotfix. But let's make sure it is the issue first.
Look forward to your reply. -

Query Builder session settings as a solve to ORA-01843 (not a valid month)
Hi All! I'm novice at Oracle and RDBMS, so sorry for a dummy question.
I'm trying to make some queries to a tutorial database (10g XE) with Query Builder of Application Express 2.1000039.
I'm requesting columns with id, date of order and status of order; in a column of ordering date as a "where" condition I've wrote:
>= to_date('23-JUN-2006', 'DD-MON-RRRR') and got an error "ORA-01843: not a valid month".
Then I've edited row filtering condition:
>= to_date('23-JUN-2006', 'DD-MON-RRRR', 'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = american') and 've got a correct query result, BUT resulting table date format is DD-MM-RR.
So, here is a couple of questions:
1. Can I change a session settings (e.g. alter session set NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-RRRR') such way, to use it in Query Builder, before building an application itself and not to write 'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = american' every time I'm inserting data to a date datatype field?
2. I wonder why resulting table date format is 'DD-MM-RRRR'. How can I get a data exactly in a date format 'DD-MON-RRRR', how I'm specifying in a query?
My operating system is Windows 7 Home Basic, NLS_DATE_FORMAT is DD-MON-YYYY in 2 cases in register and respectively in environment variable.
SQL*Plus displays all mentionted query tables correctly, corresponding to an 'ALTER SESSION ..... SETTINGS'.
Hope to your help, guys. Thanks for answers!Hi,
you can run the following query so you will see the session parameter values, and any differences with database and instance values :
SELECT
a1.parameter as "Parameter",
a1.value as "Database value",
a2.value as "Instance value",
a3.value as "Session value"
FROM
nls_database_parameters a1
LEFT JOIN nls_instance_parameters a2 ON a1.parameter = a2.parameter
LEFT JOIN nls_session_parameters a3 ON a1.parameter = a3.parameter
ORDER BY
a1.parameter ASC;What are the values for NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE and NLS_DATE_FORMAT ?
1. Can I change a session settings such way, to use it in Query Builder, before building an application itself and not to write 'NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = american' every time I'm inserting data to a date datatype field?In the application, It depends on the Application Primary Language and Application Date Format you have set in the application globalization attributes. But you can also alter the session every time the APEX engine connects to the database, by entering some PL/SQL code in the Initialization PL/SQL Code attribute of the application (Application Builder -> Application -> Edit Security Attributes) :
BEGIN
EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'ALTER SESSION SET NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE = ''AMERICAN'' ';
END;In all cases application level settings will only affect the application, not SQL Commands and Query Builder. I think you have to alter session manually each time for these two last tools :/ -

After upgrading to 10.7.5 some of my AU plugins can not be validated in Logic pro. (I got error message "Remove property listener". I can not work anymore. What should I do?

QAAWS error message "not a valid query"
Hi,
When I'm trying to connect to QAAWS I get this error message: "not a valid query. FWB 00025".
Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
The server where the BOE is installed on has been restarted a couple of times but it doesn't help.
Universe Designer and WebI work fine.
Thanks!Is QaaWs running properly on your system?
To validate the installation, open a browser and type the following URL
http://[server]:[port]/dswsbobje, where [server] corresponds to
your web server address and [port] corresponds to the port where you
set up in your web server. The default used by Tomcat is 8080. dswsbobje
is the default name of the Web Service provider web application. Then Validate. -

ORA-01843: not a valid month
Hi
I get the following error message intermittently.
===> ORA-01843: not a valid month
The problem is only intermittent! Which makes this more difficult to solve !
Ideas please ?
The piece of problematic ProC code is given below -
===
if(nForUpdate)
EXEC SQL SELECT * into :dbtbl:dbind FROM MYTABLE
WHERE my_time = :dbtbl.my_time
AND myf_id = :dbtbl.myf_id
AND myl_id = :dbtbl.myl_id
AND myw_id = :dbtbl.myw_id
FOR UPDATE;
else
EXEC SQL SELECT * into :dbtbl:dbind FROM MYTABLE
WHERE my_time = :dbtbl.my_time
AND myf_id = :dbtbl.myf_id
AND myl_id = :dbtbl.myl_id
AND myw_id = :dbtbl.myw_id;
RajaSo what kind of error handling to you have in place to log the error messages and related diagnostic information?
This error usually happens when we have a character variable holding dates as strings, with the inevitable corruption of invalid dates being amongst those strings.
If you say it isn't data in the table and the input parameter :dbtbl.my_time always contains a date, then the only possible explanation is that Red Lectroids are corrupting your database with their alien 8th Dimension calendar....
Cheers, APC -

Error 'RecoveryMgr.exe is not a valid Win32 application' when trying to restore in Win7
I really hope someone can help as this is driving me mad!
System details - G62 Notebook running Windows 7
The notebook crashed after a Windows update and wouldn't boot up. I made it into the recovery manager and back my files before restoring to factory settings.
Since getting back in I am unable to get my files back. I have tried through the recovery manager but it does not allow me to see the files on the dvd. I have also tried through backup and restore but no joy there either. When I click on RecoverMgr.exe on the dvd I get error 'RecoveryMgr.exe is not a valid Win32 application' and it won't open.
I hope someone has managed to solve this before as I would love my files back. All suggestions greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.Thanks Mumbodog. Unfortunately I have tried and the files won't copy. Starting to think they are corrupt! Have tried on a few different PC's but no luck. Really annoyed Any other suggestions?

I have this two-node Solaris 10 x86 cluster that refuses to fail the HASP zpool over to the second node.
On node 2, log complains that /var/cluster/run/HAStoragePlus/zfs is not a valid directory:
Aug 17 22:23:28 minipardus SC[,SUNW.HAStoragePlus:8,clstorage,zfspool,hastorageplus_prenet_start]: [ID 148650 daemon.notice] Started searching for devices in '/dev/dsk' to find the importable pools.

Aug 17 22:23:35 minipardus SC[,SUNW.HAStoragePlus:8,clstorage,zfspool,hastorageplus_prenet_start]: [ID 292307 daemon.error] Failed to import:qnap
In fact, on node 2 this folder is missing, i.e. the /var/cluster/run/HAStoragePlus folder isn't there.
If I create that folder, and the zfs folder inside it, then switchover works flawlessly both ways, but if I reboot node 2, that folder
gets cleared and the problem is back again. Looks like a bug to me, but I perused sunsolve without finding anything.
This is Sun Cluster 3.2 update 2 with latest patchset, running on a Solaris 10 x86 update 7 (latest).
I already tried removing and recreating the HASP resource, no way.
Any hint will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rick
Edited by: leopardus2 on Aug 18, 2009 2:46 AMAfter many sleepless nights looking at this problem, I ended up solving it by myself right 30 minutes after posting here!!
The problem was due to ZFS plugin not being configured in /etc/cluster/eventlog/eventlog.conf !!
I think this happened because I installed HASP on node 1 before node 2 joined the cluster for the first time.
Should be marked as a bug IMHO...
Thanks
Rick
