[Solved] Show connection information on JSP Page

Hi all,
I have a ADF application. That is working fine, but I'm missing one thing.
On a jsp page I want to show wich connection paramaters are used to connect to the database. How can I get these parameters?
Thanks in advance.

KdeGraaf,
Just do what I just did:
Type myAM.getTransaction().getConnectionMetadata().get
and pause for a second or two, and you'll see that it's called getJdbcURL()
-- whoops I just saw you answered your own question
Best,
john

  • How do i use Connection pool in JSP pages

    Hey everyone,
    I am using a connection pool in my web application. I am using DbConnectionBroker from Javaexchange.com. It has a class that creates a connection pool available for the servlets. I am trying to figure out that how to use connection pool within the JSP pages if I want to connect to the database. In the servlets i am using DBConnectionBroker pool = (DbConnectionBroker) getServletContext().getAttribute("dbPool") to get database connection. How Can i use this in JSP page to get a db connection.
    Thanks

    If the reference to the connection pool is already stored as an ServletContex attribute, try:
    <jsp:useBean id="dbPool" scope="application" class="com.javaexchange.dbConnectionBroker" />
    <%
    Connection con = dbPool.getConnection();
    %>

    Thank you,

    Yes ofcorse. You can do it in many ways.
    Firstly, declare properties of your bean as static that you want to share between pages and create new instance of bean on each page.
    Secondly you can store the same instance of the bean in you session. On th other page, you can retrive same instance of the bean whenever needed.
    Otherwise, you can create a gateway class that maitain static reference of you bean class.

  • [Solved] Show Connection in Use [netcfg]

    hi!
    I've just installed netcfg2 and it works great (thanks iphitus for your work!)
    I've a stupid question in mind..
    Actually I start manually my wireless connection (if active) and I leave arch connect to my eth0 automatically (simply adding eth0 on rc.conf interfaces).
    what I ask you is .. is there a way to show what is the currently active connection ?
    (like the crappy NetworkManager applet do)
    ex. eth0 -> cable_connection
         wlan0 -> SSID
    thanks for your answers.
    bye!

    _Marco_ wrote:I disconnect the cable restart the network daemon and run 'netcfg2 wifi'
    I think I'll try ifplugd (I hope it fix the long /etc/rc.d/network stop/start time, because it wait for ethernet timeout)
    The long timeout results from you restarting the network init script with no cable attached. netcfg does not need the network script, so if you're switching from wired to wifi, just stop network, then run netcfg.
    You might find it useful to set up a profile for your wired connection too - then you could manage both of them with netcfg.

    Hi here is solution,
    later I will put a project for this solution, right now I am really busy with ADF implementation.
    core changes is to solve my problem:
        byte[] buffer = new byte[image.getBufferSize()];
        int nread;
        vo.remove();
        while ((nread = is.read(buffer)) != -1) {
          os.write(buffer);
        }All code as below:
    Servlet Code*
      public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request,
                        HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException,
                                                             IOException {
        String appModuleName =
          "his.model.ModuleAssetMgt";
        String appModuleConfig =
          "TempModuleAssetMgt";
      String imgno = request.getParameter("imgno");
        if (imgno == null || imgno.equals(""))
          return;
        String voQuery =
          "select ITEM_IMAGE from MM_ITEMIMAGE where IMAGE_NO = '" + imgno + "'";
        String mimeType = "gif";
        ApplicationModule am =
          Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(appModuleName,
                                                    appModuleConfig);
        am.clearVOCaches("TempView2", true);
        ViewObject vo = null;
        String s;
          vo = am.createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("TempView2", voQuery);
        // Run the query
        vo.executeQuery();
        // Get the result (only the first row is taken into account
        Row product = vo.first();
        BlobDomain image = null;
        // Check if a row has been found
        if (product != null) {
          // We assume the Blob to be the first a field
          image = (BlobDomain)product.getAttribute(0);
          // Check if there are more fields returned. If so, the second one
          // is considered to hold the mime type
          if (product.getAttributeCount() > 1) {
            mimeType = (String)product.getAttribute(1);
        } else {
          LOG.warn("No row found to get image from !!!");
          return;
        // Set the content-type. Only images are taken into account
        response.setContentType("image/" + mimeType);
        OutputStream os = response.getOutputStream();
        InputStream is = image.getInputStream();

        vo.remove();
        while ((nread = is.read(buffer)) != -1) {
          os.write(buffer);

  • How to develop and Run .jsp page from Jdeveloper 10g

    Dear All,
    I need to develop one small JSP page using Jdeveloper10g. pls share information How to develop and Run .jsp page from Jdeveloper 10g.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Hanimi.

    Hi Gyan,
    Any Idea how to get DB connection for JSP Pages.
    Our Java guys developed one JSP page for Login page.
    After Log in instead of standard responsibilites page we calling custom jsp page, For getting DB connection they defined one properties file and hard coded DB details on that file and calling, but client is not accepting hard coding.
    Pls give any idea for getting DB connection directly in JSP pages.
    Hanimi.

