[SOLVED] yaourt seems not to manage cache correctly

Firstly, I'll tell you that I put these options in /etc/yaourtrc to make yaourt save a copy of all the packages:
# Build
EXPORT=1
EXPORTDIR="/var/cache/pacman/pkg-local"
as it's written in the wiki. The problem is that, for example, when I try to update telegram-desktop, I always get an error like this:
==> Validating source files with md5sums...
    telegram-desktop.tar.xz ... FAILED
    telegram.svg ... Passed
    telegram ... Passed
    telegram.desktop ... Passed
==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build telegram-desktop.
ans that's because, last time I updated telegram-desktop, yaourt exported the package into the cache as these two files:
# ls /var/cache/pacman/pkg-local/telegram*
/var/cache/pacman/pkg-local/telegram-desktop-0.6.11-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz  /var/cache/pacman/pkg-local/telegram-desktop.tar.xz
but I think the second one (without version numbers) should be a temporary file that should disappear after the installation in order to let yaourt download it again from the AUR (as I told before, the problem is that that file corresponds to an old version; indeed yaourt doesn't download anything when you try to update, it thinks it's already downloaded and checks the md5sum, which is wrong, obviously). Removing the file /var/cache/pacman/pkg-local/telegram-desktop.tar.xz lets yaourt update.
What should I do to solve this? Is it a matter of yaourt or of telegram-desktop?

Trilby wrote:But if the OP of this thread is new to using the AUR, which seems to be the case, I would still suggest not using yaourt (yet).
Hmm... I've been using yaourt to install things from the AUR since the first day in Arch, more or less, one year ago, and I had no problems until I change that to have a copy of the installers. I thank you very much for your suggestions, I'll take a look at those packages (the one you said and the others) and I'll look for their advantages and disadvantages, but when I have time (wich seems to be in some months).
Scimmia wrote:@josealberto4444, did you set SRCDEST in makepkg.conf?
As an answer of this and the final solution (I hope), I put EXPORT=1 and removed $EXPORTDIR in /etc/yaourtrc, created ~/.packages and ~/.makepkg.conf with PKGDEST=~/.packages, moved all the files in /var/cache/pacman/pkg-local to ~/.packages, changed the ownership to me and removed /var/cache/pacman/pkg-local with its changed permissions and problems. Let's see how it works in the next update. I think it should work and fixes the problem with the security due to the changed permissions. I'll post here when I update any package using yaourt with new problems or the solved tag, haha.
Thanks to all
Edit: It worked perfectly, I put the tag [SOLVED].

    Eugene;
    If the ramping VI is working fine, the problem is probably in between the update of the data point array and the Analog Output channel.
    I suggest you to have only the Analog Output VI outputing a known set of datapoints to check its operation. Once you are confortable with that portion, include the ramping VI, and keep monitoring the Update rate you are using, to make sure that all points of the array will be updated to the output.
    Hope this helps.

  • [SOLVED] yaourt and "wrong hashes"

    I've just had some troubles updating several packages from AUR with yaourt.
    The issues where concentrating on seemingly "wrong hashes".
    Today I looked a little deeper and found out, that for some reason (maybe canceled upgrade or similar) yaourt was placing a symlink in the
    /tmp/yaourt-tmp-user/package-name/
    that refers to a (possibly) broken file in
    /var/cache/yaourt/build/
    Yaourt seems not to be able to delete it, so when trying to update (again) it will break operation on validating hashes.
    Not sure if that's just a system quirk introduced by a crash or a yaourt specific problem (as it's unable to delete the broken file from its build directory on its own).
    Anyhow: For me deleting the contents of the yaourt's build directory and the package build directories in /tmp solved this issue and I was able to update without any troubles!
    Happy times! Though I think it's sufficient to only delete the files specific to the package that fails to upgrade.
    Hope this could be of any use to someone.

    Can you add a Troubleshooting section to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Yaourt ?

  • [SOLVED!] KDE 4.11 - Window Manager seems not to be running?

