[SOLVED] XAMPP 1.8.0 + virtual hosts = 403 access forbidden

Hello, all. I am happy migrant from ubuntu to arch, but have problem, which i can't solve myself.
I need to setup xammp for local development.
My actions
Install last xampp from aur
Run lampp
Open locahost, there is "xampp welcome page"
Open localhost/phpmyadmin and get
xampp new xampp security concept, blablabla
    Okay, add "Require all granted" in httpd-xampp.conf
<Directory "/opt/lampp/phpmyadmin">
        AllowOverride AuthConfig Limit
        #Order allow,deny
        #Allow from all
        Require all granted
    </Directory>
    phpmyadmin came back
I need virtual hosts, structure will be
/home/$USER/Sites/{site1/index.html,site2,site3 etc.}
Uncomment include vhosts in httpd.conf
Include /Applications/XAMPP/etc/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf
Clear httpd-vhosts.conf and put there
<VirtualHost *:80>
        DocumentRoot "/home/shara/Sites/mysite"
        ServerName mysite
        ServerAlias www.mysite
        ErrorLog "/home/shara/Sites/mysite-error_log"
        CustomLog "/home/shara/Sites/mysite-access_log" common
    </VirtualHost>
Add new host in /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 mysite
Set "User shara" and "Group www" in httpd.conf
<IfModule unixd_module>
User shara
# commented out by lampp compatibility check
#Group nogroup
Group www
</IfModule>
Add group "groupadd www"
Add user to group "usermod -aG www shara"
Change htdocs group "chgrp -R www /opt/lampp/htdocs"
Change sitedir group "chgrp -R www /home/shara/Sites"
Change htdocs chmod "chmod 2775 /opt/lampp/htdocs"
Change sitedir chmod "chmod 2775 /home/shara/Sites"
Run xampp
Open "mysite"
Access forbidden Error 403
Open "localhost"
Access forbidden Error 403
Open "localhost/phpmyadmin"
Existing configuration file (./config.inc.php) is not readable.
Oookay
    Set chmod 664 to /opt/lampp/phpmyadmin/config.inc.php
Open "localhost/phpmyadmin"
    phpmyadmin works, but nothing else
    XAMPP 1.7 worked perfect with this config. Where is the FAIL?

  • [SOLVED] I can't get virtual hosts working. What's wrong?

    What I've decided to do is try to set up each domain name in the user folder to whom it belongs (for example: /home/username/somedomain.com/htdocs). I can't get it to work though. I keep getting an error saying that there's no index file (although there is) or that the location isn't readable (although it is). I'm trying to make it so that if the domain name matches with a virtual host section in httpd-vhosts.conf that a specific DocumentRoot will be loaded for that domain, etc. But, if the domain name points to my server but doesn't match, then I want the default location to work. I can't seem to make this work.

    ServerAdmin [email protected]

    ErrorLog "/home/normaluser/somedomain.com/log/error_log"
    CustomLog "/home/normaluser/somedomain.com/log/access_log" common
    </VirtualHost>
    So, for example, I want it to be so that if I visit http://45.117.5.40 that it'll show the stuff ftom /srv/http/default/htdocs but if the domain name matches somedomain.com then I want the server to show the content from /home/normaluser/somedomain.com/htdocs.
    What currently happens is that if I visit http://45.117.5.40 or somedomain.com, they both show the same content from /srv/http/default/htdocs.
    If I comment out the first VirtualHost section, then everything stops working and I see the default "Access forbidden!" message.
    What am I doing wrong?

    I fixed it. In case any newbs come across this, I had to add a new <Directory> section for the DocumentRoot of the virtual host. Simply adding the VirtualHost entry in the vhosts file isn't enough.
    For example, for the "somedomain.com" vhost in the example above to work, I added this to http.conf:
    #This must match with the same location as DocumentRoot in httpd-vhost.conf.
    <Directory "/home/normaluser/somedomain.com/htdocs">
    #Put whatever directives you want in here
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride All
    Order allow,deny
    Allow from all
    </Directory>
    Let me know if you need any clarification.

