[SOLVED] rc.xml: & ampersand and # hash break Openbox keybinding URL's
I'm trying to get a keybinding to work in Openbox's rc.xml, so that when I press W-XF86Mail it opens a Google documents spreadsheet.
rc.xml:
<keybind key="W-XF86Mail">
<action name="Execute">
<execute>firefox https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AjuCrdYnTCyacGNfX0FuRzBFUnBOalNxS0VXYjJhVUE&hl=en#gid=3</execute>
</action>
</keybind>
Other keybindings in the same file work fine. But when I reconfigure Openbox I get an error message "One or more XML syntax errors were found while parsing the Openbox configutation files...". After reconfiguration, I press W-XF86Mail and it starts Firefox but opens the wrong URL - the first bit is correct but the last bit reads ...key=0AjuCrdYnTCyacGNfX0FuRzBFUnBOalNxS0VXYjJhVUE=en instead. As you can see the last bit &hl=en#gid=3 is missing. If I delete the & ampersand then the hash # character seems to cause the same problem. Is there a problem with using the ampersand or hash characters in keybindings?

thanks for the tips, I've now got the right page to load when I type the command into the urxvt terminal. But it still doesn't work with Openbox keybindings, I edit and reconfigure but press the keys and get no response at all. I've checked and the same keybinding will successfully open other programs and webpages. Here's the keybinding in /home/username/.config/openbox/rc.xml:
<keybind key="W-XF86Mail">
<action name="Execute">
<execute>urxvt -e gdocspread</execute>
</action>
</keybind>
I've also tried <execute>urxvt -c gdocspread</execute> and simply <execute>gdocspread</execute> to no avail. However changing the same keybinding command to <execute>urxvt</execute> does open urxvt successfuly.
So the keybinding will open urxvt, and if I manually open a urxvt terminal and type gdocspread firefox starts on my desired web page. So what's the missing link?
NB: About the ampersand:
For some reason even from the terminal it won't work with the ampersand, but I discovered that I can leave that out as it just defines the language. However for future reference it would be useful to know how to put an ampersand in a URL. This is the code that does load the correct page:
home/username/.bashrc
# Check for an interactive session
[ -z "$PS1" ] && return
alias ls='ls --color=auto'
PS1='[\u@\h \W]\$ '
gdocspread() {
firefox https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AjuCrdYnTCyacGNfX0FuRzBFUnBOalNxS0VXYjJhVUE&hl=en#gid=3
Interestingly the URL etc...key=0AjuCrdYnTCyacGNfX0FuRzBFUnBOalNxS0VXYjJhVUE&hl=en#gid=3 and the URL etc...key=0AjuCrdYnTCyacGNfX0FuRzBFUnBOalNxS0VXYjJhVUE&hl=en#gid=3 won't load, the URL gets cut off at the ampersand.
Furthermore it's interesting to note that in the above configuration file /home/username/.bashrc only the ampersand causes problems, but in /home/username/openbox/rc.xml both the ampersand and the hash characters cause the URL to be cut off.

XML, XSL, and why I need a URL to create a XSLStylesheet
In order to convert XML>>HTML I need to specify both the XML (data) and the XSL (stylesheet). Great.
Before I slap these two together, I need to create an instance of XSLStylesheet, which takes my raw XSL file and a **URL**?
XSLStylesheet xsl = new XSLStylesheet(xsldoc, xslURL)
What is this URL used for? Antoher XML processor I'm migrating from does not require this, and it looks like I can't avoid it. (There's no constructor for the XSLStylesheet that DOESN'T need the URL.)
QUESTIONS:
- Is there a way to avoid specifying a URL?
- If there's not a way, can someone tell me what the URL is being used for? All I see from the Javadoc is that it's a "Reference URL for include, import and external entities". Would love to be able to expand on that - leaves me in a fog.
Thanks!
Will.try using "null" as argument for url

[solved]Update of x264 and ffmpeg breaks MPD
Updating to x264-20100107-1 and ffmpeg-20100108-2 had a bad effect on MPD today
error while loading shared libraries: libx264.so.67
error while loading shared libraries libavutil.so.49
Were the error I got after update when trying to start mpd.
Rather than do the ugly ls -s fix I'll wait for a rebuild/fix.
Anyone else??

I at least did ask in #archlinux and got no response before posting here.

good... I somehow knew if I posted this to begin w/ MPD would be rebuilt/uploaded soon soon after I posted.