    Greetings,
    I still seem unable to fix the fact that systemsettings will run. However it will run if you do kdesu systemsettings.
    Doing so I started checking around in it and thought I'd look at the desktop effects, when I was greeted with this:
    So, I am guessing that the window borders and buttons are a figment of my imagination....
    This is after me pretty much starting over with KDE, removing the .kde and .kde4 folders.
    Help?
    Edit: That pic seems to not link right. Yay. Basically it says that effects can not be activated or whatever because a window manager seems not to be running. The irony of it is you can see the fact that there are window borders and buttons and such, evidence of a WM...
    I wonder if there is something here that is related to me not being able to run systemsettings... yet systemsettings will run fine in any other environment - including Gnome Shell.
    Another thing, KDE 4.11 ran great in testing and kde_unstable. Once it went to extra, things happened. I find that odd. Maybe something is missing on my end that most archers already have?
    Edit2: fixed image link

    No omeringen, Nvidia user.
    I can try again Thaodan since I've had some updates come through (and weeded out some dot files). Last time I tried I saw OpenGL 2 selected. Trying to change to 3 or anything else also got the screenshot in my OP.
    I'll log into KDE and see if it still does the same, after a brief check for last minute updates.
    EDIT: OK, so I can mark this as solved. I found an odd dot file, who's name excapes me but deals with kde sessions, just sitting around in the home folder. Once I deleted it and restarted, I found that not only System Settings finally ran again as a user, but I could also change and apply desktop effects. Peculiar. I thought that maybe it was a dot file that was causing the problem, that wasn't in the .kde or .kde4 folder. It just took finding it and removing it.
    I wish I knew more to tell, but this at least solves my issue, and the issue with the non-running-as-user system settings I had posted in another thread (thinking that they were separate events. Thanks again for all your help guys!

    It seems that the device "went missing". The fix was to add it.

    I found it in the ABS tree even though it doesn't seem to exist in any of the repos anymore. You may want to file a bug report. I don't know if it's being used by anything. It's listed as installed as a dependency but not required by anything.

    Hello Anubha,
    I am having a similar problem on my machine.  I was using Word 2008 and I created a PDF inside Word.
    I am opening the file on the system itself and I am running Windows 8.1.  I am using Version 11 of Reader.
    When the PDF I created (my resume) attempts to open, it says:  cannot find or create the file Times, Bold.  Some characters may not display or print correctly.
    However, the entire Reader keeps freezing and will not allow me to open or test print the document.  Also, it is not displaying any of the Bold Times New Roman Print.  Can you please help?  Thanks.

    this audio-only ts file as my dropbox:
    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/68121779/mp2lc-3.ts
    The downloaded TS file contains AAC which uses ADTS—a self synching Audio Data Transport Stream format. According to Wikipedia, "This file and streaming-based format are defined in MPEG-2 Part 7, but are only considered informative by MPEG-4, so an MPEG-4 decoder does not need to support either format." Based on this statement, my guess is that Apple now considers such support to be no longer needed in the QT X v10.3 media player since AAC content is, by default, normally found only in MOV, MP4, M4V, M4A, M4B, and similar containers which are not only supported by the system player but all Apple mobile device players. Even the latest version of VLC seems to have dropped this support for the AAC ADTS audio found in your downloaded TS file.
    As to audio dropout in QT X v10.3, the problem you describe seems to be a "sync" associated issue. On my system clicking the playhead to move its current position resets the sync and audio becomes playable again.

    Somewhat confused by your playlist URL reference here. Reference is for the following:
    which is a QuickDraw video file which might be more easily captured as a QT X player screen rendering at a desired playback resolution. Since you say you are dealing with other TS sequences here, I am not even certain this is the playlist file you really wanted to reference.

    How were asked to verify it ? If you received an email with a 'verify now' link in it then it's likely to be a phishing attempt to try and get your account id and password and your card details - if that is the case then you could forward the email to Apple : [email protected] (and if you clicked on the link and entered your id and password then you should change your password e.g. via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes)

    After upgrade to the latest Yaourt version (0.9.5.2-1) this is gone and Yaourt only promps like this:

    /usr/bin/yaourt: eval: line 24: `echo (required by $requiredbypkg)'
    Which is still persistent and was not solved by version upgrade. I have feeling in the gut, that it might have the same culprit.
    I also have second Archlinux box (notebook) with installation that is very similar to this one. I have cloned it, but removed some packages. Most of the system is the same. This problem is not present there and Yaourt works fine.
    I know that Yaourt is not officially supported and there are other frontends, but I prefer Yaourt.
    Does anyone have idea what might be the problem?
    Thanks.

    With regard to the sudo problem:  sudo recently underwent an upgrade that featured a rewriting of its plugins, including /etc/sudoers; I noticed the same issues for a couple days.  Add your user to the "wheel" group again, and it should clear things up.