  • WL 5.1 and IIS - HTTP Error 403 - Access Forbidden problems

    I'm trying to hook IIS up to the evaluation version of WebLogic Server 5.1
    that I installed...
    I followed the instructions that I found on the Installing the Microsoft-IIS
    (proxy) plug-in page. I then copied HelloWorld.jsp into the
    d:\weblogic\myserver\public_html directory, and tried to bring it up in a
    browser by typing in localhost/HelloWorld.jsp. At this point, I got the
    following error:
    ** Begin error message **
    HTTP Error 403
    403.1 Forbidden: Execute Access Forbidden
    This error can be caused if you try to execute a CGI, ISAPI, or other
    executable program from a directory that does not allow programs to be
    executed.
    Please contact the Web server's administrator if the problem persists.
    ** End error message **
    I then tried adding a virtual directory called public_html to my default Web
    site. This didn't help. I even tried creating a directory called public_html
    inside public_html, setting execute privilages on it, and putting a copy of
    HelloWorld.jsp in there. This allowed me to type
    localhost/public_html/HelloWorld.jsp into my browser, and to see the JSP
    source code!?#...
    This is what my iisproxy.ini file looks like (It lives in d:\weblogic):
    ** Begin iisproxy.ini **
    # This file contains initialization name/value pairs
    # for the IIS/WebLogic plug-in.
    WebLogicHost=localhost
    WebLogicPort=7001
    WebLogicCluster=
    ConnectTimeoutSecs=20
    ConnectRetrySecs=2
    ** End iisproxy.ini **
    Any suggestions/help from someone who's done this before would be greatly
    appreciated. We can't run/evaluate the product before we can crawl and walk.
    Cheers...

    Thr problem is that you must set Execute rights to the IIS web at the
    Configuration settings (exactly as seen in the documentation).

  • Form based authentication HTTP 403 access forbidden in WL 8.1

    Hi there..
    I found following message posted in April-2004 by Sandeep very useful.
    I also ended up getting the following HTTP 403 Forbidden access error while using Pageflow controller and Form based authentication.
    I noticed 2 things. If you have a normal webapp A, which is a plain old webapp (which does not use pageflow..workshop etc..) then the following error does not occur.
    It only happens with those webapps which utilizes WL 8.1's pageflow features. Note that I am not using nested page flows. I just used 1 pageflow controller and wanted to have the form based login feature for the same.
    BEA's samples on form authentication talks about nested page flows and javax.security.auth.login.FailedLoginException and etc.. are they only applicable to nested pageflows?
    can't I use the same to capture failed login exception within a single controller?
    I tried out putting FailedLoginException exception-handler in Global.app file but it didn't catch it. Only the following work around worked. is this a bug in WL 8.1 workshop? or I am missing something.
    I would appreciate if someone can clear this doubt.
    I am using WL 8.1 with sp3.

    Hey guys,
    I could find the solution for my problem. Here it is
    We need to add following lines of code in the erro.jsp page.
    <form action"j_security_check>
    ....write the error mesage....
    </form>
    You will get rid of "403 Forbidden page" error.
    Thanks,
    Sandip

    It seems like a bug. However when I explicitly reset the error using set status it worked for me. I added following code in my error jsp .

         response.setStatus(200);

  • I try to log into the website for army knowledge online and when i log in with my card reader it says 403-access forbidden. how can i fix this issue?

    The website is secure, but my card reader gives me extra security and also any changes I need to make online, i must use my card reader and firefox will not let me. what do i do?

    Although possibly not related to your problem, I have to remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. On top of this, it has known unpatched bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum security, stability, performance and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at [http://www.getfirefox.com getfirefox.com].
    As for your problem, does this happen on other browsers too? Say, Internet Explorer?