How can I take the part that parses the .XML file and make it a procedure.
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY XMLSTUD6 AS
Author: Jimmy Harris
Created: 5/25/2006
Purpose: 1.This package has an XML file initialized to a variable called DOC .
2.It will then take the values from the XML file and insert them into a PL/SQL table.
3.From the PL/SQL table it will insert values into the STUDENTS table.
4.After step four above, the STUDLOAD procedure will insert (Sequence,Status, .XML file, USER, SYSDATE, ERROR_Message
into the AUDIT_XMLSTUD table regardless if insert status was successfull or not status is indicated by either an Y or
NO and the original XML filed that was currently processed, the date and user who executed the procedure.
If the status was NO then it will insert the Oracle SQLERRM massage, into the REASON_FOR_ERROR column.
If status is Y then REASOK_FOR_ERROR IS NULL.
5,Make sure you embed the xml file with an inner and outer ' ' ie: ' the whole .xml file string ' as the input
parameter into the STUDLOAD procedure.
This package excepts the whole .XML file as a CLOB as an input parameter, so that the end-user will not have
modify the code.
Modification History: 1.6/09/2006 JImmy Harris Modified code, added the Function "WORD_CONVERTER1" to accept the requested text data and
return a coded value back to our Welligent system.
2. Was advised that a front end type of functionality was not neccesary for this issue so I removed the INSERT_XML_FILE,
UPDATE_XML_FILE and the INSERT_XML_file.

When updating books, it's sometimes better to just to create a new book file and add the files to that.
When renaming files in a book, changes at the system level will break any links/cross-references between files, so it's always best to use the Rename option in the Book file to change FM file names. This will maintain the correct linkages. -
Help needed in XML encoders and decoders
I'm using XMLEncoders and XMLDecoders for storage of java objects. Currently I've tried on simple data types only. But the problem is if I want to operate on the XMLEncoder created file from two different programs, then it is giving errors. In one program I'm executing
XMLEncoder e = new XMLEncoder(new BufferedOutputStream
(new FileOutputStream("polledobjects.xml")));
e.writeObject(...);
e.writeObject(...);
e.close();
and in another program I want to append to append a few more objects in the same polledobjects.xml, so I created another XML encoder object and opened the polledobjects.xml in append mode.
XMLEncoder e1 = new XMLEncoder(new BufferedOutputStream(new
FileOutputStream("polledobjects.xml",true)));
e1.writeObject(...);
e1.writeObject(...);
e1.close();
Now, Decoder works fine till the point it goes thru xml portion created by the first program, but as soon as it reached xml portion created by the second program, it gives the error->

I know it is giving problems b'cos it is encountering <?xml tag 2 times in the same xml document, but what should I do if I want to append in the same xml file and in the second program nothing more than filename is known...

Prevent Occurence of list header and page breaks in spool file of ALV Grid
Prevent Occurence of list header and page breaks in spool file of ALV Grid Display.
When we run the ALV in background and create spool request then:
Spool file output is coming like this.
Column1 Column2 Column3 Column4
data data data data
data data data data
data data data data
Column1 Column2 Column3 Column4
data data data data
data data data data
data data data data
But the required is like this
Column1 Column2 Column3 Column4
data data data data
data data data data
data data data data
data data data data
data data data data
data data data data
Please suggest a posible answerHello all,
if you have not yet solved this on your own, here is my solution: use a format type that has 60000 lines per page for your spool output device.
It all depends on the format type that was used for creating the spool output.
By default (in our system), we have 65 lines per page. And after each page the column headings of the ALV will appear.
What i did:
create a new format type via transaction SPAD->full administration->device types->format types (copy an existing one)
change"Number of Rows" to 60000 or something applicable
edit the device type of your output device (e.g. LOCL) to contain the newly created format type (via SPAD; Button "Formats" in device type maintenance).
That's it! Be sure to use this format type for your output device in the "Background Print Parameters" window (-> Button "Properties").
Regards
Daniel Klein
All other parameters you discussed before didn't do it. All ALV-Settings will be overwritten by the output device settings and its print properties. -

How to parse XML Column and insert values into a table
Hello,
I am working on a simple project to demonstrate how to load and extract XML using SQL, I have already made a table that contains a column of XMLTYPE and loaded an XML file into it (code below)
create or replace directory XMLSRC as 'C:\XMLSRC';
drop table Inventory;
create table Inventory(Inv XMLTYPE);
INSERT INTO Inventory VALUES (XMLTYPE(bfilename('XMLSRC', 'Inventory.xml'),nls_charset_id('AL32UTF')));
select * from Inventory;
I now however need to get the XML data back out of that and loaded into a new table. Troubleshooting guides I have read online seem to only be dealing with parsing an external XML document and loading it into a table, and not what I need to do which is parse a column of XML data and load that into a table. The project trivial with simple tables containing only 3 columns.
The table that needs to be loaded is as follows:
create table InventoryOut(PartNumber Number(10), QTY Number(10), WhLocation varchar2(500));
The XML document is as follows:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<dataroot xmlns:od="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:officedata" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="Inventory.xsd" generated="2012-04-09T17:36:30">
<Inventory>
<PartNumber>101</PartNumber>
<QTY>12</QTY>
<WhLocation>WA</WhLocation>
</Inventory>
</dataroot>
Thank you for any help you can offer.First of all, thank you for your help!! Still stunned that you actually took the time to write out an eample using my tables/names/etc. Thank you!!
Attached is the code, there seems to be an issue with referencing the other table, Inventory.Inv, I checked and that table and the Inv column are showing up in the database so I am not sure why it is having issues locating them, take a look at the code I wrote as well as the output (*I included the real version number for you this time :)
EDIT: In your code right here:
select xt.*
3 from Inventory inve,
4 XMLTable('/dataroot/Inventory'
5 PASSING inve.Inv
I think is where I am messing it up, perhaps not understanding fully what is going on, as you write "Inventory inve" and "inve.Inv" ---- Is inve a keyword that I am just not familiar with? I think this is where the issues lies in my code.
END EDIT
EDIT2: Well that looks like it was it, changed that to how you have it and it now works!!! Could you please explain what that few lines is doing, and what the xt.* and inve are doing? Thanks again!!!
END EDIT2
drop table InventoryOut;
create table InventoryOut (PartNumber number(10), QTY number(10), WhLocation varchar2(500));
insert into InventoryOut (PartNumber, QTY, WhLocation)
select xt.*
from Inventory Inv,