  • [SOLVED] Awesome's not loading

    I did some updates and now I awesome won't start, giving this output instead
    awesome: error while loading shared libraries: libev.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    After a bit of googling I found this to be a pretty common error, which just requires to recompile awesome, so I reinstalled awesome from the AUR. Since that didn't solve the problem, I tried getting rid of libev and insalling awesome. It installed just fine, but I still got the same error. I also tried awesome-git but with the same result.
    I guess I'm doing something wrong since this is fixed for most people by just compiling awesome again but after a few hours of tinkering I don't seem to find what it is.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    First of all thanks for your reply.
    I do have Libev 4.01-1 and it-s in /usr/lib/libev.so.4 too.
    I've removed awesome with yaourt -Rns, then cleared the cache from not installed packaged, and installed awesome again. I repeated this for awesome-git just in case, but the same thing happens. I downloaded the package from the AUR manually and then installed, again, same thing happens.
    I must be missing something stupidly obvious, but I can't put my finger in it.
    Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    EDIT: A simple whereis awesome showed that /usr/local/bin/awesome existed, apparently I did this at some point (don't really remember). Running /usr/bin/awesome everything works great.
    So yes, pretty stupid on my part!

    I'm having problems (1) selecting onscreen text, (2) resizing menu boxes and selecting menues with the cursor. I'm not able to select menus and move them. I'm not sure how to correct this.

    1) This is because of software version 1.1. See this
    thread for some options as to how to go back to 1.0,
    which will correct the problem...

    2) This tends to happen after videos. Give the iPod a
    minute or two to readjust. It should now be more
    accurate.
    3) This?
    iPod shows a folder icon with exclamation
    point
    4) Restore the iPod
    5) Try these...
    iPod Only Shows An Apple Logo and Will Not Start

    iPod Only Shows An Apple Logo
    I think 3,4, and 5 are related. Try the options I
    posted for each one.

    I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again

  • How to create custom folder in every mailbox of Exchange 2007 mailbox : not using Managed folder

    Hello ,
    We want to create custom folder in mailbox as root or inside inbox for every user of mailbox but not using managed folder .
    I have found below article , but we do not get success to do that .
    http://careexchange.in/create-a-custom-root-folder-in-all-the-mailboxes-bulk-in-exchange-2010/
    Any idea how to do that ?
    It will be great helpful for  us.
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards
    faiz

    What happens when you try that method? What errors do you get? Have you ensured you've installed EWS 1.2 per the requirements listed in the script? (it actually mentions 1.1, but that no longer seems to be available, but 1.2 is here
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=28952 ).
    I'm assuming you're running Exchange 2007 (since you're posting in the 2003/2007 forum, and this won't work on 2003), is that correct?
    While I don't know for sure that the script will work on 2007, have you ensured that you've amended the file paths to the correct locations? Eg, assuming it should work you'll need to amend the line :
    $service = New-Object Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ExchangeService([Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ExchangeVersion]::Exchange2010_SP1)
    to reflect the version of Exchange you're running, and the line :
    Import-Module -Name "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange\Web Services\1.1\Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.dll"
    with whatever version of EWS you've installed.

  • [SOLVED] AdfFacesContext had not been properly released ... & Security

    Hi,
    While evaluating version 10.1.3.2.49 of JHeadstart some warning messages appears in the log window :
    23 oct. 2007 08:56:53 oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilterHelperImpl startFilter
    ATTENTION: AdfFacesContext had not been properly released on earlier request
    I just made a very basic application, generated it and got the messages when running it.
    The problem seems to be the filter mappings section of the web.xml generated by JHeastart which is :
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern>
            <dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher>
            <dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>
        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern>
            <dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher>
            <dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>
        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
            <servlet-name>ordDeliverMedia</servlet-name>
        </filter-mapping>When I change these mapping in flavor of :
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
            <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern>
        </filter-mapping> then I get no error.
    BUT when I keep these settings and try to use security features, I get :

    ...The workaround is to always call the Login.jspx page. But that's a major issue since I can't count on container redirection.
    Do you know any other combination that would allow me to get rid of the warning message and use security as it should be ?
    Thanks,
    Seb.

    Ok, I found how to correctly configure the filter mapping section.
    Here is what works for me :
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
            <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
            <dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>
            <dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher>
        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
        </filter-mapping>
        <filter-mapping>
            <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
            <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern>
        </filter-mapping>  Seb.