    XAMPP works fine when I put files in /opt/lampp/htdocs/, but I like to have my projects in my home directory, so I've created a link to it like this:
    ln -s ~/public_html /opt/lampp/htdocs/$USER

    hope i've covered all area's where I could have gone wrong

    Just one more thing - the description of what i did while first Kernel appeared:
    Happened 2 days ago. Wasn't turning it off for like a day, only sleep mode by closing it. Worked fine all day, wasn't doing anything, except for checking mail 2-3 times and having windows 7 virtual machine opened but doing nothing, everything was going fine. Then closed it without turning off.
    Opened 3-4 hours later, everything was working fine for 30 minutes of checking mail, then Kernel appeared. After that pretty much everything i did is described in part 1-5.
    Note: all the time MBP was connected to internet via wifi, so updates to both MBP and virtual machine of all programs were possible.
    I only shared downloads and desktop folders, so windows couldn't have access to system folder of Mac Os.
    Hope this might help...Thanks again.

  • How to define a separate virtual host for each client in SICF

    Hello,
    We have an ERP system with multiple clients running on it. The WebDynpro ABAP applications once developed are available on all clients, as standard. However, this is not our desired behavior. We want:
    1. The WebDynpro ABAP applications should be managed separately in SICF depending on the client
    2. The URL for accessing the WebDynpro application should have a own host name for each client. e.g.
    A WebDynpro application on client 100 should be accessed by http://host1:5000/sap/bc/... and the same application on client 200 should be accessed by http://host2:5000/sap/bc/...
    After a while researching I find out that creating a virtual host for each client in SICF would be a possible solution to fulfill the above mentioned requirments:
    1. Set the profile parameter is/HTTP/virt_host_* with corresponding host name and port number
    2. Create a new virtual host in SICF assigning the profile paramter to it
    3. Assign a client to this virtual host
    My question is how to specify a client to a virtual host? I didn't find any possibilities in SICF!
    Anyone can help me? Thanks a lot in advance!
    Best Regards
    Di Li

    Hi Srikishan,
    thanks for your reply. Your suggested way is certainly a potential, and also my preferred option for solving the multiple-client-capable URL access to WebDynpro / BSP applications.
    However, for some reasons, based on the customer requirements, the client should not be visible in the URL. The URL for accessing the WebDynpro / BSP applications on different client should have different host name, as if they are different companies. Besides that, we want to manage each WebDynpro / BSP application on different clients in SICF separately.
    Therefore, at least on my opinion, we need to introduce a virtual host for each client in SICF. But how do I make it happen?

  • How to set up Virtual Hosts in Apache (OS X Server 10.9)

    I want to host more than one website on my mac mini with OS X Server 10.9
    1.) I edited /etc/apache2/httpd.conf for uncommenting the include line:
    # Virtual hosts
    Include /private/etc/apache2/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf
    2.) I edited /etc/apache2/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf and added:
    <VirtualHost *:80>
        ServerName cammino-al-dente.net
        ServerAlias www.cammino-al-dente.net
        DocumentRoot "/Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/cammino-al-dente.net"
        ErrorLog "/private/var/log/apache2/cammino-al-dente.net.com-error_log"
        CustomLog "/private/var/log/apache2/cammino-al-dente.net-access_log" common
        ServerAdmin [email protected]
    </VirtualHost>
    <VirtualHost *:80>
        ServerName sutterer.net
        ServerAlias www.sutterer.net
        DocumentRoot "/Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/sutterer.net"
        ErrorLog "/private/var/log/apache2/sutterer.net-error_log"
        CustomLog "/private/var/log/apache2/sutterer.net-access_log" common
        ServerAdmin [email protected]
    </VirtualHost>
    3.) then I edited /etc/hosts/ to spoof my IP address to the domains:
    127.0.0.1
    localhost
    127.0.0.1
    cammino-al-dente.net
    127.0.0.1
    www.cammino-al-dente.net
    127.0.0.1
    sutterer.net
    127.0.0.1
    www.sutterer.net
    255.255.255.255
    broadcasthost
    ::1
    localhost
    fe80::1%lo0
    localhost
    Then I restarted Apache...But nothing happens :-(
    I could reach my website cammino-al-dente.net only by using the Server Default-entry, chancing the entry to my cammino...-folder
    Regards
    Fred Mario

    In the /etc/apache2/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf file check this line exists:
    NameVirtualHost *:80
    This solve same issue for me.
    I hope it's help.