How to read XML file and write into another XML file
Hi all, I am new to JAVAXML.

I solved, how to read XML file
But I don't know how to Write nodes into another XML.

Read in XML file and spit out specific element
Hi all i wonder if someone could give me a hand. I've got some code (below) which reads in an xml file and spits out the contents of the file. Thats fine and dandy, however what i want to be able to do is specify which element to spit out, which i'm not sure how to do. So say i had the following xml file:
<?xml version="1.0"?>

<answerChoice3>question2 answer3</answerChoice3>
<answerChoice4>question2 answer4</answerChoice4>
<correctAnswer>question2 answer1</correctAnswer>
</question>
</OpenSourceQuestions>What i want to do is only spit out the xml for the first question, i.e. "A raster graphics editor" and its answers
Here is my java code for reading in and arsing the file:
void readXML(){
try {
File fXmlFile = new File("MyXMLFile.xml");
DocumentBuilderFactory dbFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
DocumentBuilder dBuilder = dbFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
Document doc = dBuilder.parse(fXmlFile);
doc.getDocumentElement().normalize();
System.out.println("Root element :" + doc.getDocumentElement().getNodeName());
NodeList nList = doc.getElementsByTagName("question");
System.out.println("-----------------------");
for (int temp = 0; temp < nList.getLength(); temp++) {
Node nNode = nList.item(temp);
if (nNode.getNodeType() == Node.ELEMENT_NODE) {
Element eElement = (Element) nNode;
System.out.println("Question : " + getTagValue("setup",eElement));
System.out.println("Answer1 : " + getTagValue("answerChoice1",eElement));
System.out.println("Answer2 : " + getTagValue("answerChoice2",eElement));
System.out.println("Answer3 : " + getTagValue("answerChoice3",eElement));
System.out.println("Answer4 : " + getTagValue("answerChoice4",eElement));
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
private static String getTagValue(String sTag, Element eElement)
NodeList nlList= eElement.getElementsByTagName(sTag).item(0).getChildNodes();
Node nValue = (Node) nlList.item(0);
return nValue.getNodeValue();
}IN the time since i posted i have solved my own query!

Web.xml problem and using of FrontController Pattern
I use FrontController pattern and created servlet ControllerServlet.
I want that when users open my site (for example mysite.com) all requests goes to controller? and even when users enter diretc path to jsp or servlet all requests were sent to ControllerServlet.
in my As I read in "Java Servlet and JSP CookBook" for this I have to write in web.xml file such code:
<servlet-mapping>
<sevlet-name>ControllerServlet</servlet-name>
<url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
</sevlet-mapping>so any requests will be sended to my controller servlet.
But now I have other problem. How I have to call my jsp pages? When I use RequestDispatcher and forward reques to jsp pahe login.jsp, I have error because this request again redirects to controller.
PS For calling servlet I have solve of this problem I just have to add to web.xml file security-constraint element for needed servlets.You really shouldn't have to map all urls to your ControllerServlet. Set the welcome file in the web.xml to open index.html and in index.html use JavaScript to direct the page to the ControllerServlet. Now as long as you only do RequestDispatcher forwards (no sendRedirects), all hyper links point to the ControllerServlet and all form actions point to the ControllerServlet you are okay. The reason is that the user will nevr see anything else in the browser address other than the ControllerServlet url and should never know the url of any other JSP or Servlet to request them directly.

.xml file and iTunes library files are missing from the music folder
I recently made a second itunes library on my external hd, today when I open itunes and choose this library, the .xml file and itunes music file are invisible or translucent, therefore I can't open my library. But when I go to my music folder they are missing. Another odd thing is that all my music is still in the folder. Is there a way to re-open my library w/o re-importing all my music? Can I some how get a new itunes library file?
Mac OS X (10.4.10)This is not an answer but I have the same problem. From time to time I clone my music drive to an external drive for back up. When I do, I burn a copy of the album artwork folder, iTunes Music folder, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Music Libraru.xml, and iTunes Library file to CDRW. This is so I can copy them into the music folder in my user home drive of my laptop then hook up the external and have access my library. Trouble is the .xml file and iTunes library files don't always show up when I go to the iTunes folder in my Music folder. There either is a blank where they should be or the names appear with no icon and when I click to select, that dissappers too. I thought I had a solve by exiting iTunes and letting it save everything. It seems to bring the .xml file back but not the itunes Library file. Any thoughts?