  • My jsp page does not get refreshed

    I have a jsp page which looks like -
    the top portion of the page has 3 textboxes and a submit button to add an entity.
    the rest of the page displays a list of all the entities in the system.
    when i load the jsp and add a new entity, the new entity shows up on the list. when i try to add a new entity second time, the entity does get added into the database, but does not show up in the list.
    In the action class, i make a request to the dao and print all the values from the list, returned by the dao. Since the newly added values are present in the list, returned by the dao, i dont think there is anything wrong with my business layer or the DAO layer.i dont understand, why it does not show up in the jsp page.
    any ideas. i am wondering if the data is being cached, so, in the jsp page i have also set the following parameters:
      <head><meta http-equiv="Expires" CONTENT="0"><meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" CONTENT="no-cache"><meta http-equiv="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache">
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Has this to do anything with Struts and Hibernate which i use in my application? The same thing happens, when i edit. when i click on edit button, it takes the user to a different page, i edit the details and click on save button. the control returns back to the list page, but the changes are not shown, although the changes are saved to the db. how do i prevent cache. i am putting my entire list in a request object, before doing an action forward to the jsp page

    Hi,
    instead of using the cache in the meta tag try with the following lines,
    response.setHeader("Cache-Control", "no-cache");
    response.setHeader("Pragma", "no-cache");
    response.setDateHeader("Expires", 0); Regards,

  • Bean Value display in JSP Page

    Hi,
    I am trying to display a value stored in my bean on the jsp page. The value is to be displayed on the initial jsp page.
       public void doInitialization()
              request = (IPortalComponentRequest) this.getRequest();
              response = (IPortalComponentResponse) this.getResponse();
              myContext = request.getComponentContext();
              myProfile = myContext.getProfile();
              Statement += "doInitialization";
              BeanContainer = new MockUpBean();
              BeanContainer.setValues( Statement);
              myProfile.putValue( "myBean", BeanContainer);
              // reset String
              BeanContainer = ( MockUpBean) myProfile.getValue( "myBean");
        }// public void doInitialization()
    On the JSP Page side:
    <jsp:useBean id="myBean" scope="application" class="MockUpBeanPackage.MockUpBean" />
    <%= myBean.getValues()%>
    The jsp page does no pick up the value I try to store in the doInitialise method.
    Any thoughts on what I may have done wrong in my code.
    I try response.write("Test"), this too does not show up in my JSP page.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    NAC

    Marty,
    The portalapp.xml file is as follows:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <application>
      <application-config>
        <property name="PrivateSharingReference" value="com.sap.portal.htmlb"/>
      </application-config>
      <components>
        <component name="MockUpPage">
          <component-config>
            <property name="ClassName" value="MockUpPackage.MockUpPage"/>
            <property name="SecurityZone" value="MockUpPackage/low_safety"/>
            <property name="ComponentType" value="jspnative"/>
            <property name="JSP" value="pagelet/InitialPage.jsp"/>
          </component-config>
          <component-profile>
            <property name="tagLib" value="/SERVICE/htmlb/taglib/htmlb.tld"/>
          </component-profile>
        </component>
      </components>
      <services/>
    </application>
    Again any help would be apreciated. I have used this piece of code to write values to beans in various projects, never had any issues. This is the first time I am having an issue with this piece of code.

  • How to Identify that which Region is attached to which Jsp page?

    Hi
    I am working on module Quoting Sales. I have my jsp page qotSCocHeader.jsp . In responsibility AK Developer we have a region QOTSCOCHEADER . As we can see that the jsp page name and the AK region name both are same.
    Now my doubt here is that :
    How can we identify that which region is attached to which jsp page ?
    Analysis that I have done so far:
    1) I have check the Application Developer responsibility --> Function also . Here I can see 1 tab for Region , but no details are present in this tab
    2) All jsp pages are present in $OA_HTML . So I have done grep in this directory but no reference to region name .
    Pls guide me as how can I get information about Jsp page and region linkage .
    Thanks
    Amit

    Hi
    Thanks for the update.
    I have Right clicked my jsp page --> View Source and searched for the Region name i.e XXQOTSCOCHEADERLLLP and found one occurence for the region. Reference to region name was like this:
    <form target=_top method=POST name="_etffm001"> <input type=hidden name="jfn"
    href="http://betsyn1.emrsn.com:29604/OA_HTML/jsp/fnd/fndhelp.jsp?lang=US&root=FND:LIBRARY&path=US/QOT/@XXQOTSCOCHEADERLLLP" target="HELP_WIN"><span
    But still I have an open question, Where in the Oracle Apps setup we attach the region with Jsp page ?
    i) I am not able to find any setup for this in Oracle.
    ii) In jsp code I am not able to find as where we are making call to region associated with the Jsp page.
    So can you pls help me out in identifying as where exactly the Jsp page and region are attached . How the Oracles Apps identify as which region is attached to which Jsp pae ?
    Thanks
    Amit

  • Displaying calculated data in JSP pages

    This is a general question about displaying data in JSP pages which has been calculated through ViewObj Routines. I have exposed the methods to the application level however, I want these methods to automatically run on the launch of the page. I can so this with a data action in the struts file. However, I have lots of these methods (all bringing single values of data), it seems inelegant to have 10 data actions or so. What's the best way to expose and show data on a JSP page automatically which has been calculated from the database rows.
    Thanks in advance

    You could convert the vo row to a hash using BeanUtils and then you could do what you want with it programmaticaly to automatically dissplay the lhash values.

  • Need to place the data from database to right position in jsp page

    hello all java prople.. i m disigning a jsp page menu..which is having deep 4 level menu.. means one heading & 4 sub menu of each menus.. which is containing data from sql database...
    i can manage connection in between jsp page & d database.. but to place the data in right position is very typical....
    i need dyanamic insertion or deletion of menu item from the database..... help me out

    This has completely nothing to do with JDBC.
    I'll give you only a hint then: "hierarchial data". Google it in combination with some smart keywords, such as "SQL" or "database".

  • Jsp page shows old information

    Hi, does anyone knows what is the proplem?
              I have a jsp page that reads data from database and some how it shows me old date information, and after refreshing the page it shows new modified date, allthought I have cleared temporary from browser ???
              thanks

    That is not a webpage, the JSP is most likely used as a Plain Old Xml (POX) transaction page. So it acts as a sort of webservice.
    Suppse a jsp page
    is it code in jspBit of a nobrainer, wouldn't you think? It would be hardly of any use if that XML was static content.