  • [SOLVED] Apache Access forbidden Error 403 localhost

    Hello,
    I believe this should be some thing very stupid, but I  can't find it... so here I am.
    I have just installed apache (# pacman -S apache)
    Configured httpd.comf, and created 2 virtual hosts with extra/httpd-vhosts.conf
    When I believed every thing was ok, I have started Apache as root (# apachectl start)
    Started ok, no errors (also tried start it as user with sudo, and /etc/init.d/httpd start)
    So when I go to http://localhos (or the virtual host) I allways get Access forbidden Error 403
    I have set 777 permissions to /srv/http and the virtual host (/home/username/local-web/site1.dev)
    I have tried every thing , changed dir owners to "http:http" ...
    At the Apache error log I get:
    "[Thu Oct 29 02:39:48 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] (13)Permission denied: access to / denied"
    There is a very simple plain index.html file at /srv/http and the virtual host, all file/dir permissions very permisive... so that can't be the problem.
    Am I missing some thing? Do I need to manually create the "http" user and/or add it to some group?

    Ok, here's the code:
    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "/var/log/httpd/foo_log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/etc/httpd" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/etc/httpd//var/log/httpd/foo_log".
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
    # at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple
    # httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile.
    ServerRoot "/etc/httpd"
    # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
    # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
    # directive.
    # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
    # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
    #Listen 12.34.56.78:80
    Listen 80

  • Should I be able to access virtual host via localhost/site path?

    I finally have been able to successfully set up a virtual host on my local host.
    I can access http://localhost which redirects me to the http://localhost/xampp page and I can access my local site with http://nif.local/. I thought I had read that I should still be able to access my local nif site via http://localhost/nif.local. Is that correct? If so, what should I check since I get a 404 error via the second way? I just want to make sure everything is set up correctly.
    Thank you.

    Now sorted;-).  Can disable Siri in settings for when phone is locked. Why is this not default?

  • Apache-weblogic bridge problems with virtual hosting

    Hi,
    Can we set apache-weblogic bridge where apache webserver is configured
    as virtual hosts and each Virtual Host is mapped to a WebLogic server
    instance running on separate port ?
    Please provide doc or reference or your comments if you have solved this
    problem
    Thanks
    Shriniwas

    The above comments notwithstanding, there's one outstanding line in your post that seems crucial:
    Also if I type on my browser the name of another secondary (or virtual) domain name in the form http://domain2.com it brings the website hosted under the primary domain which is domain1.com. In case I type http://www.domain2.com than it works as it should and displays the website hosted under this domain name.
    As far as Apache is concerned, 'domain2.com' and 'www.domain2.com' are completely separate entities. They have to be otherwise if all domain2.com traffic went to this site you'd never be able to host different sites within the domain (e.g. blogs.domain2.com, wiki.domain2.com, blah.domain2.com, etc.). In other words, there is no automatic relationship between a hostname and sub-records of that hostname.
    So what's happening here is Apache is seeing a request for 'domain2.com' which does not match any of its configured virtual hosts, so it handles the request via the default site. If you request www.domain2.com this matches your virtual host configuration so Apache serves the alternate content.
    The fix is simple - trivial, even - you just need to tell Apache all the hostnames that match this site - in this case if you've configured the site's primary address as 'www.domain2.com' and you want it to also respond to requests to 'domain2.com' then add 'domain2.com' to the list of Server Aliases in Server Admin.

  • Problem Virtual Hosts phpmyadmin

    I’ve been using WAMP for testing purposes for about one year now.
    Recently I purchased Dreamweaver CS5, and the Dreamweaver CS5 with PHP book from David Powers.
    According to the instructions in this book, I’ve set up a couple of virtual hosts so it is possible for me to work with site relative links. So far so good, the virtual hosts works.
    But now I can’t get to phpmyadmin through the WAMP icon and get the 404 error.
    The Alias for phpmyadmin ( standard configuration in WAMP) seems not to be working anymore.
    I’ve no idea if an alias will function with the use of virtual hosts.
    A pity that David Powers doesn’t tackle this problem in his book as well.
    Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Without creating new problems as for example no connection with the database! I’ve been searching the web for a couple of days now, so any help is more than welcome.

    While googling "apache virtual host phpmyadmin" I stumbled across this possibly helpful thread on the sitepoints.com forums.
